This thesis contributes to investigation of some critical factors that affect the corrosion behaviour of mild steel in coal seam gas (CSG) produced water (single phase) and explores mitigation approaches using eco-friendly corrosion inhibitors. This work includes the study of the effect of surface roughness, fluid flow, surface roughness, immersion time, water chemistry (bicarbonate ion, chloride ion and dissolved oxygen) on the electrochemical behaviour of mild steel in CSG-produced water and simulated conditions using rotating disc electrode (RDE). Ipomoea batatas leaf extract (IBLE) and the combination of sodium nitrite (NaNO2) and potassium iodide (KI) as corrosion inhibitors were studied.

Manor, Timothy Scott Calhoun. „Epiphanius' Alogi and the question of early ecclesiastical opposition to the Johannine Corpus“. Thesis, University of Edinburgh, 2012. http://hdl.handle.net/1842/6426.

Der volle Inhalt der Quelle
Annotation:
The Johannine literature has been a cornerstone of Christian theology throughout the history of the church. However it is often argued that the church in the late second century and early third century was actually opposed to these writings because of questions concerning their authorship and role within “heterodox” theologies. Despite the axiomatic status that this so-called “Johannine Controversy” has achieved, there is surprisingly little evidence to suggest that the early church actively opposed the Johannine corpus. This thesis is a detailed study of the primary evidence recorded by the fourthcentury Church Father, Epiphanius of Salamis, which is the earliest record to explicitly note ecclesiastical opposition towards the Gospel and Apocalypse of John, taken together. In his Panarion, Epiphanius states that a group called the “Alogi” rejected the Gospel and Apocalypse of John, and attributed both to the heretic Cerinthus. He does not record any identifying features of this group’s provenance, theology or constituency; rather he only notes two objections that these Alogi had against the Gospel of John, and three against the Apocalypse. The identity of this group remained a mystery for centuries until consideration was given to the testimonies of two later Syrian writers who indicate that a certain “Gaius” made similar criticisms against the Gospel and Apocalypse of John in a debate with Hippolytus of Rome. As a result, the consensus view throughout modern scholarship is that an early churchman, Gaius of Rome, was the leader of this group that sought to eradicate the Johannine corpus from the church, and that Epiphanius as well as the later Syrian writers used a work of Hippolytus, now lost, as the primary source of their information. This thesis is a careful examination of the evidence that supports the theory that the early church actively opposed the Johannine literature. Thus, particular attention is given to the testimony of Epiphanius concerning the Alogi. It is demonstrated here that when priority is given to the early evidence, the Alogi is a fictional heretical sect, created by Epiphanius from various testimonies to account for what he believed to be antagonism primarily against the Gospel of John, and secondarily the Apocalypse. The later Syrian evidence is also examined in light of the early evidence, not the other way around, as is often the case. As a result, these sources are shown to be less reliable in their portrayal of the early reception of the Johannine literature than has previously been recognized. The first section of this thesis engages the question regarding the likelihood that Epiphanius derived his knowledge of this group from an earlier work of Hippolytus. The internal and external evidence about this group suggest that it is Epiphanius’ own creation. The second section explores the testimonies of earlier writers, namely Papias, Irenaeus, Origen, Eusebius and Dionysius of Alexandria, and the way in which Epiphanius used these sources in the construction of this heresy. The third and final section critically examines the reliability of the later Syrian evidence concerning Gaius and his supposed ties to the Alogi. I argue that these later sources are not as reliable as many scholars maintain, and that Gaius of Rome was not associated with the Alogi, nor was he a heretic.

Bretin-Chabrol, Marine.

Before the image of the genealogical tree became common in the West, Latin language already compared the family to a tree. Lineage is described as a stirps (a stump, trunk or plant). Descendants are called "offspring" (stirps, suboles, propago) or "seed" (semen, satus). Family develoment is described in vegetal terms : to layer (propagare), to prune (recidere), to graft (inserere). Adoption - the process of establishing a legal family unit comprising members who are not biologically related - is sometimes referred to as grafting (insitio). Across societies, human lineage is established by a system not limited to biological breeding. Paradoxically, vegetal images are used to describe social units as elements of nature. Despite their common use, these metaphors convey a strongly ideological conception of lineage. While early Roman texts show the existence of a complementary maternal filiation, the vegetal representation focuses primarily on patrilinear descent and corporate group. Individuals receive their identity from the group ; they also serve as temprary representatives of the lineage to outsiders. Vegetal metaphors establish a strict boundary between legitimate members of a lineage and those who are not included in it. This border is extrapolated to society at large. The same metaphors distinguish between members of the nobilitas who are endowed with a stirps and those who are not. Therefore, the order observed in nature is used as a model for legitimising social order

Annotation:
Gaius Julius Caesar remains one of the most studied characters of antiquity. His personality, political career, and military campaigns have garnered numerous scholarly treatments, as have his alleged aspirations to monarchy and divinity. However, comparatively little detailed work has been done to examine his own personal religiosity and even less attention has been paid to his religion in the context of his military conquests. I argue that Caesar has wrongly been deemed irreligious or skeptical and that his conduct while on campaign demonstrates that he was a religious man. Within the Roman system of religion, ritual participation was more important than faith or belief. Caesar pragmatically manipulated the Romans' flexible religious framework to secure military advantage almost entirely within the accepted bounds of religious conduct. If strict observance of ritual was the measure of Roman religiosity, then Caesar exceeded the religious expectations of his rank and office. The evidence reveals that he was an exemplar of Roman religio throughout both the Gallic Wars (58-51BC) and the subsequent Civil Wars (49-45BC).

Borrell, Vidal Esperanza. „"Studia Iuuenciana"“. Doctoral thesis, Universitat de Barcelona, 1989. http://hdl.handle.net/10803/1723.

Der volle Inhalt der Quelle
Annotation:

The "Studia Iuuenciana" are, on the one hand, a study of the imitation that Juvencus does of the poet Virgil and, on the other, a set of works of lexical nature.

The first volume presents the detailed analysis of the first book of Juvencus' "Evangelia" in relation to Virgil's "opera maiora". This analysis has allowed us to show the degree of influence of the Virgilian work and the less numerous, although not less evident, incorporation of poetic elements from such writers as Ennius, Ovid, Statius and, to a lesser extent, from Lucan, Horace, Catullus and Propertius essentially. It has also allowed us to establish, from a formal viewpoint, the typology of the imitation from its main poetic source, i.e. from Virgil, which we superficially describe here as: a) choice of lexicon; b) use and location of sets of lexical chains or "iuncturae" in different parts of the verse; e) recreation of a whole verse of the poet from Mantua; d) transposition of a certain number of lines by means of intertextuality; e) thematic transposition. The study also offers a detailed commentary, by way of a sampling, on a certain number of lines from the fourth book, in which an identical process as that detected in the first book is observed, and a "tabula comparationis" of the Virgilian lexical chains that are more relevant in the first book of the "Evangelia".

The second volume includes a new "lndex verborum", with the mottos of Juvencus complete work and a set of lexical instruments, such as the recounts in decreasing and alphabetical order of the mottos, two inverse indexes of the grammatical forms and their enunciations as well as the registration of the lexical and morphological differences -with regard to Virgil-detected in Juvencus' first book.

The third volume presents the "Concordantiae" -of similar characteristics to those composed by H. HOLM WARWICK,"A Vergil Concordance". Univ. Minnesota Press, Minneapolis 1975- not only of Juvencus' complete work but also of the verses that tradition regards as double.

Thesis (MA)--Stellenbosch University, 2011.
ENGLISH ABSTRACT: A persona is a definable literary technique that all authors necessarily use. This thesis tries to show how Catullus, with the use of six personae (amator acceptus, amator reiectus, hospes urbanus, poeta doctus, fabulator en sacerdos), persuades the reader of the emotional “authenticity” and the accessibility of his poems. This is done firstly by investigating the literary process of which a persona forms part. By comparing this process with the three phases of a conversation (thought, expression and utterance), it is possible to see how a persona can be “discovered”. The thought represents the historical author and his literary context. The expression represents the literary persona itself. The utterance represents the unemotional, “unloaded” elements of the text manifested as the collective function of characters, speakers and narrators. By identifying this process in Catullus’ poetry, the relevant personae are illuminated. Catullus, as a Latin poet who was familiar with “Roman performance poetry” and the ancient theatre mask, also understood this complex process. This thesis argues that Catullus used the persona – like a theatre mask – as a so-called “totem of perspective”. The careful use of persuasive techniques that provide the momentum, are analysed in some of his poems, keeping the function of this “totem of perspective” in mind. The result is that the poet succeeds in creating sophisticated, diverse and accessible personae, which readers through the ages readily accept as “authentic”.

Annotation:
There exists between lyric poetry and music a bond that is at once tangible and grounded in practice, and yet that is indeterminate, a matter of perception as much as theory. From Graeco-Roman antiquity to the modern day, lyrical forms have brought together music and text in equal partnership: in archaic Greece, music and lyric poetry were inextricably (now irrecoverably) coupled; when lyric poetry flowered in the eighteenth century, composers harnessed text to music in order to create the new and fully integrated genre of Lieder; and in our contemporary age, the connection between word and music is perhaps most keenly felt in pop music and song 'lyrics'. In 2016, the conferral of the Nobel Prize for Literature on Bob Dylan brought to wider public attention the nature of lyric's poetical-musical bond: can Dylan be considered a poet if the meaning, syntax and expression of his words are dependent upon music? Is music supplementary to the words or are the two so harnessed that the music is in fact a facet of the poetic expression? The connection between music and poetry is perfectly clear in such integrated lyric forms as these, but a more indeterminate connection can also be felt in 'purely' musical or poetic works - or at least in the way that we perceive them - as our postRomantic, adjectival use of the word 'lyrical' shows. Describing music as lyrical often suggests that it carries an extra-musical significance, a deeply felt emotion, something akin to verbal expression, while a lyrical poem brings with it an emotive aurality and a certain musicality. Text and music of lyrical quality may, therefore, invoke the other for the purpose of expression and emotion so long as our understanding of lyric forms remains conditioned by the appreciation of an implied music-poetry relationship This thesis works within the overlap of music and poetry in order to explore the particular lyric voice of Catullus in the context of his twentieth-century musical reception. Whilst some of Catullus's poems may have been performed musically, what we know of poetry circulation, publication and recitation in first-century BCE Rome suggests that the corpus was essentially textual. Nevertheless, Catullus's poetry was set to music centuries later, not in reconstruction of an ancient model, but in new expression, suggesting not only that composers of the twentieth century found themes in Catullus's poetry that resonated in their own contemporary world but that they found a particular musicality, something in the poetry that lent itself to musical form. I argue that it is in these works of reception that we can most clearly identify the essence of Catullan lyricism. Moreover, by considering the process of reception, this thesis is able to take a broader view of lyric, identifying traits and characteristics that are common to both music and poetry, thus transcending the boundaries of individual art forms in order to consider the genre in larger, interdisciplinary terms.

Assuming the premise that the most efficient way of approaching the work of a certain poet is to determine the key points of his poetry, made explicit by his own words, either in prefaces or in metalinguistic poems (which we shall call \"metapoems\"), the objective of this study is, from the vast production of the poet Martial (c.40 - 105 AD), to select, translate, annotate and comment analytically the corpus of \"metapoems\" that explains Martials concept of epigram - the genre this poet practices - in terms of invention, style and disposition.

Our project seeks to develop a business idea based on the problem that we have detected due to the State of Emergency that we are experiencing due to the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Due to the current situation, many gyms around the world have had a relevant impact, even more so those that did not have some kind of virtual platform for those people who due to lack of time could not attend establishments dedicated to physical exercise. A problem has been identified for those who want to maintain a healthy life, but do not have the necessary knowledge to maintain an exercise routine at home or an adequate eating plan. Similarly, during this pandemic, mental health is one of the most prominent issues. It is important to mention that what is planned is to take advantage of the problematic context experienced on a day-to-day basis, in order to provide adequate solutions that generate real benefits for the people who will be part of them. This project is divided into two stages. In the first stage, the validation of the problem is described through interviews with the target audience and experts related to the subject. In the second stage, you will focus on developing the business idea and determining the incorporation of the company. Within the analysis developed, the importance of the operations and marketing implemented is highlighted. Our differential is the customization factor in each plan offered.

At present, it is focused either on aquaculture or agriculture. Those who focus on aquaculture or Recirculating Aquaponics System (RAS) receive a by-product of ammonia, which is then cleaned and the water either goes back to the fish or it is not cleaned at all and as they do in the salmon farms for example they let it sink to the bottom which creates eutrophication and major problems among the marine. Those who focus on agriculture use colossal amounts of land and outdoor areas for cultivation. Most of them use chicken manure and huge amounts of pesticides for the plants to be optimal. Another alternative is that you can use aquaponics, which is a kind of ecosystem where fish and plants live and thrive on each other's residual products. The fish produce ammonia in the fish tank which eventually makes the water uninhabitable and instead of having a cleaning pump in the fish tank, the water is sent to the cultivation bed where the plants pick up the nutrients and clean the water in turn so that the water can be pumped back to the fish tank. This system makes it possible to produce both fish and plants in an optimized and safe system. Aquaponics is advantageous in that it utilizes the by-product of the fish and gives it to the plants. Where ammonia is the fish’s residual product that turns into nitrite and then to nitrate and it is precisely nitrate that the plants use as nutrition, in turn, they purify the water that goes back into the fish tanks, which gives a closed cycle. At present, aquaponics has not been able to impact on a large scale more than in a few places, partly because there is ignorance of how it works and partly because it requires technical knowledge of how to build a functioning system together. The project goal that we strive for is to get a PlugNPlay solution that enables people who want to invest in aquaponics, but do not have the technical knowledge to compile a functioning optimal system. The project group will also compare different farming methods and make measurements on which medium is the best to grow in, but also what kind of food that works to grow in an efficient way.

Annotation:
The vast majority of the world's M&A activities are represented by takeovers ofprivately held targets. Yet, this sector of the market for corporate control has received very little attention from academic researchers. This thesis thus sets out to provide a comparative analysis, both theoretically and empirically, of gains to bidders of private targets in relation to gains to bidders of public targets. When targets are privately held as opposed to publicly held or listed, there are reasons to believe that bidders gamer material gains even with full competition. By recognising the possibility that the decision of the owners of a private target to agree to a takeover (i) represents the exit strategy or (ii) is reflective of the passage of the firm through its life cycle, this thesis provides a new perspective on the wealth consequences of private-firm takeovers on bidder shareholders. The empirical analyses in this thesis reveal that not only bidder gains, but also bidder characteristics, distinctly differ between private-firm takeovers and takeovers of public targets or divested subsidiaries. This thesis also provides evidence on the largely unexplored determinants of the choice of payment methods in private-firm takeovers. In several important aspects, the findings contribute to the extant evidence on determinants of payment methods in takeovers of public targets. Considering the costs known to be associated with the decision to go public facing the owners of a privately held company, acquisition by a listed bidder is potentially a costeffective means by which the firm owners can exit or the firm can gain access to funds necessary for financing the unexploited investment opportunities. The common knowledge of the cost savings arising from choosing the takeover route implies that a portion of these savings is also available to be garnered by bidders of private targets. On the other hand, these savings are either trivial or absent when targets already have access to the capital market (i.e., public targets and divested subsidiaries). Given that the bidder is willing to pay the acquisition price that fully reflects its valuation of its target, there is hence no guarantee that the bidder earns positive gains when acquiring a public target whereas the exit costs savings provide a source of ex ante gains to the bidder if it opts for a private target. Around the bid announcement, bidders of private targets are found to earn positive gains. In contrast, when taking into account the event windows leading up to the announcement date, evidence emerges that public-firm bidders experience losses and bidders of divested subsidiaries overall fare no better than breaking-even around the bid announcement. Also at variance with the experience of public-firm takeovers, this thesis documents that announcement-period gains to bidders of private targets are positive irrespective of the payment method and that equity financing in private-firm takeovers leads to larger bidder gains. This positive announcement-period effect of equity financing appears attributable to the positive information about the bidder's prospects rather than the expected performance monitoring by the target owners. Given the considerably small size and closely held ownership of private targets, which are in contrast with public targets and divested subsidiaries, bidders of private targets are unlikely to be motivated by the empire-building objectives. Instead, the characteristics of private targets imply that their bidders maximise the realisation of expected synergies rather than personal utility for the bidder managers. The closely held ownership and small size of private targets also imply that they are much easier to integratethan public targets or divested subsidiaries. The analysis of long-term bidder abnormalreturn reveals that while private-firm bidders breakeven during the post-acquisition period,11 there is evidence that public-finn bidders, and particularly bidders of divested subsidiaries, experience losses. The difference in ownership structure between private targets and public targets also leads to the difference in the change in ownership concentration in the bidders. While equity financing leads to a ceteris paribus increase in ownership concentration in privatefirm bidders, the opposite follows for public-firm bidders. The owners of a private target in an equity offer, as rational large shareholders, have economic incentives to monitor the performance of the bidder managers whereas atomistic shareholders of public targets in an equity offer do not. During the post-acquisition period, equity financing overall leads to a normal rate of return for private-firm bidders. This finding is consistent with the notion of rational pricing that the amount of compensation for the monitoring services by the target owners in equity offers reflects the incremental benefits of the services accruing to other bidder shareholders. In contrast, equity financing results in long-term losses for publicfirm bidders. Considering the differences in the wealth effects on bidder shareholders between private-firm takeovers and public-firm takeovers, this thesis also empirically explores two additional largely neglected issues. First, why do some bidders choose private targets and some others choose public targets or divested subsidiaries? Secondly, why equity financing rather than cash financing is used in some takeovers of private targets and not others (and vice versa)? In the main, the results of investigating the potential factors influencing bidders' target choice decision reveal the importance of managerial ism in the bidder and the pressure to improve growth prospects facing the bidder. However, hubris arising from past performance does not appear to affect bidders' target choice decision. Lll The analysis of the potential determinants of payment methods in private-firm takeovers shows that the level of informational asymmetry in private-firm takeovers is likely to be trivial. The analysis also provides evidence that the choice of payment methods in privatefirm takeovers is ceteris paribus endogenous to the investment objective(s) of the target owners and that agency conflicts in the bidder can deter the target owners who have the objective to hold equity stakes in the combined firm.

The rising costs of attending college have students, families, and other stakeholders calling for evidence of gains that result from earning a degree (Burrows, 1999; Jongbloed, Enders and Salerno, 2008; Julian, 2012). They expect that graduates to achieve cognitive gains in communication, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently and in teams (SHEEO, 2005). Additionally, the global marketplace has created the need for graduates to achieve sociocultural gains; they need to understand different cultures and successfully interact with diverse peoples (Gurin, 1999; Leville, 2006). Research has shown that different experiences influence cognitive and sociocultural gains including student faculty interaction (SFI) and intergroup contact (IGC) (Cole, 2007; Kuh and Hu, 2001; Thompson, 2001; Umbach and Porter, 2002). However, cognitive and sociocultural gains have typically been explored independently. Moreover, researchers have not examined the demographic factors that, combined with SFI and IGC, promote such gains. The purpose of this study was to determine if SFI, IGC, and demographic factors (gender, race or academic major) explain variance in cognitive and sociocultural gains among college seniors. The sample included seniors who completed the College Student Experiences Questionnaire (CSEQ) Fourth edition. The results of the hierarchical linear regression revealed that SFI and IGC have a significant influence on both cognitive and sociocultural gains. However, the impact of these predictors is not experienced by every student uniformly; a student's sex, race and academic major matters.

Every movement has a goal. For reaching, the goal is to move the hand to a specific location. For locomotion, however, goals for each step cycle are unclear and veiled by the automatic nature of lower limb control. What mechanical variables does the nervous system "care" about during locomotion? Abundant evidence from the biomechanics literature suggests that the force generated on the ground, or endpoint force, is an important task variable during hopping and running. Hopping and running are called bouncing gaits for the reason that the endpoint force trajectory is like that of bouncing on a pogo stick. In this work, I captured kinematics and kinetics of human bouncing gaits, and tested whether structure in the inherent step-to-step variability is consistent with control of endpoint force. I found that joint torques covary from step to step to stabilize only peak force. When two limbs are used to generate force on the ground at the same time, individual forces of the limbs are not stabilized, but the total peak force is stabilized. Moreover, passive dynamics may be exploited during forward progression. These results suggest that the number of kinetic goals is minimal, and this simple control scheme involves goals for discrete times during the gait cycle. Uncovering biomechanical goals of locomotion provides a functional context for understanding how complex joints, muscles, and neural circuits are coordinated.

ABSTRACT MANAGERIAL INCENTIVES AND TAKEOVER WEALTH GAINS By EBRU REIS DECEMBER 5, 2006 Committee Chair: Dr. Jayant R. Kale Major Department: Finance This study examines the relationship between managerial equity incentives and takeover wealth gains both for target and acquirer firms. Although there is some research about the effect of acquirer managers’ incentives on acquirer wealth gains, this paper is one of the first to investigate the effect of target managers’ incentives on the wealth effects of target firms in corporate takeovers. In addition, prior research has focused on the alignment effect of equity incentives in takeovers. However, takeovers provide an opportunity to liquidate personal equity portfolio for managers who hold an undiversified portfolio of their firms’ stock. In this study, I identify two hypotheses that potentially explain the effect of target managers’ incentives on wealth gains. While incentive alignment hypothesis predicts a positive relationship, diversification driven-liquidity hypothesis predicts a negative relationship between target managerial incentives and target wealth gains. I use a sample of 656 successful and 104 failed acquisitions over the period 1994-2003 to test these competing hypotheses. I find that for targets that are less (more) diversified, equity incentives are negatively (positively) related to wealth effects. I also find that the target managerial incentives increase the success probability of a takeover bid and this positive effect is less pronounced for diversified target managers. Based on these results, I conclude that incentive alignment argument is dominated by liquidity argument in less diversified target firms, however, holds in diversified firms. For acquirer managers, I do not find any evidence that supports incentive alignment or diversification arguments.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the aviation repairable system gains monitored under the UICP B35 carcass tracking program. It examines the composition of the system gains for selected activities and by aircraft type. Research was conducted on repairable turn-in procedures from the activity level to the carcass tracking program via the ATAC Hub. Emphasis was placed on identifying areas which would enable better retrograde management within the Inventory Control Point, at the activity level, and at the ATAC Hub. Seven areas were identified which offer potential repairable management improvement. Recommendations are provided which would assist in minimizing system gains and more accurately reflect the overall value of excess material.

Decision makers face gains and losses decisions on an everyday basis. Unlike conventional economic theories, the real decisions people make are influenced by various factors. Focality, for example, is an important payoff-irrelevant factor that significantly influences individual decision makings. In this thesis, we report three studies of decision makings influenced by focality from a behavioural perspective. In the second chapter, we extend the analysis of a riskless choice experiment reported recently by Hochman et al. (2014). I run an experiment where participants select from among sets of standard playing cards valued by a simple formula. In some sessions, participants are given a prepayment associated with some of the cards, which need not be the earnings-maximizing ones. Hochman et al. (2014) find that participants choose an earnings maximizing card less frequently when another card is prepaid. I find our experiment replicate this result under the original instructions, but not with instructions which explain the payment process more explicitly. Participants who state they do not consider themselves good at mathematics make earnings-maximizing choices much less frequently overall, but those who express self-confidence in mathematics drive the treatment effect. Our results suggest that even when comparisons among choices require only simple quantitative reasoning steps, market designers and regulators may need to pay close attention to how the terms of offers are expressed, explained, and implemented. In the third chapter, inspired by a historical event–“the treaty of Hong Canal”, I use experimental methods to test the effects of joint endowment on coordination success in tacit bargaining games. It has been well established that people use existing focal points to facilitate coordination and the power of such cues declines as payoff becomes increasingly unequal. I conduct an experiment in which two players jointly engaged in an interactive team building activity and together earned the stakes over which they bargain. In the team building exercise, two players jointly complete a shortest route task in a metaphor of a treasure hunt. After the two treasure hunters complete the journey, they independently decide how to divide their rewards using a tacit bargaining table. I find that when participants bargain over the fruits that result from joint activity, they are more likely to coordinate the focal point equilibrium. We contribute to the existing literature of team reasoning and focal point by direct testing the influence of increased group identity on tacit bargaining games. In the fourth chapter, I run an experiment of a dynamic real-time bargaining and report the results. The experiment captures a situation where two players have the opportunity to cooperate and share economic surplus in continuous time (peace), however at any point of time, both players can turn the fruitful assets into battlefield at non-recoverable costs (wars). The objective of the game is to capture players’ bargaining stances during dynamic interactions and examine the influence of personal traits on bargaining outcomes. The results show that majority of the participants exert costly efforts into “wars”, which results substantial efficiency loss. Focality has little influence on the efficiency attribute of bargaining outcomes; however has significant influence on the distributive features of bargaining outcomes. Moreover, I find players who do not come into “wars” systematically use turn-taking strategies to achieve relatively equal and efficient outcomes; And finally, females incur higher costs of wars; pairs with opposite Locus of Control traits incur least costs of conflict.
