This conceptual paper examines how Enneagram as a personality typing system could be adopted as a meta-model across multiple domains. The enneagram strategy is a structural typology that many organisations and individuals use to effectively understand their business profiles and interpersonal patterns, despite scholars showing concerns about its robustness and dynamism. This paper extends the argument as to how the mechanics of the Enneagram are intrinsically interrelated with (a) organisational systems and networks, (b) organisational grammar, (c) supply chains, and (d) creativity. It also emphasizes the importance/close association of the Enneagram tool with interdependence, business model, networks, statics, and system dynamics. The paper uses a combination of research methods (theoretical, exploratory, and descriptive) to evaluate the adaptability of the enneagram. The findings demonstrate that enneagram as a strategy could be applied to various business phenomena but requires more cross-domain empirical research. The enneagram can also be used to develop meta-models/toy models that can relate to the organisational outcomes by integrating tangible and intangible process assets. This paper reliably lays a set of principles/foundations to launch the enneagram approach to a complex, broad, systematic, and creative scope.

This article explores George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff’s (c.1866-1949) Enneagram Movements. Gurdjieff used the symbol of the enneagram in his teaching to demonstrate the ‘perpetual motion’ of his cosmic Laws of Three and Seven, which govern his cosmological system. The symbol is composed of a circle encompassing a triangle representing the numbers 3, 6, and 9 (the Law of Three), and a six-sided figure representing the numbers 1, 4, 2, 8, 5, 7 (the Law of Seven). This article sets out to investigate the meaning of the enneagram and the significance of the Enneagram Movements, which enact the motion of the symbol. As well as examining primary and secondary sources on Gurdjieff, the author draws from first-hand experience of the Movements, particularly her work studying the Movement ‘Enneagram 5’ in a Movements class in Sydney, Australia.

A phenomenological study was conducted to gain knowledge of the lived experience of three master’s level counseling supervisees, with a doctoral student supervisor, utilizing the Enneagram, an ancient personality classification system of nine core personality types, throughout 15 weeks of supervision. This study explored the use of the Enneagram and its impact on the supervisory relationship. Emergent themes included: (a) self-awareness; (b) other awareness; (c) relationship and rapport; and (d) professional identity and role induction. The use of the Enneagram within supervision during early stages of counselor development appeared to be helpful to these students in fostering growth and learning.

This paper uncovers School Inspection as the central measure of quality improvement of education in Malaysia. Undeniably, the Malaysian Education Blueprint 2013-2025 has posed greater demand for quality assurance and monitoring as well as organizational efficiency and accountability. Consequently, the Malaysian Inspectorate of Schools and Quality Assurance which is also known as Jemaah Nazir Dan Jaminan Kualiti (JNJK, hereafter) is required to be well equipped with the knowledge, skills and also the current concern in education to ensure that a high standard of quality education is achieved and maintained in schools. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the current practices of school inspection towards leadership performance in the context of Knowles’ Process Enneagram ©. The study employed a qualitative research design involving respondents from the top management of JNJK in Sabah, Malaysia. The semi-structured interviews were guided by a Self-Organizing Leadership model known as the Process Enneagram developed by Richard N. Knowles (2002) to gain an in-depth understanding of the uniqueness of the leadership practices manifested by the JNJK. The Process Enneagram © is a tool used to identify characteristics and traits shaping the organizational performance and it has been successfully used in many Western countries. The findings of these qualitative data are characterized into various domains based on Knowles’ framework which see the operation of an organization falling into nine major attributes. The study identified various categories shaping the work of school inspectors, namely The Guardian of Standard Quality in Education (Self-Identification), Evaluation and Data Collection (Fulfillment of Purpose & Role), Standardized Operation Procedure (Self-Organization), Adherence (Self-Principles), Policy Implementations (Result-Oriented), Sufficient Guidelines (Improvement-Oriented), Research-based Approach (Reliability of Methods), Feedback and Guidance (Self-Connection) and Communication and Competence (Challenge-Driven). The findings of this study further indicated that the cycles of work undertaken by school inspectors creates the value for the organization (JNJK) as well as successive inspection cycles. This is in tandem to the JNJK’s obligation and aspiration to promote improvement through school inspection which specifically targets the quality of teaching and learning, leadership and management as well as the overall educational standards across the Malaysian education system.

Annotation:
A theoretical framework of existential coherence is presented, explaining how health, quality of life (QOL), and the ability to function were originally created and developed to rehabilitate human life from an existential perspective. The theory is inspired by the work of Aaron Antonovsky and explains our surprising recent empirical findings—that QOL, health, and ability primarily are determined by our consciousness. The theory is a matrix of nine key elements in five layers: (1) coherence; (2) purpose and talent; (3) consciousness, love, and physicality/sexuality; (4) light and joy; and (5) QOL/meaning of life. The layer above causes the layer below, with the layer of QOL again feeding the fundamental layer of coherence. The model holds the person responsible for his or her own degree of reality, happiness, and being present. The model implies that when a person takes responsibility in all nine “dimensions” of life, he or she can improve and develop health, the ability to function, all aspects of QOL, and the meaning of life. The theory of existential coherence integrates a wide range of QOL theories from Jung and Maslow to Frankl and Wilber. It is a nine-ray theory in accordance with Gurjieff's enneagram and the old Indian chakra system. It can be used in the holistic medical clinic and in existential coaching. Love is in the center of the model and rehabilitation of love in its broadest sense is, accordingly, the essence of holistic medicine. To know yourself, your purpose of life (life mission) and talents, and taking these into full use and becoming coherent with life inside and reality outside is what human life is essentially about. The new model has been developed to integrate the existing knowledge in the complex field of holistic medicine. Its strength is that it empowers the holistic physician to treat the patient with even severe diseases and can also be used for existential rehabilitation, holistic psychiatry, and sexology. Its major weakness is that it turns holistic medicine more into an art than into a science because the physician must master intent, which is a poorly understood dimension of existence.

It can be assumed that who we are will influence our way of learning and teaching. Education is concerned with content but the importance of awareness still remains in the background: students must adapt to their teachers, who, in turn, do not always have tools to understand the impact of their individuality on the way they teach. The Enneagram system proposes a new perspective on the teaching-learning continuum and provides a framework in which personality descriptions that account for differences and diversity can be placed, and a conceptual vocabulary to understand mental and emotional habits. This experimental and innovative contribution analyses how the Enneagram model can promote the development of soft skills, especially those related to self-awareness and emotional intelligence, in both teachers and learners.

Since civil construction is a field that needs human labor on a daily basis, Lean Thinking seeks a better production, with fewer errors and waste of value. For the implementation of the system, it is necessary to apply other methods, coming from psychology and capable of studying the different types of personalities, which are the Enneagram and NEO-FFI, being linked to each other. In order to verify the variation in the production of the activities in which the tools are applied, a study was carried out in the form of a questionnaire about a management system capable of increasing production and improving quality in civil construction, through the identification of the profiles of people with the greatest deficit in the identified services. The study was carried out in two works in the city of Goiânia, and it was possible to carry out a training based on the treatment mode of each profile and thus analyze the results obtained about it, the activities that were part of the study, presented a better production, progressing by 38.78% and 19.57% in works 1 and 2 respectively, thus generating savings and proving efficiency of the methods adopted.

Chaos Theory, which is the study of nonlinear dynamic systems, correlates to organizational systems. Organizations are not physical systems, and when they reach the bifurcation point, also known as the edge of chaos, they start to gain and produce unexpected results. In the past, how this actually happens remains mysterious, primarily because organizations are made up of individuals, and how the edge of chaos concept relates to the individual psyche is unclear. The available evidence suggests that individuals and groups find new energy to create and innovate when their organization is in this state. The available evidence, is known as the Enneagram of Personality, is making it presence known in the social science of organizational behavior within the organizational side of business. The main focus of this chapter is on the innovative strategy of utilizing the Enneagram of Personality as it applies to social sciences through chaos theory.
