Abstract Population aging has become the norm in China. Improving or reconstructing the elderly support system is therefore essential. While the government and institutional support has been improving and enhancing in China, family remains the most important source of elderly support for a long period in the future. Based on data from censuses and national surveys (1982-2015), we examine recent changes in household size and structure across ages from an individual life course perspective, to reveal the complexities and ambiguities behind the nationwide household change. Our findings suggest that multi-generational co-residence is a major vehicle to accommodate the needs of family members at critical stages of life. These salient features of family change in China call for new family-oriented policies, including pragmatic incentives to strengthen intergenerational solidarity, essential support for family caregivers, and diversified community services to care for frail elders.

Family doctors perform a substantial function, whereas commune councils and territorial self-governments an administrative one. The principle of the system work is evaluation of its benefits. Its aim is the reduction of the number of patients who abuse alcohol and those who abuse alcohol despite treatment.

Background: The Covid-19 pandemic is being 2 years and the fluctuated cases made the nurses workload were increasing. The effects are stress, anxiety, and burnout. To decrease these sequences, need family support. Family support advantage to them for increasing their confidence and being valuable. Purpose: the major aim of the study is to know the difference between family support for nurses who work in Covid and non-Covid wards.Methods: Quantitative method were used in its study and used 149 nurses as a respondent. The inclusion criteria were working at hospital at least a year and lived with nuclear family. The questioner used Family Support Scale (FSS) with 19 sentences. It used Mann-Whitney test with SPSS 21 software.Results: Most of the respondent were nurses who work in Covid ward (64.4%) and majority is an associate nurse (84.9%). The p value was 0.077 (p0.05) which indicate that there were not differences of family support between nurses who work in Covid and non-Covid wards.Conclusion: There were not differences of family support between nurses who work in Covid and non-Covid wards.

The aim of the article is to analyse the functioning of supporting families. They play an important role in the process of supporting the natural family experiencing difficulties in caring for and bringing up children. In their work with the family, they carry out tasks related to the care and education of children, running a household, shaping and fulfilling social roles. Supporting families are appointed and function on behalf of the commune pursuant to the Act of 9 June 2011 on supporting the family and the foster care system. The article presents legal aspects and figures on the performance of supporting families. The legal aspect includes the performance rules, the recruitment scheme, taking into account a number of requirements and the scope of tasks performed by supporting families. The statistical data presents an analysis of the trends of changes regarding the number of functioning families, the time spent by children in the care of supporting families and the number of supported families. Supporting families become each time more popular form of support for a natural family experiencing caring and upbringing difficulties. By embracing a family with support, members of the supporting family play the role of the authority of behaviour for parents and the role of a “positive adult” model for children. The supporting family is a model of parenting, an authority in fulfilling social roles, a guide for the change made and a teacher of everyday family life. By implementing the entrusted tasks resulting from the Act and the contract concluded with the head of the commune, the supporting family supervises the overall development of the family as a system and its individual members.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify and to analyze the support systems used by family members for the adaptation process to the child’s hospitalization in the intensive care unit. Method: qualitative research, conducted in a hospital located in the Southern Brazil. Data were collected between June and July 2017, through semi-structured interviews with family members of hospitalized children. The adaptation model and thematic analysis were used for data processing. Results: four themes emerged: family and friends as a support system; the family members of other hospitalized children as a support system; spirituality as a support system; health team as a support system. Final considerations: identifying the support systems used in the process of family adaptation and their manifestations of interdependence was possible. The need of the nurses to intensify the listening to strengthen the support system of the family members of the children hospitalized in the unit studied.

This study examined the transformation of the family’s resource supply system, taking into account the educational strategies of its members. It is substantiated that the development of the family as a social institution becomes possible only through the creation of an open system of its resource supply in compliance with the principles of joint activities and gender equality, which ensures the integration of individual functions of the family and higher education. On the issue of women’s access to available resources, including educational ones, the work revealed a social contradiction, when, on the one hand, women retain an active position in the provision of resources to the family, there is equal access with men to information and intellectual resources, on the other hand, there is a limited access of women to power, material and financial resources. In the field of complex analysis and assessment of the family's resource supply, the authors have proposed new indicators of information-technological and educational growth of a social institution: technologies of housekeeping; use of information technologies in the family resource supply system. The conclusion is made about the growing role of modern technologies of public participation, contributing to the improvement of the status of women and strengthening their role in the resource provision of the family by increasing the educational level and status.

Melalui orang tua, anak di ajarkan tentang pentingnya nilai-nilai moral, spiritual, dan etika. Selain pendidikan di rumah, orang tua juga harus memperhatikan pendidikan anak di luar rumah seperti sekolah atau di lingkungan sekitar dan menjadi support system terbaik untuk mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang support system yang diberikan oleh nuclear family (keluarga inti) terhadap pendidikan anak mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah orang tua dari nuclear family (keluarga inti) dan informasi tambahan dari pengumpulan data melalui wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peran orang tua bukan hanya dari segi materi namun orang tua juga berperan penting dalam perkembangan mental seorang anak. Dukungan orang tua memiliki beberapa bentuk yang sangat dibutuhkan oleh seorang anak dalam kehidupannya terutama untuk pendidikan.</em></p>

Experience shows that there are great defects in information and collaboration between families and professionals in the health and care sector. In an attempt to improve the quality of the efforts planned and implemented in collaboration with relatives a family-related IT-based collaboration system called CIDC was constructed. With the intention to facilitate communication, information, documentation, and collaboration the system was tested together with parents of children with cognitive impairment. The system contains a number of functions gathered in a so-called e-collaboration room. The person administering and distributing the system authorizes the patient/care recipient or relative to build up an e-collaboration room. The result has been largely positive, but the part, which was supposed to document everyday activities, leaves much to be desired. For this reason a follow-up study was completed, and an iPad was used as a contact book, which with the help of the Dropbox software provided increased insight into the child and improved the contact with parents without losing confidentiality or causing extra workload for the staff. By automatic download from the iPad parents and/or contact persons could easily follow the documentation of children’s everyday activities.

The purpose of this paper is to analyze vulnerability of teenage families by focusing on teenage pregnancy and its support system in South Korea, and discuss how they are facing uncertainty and insecurity and which directions in developments of family policy in so-called “family centered welfare state” of Korea. Teenage pregnancy is widely issued in developing and developed countries. Especially in developed countries, the number of teenage mothers has been increasing and their welfare support has been developed. Recent research of teenage pregnancy in developed countries examine that young mothers and fathers tend to have multi-layered problems of welfare, education, and labor-market. In South Korea, which is categorized as “family centered welfare regime”, the number of teenage pregnancy is increasing in the context of very low fertility trend. Most of teenage pregnancy has historically ended with “abortion” or “adoption,” and its issue has had stigma. However, recently the number of teenage mothers who choose their own childcare is increasing. They are facing multi-layered insecurities; insecurities of education (drop out), poverty, labor insecurity, and the insecurities of the development and future of their child. This paper focuses on young family at risk through the lens of teenage pregnancy in “familialism” welfare regime of Korea and considers possible directions in very low fertility society.

The contemporary family is subject to significant transformations, which forces its members to adapt in new conditions of social functioning. Changing socio-economic conditions, difficult financial situation, helplessness, occurrence of addictions and social pathologies often make families unable to properly fulfill their tasks and functions. Social support can refer to taking action in any difficult situation in which a person is - a family who can not cope independently under the circumstances. The family is one of the most important values in human life, therefore the possibilities of its support should be broad, varied and generally available.The aim of the study is to present selected aspects and forms of social support for the family, which experiences many problems in everyday functioning. Supportive activities concern, among other things: the form of social assistance that the family will receive in the light of legal acts, the types of benefits a family can get in a difficult life situation and diversified forms of assistance and support from specialists for working with family - social workers and family assistants. The study uses the method of analysis of existing data (desk research), the research has been given a diagnostic and descriptive character. In the presented article, the analysis covered the subject literature on the subject matter covered, applicable legal acts, statistics, government reports and reports on social assistance benefits. The collected material was supplemented by an expert interview conducted with social workers and family assistant. Undertaken assistance activities should support families not only in the traditional social role, but also be open to the dynamics of socio-economic and cultural changes and new areas requiring assistance. Therefore, when undertaking supporting activities, one should focus both on preventing negative phenomena that may threaten the proper functioning of the family and effectively eliminate the effects of their occurrence.

BackgroundKostopoulou and colleagues designed and evaluated a diagnostic decision support system (DSS) that presented GPs with differential diagnoses to consider at the start of the consultation. The DSS was integrated with the electronic health record (EHR) and evaluated in simulated consultations (34 GPs consulting with 12 actors), where it was found to improve diagnostic accuracy.AimTo evaluate the impact of the DSS on GP clinical documentation.MethodSecondary data analysis. The analysis dataset consisted of all data items that the 34 GPs recorded during their consultations with the 12 actors (408 consultations). Each GP had conducted six consultations with the EHR alone, and six with the integrated DSS. The 12 patient scenarios had a pre-defined set of clinical cues and differential diagnoses. For each patient scenario, a Delphi panel of five GPs identified which cues were consistent with each differential diagnosis. The data items recorded, either in free text or code, were counted. These were referenced against the Delphi panel’s matrix of cues and diagnoses. For each GP, it was estimated what proportion of the recorded data was consistent with the diagnosis that they finally gave.ResultsUsing the DSS increased the total amount of information documented (b = 3.58 [95% confidence interval {CI} = 2.81 to 4.35] P<0.001) and reduced the proportion of documentation that was consistent with the GP’s final diagnosis (b = −0.08 [95% CI = −0.11 to −0.05] P<0.001), suggesting less bias.ConclusionUsing the DSS led to more complete and less biased documentation. This has implications for the use of routine EHR data to create clinical prediction rules.

This study investigated the mediating effect of social support with postpartum rage on young mothers during the first to twenty-four months. Method in this research is c a cross-sectional survey design was used in this quantitative non-experimental research. Subject of young mothers who have delivered the children aged one to twenty-four months women who lived in the area of west Sumatera. This study used edinburgh postnatal depression scale (EPDS) to measure which focuses on postpartum rage and the social support system scale to measure social support. Data analysis spearman Rho correlation, analysis of variance (ANOVA) test and path coefficients. After data from 121 participants were analyzed, the results of measurement showed a significant difference between postpartum rage that occurred in the group of young mothers who had their first child, which was greater than those who had a second or third child. Pregnancy has a partially mediating effect on the relationship between anger during pregnancy and postnatal depression in the first month. Findings highlight the importance of social support with high postpartum rage and provide interventions to increase their social support.

The author investigates the transformation processes of family values, preconditions that have influenced the emergence of the familism in Hungarian society. The article deals with the analysis of the main characteristics of neo-familism as the dominant social phenomenon of the present, which directly impacts the Hungarian family policy and determines the further direction of the family support system formation. It has been noted that familism is a complex concept and can be interpreted from different perspectives. This term is revealed through the prism of personal and family values, norms, interpersonal and social relations, as well as governance systems strategies. In this article, familism is discussed mainly as a system of governance measures, disclosed through the demonstration of social, in particular, family policy strategies, as well as instruments of its regulation. Hungarian family policy and the effects of familism on it are described and analysed in several characteristics, such as types of financial support, supporting measures to facilitate parents' participation in the labour market and the social services systems. It is proved that, in comparison with other European Union countries, the parental support system of childcare in Hungary is one of the most comprehensive. On the basis of the analysis, it has been concluded that the Hungarian family support system was formed under the influence of the consequences of historical events and political ideologies. The key factors, which are determining the direction of the system transformation today, are both post-socialism and Europeanisation at the same time. The analysis of the historical preconditions of the family policy formation and its modern regulatory instruments classifies the Hungarian support system as optional familism, which provides universal financial support to families, a comprehensive system of parental leave and childcare allowances, tax deductions, public nursery and kindergarten services. The author also underlines the significance of analysing the Hungarian welfare system and social services which support not only families in difficult life circumstances but also middle-class families.

Ballarat Family Services is the service that has evolved in Ballarat, Victoria as a result of a Department of Human Services initiative, the Family Support Innovation Projects. More than two years after the commencement of the program, Ballarat Family Services is leading a major re-orientation of the service system for families who have borderline involvement with the statutory Child Protection system. This re-orientation involves all parts of the service system, including the nature of the collaborative relationships between non-government agencies and the statutory Child Protection Agency. It has also led to Ballarat Family Services revisiting the nature and purpose of the practice of family support work. This paper will give an overview of the development of Ballarat Family Services and go on to outline the lessons learned in practice, placing them in the context of current theory and research.

The problem of anxiety in children before circumcision is still found, this anxiety has an impact on the psychological problems of children undergoing circumcision, so the role of the family in accompanying it is needed. One of the roles of the family that is thought to be related to children's anxiety is the family support system. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the family support system and the child's level of anxiety before circumcision. This type of research used descriptive correlation with cross sectional design, the population in this study were all children who were circumcised at the Fathiyah Husada medical center. The sampling technique was accidental sampling, the number of samples was 21 people. The instrument used was a family support system questionnaire sheet and a child anxiety questionnaire. Data analysis was carried out with univariate and bivariate using Spearmen Rho test. The results showed that the Family Support System with good categories were 12 families (57.1%), the majority of children's anxiety levels were mild as many as 9 respondents (42.9%). The results of statistical tests using Spearmen Rho showed the relationship between the family support system and the child's level of anxiety before circumcision was obtained p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05). Conclusion of the study showed that there was a relationship between the family support system and the child's level of anxiety before circumcision. It is hoped that families can improve the support system for children who will undergo circumcision, so that the anxiety experienced by children can be minimized. Aims:To identify and compare, family support needs following an acquired brain injury (ABI) in metropolitan and regional/remote areas in order to inform the development of a state-wide family peer support network.Design:Mixed methods design including postal survey and focus groups.Results:The survey was completed by 194 family members who provide support to an adult with ABI. Focus groups included 43 participants (29 family members, 14 people with ABI). Thematic analysis of open-ended survey responses and focus group transcripts revealed 15 areas of needed support. Although all themes were identified by both geographic groups, regional/remote participants commented more frequently on the need for coordinated, accessible and tailored services. A strong focus was placed on the need for counselling and emotional support, as well as family support groups from both major city and regional/remote participants. Each support was reviewed to identify those which could be augmented through peer-supports, including: emotional support; family support groups; ABI information; family social activities; help to navigate the system; early supports (within the first year of ABI); and self-advocacy training.Conclusions:Results highlight a need for ongoing supports for the entire family following ABI in both metropolitan and regional/remote regions of SA (South Australia). Support themes can inform the development of family-centred services, including the role of peer-support networks.

Day 1 included presentations of research evidence, followed by participant engagement Qualitative data was collected regarding facilitators, barriers/gaps, and recommendations for the provisionof caregiver supports. Day 2 focused on determination of research priorities.ResultsIdentified facilitators to the provision of caregiver support included accessibility of health-care and community-based resources, availability of well-intended health-care providers, and recognition of caregivers by the system. Barriers/gaps related to challenges with communication, access to information, knowledge of what is needed, system navigation, access to financial resources, and current policies. Recommendations regarding caregiver services and research revolved around assisting caregivers to self-identify and seek support, formalizing caregiver supports, centralizing resources, making system navigation available, and preparing the next generation for caregiving.Implication A better understanding of the needs of family caregivers and ways to support them is critical to seniors’ health services redesign.

Meeting the special expenses associated with health and habilitative services for a child who has significant chronic illness or disability can be very challenging for a family. Our present system of health insurance is diverse, fragmented, and frequently inadequate, confronting families with disqualifications per preexisting conditions, waiting periods, restricted benefits, copayments, ceilings, and out-of-pocket expenses. Although many problems are involved, one scheme that has had considerable stability and relatively broad benefits is enrollment in Medicaid. Specific family financial eligibility requirements limit Medicaid to those with low incomes. Interstate variations in eligibility are substantial, and many families have difficulty understanding and negotiating the system.

The objective of this paper is to examine the impact of ADHD on the functioning of families. A review of recent research indicated that the persistence of symptoms into adulthood and the high rate of comorbidity with behaviour, psychiatric and mood disorders, are major additional stressors for families. Although the clinical presentation, developmental manifestations and patterns of comorbidity have been refined, it is emphasised that effective management of this disorder requires access to interventions which are both multilevel and multimodal. A model of a multilevel system of intervention that can be tailored to the individual family's needs at different stages of development is presented.

During the pandemic, all needs are shifted to online from offline activities, so our interaction with smartphones or laptop screens is increasing. This study aims to arrange the invention of a new method of family nursing care standards with a Supportive Educative System based on integrating Family Centered Care and family tasks towards family support in adolescents with Smartphone addiction. Method - The study used quantitative design with Quasy Experiments. The sample taken was 24 respondents who were divided into two groups. Data analysis using the Paired t-test it shows that in the treatment group the results of the p value (0.002) < (0.05), meaning that there is a difference between family support before and after being given treatment, namely an increase in the average value of 95 to 97.08. While in the control group the statistical. Result - The results of the p value (0.028) < (0.05), meaning that there is a difference between family support before and after being given treatment, namely an increase in the average value of 94, 75 becomes 96. Conclusion - There is change to the treatment of inventions new methods of standardized family nursing care with a Supportive Educative System based on the integration of Family Centered Care and family duties towards family support in adolescents with Smartphone education to families is expected to be the basis for members to support each other in Addiction.

Earlier research on product family design (PFD) often highlights isolated and successful empirical studies with a limited attempt to explore the modeling and design support issues surrounding this economically important class of engineering design problems. This paper proposes a graph rewriting system to organize product family data according to the underpinning logic and to model product derivation mechanisms for PFD. It represents the structural and behavioral aspects of product families as family graphs and related graph operations, respectively. The derivation of product variants becomes a graph rewriting process, in which family graphs are transformed to variant graphs by applying appropriate graph rewriting rules. The system is developed in the language of programmed graph rewriting systems or PROGRES, which supports the specification of hierarchical graph schema and parametric rewriting rules. A meta model is defined for family graphs to factor out those entities common to all product families. A generic model is defined to describe all specific entities relevant to particular families. An instance model describes all product variants for individual customer orders. A prototype of a graph-based PFD system for office chairs is also developed. The system can provide an interactive environment for customers to make choices among product offerings. It also facilitates design automation of product families and enhances interactions and negotiations among sales, design, and manufacturing.

Pulmonary tuberculosis is the third most prevalent disease worldwide. It is a contagious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, a bacterium characterized by dimensions of 0,5-4µ x 0,3-0,6µ and an outer thick layer composed of lipids that are resistant to chemical penetration. Family support is one of the factors influencing the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis, where both main and extended family serve as a support system for their affected members. The primary function of a family is to provide healthcare. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between family support and family stress among pulmonary tuberculosis patients at Tamalanrea Primary Health Center. This study employed a quantitative cross-sectional research design and utilized a total sampling approach with a sample size of 32 patients. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Fisher’s Exact test. The results of the study revealed a significant relationship between family support and family stress in tuberculosis patients, with a p-value of 0,018. In conclusion, this study established a correlation between family support and family stress among pulmonary tuberculosis patients at Tamalanrea Primary Health Center. It is suggested that future researchers use larger sample sizes to explore additional factors that impact family support and family stress among tuberculosis patients.

AbstractWe examine patterns of intergenerational support, with a key focus on the gender of the providers, in four countries in East and Southeast Asia: Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. These countries make an interesting set for comparison because they are characterized by varying levels of social and economic development and different family systems, with the Philippines and Thailand having bilateral family systems, Taiwan having a strong patrilineal family system, and Singapore having a mix of the two systems across ethnic groups. Our analyses are based on a recent round of national surveys of older persons that were conducted in each country. The results reveal distinctive patterns and varying levels of flexibility across countries with respect to the gender of coresident married children, but only modest gender patterning in the provision of financial and material support and visiting patterns.

Abstract Families are the most important source of support to older adults. Today, there is growing recognition of the escalating complexity of family caregiving. Family caregivers are increasingly carrying out health-related tasks with little training or preparation, as well as continuing to provide the majority of long-term services and supports (LTSS) at home. Providing care in the context of rapidly changing health care and LTSS systems can have a significant impact on the family members who provide care and take a significant toll, emotionally, physically, and financially. Studies commonly show that family caregivers report learning complex tasks by trial and error and worry about making a mistake. This symposium highlights new caregiving research from the AARP Public Policy Institute. The first paper will present new research on the increasing complexity of the challenges facing family caregivers, such as managing multiple medications, wound care, and interaction with the health care system. The second paper will present new data on the economic value of the unpaid contributions of family caregivers in the United States. The third paper will examine the growing importance of family caregiving on the public policy agenda, and describe recent policy developments that recognize and explicitly support caregiving families. Recommendations for policy and practice change to address caregiving needs will be examined in all papers. Our discussant will identify key implications from this research for policymakers and practitioners, and potential drivers for developing a better system of family support at the federal and state levels.

The objective of the study was to identify the legal mechanisms for the protection of the family rights of the child and to outline the main problems of their implementation. The child's family rights system was found to contain the child's intangible basic rights, which establish his or her legal status in the family. This system includes the child's right to life, name, citizenship, knowledge of his parents, care of parents, coexistence with parents, preservation of his identity and citizenship, free expression of his own views. It states that the protection of the family rights of the child and the legal relations of parents and children is based on four principles. It is determined that the practical solution of issues related to the exercise of the family rights of the child is regulated by international law, which makes it possible to resolve issues related to the legal relationship between parents and children at the inter-State level. It is concluded that perspectives on legislative support for the family rights of the child demand further empirical research, as well as a theoretical and methodological justification for determining the legal mechanisms of their practical implementation.

The paper describes a system of organizational and technological measures that shape the principles, conditions, procedure, forms and methods of supporting families raising so-called ‘difficult’ orphan children, i.e. disabled children, adolescents, siblings. These children have specific needs when it comes to living in a family; their integration into the family takes much longer and is usually more complicated as compared to other orphans. It is not uncommon for families to be afraid of such children and to refuse taking care of them. Still, the key factor of successful family integration of these children is a special system of support. Model programmes that were developed in 2016 at the request of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation can well be considered as methodological and procedural guidelines for the emerging system of support for families taking care of orphans with special family needs as well as for specialist training courses.

A prototype decision support system (DSS) designed to support GPs’ first impressions has been integrated with a commercial electronic health record (EHR) system.AimTo evaluate the prototype DSS in a high-fidelity simulation.Design and settingWithin-participant design: 34 GPs consulted with six standardised patients (actors) using their usual EHR. On a different day, GPs used the EHR with the integrated DSS to consult with six other patients, matched for difficulty and counterbalanced.MethodEntering the reason for encounter triggered the DSS, which provided a patient-specific list of potential diagnoses, and supported coding of symptoms during the consultation. At each consultation, GPs recorded their diagnosis and management. At the end, they completed a usability questionnaire. The actors completed a satisfaction questionnaire after each consultation.ResultsThere was an 8–9% absolute improvement in diagnostic accuracy when the DSS was used. This improvement was significant (odds ratio [OR] 1.41, 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.13 to 1.77, P<0.01). There was no associated increase of investigations ordered or consultation length. GPs coded significantly more data when using the DSS (mean 12.35 with the DSS versus 1.64 without), and were generally satisfied with its usability. Patient satisfaction ratings were the same for consultations with and without the DSS.ConclusionThe DSS prototype was successfully employed in simulated consultations of high fidelity, with no measurable influences on patient satisfaction. The substantially increased data coding can operate as motivation for future DSS adoption.

The research is aimed at studying the relationship of family mutual assistance. The aim of the work is to establish the nature of these relationships and the factors inﬂuencing their reproduction based on the study of family mutual assistance relations in families with student children. The methodological basis of the research is the development of the theory of reciprocity by B. Malinovsky and K. Polanyi, as well as the works of leading foreign and Russian scientists. The study was conducted using General scientiﬁc methods, such as system analysis, questionnaires, generalization and systematization, and comparisons. The empirical base is based on a survey of 500 students and 15 individual semi-structured interviews of students of the Ural state University of Economics and the Ural Federal University, collected in 2020.As a result of the study, it was found that the relations of family assistance in families with student children are arranged in accordance with the principle of reciprocity, that is, they reﬂect the interdependence of family members, the symmetry of support acts, when the roles of the recipient of a gift or service and the donor alternate, and are also characterized by non-equivalence of received (transmitted) gifts and services. The main types of family support are for student children-ﬁnancial support for parents, for parents-assistance for children in household management. Emotional and psychological support is provided by more than half of the students and their parents. The reproduction of family mutual aid relations is inﬂuenced by social, economic and emotional factors, among which the factors of kinship, attachment, family solidarity, as well as the objective possibility of providing support as the economic basis of the relationship of assistance are of high importance.

To enable culturally congruent family health care nursing, the family belief systems theory proposed by Hohashi can be utilized. The family belief systems theory, developed through family ethnographic studies and questionnaire surveys conducted in the United States, Japan, China, Indonesia, and the Philippines, explains (a) structurization of a system, based on the family member’s beliefs as cognition criteria, in which family member’s emotions, decisions/acts, and physical responses (including health problems) occur; and (b) the process in which family beliefs are formed from family members’ beliefs, by which intentional decisions/acts by the family (family decision making, family self-management, etc.) are performed. By identifying the mechanism of family belief systems, the nursing professional, through support for family/family members’ beliefs, can completely change the intentional decisions/acts by the family.
