The diploma work is focused on importance of movement activities for seniors. The movement represents the basic manifestation of life, influences the physical health, helps psychologically and reduces psychical problems. Ageing is a process which runs individually and during which the human organism goes through certain changes. Everyone, who works with seniors, should be familiar with basic information about the ageing process. Physical activities are fundamental for this age group, they maintain the physical ability and the psychical immunity. They help handling everyday situations. In order that the exercises had the desired result, it is necessary to follow certain conventions and respect individual differences. The task of the people working with senior is to motivate them enough. Nowadays, we can find a large offer of appropriate physical activities which aim at a self-sufficient and happy senior life.

Title: Health education in elementary school Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to create an educational manual for health education and its verification. Methods: In our thesis we used quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis and the method of comparison. We used a questionnaire as the quantitative method and for the qualitative method we interviewed selected students. We apllied the method of comparison in the evaluation of student's knowledge in pre and post questionnaires and in comparing the knowledge of 9th and 7th graders. Results: We discovered that 7th graders improved their knowledge and the greatest improvement was reached in the topics of self-conception and physical self- conception. Also we found that the knowledge of 7th graders are better than the knowledge of 9th graders. Keywords: body care, nutrition, self-conception and physical self-conception, physical activity.

The thesis deals with a nurse and the care of her own health. The theoretical part mainly deals with mental health, proper regimen and physical as well as mental load on nurses in relation to the health care job. The main aim of the thesis was to identify the factors affecting the regimen of nurses and their care about their own health, and to try to find how the work load and department character is related to possible occurrence of health problems. Partial goals and working hypotheses were set for this purpose. Magda Španihelová Our (Beautiful, Healthy, Modern and National) Body: Visual Representation of Physical Culture and Sports in the Context of National Identity Formation in the Interwar Czechoslovakia Abstract This PhD thesis describes visual representation of partial aspects of physical culture and sports in interwar Czechoslovakia. The general phenomenon of social affiliation and national identification is critically observed in four central chapters, together with the usage of symbolic figures that are in periodical visual productions exposed as different body types. Aside the Sokol gymnastics club and its' attempt to formulate the national body, the central figure is the wrestler Gustav Frištenský who as the bearer of traditional concepts of health and beauty also represented the responsible modern citizenship. The dancer Milča Mayerová provides the framework for the exposure of dance culture as a characteristic phenomenon of the cultivation of the female body by movement, which enabled the body to mediate and visualise certain processes of modernity. The athlete Zdena Koubková completes the evocation of national bodies with a modern athletic figure of extreme abilities. Thesis deals with physical activity as a leisure time spending in the 20th century. It compares two organizations which provide conditions for developing physical fitness the Sokol and fitness center. The theoretical part is focused on detailed description of both organizations and basic terms of the topic. The practical part is based on an assumption that today society needs to spend time on active leisure. It uses information obtained from a question-form and observation in order to determine positive influence of both organizations on the society. This Diploma Dissertation deals with research expressing the propotion of P.E. lessons to particular kinds of sport or disciplines. I visited eight randomly chosen schools in České Buddějovice where I tried to inspect subject of P.E. lessons in primary schools. I made a date for coming on the particular schools and asked for primary school classroom books of the school years 2005/2006 and 2006/2007 where I found out how many leesons and what kind of sport each school practised. I think P.E. lessons at schools are the only physical activities of most children nowadays. Obtained data are written down to the charts and graphs. In theoretical part of this dissertation I deal with cause of obesity, prevention of obesity, risk factors and what and how much food should be eaten.

The work deals with theoretical research of basis of Environmental Psychology for Outdoor Education. It answers two questions ? why in the conceptions of Outdoor Education is nature the preferred environment and what are the benefits of nature for physical, mental and social health. The answers to theses questions are in the work described through theories of environmental preference and restorative effects of nature. There are three major sections of the work. The first part discusses the basis, principles and contents of Environmental Psychology and Outdoor Education, the core terminology of the work, and the nodal points of Environmental Psyhcology and the theory of Outdoor Education. Second part describes those theories and concepts of Environmental Psychology which are related to the primary and subsidiary research questions. The thesis entitled Nurse as a representative of a healthy lifestyle consists of two main parts, one theoretical and one practical. The theoretical part consists of theoretical knowledge of the nurses´ lifestyle coming from their profession, topics related to the personality of general nurses, nurses´ lifestyle and mental hygiene. The practical part of the thesis is a quantitative research, which is based on responds of 193 nurses in a questionnaire survey about the impact of education on adherence on a healthy lifestyle. Research shows that most nurses know well the factors of a healthy life style which they could potentially have influence on, however they are not able to apply this knowledge to their life style. Education on correct healthy lifestyle and length of practice has no impact on nurses´ healthy lifestyle and their families. Discussion and conclusion summarize the research results.

My diploma work is focusing on the health problems of selected factors in the working enviroment of grinding the metal castings. There are high-risk factors, which are harmful to worker´s health, especially physical stress, noise, dust and vibrations, which are passed on hands. The employer is under the obligation to take precautions to carry on worker´s health, in consideration of exceed the health limits. The aim of this diploma work was setting the efficiency of precautions to health protection in work enviroment. The situation had been monitoring in a company in the South Bohemia over ten years. There were used results of factor´s precautions (noise, dust, vibrations) in work enviroment, where workers grind the metal castings by hand grinders. The monitoring ensemble was created by employess in a company, which makes the metal castings by hand grinders in its work enviroment. To data collecting were used the following methods: non-aligned observation, conversation with the chief of the company, studying of positive law and technical literature incl. test codes of the health institute (department Ceske Budejovice). The data of the test codes were processed by the secundary analysis and summarized to tables and graphs. Within qualitative analysis I determinated four research questions, which were answered gradually in my work: 1)Which precautions are carry out by employers to particular factors of employee´s health protection? 2)What is the factor´ s efficiency? 3)What impact do the precautions have on results of factor´s measuring? 4)Which precautions can I recommend on the grounds of the evalutation of the work enviroment? Both means of collective and individual protection belong to the precautions of worker´s health protection today. The technical, technologiacal and organisational precautions are included to collective protections. The individual precautions are focusing especially on employees and offer the substitute solutions. All precautions are specific to individual factors. I found out, that all precautions, which are used by the employers in work enviroment of metal casting, are effective. Especially we can talk about the precautions to protection of employee´s health against excessive dust (instalation of air ventilation with strong effect), which caused the exceed of dust concetration in work enviroment of grinding. Finally I can say, that this branch of metal casting has been connecting with certain high-risk factors all the time. Although all the protective precautions has been realized, the health limits given for noise, vibrations passed on hands and dust are still exceed. For this reason it´s very important to regularly inform the workers of high-risk factors, which they could meet in their work enviroment of cast grinding.

The objective of this thesis is to define the role of employers in the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases, more precisely to explore the existing effective opportunities for the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases that employers can provide at workplace. Consequently, find out the attitudes of employers in the Czech Republic to these prevention interventions possibilities in comparison with the attitudes of employees. Finally, demonstrate the effectiveness of the selected prevention tool in a case study of one employer. The theoretical part of the thesis defines the main non-communicable diseases, their prevalence and incidence on a global scale and in the Czech Republic. The main risk factors of these diseases are described with an emphasis on modifiable behavioural risk factors. The review of the latest studies summarizes the evidence-based information on the impact of key behavioural lifestyle factors in the prevention of chronic non-communicable diseases. The possibilities to reduce risk factors of non-communicable diseases by employers are discussed in the analysis of available up-to-date scientific literature. This work follows the studies focused on obesity, its global extent and its serious health and economic impact. At the same time, the work examines the unsuccessful fight of public policies which try to reverse growing prevalence of obesity. Nevertheless, the main goal of the thesis is a discussion about priorities of new orientation in the research on the causes of the obesity epidemic and effectiveness of precautions that were taken in many countries and international organizations with the main aim to stop the obesity and its consequences.
