The topic of my diploma thesis is the architectonical study of the new synagogue of Frýdek-Místek. The plot contained the original synagogue in the past, which was, like many other synagogues in Czechia, burned down by the Nazis. The only memento to the original synagogue left was the Jewish school. Its frontage was however stripped of all architecturally valuable elements and therefore lost all its historical value. For this reason, in the scope of this thesis, I have decided to tear down the old building and create a completely new complex, which will comply with the requirements of the Jewish quahal, with regards to architecture and utilization of the object. I’ve designed a monument, consisting of simple stone blocks in place of the old, torn down synagogue. The stone blocks mark the location of the outer walls of the original synagogue.

The diploma project handles the design of the synagogue and other buildings of the Jewish community in Frýdek - Místek. The project is formed as an architectural study. The complex of the Jewish community includes, in addition to the synagogue itself, a kosher restaurant, which is characterized by a specific cooking convention, as well as a Jewish gallery, a library and the administration of the Jewish community. The whole complex is complemented by an underground car park. The area is located close to the border of the historic city center. The land is not monotonous, in some parts it is relatively flat, in others it is sloping. It is bounded on the north by a blind road and on the south by road II. class on Revoluční street. At present, the territory of the former synagogue is unused and neglected. The idea of the design is based on simple principles of basic geometric shapes - circle and square. The circle is a symbol of heaven and eternity and the square is a symbol of earthliness and transience. The symbolism of numbers is also applied in the proposal, especially "1" - a sign of unity, indivisibility, as well as God; "2" - number of opposites - heaven and earth; "3" completeness and stability. From the compositional point of view, it is a line of 3 blocks of the same base and height, while one of them is fitted with a cylinder, which is the tallest of all objects. This results from the Jewish tradition. All objects are designed on a platform that symbolizes the ascent to the Temple Mount. The above mentioned functions are divided into separate objects. A uniform architectural language is chosen for all buildings. The principles of construction and layout of individual buildings differ according to their operation.

The thesis deals with a hypothetical project of a new building complex of a synagogue, a kosher restaurant and a community centre at the location of the former synagogue in Frýdek. The proposal includes a memorial of the destroyed synagogue and Jewish community, as well as the incorporation of the complex into the urban structure of the city. The project proposes a building distributed into three volumes. The restaurant and community centre are connected by an underground garage within a U-shaped floor plan. The buildings are axially symmetrical, white, with expressive rhythmical perforations of the facade. They surround the building of the synagogue in the shape of a seven-sided pyramid, which is clad with blue tempered steel and creates a strong contrast with the associated buildings. The whole complex is oriented towards the park and the chateau in Frýdek, from which it is clearly visible and thanks to its distinct volumetric and material expression and axially symmetrical composition creates a new landmark for the city.

Architectural study deals with the design of a new synagogue in Frýdku-Místku, located on the site of the original synagogue from 19th centruy, which was burnt by fanaticized Germans in 1939 and then demolished. Nowadays, it is an undeveloped area without any historical significant. There are other functions beside the building of synagogue – mikveh (ritual bath) and its access tunnel, the jewish community administration and kosher restaurant with two shops. The design concept works with the symbolish of the Star of David, triangles‘ intersection. The synagogue depicts the Mount Sinai, where the Ten Commandments were received.

The assignment of the diploma thesis was the elaboration of an architectural study of a new synagogue in the Frýdek-Místek. The solved area includes the original lands of the Jewish community, on which stood a synagogue, a Jewish school and a rabbinate. The synagogue was burned down in 1939 and currently only the rebuilt Jewish school building is located in the area. The main idea of the design is to build a memorial on the site of the original synagogue and a new synagogue with an adjoining community centre. The main goal is to support the development of the Jewish community in the city and to remind citizens and visitors of the history, because of which the Jewish community in Frýdek-Místek disappeared. In contrast to the monument, the entire building is set in the terrain so that the terrain passes freely in a public space with the main entrance to the community centre and a kosher restaurant. The building opens up to the south side of the slope and offers a view of the historic city centre of Frýdek. The area is connected by a footbridge to the park under the castle. Part of the community centre is a space for a ritual bath - Mikveh, the administration of the Jewish community and a multifunctional hall, which can be opened to the area in front of the residential staircase. The area is separated from Revoluční Street by a retaining wall and thus form an attractive place to spend time near the historic centre.

Diploma thesis focuses on the processing of detailed documentation for newly-built mixed-use building in Frýdek-Místek. The building has three above ground floors. On the first floor there is a restaurant with facilities. On the second and third floor there are office spaces. The building has combined support system, which is a reinforced concrete slab carried by masonry wall system of sand-lime blocks and reinforced concrete columns. The entire building is insulated using external contact thermal insulation system outside the first floor, which is designed ventilated facade with thermal insulation of mineral wool. The roof of the building is designed as a non-walkable flat single roof.

Druhá část je věnována dotazníkovému šetření, které probíhalo v měsíci září 2006 na Úřadu práce ve Frýdku-Místku. Výsledkem mé práce jsou doporučení a návrhy ve formě čerpání prostředků z Evropského sociálního fondu, systému investičních pobídek, snížení prostředků v oblasti pasivní politiky zaměstnanosti a její navýšení v oblasti aktivní politiky zaměstnanosti, zrušení či zastavení růstu minimální mzdy a dále také ve formě podpory počítačové gramotnosti s cílem zefektivnit způsob vyhledávání práce prostřednictvím nových technologií, především internetu.

Diploma graduation thesis deals with analytical tool called Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Paper explains this analytic tool and focuses on its possible application in municipal decision-making process. Thesis carries out specific application of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) targeted towards disposal of mixed municipal waste collected from Frýdek-Místek city. Municipal waste management issues are mentioned in relation with Frýdek-Místek and year 2007. The aim is to analyze nowadays landfilling of mixed municipal waste done in Frýdek-Místek and to examine the possibility of incineration of mixed municipal waste in order to reach minimal total environmental impacts. The paper offers improvement suggestions based on extensive LCA study.

The thesis deals with the active labour market policy in the Frýdek-Místek district, where is the problem of higher rates of unemployment and long-term unemployment. Active labour policy has an important role in solving the problem of unemployment in the region. The thesis describes the nature of the local labour market and assesses the active employment policy programs used in the years 2006 - 2010 in terms of their impact on employment and employability of participants. In particular, the thesis focuses on retraining, which is one of the most used tools of active employment policy, and monitors the creation of new jobs that directly affect the situation of individuals in the labour market. The thesis evaluates the targeting of retraining, which significantly affects their results. Using statistical data analysis methods are examined gross effects of retraining and monitored the effects of active employment policy to selected target groups of unemployed people.

The aim of the diploma thesis is to construct a steel shopping mall hall. The construction is located in Frýdek-Místek. The whole object can be divided in two parts. One part of the building is an atrium with a cross bridge made from glass. The roof construction of the atrium is designed as system of cylindrical lattice girders within purlins are set up. The other part of the construction is multistoried shopping mall with terrace designed as composite steel and concrete structure. The whole ground plan size of the construction is 72 m x 120 m. The height of the construction above the ground is 12.06 m. The cross-links are built up to 6 m one. There were created two versions of the construction. The most convenient version is described in more details. The outcome of the thesis is a comparison of two above mentioned versions. The whole project is based on officially recognised standard ČSN EN. The construction was designed in RFEM programme.

At first, there was made traffic forecast of generated traffic from regional planning. After that, there were made traffic forecast from relocation of road II/477. This diploma thesis studies the issue of travel behaviour in the systems with abolished fares of public transport, so called free fare public transport policy (FFPT), which aredominantly influencing the transport system in favour of one means of transport. The main aim of this paper is to figure out how the concept of FFPT is affecting the choice of means of transport and what is the influence of the FFPT on the dynamic in the given transport system. Besides conceptual framing of main theoretical knowledge regarding the issue of travel behaviour and development of transportation systems, the paper is using analysis of practical implementation of the FFPT concept and also, on the case of Frýdek- Místek, the case study of specifics system with implemented FFPT. The results indicate that introduction of the FFPT is effective way how to influence travel behaviour in the favour of public transport and to change conditions in the given transport system, which is then more variable. It's important to mention, FFPT concept does not represents universal tool how to influence development of transport systems while it is just one measure out of many others. The aim of my works is to considerate original and recent state of BPEJ in a cadastral area Smilovice at Třinec and in a cadastral area Třanovice. The quality of farmland in the Czech republic is evaluated by means of land valuation. The basic valuation unit of land valuation process is so called BPEJ (valuated soil ecological unit) unit is marked by five--digit code. In the beginning of my work I deal with the structure the BPEJ code. Next part is devoted to the methodology of defining and mapping of BPEJ in which I try to describe the process of implementation. This is followed by the practical part where I mention climatic, hydrological, geological and soil conditions of areas of interest. In conclusion, I compare the results of original and newly updated conditions in both cadastral territories.

This thesis is concerned with the process of founding, development, decline and destruction of the Jewish community in the Region of Frýdek and Místek. This community represents one of the Jewish communities in Moravia and Silesia being evolved due to the emancipation of the Jews. In comparison with the majority of the existing treatises on the Moravian and Silesian "emancipatory" Jewish communities, this thesis focuses not only on external phenomenons (the number and socio-economic status of the Jews, the construction of religious buildings), but also and mainly pays attention to the Jewish community itself, to its internal evolution and limits, different concepts of its development, to religious and later also to national identity of the members of the Frýdek-Místek Jewish community. The thesis also traces the limits of the integration of the Jews into the surrounding society, as well as the territorial specifics result- ing from the fact that this Jewish community was located in the Moravian-Silesian border. 1

The diploma thesis "Crisis readiness of the hospital in Frydek - Mistek relating to selected extraordinary events" deals with issues concerning current state of readiness of the Hospital in Frydek-Mistek for selected extraordinary events and the tries to create methods and approaches to improve the hospital's emergency preparedness. I chose mainly qualitative research with quantitative elements for answering research question. First step was random choice from hospitals in Moravian-Silesian Region, so I visited the hospital in Frydek-Mistek and I made data retrieval dealing with extraordinary events. Based on my own observations and the provided documents I detected an incorrect crisis preparedness plan and because it is important to have such an operative plan, which deals with extraordinary events and the inaccurate plan could place hospital to risk, I decided to revise the plan by using special methology, which is set up for this issue. Since the risks involved in the crisis preparedness plan were insufficient in my opinion, I conducted my own risk analysis of the external and internal environment focusing on hospital operation in risk. Then I used the "KARS" method, which is a qualitative risk analysis within its correlation. I determined the risks that should be resolved primarily and after that I revised the plan by using new knowledge. The result of the diploma thesis is a draft plan for crisis readiness of the hospital in Frydek - Mistek, which could be used and refilled by hospital managment alternatively. The plan will be handed over to the hospital management.

Study of sources and literature on the issue of changes in all spheres of society after 1989 with an emphasis on the transformation of health care. The diploma thesis was written to find out a frequency of child sexual abuse in our community. The research was especially focused on younger part of the population. The questionnaires used for the research were filled-out by student of 3rd year of high school in North-Moravia region. We asked them about age, sex, their nationality and nationality of their parents, with who they live at home, if they have some sibling, what job their parents have and whether they have some experience with some kind of sexual abuse. If they do, what kind of sexual abuse it was, who was the person and when it happened. The people, who met some kind of sexual abuse, are more likely to have some psychical problems, take some habit-forming substances, smoke or drink alcohol. Therefore a part of the questionnaire was connected with these problems. We tried to find out the relationship among the abuse and psychical disorders or taking habit-forming substances in our society. As a whole 208 students took part in our research. 85 of them were boys (40.87%) and 123 girls (59.13%). The age of respondents was 17-19 years. Most of them were of the Czech nationality - 206 (99.04%). So were their parents. In some sporadic cases we could also find the Polish, Greek or Slovak nationality. This master's thesis The picture of concentration camps in Czech prose of the 50's analyses selected literary works from 1950᾿s. These works are presented by different author's approaches from presented reality. First part of this work focuses on concept of "Holocaust" and on possibility of its verb representation as well. Another part of thesis deals with development of "literature with topic of Holocaust" from 1945 to contemporary times. The emphasis is placed to the texts from 1950᾿s and 1960᾿s that had formed reader's memory. Next chapter observe a permeation and reciprocal influencing of historical and fictional discourse. The picture of life in Nazi concentration camps, the author's character creation as well as representation of Jewishness are analyzed in these works: A Box of Lives by Norbert Frýd, Osm odtamtud by E.
