Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis is dedicated to the problem of disassembly line design in uncertain context. A disassembly linecan be represented as a succession of workstations where tasks are performed sequentially at each workstation. The design of such a product recovery system can be reduced to a combinatorial optimization problem which seeksa line configuration that optimizes certain objectives under technical, economical and environmental constraints. We begin by describing the principal product recovery activities especially disassembly. Then, after a literaturereview on the design of production lines under uncertainty of task processing times, we focus our study on the consideration of the disassembly task time uncertainties. Hence, we present three main models as well as the associatedsolution approaches. The first one is interested in minimizing the line stoppages caused by the task processing timeuncertainties. The second one seeks to guarantee an operational level closely related with the line speed. The goal of thethird model is to integrate the line design and sequencing problems. At last, the performances of the proposed solutionapproaches are presented by analyzing the optimization results on a set of instances of industrial size

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleEnd-of-Life (EOL) products disassembly in remanufacturing has received extensive attention in recent years owing to their advantages in saving non-renewable resources, protecting the environment and promoting economic growth. In the existing literature, 1) most of stochastic disassembly line balancing problems assume that the probability distributions of uncertain parameters are known; 2) majority of disassembly line balancing problems focus on single product; 3) few works study the disassembly line balancing related reverse supply chain (RSC) design problems. In reality, multiple EOL products disassembly related RSC exist in remanufacturing industries, such as automobile, mobile phone, etc. To bring these research gaps, three new disassembly line balancing related problems are investigated in this thesis.Firstly, a single product disassembly line balancing problem (DLBP) with partial information of task processing times is studied, where only the mean, lower and upper bounds of task processing times are known. The objective is to minimize the disassembly cost. For the studied problem, a joint chance-constrained model is proposed. Then, a new distribution-free formulation and a second-order cone program approximation-based formulation are constructed based on problem properties. Experimental results on 7 benchmark instances and 81 randomly generated instances show the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed approach.Secondly, a new stochastic multi-product DLBP with uncertain task processing time is addressed, where only the mean, standard deviation and upper bound of task times are available. The objective is to minimize the disassembly cost. For the problem, a joint chance-constrained model is formulated. Then, based on problem analysis, the joint chance-constrained model is approximately transformed into a distribution-free model. Subsequently, several valid inequalities and an exact lifted cut-and-solve method are designed to efficiently solve the problem. Experiments results on an illustrative example and 490 randomly generated instances demonstrate the good performances of the proposed model, valid inequalities and solution method. Finally, a novel multi-product disassembly line balancing related RSC design problem is investigated, where EOL products supply, components demand and task processing times are assumed to be uncertain. The objectives are to maximize the expected profit and minimize carbon dioxide emissions, simultaneously. For the problem, a bi-objective nonlinear two-stage stochastic programming model is formulated and approximately transformed to a linear distribution-free model based on problem properties. Then, an exact epsilon-constrained based method is proposed, in which an improved Benders decomposition is designed to solve the transformed single objective problems. Numerical experiments including one case study and 200 randomly generated instances are conducted to evaluate the performance of proposed methods. Moreover, sensitivity analysis is made to draw managerial insights

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleOur work considers the problem of balancing the assembly line (ALBP). This is a combinatorial optimization problem which consists in assigning operations to stations of the assembly line while respecting various constraints in order to optimize a criterion of efficiency. Two types of problems are defined, based on the objective to minimize. The type I problem (SALBP-1) minimizes the number of stations in a given cycle time. And the problem of type II (SALBP-2) minimizes the cycle time given by the largest time station with a given number of stations. Problems of type II are only considered in our work. Firstly, a method for determining the lower bound of the cycle time which respects the number of stations is determined. This method combines the Lagrangian relaxation and the columns generation method. The Lagrangian relaxation is used to relax the constraints of precedence. The problem of the Lagrangian relaxation is given by the columns generation. Then, a new heuristic is proposed for solving the SALBP-2 problem. This heuristic consists of two steps. In the first step, an initial solution is produced by an heuristic based on a weight corresponding to the position of operations and a threshold defined for each station. The, in the second step, the solution is improved by a process of transfer and exchange. Finally, meta-heuristics are used to solve deterministic and stochastic problems. Two main meta-heuristics are considered: the electromagnetism-like mechanism algorithm (EM) and the estimated distribution (ED). The performance of our method is confirmed via simulation and it is compared with simulated annealing (SA). Due to its better performance, EM was chosen to balance the stochastic lines with random operation times. In this case, the cycle time is minimized under constraint of the reliability of the line which must be greater than a given value. EM is also used to solve multi-objective problems such as minimizing the cycle time and maximizing the reliability of the line by determining a set of Pareto-optimal solutions

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleHaving a closer look at an automobile manufacturing plant, we find that the assembly line consists of many stations arranged sequentially. A product unit runs through the line in one direction and visits all stations that are interconnected by an automatic conveyor. This unit is subject to a series of operations carried out by operators for a limited time. During this period the operators should carry out all the required operations assigned to this station (less automation). The important issue to be addressed in the workshop is assigning operations along an assembly line in a way that no station is loaded more than the others. This issue is known as: the assembly line balancing problem. The objective of this thesis is to provide an optimal solution to this problem. Our study discusses the case of a manufacturing plant located in Syria. The study tries to solve the assembly line balancing problem with an objective of reducing production costs. Therefore, our key issue deals with determining a configuration associated with the minimum costs including the examination of optimization methods to be used. Two algorithms of operational research are proposed. The first is an exact method based on dynamic programming and the second is a heuristic algorithm based on the “Greedy” algorithm. By applying these algorithms to data of the “Hmisho Syrian plant” we find that the second algorithm gives better results with respect to the minimization of the production costs

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe assembly of the components on the car is the main activity of an automobile final factory. This activity of assembly generates a whole of essential tasks to the good performance of a final factory. It requires a powerful management of internal flows of supplies and in particular the routing of the parts from the warehouse toward the line where they will be assembled on the vehicles. The transport of these parts is ensured by logistic manpower. A crucial point of the internal logistics is the logistic balancing, that is the affectation between the logistic operators of the references to be delivered to the assembly line. The objective of this thesis is to create tools of decision-making aid for logistic balancing. We modelled the activity of a logistic operator taken independently of the other operators, simulated displacements of the operators in the alleys of an assembly workshop, proposed indicators of performances to evaluate the feasibility and the difficulty in holding a logistic station, evaluated the waste of time due to obstructions in the alleys of the workshop, and optimized the distribution of the references between the various logistic operators. We are able thanks to simulation to predict the performances of a given logistic balancing, and more precisely which will be the logistic stations with problems before the installation of this one in the workshop. We also provided an optimization tool which helps the person in charge of the logistic manpower to establish its balancing automaticaly

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAn overview of existing problems and methods for the design of assembly and transfer lines is given. A new workforce assignment problem for a paced multi-product assembly line with a goal of minimizing the number of workers is studied. Various precedence relations between operations and functions of operation processing times dependent on the number of workers areconsidered. A new problem of multi-objective optimization for a single product transfer line is solved. Several exact and heuristic methods and their computer implementations for both problems are developed by the author. An application of developed approaches to solving a real production problem relevant to the European project amePLM is demonstrated
Abdous, Mohammed Amine. „Optimal design of manufacturing systems with ergonomics : application to assembly lines“. Thesis, Lyon, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019LYSEM034.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis contributes to the research stream of evaluation and optimization of ergonomics in the design phase of manufacturing systems. Poor physical ergonomics in manufacturing systems results in lower productivity, lower motivation, injuries, and increases costs for companies. The main objective of this work is the proposition of optimization methods for manufacturing systems design, with the joint consideration of ergonomics, productivity, and cost. This work focuses on the preliminary design of assembly lines. The challenge is to provide decision-makers with optimization methods to take ergonomics into account while satisfying all technological and economic constraints. The combinatorial problems considered are the assembly line balancing problem and the selection of equipment. We considered a quantitative model of ergonomics based on fatigue and recovery equations taken from the literature. In addition to the combinatorial nature of problems dealt with, the main scientific challenge stems from the non-linear nature of the ergonomics model. We proposed a linearization allowing defining an integer linear program, we developed optimal and approximate resolution approaches. Besides, we proposed a generalization of the approach, with a multi-objective model optimizing cost and ergonomics. We developed a multi-objective algorithm for its resolution.Based on the proposed models and optimization algorithms, we have defined a methodology for the design of assembly lines with the optimization of ergonomics from the design phase. This methodology has been successfully applied to industrial cases
