Peru is the first Asparagus exporter in the World, it is commercialized principally to the American and European market by its high quality; the diverse microclimates variety does that this vegetable takes place (is produced) throughout the whole year, which does that Peru is considered a Country with supplying advantages to the World with respect to other countries. To reach the Vision 2023, the following long term targets must be gotten: (a) The Peruvian exports of Asparagus will be of US$ 757 millions, (b) Peru will have a market participation of 15 % on the world exports of frozen asparagus, (c) The national consumption will reach 15:000 tons that it represents 5 % of the national production, (d) 70% of the plantations of asparagus will be provided(rely on) with system of meteorological monitoring to control the environmental variables and to produce asparagus of high quality, (e) The annual average increase in the index of costs of the industry will be lower than 2.5 %, and (f) In the 2023 national in Peru where plants asparagus will yield exceeding 10 tonnes per hectare The growth of the sector has started in the 90s and today it continues in ascent although the year 2008 and 2009 it present the world crisis, which produced the stagnation of the exports, but again it is in growth process. The analysis allowed us to select strategies for the solution of the problems that has the asparagus industry in our country. Regarding contingency strategies we have: Increase the internal consumption through supermarkets, cookbooks; monitoring of the cultivation; to prioritize the commercialization of fresh asparagus, technological investment, investment in information systems, technical training to producers. On the other hand, the risk strategies are the following ones: Build infrastructure type greenhouses to control the conditions of the cultivation, to Create certifications that guarantee the quality of the inputs that are used and to repair or build routes of communication that connect the cultivation areas with their markets or port of shipment. The implementation of these raised strategies is tied to Mission, Vision and the targets of long term raised in the project and they will make it possible to get the targets about 2023

Chávez, Arraya Iván Manuel, Mosqueira Iván Alberto Marroquín und Cabrera David Jean Maticorena. „Planeamiento estratégico de la Empresa Novopan Perú“. Master's thesis, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018. http://tesis.pucp.edu.pe/repositorio/handle/123456789/11751.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleNovopan Peru is a company founded in 1978, with the objective of importing and commercializing agglomerated wood boards, with melamine. It is part of a corporation, whose head office is in Ecuador, where the production plant is located, which uses state-ofthe- art technology to manufacture high-quality boards with the capacity to meet the increase in demand. In order for this company to develop competitive advantage, this strategic plan has been created, using the Sequential Model designed by D'Alessio (2015). In this process a new mission and a new vision was designed, where it is proposed to consolidate its leadership in the Peruvian market, generating profitability and giving decent jobs, with constant professional training. The way in which this will be achieved is through the implementation of strategies, which have been widely analyzed and include aspects such as market penetration and the development of new products or services. Additionally, vertical integration is contemplated, through sales through a web page, as well as through a network of own stores. This will reduce the dependency that currently exists in two large distributors, while expanding the base of customers and final consumers. By the year 2022 it is expected to have an integrated company backwards, with production in Ecuador, and forward, reaching end users and serving several segments of the national market, with a presence in the main provinces of Peru

Master's thesis, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018. http://tesis.pucp.edu.pe/repositorio/handle/123456789/11837.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleGlobally, the main mango producers are India and China, followed by Thailand and Indonesia, while in Latin America, Mexico stands out as the world's 8th largest producer and the first exporter to the United States. On the other hand, Peru is located in the 18th place, cultivating different varieties of mangoes, among which are grafted or improved, such as Hade, Kent and Tommy Atkins that have international demand and are therefore exported. The demand for this fruit is growing and the Peruvian Mango Industry should take this opportunity to position itself among the world's two leading exporters, supplying various markets such as South Korea, Japan and China, as well as the markets currently served, which are Holland and the United States. By the year 2027, the aim is to lead exports in monetary terms, which will increase the volume of production and employment, as well as the yield per hectare through training and the use of state-of-the-art technology, especially in irrigation. All this will lead the Peruvian Mango Industry to see its profitability increase, benefiting both large companies and traditional producers. This will be achieved by implementing strategies that have been extensively discussed in this document, such as: (a) developing the US market for processed foods; (b) penetrate Asian markets with fresh mango; (c) developing organic mango crops; (d) integrate vertically with retailers and wholesalers to encourage the consumption of Peruvian mango in the national market; (e) vertically integrated forward, so that each farmer association or cooperative has its own marketing unit to reduce the number of intermediaries and increase profitability; and (f) horizontally integrate all small mango producers into associations that allow them access to financing, technology and markets

During the last decade, the modern grocery retail in Peru has seen a progressive increase of the number of stores, particularly in the metropolitan area of Lima, allowing access to a modern option of retail to more consumers. This growth has a strong correlation with the economic growth of the country, the increase of the per-capita income, and the access to consumer credit among the Peruvian families. Despite these factors, that are a common denominator in the growth of the modern grocery retail in different countries, the growth of this industry in Peru depends on more particular factors that are related to the culture and the dynamic of employment of their population. This strategic planning for the modern grocery retail in Peru for the year 2026, analyses the opportunities that the local economic factors provides to this industry, and establishes the strategies to continue with its growth. Although it is necessary for the country to maintain the pace of the economic growth that keeps a steady per-capita income, the modern grocery retail in Peru also needs for the culture of purchase to develop into a more modern approach that will adapt to the dynamics of the Peruvian families as more members of their households enter the labor force. The proposed strategies are aligned with the vision, and aimed for the industry to provide to more Peruvian families with access to a modern option of grocery retail that will improve their quality of life

The paper and paperboard sector is made up of companies producing paper and paperboard and companies engaged in printing activities. The paper and paper industry in the Peruvian market has a high potential for development and growth due to the growth of the agro-export, construction, sugar and consumer sectors in particular. The largest production and demand in the world is in Asia, North America and Europe. In Peru there is a tendency to increase the consumption of absorbent paper and corrugated paperboard, the economic stability of the country is in favor of the development of the industry, the increase of agroindustrial exports and the opening of new markets. Peru still depends on inputs and raw materials that are not found in the national market, which is why it is necessary to combat this dependence with integrated processes from the manufacture of pulp and pulp to the production of paper end products and paperboard. Also maintaining a high quality will open new markets to compete internationally, so it is necessary to expand installed capacity in the country's factories, another way to strengthen the industry is through the implementation of a recycling culture, a sustainable reforestation plan to stock up on raw material, to foster relationships with suppliers and customers, and above all to create new products according to the needs of consumers. Peru has all the characteristics to become a worldwide supplier of pulpwood pulp if it properly uses its energy resources as natural gas. Meanwhile a strategic plan will be implemented, which aims at the development of the industry in the short and long term, which translates into an increase in sales, profitability and job creation

Master's thesis, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018. http://tesis.pucp.edu.pe/repositorio/handle/123456789/12685.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe strategic plan proposed for the Peruvian pisco industry seeks to contribute to the development of the industry, boosting its growth and positioning in the international market. In this way, long-term objectives are focused on increasing profitability, boosting exports and promoting employment generation, thus contributing to the country's economic development. The pisco industry currently has weaknesses such as low product differentiation, high degree of informality, low technology and poor channels of distribution, but the strengths in the industry are quality and variety of products, that position it as a strong industry, with great opportunities for its development, which is influenced by external factors such as the growth of the consumption of alcoholic beverages, the increase in the purchasing power of the population and the new preferences for imported premium brands. In this regard, we propose that by 2028, Peru Will consolidate as the first pisco exporter in Latin America, positioning the Pisco Peru brand and reaching an export value of 27.7 million dollars, generating greater profitability, international sales growth and greater employment opportunities to contribute to the economic and sustainable progress of the country, based in the expansion of markets, products and new technologies that increase the productivity. Therefore, by the year 2028 the industry will reach a return (ROE) of 18%, sales in exports will increase due to the opening of new markets, which represent a volume of USD 27,700 million, and likewise, the industry will employ 3,684 people, which will contribute to the sustainability of the sector. After external and internal analysis, some strategies have been established to achieve the proposed vision, aligning these with long-term objectives, short-term objectives, as well as policies, structure and resources. All the analysis carried out shows that the Peruvian pisco industry can become a sector with high development potential

The footwear industry in Peru, which is made up of several companies and public and private institutions, has been developing over the last 20 years multiple efforts to generate greater competitiveness and face the entry of hard competitors such as manufacturers of Footwear of Asian origin that in parallel have been growing and making their way in new markets such as Latin American, becoming consolidated through the use of various strategies including the generation of economies of scale through the use of state-of-the-art technology. In the same way we can mention Brazil, who has developed certain competitive capacities that have awarded him the title of being one of the largest exporters of footwear in the region worldwide; However, the challenge is beyond a careful look at the competition, it is about developing similar or better capabilities, allowing us to generate added value to our product. Therefore, it can be said that this document constitutes a strategic plan whose objective is to seek the active participation of all the actors involved, whose actions generate competitive advantages that boost their development and competitiveness

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe objective of this study is to analyze the oil industry and propose strategic guidelines to develop the grape seed oil industry in Peru, taking advantage of remains from the Wine and Pisco industries. The grape seed oil is a product that is not currently produced in Peru, however, because of its beneficial properties for human consumption and its great taste in food, makes the product to be considered a premium oil, where a sector of the population recognizes and prefers this kind of advantage. Due to Peru's economic growth in recent years, most Peruvians have the ability to choose beneficial products for health. It is for this reason that other premium oils have been successfully established, being its main consumers those of the socioeconomic level A and B. The growth of the wine and pisco industries has been going at the same speed of the economic growth in Peru. The remains from these industries, which have no use, can be used as raw material for the production of grape seed oil. This is an advantage over other kinds of oils, as there is a large availability of raw material, which is one of the key factors for the development of this industry. As a result of our investigation, we’ve concluded that the grape seed oil industry would have the opportunity to enter the market and it must be positioned in both socioeconomic level A and B, as a premium oil. However, the industry must be established near the wine and pisco areas in order to obtain an appropriate amount of raw material that allows a production of grape seed oil that meets the demand.

Cement, gray powder and fine texture that when mixed with other elements results in one of the strongest and resistant materials available worldwide, is a key element in the construction industry. Present in a myriad of applications and everyday uses, it accompanies the development of modern societies. According to latest forecastings, it is expected a favorable scenario to the global cement industry for the coming years, with a stable average annual growth rate of more than 9% by 2020, supported, among other reasons, by the increased demand for residential projects, as a result of major purchasing power in emerging markets. In relation to Peru and Colombia, very similar characteristics were founded. First, the prospects of the industry in both countries are positive, driven by the commitment of large state investment projects, despite some cases of corruption allegations associated with a Brazilian firm. On the other hand, both countries present oligopolistic market structure, with high entry barriers and initial investments. Also, the companies selected for analysis in this study, are leaders in their markets. The study is divided into four chapters. Chapter 1 presents an analysis of the global cement industry, including Peru and Colombia, along with the main sector trends. Chapter 2, presents the financial analysis of Argos and UNACEM, including a comparative analysis section about optimal capital and risk structure, and another about working capital analysis. Chapter 3 focuses on business value analysis, which includes the description of input values, valuation, and sensitivity exercises with probabilistic scenarios. It also includes business restructuring proposals, associated with organic and inorganic growth, and assets and liabilities purchases. Finally, Chapter 4 shows the main findings of the study, with a section of conclusions and another section of recommendations

This thesis aims to develop the Strategic Planning of Avocado, in order to improve the development achieved by involving all producers and whether these medium and / or small farmers can achieve a position commensurate with the quality of the product in the world. Throughout this document see the excellent progress made in the last ten years in relation to the production and export of the avocado can be seen, but analysis also leads to the conclusion that there is much to be done in order to sustain and / or improve what has been done. The main producing countries worldwide with which we compete have built over time a number of competitive advantages that set them apart from the rest and we need to know and see if these apply to our situation and if necessary, take them as a starting point to form our own. The implementation of the recommended strategies as of 2023 will enable Peru to be in the position as the second largest producer in the world, for which we suggest the creation of the Avocado Peruvian Committee (APC) a government agency under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM). They will assume the leadership role in building and obtaining the proposed vision and, in order to take advantage of this economic boom so that all Peruvians involved in the avocado supply chain can benefit and will also encourage the other farmers to reconvert their crops to this more profitable product. The APC will have the arduous task of generating a Peruvian joint work relationship between different idiosyncrasies, possibly reaching places where the state's presence is not so visible, but the interesting thing about this challenge is that it is a form of work that Peruvians must do, so that development can reach the largest possible number of nationals, regardless of their geographic location or ethnicity.

Master's thesis, Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, 2018. http://tesis.pucp.edu.pe/repositorio/handle/123456789/12629.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleMango has been recognized worldwide as one of the most valued tropical fruits, reflecting the progressive growth of its demand in recent years, with the Piura Region being the main exponent of this growth, giving it a predominant role at the national level, not only for its important growth trend, but also because its development contributes to the economic and social growth of the country. Although the Piura Region presents competitive and comparative advantages for the development of the mango sector thanks to its fertile soils, variety of climates, its geographical characteristics and its commercial window; these advantages are overshadowed by internal weaknesses in the sector, such as the lack of investment in infrastructure and technology, as well as the low level of association among mango producers. The present work develops the strategic planning of the Mango Sector of the Piura Region, for which an external, internal, and competitive analysis of mango in the region has been carried out, making it possible to establish long-term objectives and strategies that must be implemented to consolidate Piura as the main mango producing and exporting region from Peru, to the year 2022. The importance of this work lies in the fact that the activity of the sector is concentrated in the rural areas of Piura, where the largest proportion of the region's poverty is gathered, therefore, the present work seeks to generate an impulse in the progressive growth in the quality of life of the producers, the creation of new and better jobs and in the increase of the income for the Piura Region.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe agro-export sector is experiencing in recent years a significant growth trend, mainly due to increased global demand as a result of new consumer preferences that generate great business opportunities for Peru, particularly in the Lambayeque region. In 2011, the most important markets are demanding food that is healthy, natural and of good quality, such as fruits and vegetables. The mango is being recognized as one of the most valuable tropical fruits worldwide, this is reflected in its growing demand. In the same fashion, Peru has had a progressive growth of the cultivated area and the level of exports, with the Piura region being the main example of this growth. Moreover, Peru has competitive and comparative advantages for the development of the mango sector, such as the commercial opening, the variety of climates, and its higher level of productivity that allows it to offer a quality product, however, it has not been able to take advantage of these strengths due to a significant fragmentation of the agriculture in general, as well as a low level of collaboration among producers. It should be noted that a percentage greater than 90% of the mango exports from Peru is sold to markets in Europe and the U.S., where it competes with major exporters like Mexico and Brazil, which decreases mango prices worldwide. To counter this, new markets are being introduced with better trading conditions that can be fulfilled. The Lambayeque region has geographical and climatic characteristics very conducive to making agriculture one of the main production activities that promote the creation of direct and indirect employment, however, these capabilities have not generated a stage of development in the same magnitude as Piura, nationally, or Mexico and Brazil, internationally. This thesis develops the Strategic Plan for the mango in the Lambayeque region, and is a valuable management tool where the critical factors for the development of mango are identified, which are related to increased exports, strict phytosanitary control, technological improvements, optimal development of the harvest phase, cultivation and marketing of mango, improved partnerships among producers, and integration of the entire chain, including the participation of the regional government and the related government entities. To do this, we establish long-term goals and strategies that shall be implemented to achieve the desired future.

This document proposes a strategic planning for the automotive trade sector in Peru. It has been methodically developed in ten chapters based on the theory proposed by D' Alessio (2013) in order to facilitate and increase national automotive trade and automotive parts production, since Peru is not an automobile producer but importer for local consumption. In addition, this strategic planning aims to increase the car demand enough to think in a future automobile assembly plant implementation. This means that besides to promote a major automobile holding per capita, also promotes the renewal of the fleet, with the benefits that this renewal could bring, such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions, reduced accidents by mechanical failures, more efficient vehicles, among others. In this context, the paper structure proposes an analysis of both the country and the sector as well as the factors that influence the development of both. Then the short-term objectives are constructed, based on the strategies derived from addressing the strengths and weaknesses versus opportunities and threats of the said sector. Once identified the short-term objectives, they constitute as sum, the long-term objectives, which together with the mission, vision, values and ethics in the sector, will enable to develop the sector strategic planning, allowing to implement necessary and important actions for the development of automotive trade in the country

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAccording to the statistics of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru, the manufacture of wood and furniture contributed a scarce 1% to the national GDP on average in the period 2005-2016. Although Peru has a privileged forest, outstanding worldwide, this is not used in a sustainable way due to various social and economic pressures. Peru needs to expand areas under certified forest management, attending to proven and growing market demands. Access to technology and the development of productive capacities have been limited, important evolutionary factors that will allow to offer products of greater added value and of export, using modern techniques that allow to take advantage of a greater quantity of timber species of each forest harvested. There is still no good forest management, which has led the industry to handle unpredictable supplies and informal suppliers in the short term. However, this has not been a reason for the deactivation of the sector, on the contrary a development is shown as most factories are grouped in an industrial park where they seek to improve supported by local governments, basically by their ministries as PRODUCE, MINCETUR and PROMPERÚ. Currently, the department of Lima brings together the largest number of factories related to the sector and the concentration of these industries has occurred in the country's largest district, Villa El Salvador. The purpose of this strategic plan is to ensure that the Peruvian Wood furniture industry is recognized in the United States as one of the top three exporters of furniture for its service quality and innovation in design, driven by a high technological investment, characterized by the conservation of High standards of quality and at the forefront of innovation and technological development, achieving the integration of the productive chain with the environment. For this purpose an analysis of the general situation of the country was carried out, an analysis of external and internal environment was developed After defining the vision, 6 long-term objectives and 24 short-term objectives have been developed, which are expected to be achieved after implementing the five specific strategies resulting from the matrices employed. Once sustained the plan will boost the increase in exports to the United States

Music is a valuable form of expression of the human feeling and an important contribution to the identity, coexistence and social cohesion of a nation. Moreover, at present, it is a basic component of the cultural industries and one of the mayor contributors of GDP as well as the creation of jobs in developed countries. This is reflected in the interest shown in global trading and the compliance requirements to protect intellectual property prior to the signatures of free trade agreements. Nevertheless, In Peru and Latin America, culture has always been attributed a social and ideological character, leaving at a second level its value as a productive sector of high significance in economic terms. In this way, while the cultural industries (press, literature, radio. television, software, publicity, music and politics) provide 7.8% of the GDP of the United States in 1998, while in Peru the contribution of the cultural industries, was 0.40%. In 2011, Peruvian Music Industry itself, according to this research, had a contribution of only 0.91% of value added. This figure is very worrying for the following main reasons: (a) the large Peru comparative disadvantage relative to similar economies of the region, (b) loss of opportunity in generating jobs, and (c) the threat of foreign cultural alienation of young people and future generations. The purpose of this thesis is to identify strategic issues that drive through a long-term, the development of Peruvian Music Industry, and its contribution to sustainable development of Peru. In this thesis we used D'Alessio model (2008), considering objective and measurable solutions for 2018

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe cocoa industry around the world has presented in recent years, a greater demand for over the supply of this fruit, this established a significant opportunity for our country as a cocoa producer. This will contribute to the employment generation of the industry. Also, Peruvian cocoa has been recognized as fine cocoa because of its quality, good fragrance and flavor, which allows it to have a competitive advantage. However, it still needs to develop management mechanisms and the development of processes, which allows it to consolidate itself. The present study is a valuable tool that proposes aggressive strategies, increase productivity and product quality, complemented by improved the cultivation techniques and training for cocoa farmers. To reach this goal, a series of objectives were proposed to contribute to the growth, development and consolidation in a short and long term, such as: enhance the profitability due to the cocoa crop, grow in billing and increase the number of jobs generated by this industry. This requires that the different associations existing in this industry must be trained and farmers must develop their technical skills to be able to improve the presentation of their high quality cocoa fruits to foreign. Through our vision for the year 2027, Peru is positioned as the fifth exporter and sixth producer worldwide of cocoa beans, it will be supported by efficiency, profitability and the improvement of employment, contributing to the welfare of those involved in the cocoa sector.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAquaculture has shown a constant and important growth in the world in recent years, driven mainly by Asia, where China is the main world reference in this sector. This growth is not alien to the Peruvian reality where we can see that our country is beginning to develop the technology and skills necessary to make this industry an important element in the national economy, and be considered within the three main producers of species aquaculture in Latin America In order to make Peru a world reference is important to develop continental aquaculture and mariculture so that Peru can compete at the same level with its peers in Latin America such as Chile, Brazil and, Ecuador who have specialized their aquaculture in salmon, tilapia and, prawns respectively. Is also important to indicate that the growth of the industry depends directly on the efforts of all actors: private companies, small fish farmers, government entities and the education sector. These entities must align their strategies to achieve the short and long-term goals. This research paper presents the strategies and tactics that the Peruvian aquaculture industry must carry out in order to make this industry attractive for national and foreign investments, and in the coming years to become a Latin American reference based on its technological development, variety of products, environmental responsibility and its contribution to the world´s nutrition

Der volle Inhalt der QuellePeru has great potential to become one of the largest producers of coffee worldwide. Because they have climatic and geographical factors that promote the conditions to be able to have high quality and high yield coffee. In addition, Peru has a great brand value worldwide for the quality of its organic products. In this document the coffee strategic plan is elaborated as an analysis of the main internal and external factors that influence in a decisive way in the coffee sector was developed. Due to this analysis we found the strategies that allow Peru to position itself among the largest producers worldwide and be one of the key industries nationwide. Under Peru's natural conditions, it must have become one of the countries with the highest coffee production. However, it faces a series of factors that prevented it from being able to boost the development of the sector such as informality, disorganization and lack of technology among others that relegate development. These strategies seek to boost employability, productivity per hectare and get positioned to Peru by 2028 in one of the six largest producers of high quality coffee in the world. Bringing benefits not only for producers, but also for families and for all of Peru.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe world cocoa industry covers a variety of products types, where chocolate and cocoa beans have concentrated most of the exports and imports in recent years. The Peruvian sector has followed the same trend; however, it needs to define a new approach, due to the informality of its members, the deficiencies in the value chain and the high levels of cadmium present in the soil. In addition, given the dependence of the conventional cocoa market in Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana as the main producers and exporters, the imminent regulations on the maximum limits of cadmium allowed and the impact of pests, diseases and climate change, force Peru to seek differentiation according to the attributes demanded by its customers. In order to achieve this, the Peruvian cocoa industry must develop the fine or flavor cocoa product for the European Union and the United States markets, under a national brand that promotes its different varieties to meet the needs of the target segments. Furthermore, the implementation of strategic alliances with specialized organizations, public and private, will allow overcoming the weaknesses and threats mentioned above. Thus, the cocoa industry in Peru will be able to increase its exports, market share and generate more employment, to become one of the main representatives in the fine or flavour cocoa sector at the regional and even worldwide level

The Peruvian asparagus industry has developed with greater speed in the last decades, taking advantage of the potential that gives it the quality of the soils, the favorable climate, the almost permanent window of planting and harvesting of the vegetable and the quality of the product that gives it a powerful advantadge from its competitors. By combining these variables, the Peruvian asparagus industry is consolidated as the leading supplier of asparagus to export worldwide, standing out for its high level of quality and efficiency. However, the global market increases its consumption year after year and the peruvian asparagus industry still presents spaces to improve and gain participation, in addition the level of technification of the processes of culture and processing are susceptible of improvement to reach a level of a world-class product. Considering this scenario, the present strategic planning has been designed based on an analysis of the opportunities presented by the global market for the asparagus industry in Perú. This strategic exercise proposes, among others, the use of strategies to penetrate new markets and gain greater participation in the current ones, through the increase of the productivity of the peruvian asparagus, obtaining new commercial agreements and using a better technology as training, among other strategies. This industry also seeks to position the Peruvian asparagus as a high quality product with availability throughout the year. In this way, we want to achieve the vision of the year 2027 that seeks to ensure that the Peruvian asparagus industry consolidates its position as the world's leading exporter and is the main source market for the six largest importing countries. Also triple its export volume and increase its profitability by generating employment.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe strategic planning for Peru´s tomato has, as its primary focus, to achieve the outlined vision for the development of its industry and its derivatives in 2026. This focus originates as a product of the interaction of two pillars of the strategic plan: (a) long-term objectives; and (b) development and implementation of strategies. These two pillars are the result of an analytical perspective of filtered information and field trips, which have allowed us to identify, as a product of an external and internal analysis of the industry, (a) the main players and competitors in the cultivation and production of tomatoes and its derivatives both in the South American region and in the whole world, (b) the major tomato producing regions of the country such as Ica, Lima and Arequipa, (c) the assessment of the real situation of the Peruvian tomato industry, (d) its strengths and weaknesses and (e) the principal elements of its value chain. All of this was obtained using different analytical tools like the PESTE analysis and Porter´s diamond as part of the formulation process of the industry´s strategic planning. With all of this information, we can conclude that the development of the cultivation of the tomato in the country constitutes an interesting opportunity to promote its exports at a South America level and then to other international markets in the near future, being both of them far more attractive than the local market as its demand is already satisfied by the actual local producers of fresh tomatoes in the country. In order to achieve these goals, it is of the utmost importance that the designated governmental entities and the private sector begin developing and researching new pest control methods as a way to increase productivity along the coastal region, exploiting its comparative advantages related to climate and all year-round supply, giving a differentiating edge over direct competitors like Chile and Argentina.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe Peruvian coffee sector in recent years recorded decrease in production of coffee beans because of the crisis caused by the virus rust 2013, Which affected most of the coffee plantations and showed that many producers were not properly trained to deal with it. However, the coffee of Perú has been recognized as one of the most important traditional products that Perú exports, this is reflected in the increase in demand and that has become livelihoods of more than 223,000 families across the Perú. Therefore to know in depth the reality of Peruvian coffee, we visited the district important coffee Villarrica, where we collected opinions of producers and associations of coffee. This thesis develops the Strategic Planning coffee in Perú. Represents a valuable tool that proposes strategies of defensive type, to spearhead efforts to reduce production costs, increase productivity and quality, applied to process improvement and people. To reach this result objectives that allow growth in the short and long term were raised, such as: increased crop yield coffee, increased exports, increased domestic consumption, improving coffee quality and increased sales of value-added product. Therefore it is necessary to improve the association of coffee growers and training, developing scientific research, investing in infrastructure, among other strategies. This is how our vision for 2026 is to position Perú as one of the best producers of quality coffee worldwide, achieving recognition for their excellent aroma and flavor, achieving high levels of performance of agricultural land to contribute with economic and technological development of the coffee

The growth of the asparagus sector and its commercial expansion, since the eighties, has positioned the country as the top worldwide exporter of asparagus. In 2015, sales reached US$589 million, equivalent to 37 % of the worldwide asparagus exports, which contributed with 1.8 % of the aggregate exports of the country. Furthermore, it located this leaf vegetable among the 10 main export products; it participated with 17.1 % of the gross value of the agricultural produce in the five coastal regions where it was cultivated and its contribution to the national GDP was of 0.24 %. Regarding employment, in four of the five regions in which it is cultivated, 26 % of the employed population was in the agricultural sector; because the Peruvian asparagus has the advantage of its all year round production and it is appreciated for its quality. This allows it entering the American and European market and, recently, to explore the Asian market; markets whose tendencies toward the consumption of healthy, nutritious and ready to prepare produce are increasing. However, there are challenges to tackle in order to consolidate the worldwide positioning of the Peruvian asparagus in order to avoid losing competitiveness. On that subject, the agro-export sector has a national deficit in infrastructure, an increase in labor costs, scarcity of water, possible impacts such as consequences from climate change, and El Niño Phenomenon. And in its own sector, the renewal of the crops, the enlargement of lands, the improvement of the seeds, the plagues and phytosanitary aspects require improvement. Thus, the development of this strategic plan for the next 10 years is important; focused in assuring the privileged position that the Peruvian asparagus maintains

The strategic plan for the Cotton Sector of Peru has been developed using the structure presented in the Sequential Model of the Strategic Process designed by Professor Fernando D'Alessio. This plan starts by describing the current situation, which is then used to establish the future setting the sector should aim to reach. The initial diagnosis indicates that the Cotton Sector of Peru is going through one of the worst moments in its history. In the last years, the areas of farmland have been greatly diminished and simultaneously, the competition from abroad has increased. In addition, the farmers also have left cotton due to higher profitability of other crops. This initial analysis has been used as a reference to develop the vision, task and the long-term goals for this sector. According to them, on year 2027 the Cotton Sector of Peru will get higher sales in local market. At the same time this sector should be recognized by its quality of the large and extra-large fibers, which will be competitive in the global market. This outcome will be produced by small farmers associations, increasing new employments that will be supported with irrigation and farming technologies. The strengths, threats, weaknesses and opportunities of the Cotton Sector of Peru went through a process of selection were they were analyzed carefully. Also, the main key factors for success were identified. Then a number of strategies were designed, which will be applied using the short-term objectives. These strategies and objectives are oriented to the process of entering markets, the joint venture of the farmers, the increase of quality, the process of product differentiation through marketing and the application of new technologies through Benchmarking. These short-term objectives will be monitored through a control panel with the Balance Score Card methodology. In this way a strategic mapping of the outcomes of the actions and the decisions taken, will be obtained. These indicators will show whether the sector is in the right track or if a strategy should change, in any moment, to ensure that the proposed objectives will be obtained. In conclusion, this strategic plan should be developed in order to Cotton Sector of Peru will become a sector which contributes at PBI, also being profitable and well valued employments generator

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe following strategic planning has as its purpose, the growth of the Cañihua Industry, in terms of employment, income and profitability, through a comprehensive analysis of the environment and market, which allow us to identify the main opportunities, threats, strengths and weaknesses of the industry. Likewise, as a result of the different matrices and the complementary information, strategies were obtained that will lead us to fulfill the long-term objectives, all with the purpose of reaching the established vision and moving to the desired future situation. It is important to mention that the economic and political conditions of the country are stable, favoring the entry of global investors. The production of Cañihua is an industry with great potential, thanks to its high content of vitamins and its versatility in the food sector. Improving the competitiveness of the industry, will be the basis on which we will rely on to improve costs and develop efficiencies and outperform current competitors and those that may appear in the future. We have a great opportunity to improve the positioning of this cereal, within the global market, because compared to similar products, we have a great competitive advantage in the nutritional and food aspect. Finally, the objectives set have a high probability of being achieved with the development of the strategies proposed, and together with the growing demand for this type of products at a global level, they are an ideal combination to be able to achieve success in the development and growth of this industry. Also keep in mind that the growth prospects are quite encouraging in the following years for Peru and that the macroeconomic development is developed in harmony, between the state and the private sector generating an enabling environment in the generation of value for both parties

The corn is the third agricultural product of Peru, whose annual production is going to be 1'675, 000 MT in 2013, representing only 50% of domestic consumption, so it does not satisfy domestic demand. Through the application of this strategic plan, in 2023 Peru will be able to feed itself, by obtaining higher yield per hectare. There are two main varieties of corn, starchy and hard yellow. In the case of starchy corn, it is cultivated by smallholder farmers who primarily satisfy their own food requirements, as well as their animals’, then they sell the surplus to middlemen. It goes to wholesalers in the major markets and from there to retailers and consumers. Instead yellow corn is mainly used to produce food for animals, and mainly for poultry, and it is harvested by both small farmers as well as for poultry farmers who are vertically integrated. After implementing this strategic plan, in 10 years Peru will have 45 races of maize starch, which will increase performance and coupled with the increase in crop area will have a production growth of 57%. All this coupled with training programs for all employees, with the use of technology and information systems on end. In the near future, strategies that will be implemented includes the development of technology applied to the crop and harvesting of modified corn to create new varieties that can get adapted to different uses such as biofuel production. The association of small producers as well as chaining different actors around a common vision will benefit the sector, where ensuring the quality of the final product is important and is warranted through certifications and equipment renewal

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe main objective of this research is to develop a Strategic Plan for the Peruvian agricultural fresh fruit and vegetables exporting Sector, given the enormous potential it possesses to become one of the world’s main exporters of such products. The development of this Plan benefits from the enormous advantage bestowed upon this activity by the range of geographic zones that exist within Peru, as well as the country’s strategic geographic location. Also of importance is the considerable commercial support provided by the free trade agreements Peru has signed, and the success of Marca Perú [“Brand Peru”], which has achieved worldwide recognition. In this research work we analyzed internal and external factors, and this enabled us to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that led to our establishing a series of strategies designed to achieve the proposed Vision. The long term objectives formulated were designed to achieve economic growth, hand-in-hand with the technological innovation that will allow us to develop sustainably. Considering the fact that Peru has been experiencing FOB growth in excess of 20%, we believe that with an appropriate policy for the promotion of agricultural exports Peru could become one of the world’s leading exporting countries. As part of the project, we considered the development of this sector and the possibilities for sustainable growth in non-traditional products, such as organic produce, blueberries, onions and other crops with the potential to contribute to increased exports, that will help improve the socioeconomic conditions of all those who form part of the value chain.

It starts with a brief evaluation of the industry in the last years, identifying its national potential as a worldwide leader in the production and exportation of fish flour and oil and seeking to mark the actual practice of the corporations in the area regarding the formulation of the vision and mission. Subsequently, it uses this evaluation as an input for the elaboration of the different matrix used in the implementation of the strategical process, which are based on the selected plans to accomplish the long-term goals established for the 2027. Accordingly, an interest in implementing intensive strategies to develop products and markets as well as to guarantee the vertical integration focused in the capability of generating a sustained growth of the exportations appears. In the same way, the efficient use of the resources, and the manpower employability are also pursued by the program presented. Finally, the strategic plan presents a list of conclusions and recommendations focused on the introduction of a new marine species called “vinciguerria” in the productive process and the attention of new markets, which will allow to maintain the productive operations while the closed season, increasing the sales and guaranteeing solid cost-effectiveness, sustainability and social responsibility

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn recent years Peru has experienced important social and economic changes which allowed the increase of private capitals, inserting private capital to the economy. This higher cash flow generated surplus capital which allowed investment and higher public spending. Peruvian middle class, especially in Lima, has experienced an important growth in their consumption capacity, generating higher demand for goods and services. In this new context of consumption in Peru the market of Coffee has been subjected to a radical transformation compared to the consumption from the past. Traditionally in Peru Coffee was consumed through soluble products. Nowadays, internal market offers a variety of Coffee beans of superior quality, creating clients with bigger quality expectations. Coincidentally in the world Coffee has a growing demand and new massive consumption markets have opened in Europe and Asia. However, in Peru sales, exportations and profits have not increased at the same level. On the contrary, it is relatively difficult to keep a competitive Coffee industry, due to scarce manpower but also due to the little sustainable offer of the quality of Peru’s Coffee bean. The approach of the present study is to develop a strategic plan which would allow reevaluate the Coffee industry in Peru from its foundations, the objectives that would be traced in long and short terms to reach defined goals, under the defiant vision that the industry of Peruvian Coffee will be the leader in the production of the best Coffee in the world, distributing high quality products, and reaching high quotations in the international market. Following the analysis it is concluded that long term objectives should be focused on the generation of employment (720,000 individuals), sales ( USD 2 billion per year), and 38% return over sales Once the horizon is traced some retained strategies were defined to be implemented, coming from SWOT analysis. Also some short term objectives and initiatives are given, and monitoring control indicators through Balanced Scorecard. Among these strategies it is important to mention positioning of Peruvian Coffee in the world, new markets penetration, investment in R&D and international certification of the productive chain of Coffee, among others

This analysis considers that Peru, because of its biodiversity, could provide raw materials to the cosmetics industry and make it highly competitive, capable of generate formal employment with strong salaries and it could integrate another industries within the productive chain. This would affect directly the national Gross National Product and the social aspect. The implementation of this plan includes community participation, strengthening of the industry, sustainable development of Peruvian biodiversity raw materials, a bigger return on investment, balance of trade with health, product safety, and supply to markets in Asia, United States of America and Latin America. However, the industry needs to improve its infrastructure, develop more technology, and technically train its work force. Other countries in South America got a strategic plan that considers cosmetic sector as one of the most important and it would have the greatest impact on their development and Peru should be aligned. The main sales channels are retail and door-to-door sales. The last one has an outstanding and efficient cost structure, since it does not need to invest in big inventories when sending only orders by catalog and the cost in advertising returns because they sell the catalogs to the consultants. A third potential channel is e-commerce, which represents just 1% of sales. Currently, per capita consumption is US$ 74.90 per year, with an estimated annual growth of 8% of the cosmetics market. Finally, this study establish that by 2028, the Peruvian cosmetics industry will have tripled its size from US$ 2,197’000,000 in 2017 to US$. 6,158’000,000 with more than ten plants located in different regions and it will indirectly have contributed to the decentralization of the country. It also considers that for that year, the sector will be able to generate direct and indirect jobs from 400,000 to one million formal jobs

Peru is the ninth largest forest country in the world and has a great biodiversity, which can demonstrate the potential of Peruvian industry. The current extraction model is based mainly on forestry concessions of natural forests. In addition to the great wealth of the forest, there are large extensions suitable for reforestation that would allow the promotion of commercial forest plantations in order to increase the volume of sales, as well as the development of new products oriented to global demand. The objective of this strategic plan is to promote the development of the wood industry, indicating the objectives and strategies necessary to achieve the vision proposed by 2028 in order to achieve recognition as a sustainable, highly productive and oriented industry to export and generate employment. Once the vision was defined, five long-term objectives were set, referring to the increase of exports, increase in yield per hectare, generation of jobs, certification of wood that ensures the sustainability of forests and the development of a model of mixed extraction that includes both natural forests and forest plantations. Likewise, to achieve the vision and defined objectives, eleven strategies have been proposed that resulted from the matrices developed in this document, focused mainly on export and search for new markets, development of value-added products, export of certified wood, increase in fastgrowing tree plantations, development of clusters that integrate the entire production chain and installation of processing plants, as well as the use of forestry research and technology to increase productivity.

Nowadays, there is a growing trend for the consumption of organic products both nationally and internationally, due to a greater concern from consumers about the care of their nutrition and health. This represents an opportunity to develop new products that keep this line healthy within its attributes, therefore a potential market has been identified to introduce a new line of organic chocolates in the peruvian market, taking advantage that one of the best grains of cocoa in the world is produced in the district of Mazamari in Junin, and are highly valued at international markets for their distinguishing attribute of being a fine aroma cocoa. To launch the new line of organic chocolates to the peruvian market, a Marketing plan has been developed and would be carried out through the company Nestlé, which would work as a new brand within the portfolio of chocolate brands currently run by the company. This company was chosen because of its position as leader in the Peruvian chocolate and confectionery market and also for its experience in social responsibility actions, as it seeks to generate a social impact in the town of Mazamari with part of the profits obtained. The new brand for the organic chocolates will be “Pachi” which means ‘gratitude’ in quechua and will be accompanied by the slogan "Place que hace bien", because it is beneficial for consumers, the community of Mazamari and the environment. At the financial level, the project is viable since it generates a NPV of S/1'183,097.26, and a IRR of 36.55% for the period 2018-2020 in addition to the social benefits in the community of Mazamari
