Drawing on congruence theory, this study aims to examine the impact of internal brand management, perceived level of job opportunities, and their interaction effects on job applicants during the anticipatory socialization process in the hospitality industry. Data were collected from students and job seekers in the hospitality industry with qualitative (focus group interview) and quantitative approaches (2 × 2 and 2 × 2 × 2 between-subjects quasi-experimental design). The findings indicate that recruiters who receive internal brand management have a positive impact on applicants’ congruence perception toward the brand. Furthermore, this effect becomes stronger when candidates perceive employment opportunities as abundant, which increases job attraction and job pursuit intentions.

Annotation:

Socialization is a key trend in modern socioeconomic development. At the same time, the mechanism for its implementation can be affected by various situational factors. In particular, the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the development of socialization. The author analyzes this influence as it pertains to a specific component of socialization – the development of remote employment, which has become quite popular during the pandemic and in light of measures which the government introduced in order to curb the spread of COVID-19. Analysis of problems in the development of remote employment as a specific manifestation of socialization and socialization in general allowed for substantiating the conclusion about the priority role of education development. The author recommends providing support to the development of the system of education as a whole and the system of continuous learning.

The implementation of public relations in the socialization of the labor social security program at the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Padang has not been carried out optimally because the socialization carried out does not cover all BPJS Employment stakeholders and socialization media that are underutilized optimally. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of public relations in the socialization of the labor social security program at the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Padang. The method used is Qualitative Descriptive Research. Determination of Informants in this study was carried out with Snowball Sampling Techniques. Data collection is done through Observation, Interview and Documentation, with Model Data Analysis Techniques of Miles and Huberman. The findings in this study indicate that (1) the socialization of the labor social security program is not carried out directly to workers; (2) the lack of awareness of employers registering workers in the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Padang program; (3) the media for socialization of the labor social security program has not been used optimally.Keyword: Public Relations, Socialization, Employment Social Security

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to compare newcomers’ perceptions on how employers structure the socialization process in the core and peripheral workforce and to explore the proactivity of these new hires in form of information seeking behavior. Design/methodology/approach – The data of this study were collected from a German sample with 359 contingent and permanent new hires in skilled jobs. Findings – The employment type was linked to both socialization tactics firms provided during organizational entry as well as information seeking of permanent and contingent newcomers. In addition, organizational tenure was positively linked with information seeking of both newly hired temporary agency workers and newcomers holding fixed-term contracts. Research limitations/implications – Since most of the participants worked for different employers, differences in socialization might also be caused by different organizational cultures. Future studies should compare the socialization of new permanent and new temporary workers on an inter-organizational and intra-organizational level. Practical implications – For skilled jobs firms should offer long-term assignments for temporary agency workers, as they are associated with higher proactivity. Further, firms should intensify the socialization of newcomers holding longer-term work contracts, as these employees may tend to show lower proactivity. Social implications – A structured organizational entry of skilled temporary agency workers may represent a stepping stone for permanent employment due to improved work attitudes and behaviors. Originality/value – This is the first study that examines employment characteristics as potential determinants of organizational socialization tactics. In addition, the study uses a German sample and therefore, follows recent calls for more research on organizational socialization in non-Anglo-Saxon work contexts.

The multiple analysis of rate of dependency between innovative processes and structural labour market changes in the form of evolution in sector of employment was exposed in the article. It has been proved that the impact of innovations on the labour market can be considered, on the one hand, as a part of multi-factor socio-economic macro-, meso-, micro-level systems, which makes a direct or indirect impact on state of other elements of system and which is under its influence at this time; on the other hand, as an open, dynamic, flexible system, functioning of which leads to socio-economic resources development. The definition of labour market has been suggested as a system of socio-economic relations between workers, employers and society (organizations and institutes) for realization of ability to work, supporting social guarantees, approximation of parties’ interests of labour relations, state`s interests, legal control of terms of employment etc. The analysis of structural changes, which take place in the labour market of different levels administrative territorial state`s structure by means of innovations, covers the period 2012-2017. The impact of innovations on employment is associated with `creative destruction` where innovations, on the one hand, ruin current workplaces and, on the other hand, create new ones. Analysis has demonstrated that employment increasing and related structural improvements are determined by kind of incorporated innovations. Organizational innovations have more impact on size and structure of employment, than technological ones. The practical importance of the research involves developing of methodological and practical aspects of choosing multiple approach in relation to innovation analysis as a determinant of structural labour market changes. The originality of the research is reflected in the comprehensive creative analysis of innovations from the point of view of activation of the youth labour market in Ukraine. The key factors of the low level of involvement of young citizens in the country's economy and society are identified. The authors have suggested the prospects for the development of the youth labour market, the elimination of youth unemployment, which are conditioned by the peculiarities of the social condition and employment behaviour of young people. The need to study the experience of European countries is emphasized, where training in the working professions is well organized and the youth unemployment rate is the lowest in Europe. Distinctiveness. Conducted researches let to confirm attained results in relation to choosing implements for coping with current troubles and disproportions in society. Implementation of multiply approach of analysis and diagnostics of correlation of innovations and employment will make a direct impact on supporting living standards and progressive socio-economic state`s development. The monitoring of solidarity of actions of public communities, government agencies, enterprise structures will ensure attainment of active increasing of innovation technologies, high living standards level, that will offer some new opportunities for business environment in relation to labour productiveness maintaining method and equivalent income level from enterprise activity, will solve the unemployment and labour migration issues, create some new flexible forms of employment, increase the level of state`s competitiveness in global economy facilities. This research aims to contextualize, understand and deeply analyze school phenomenon and its effects in life and children socializing. The research aims to find out how children understand school dropout, how they interpret situations and which their perspectives for school and socializing are. Based on initial analyses for actual researches for school dropout in other places, it is noticed that most researches have been correlative and long-tongued; some of them have been assertive programs to prevent school dropout. These researches experiences are new for Albania. At the same time, it has been analyzed Albanian researches that are done by foreign and local organizations and it has been noticed that these researches do not go deep to the correlative factors, causes and long term influence of school dropout. On the other hand, at actual researches, it is studied only present factors for school dropout phenomenon, but it is not studied long terms factors for example: influence on socializing, kind of job, employment. All in all, this research is based on a holistic perspective of the phenomenon. The Research methodology used in the study is a qualitative research and it is based on these methods of collecting information: case study; interview; focus group; analysis of documents and materials in the field. There have been five crucial elements in research realizing procedure: Specifying research subjects; determining the sample; choosing instruments; creating the implementation plan; interpreting research findings; To gather information for school dropout and its dimensions, it has been identified pupils' group and interest group located in Elbasan district.

Researchers generally agree with the idea of the police personality; however, there exists disagreement as to whether it is primarily attributable to predispositional traits or on-the-job socialization. As a test of the two major theoretical models, two groups of recalled police officers who were laid off approximately one and two years, respectively, were administered the short-form Rokeach Dogmatism Scale. Employment status during layoff was considered essential in comparing authoritarian levels between the two groups. It was hypothesized that if authoritarian levels of both groups, regardless of layoff employment status, did not differ significantly, then the predispositional model would be supported. If the groups' levels of authoritarianism did vary significantly, then the socialization model would have merit. Although race and age are associated with authoritarianism levels, the results support the predispositional model. Implications from the findings are discussed.

The role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in increasing income and employment can certainly be considered large for Indonesia. This longitudinal analysis of interview data for the years 1988 and 1990 explores the determinants of three forms of underemployment among young adults: part-time employment, temporary employment, and unemployment. The authors look at two occupational groups (office technology workers and machine Operators) across six European countries (Belgium, England, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the Netherlands). Factors that affected patterns of underemployment were education, occupational group, initial labor market experience, perceptions of the labor market (interviewees' view of labor market conditions), and organizational socialization practices (the strategies employers took to integrate the young workers into their first jobs). Organizational and societal factors appear to have had greater influence than behavioral variables such as job search strategies and demographic variables such as gender and age. Unemployment and temporary work had many determinants in common; part-time work, in contrast, was affected only by initial labor market experience and organizational socialization practices.

The article clarifies the essence of socialization as a social, psychological and pedagogical phenomenon. Theoretical analysis and research have been carried out on the characteristics of the social and psychological support for the socialization of graduates of rehabilitation centres at the community level. Bearing in mind that the path of development of persons with special needs is through cooperation, Social assistance of another person who can orient, guide and helps to adjust to unstable social conditions. During the work, a system of methods was used. Theoretical are analysis and synthesis at all stages of the study. The results of which were used to substantiate the essence of the socialization features of graduates of rehabilitation centres. Empirical one is questionnaires, one-on-one interviews, diagnostic methods for assessing the socialization of persons with disabilities. During the interpretation of our research, a low level of interest in life and a negative evaluation of self and behaviour among persons with disabilities have been identified. The majority of rehabilitation centre graduates have had limited social interactions in their lives. It turns out that most of the graduates of rehabilitation centres experience difficulties in socialization and social adaptation after graduation, lack of communication, difficulties in initiating social contact. It was found that the majority of graduates of rehabilitation centres were not employed. The main cause of the employment problems among graduates of rehabilitation centres is a limited number of job opportunities for persons with disabilities. And the main type of employment assistance according to the researches is external assistance of qualified specialists. The features of social work with graduates of rehabilitation centres at the community level have been scientifically and experimentally tested.

Person to organization fit and person to the job fit are considered among many other factors that affect employment outcomes during employee selection process. There is a consensus to a large extent, that both of them as candidate’s qualities have great positive influence and affect recruiters, personnel managers and employers’ decisions, and respectively hiring results. This study aims to assess the level of influence of employee candidates’ qualities of Person-to-Organization fit and Person-to-the Job fit, and their relative affect in recruiters’ hiring decisions on staff selection through interview process. The study also aims to explore if there is a significant difference between the effects that these factors have on hireability-selectability of candidates. The significance of candidate’s Person to Organization Fit and Person to the Job Fit were measured according to three choices of recruiter’s decisions during interview, which were more specifically the possibility to hire them, the possibility to consider them as suitable for the position they applied for, and the possibility of giving them a second chance for another interview. These three measures were consolidated in one indicator with the term hireability-eligibility which has been tested for reliability using Cronbach’s alpha. A field study has been conducted in order to research the importance and relative influence of candidates’ person to organization fit and person to the job fit as well, in recruiters’ hiring decisions, during interview selection process. Findings reveal that both of these candidates’ attributes, Person to Organization fit and Person to the Job fit, have significant effects on recruiters’ decisions and selection outcomes, regarding the hireabilty, eligibility index when they are assessed separately, using simple regression analysis. However, when they are combined in a multiple regression analysis model, only Person to Organization fit has a significant effect on recruiters, employers’ decisions.

This paper examines a neglected aspect of the debate about skill in contemporary economic sociology. It focuses on the processes of socialization whereby skilled workers acquire their social identities. It is suggested that apprenticeship relations between older and younger workers are of prime importance. It is also argued that skilled workers acquire a multiple set of identities—occupational, craft and class—which can be ranked hierarchically. These multiple identities act as resources for the interpretation of events. It is also argued that socialization into skilled identities is linked with forms of meaning acquired by apprentices prior to entry into paid employment.

There can be no doubt that matching the needs of the organization to the expectations of new employees is a critical factor influencing the quality and effectiveness of the long-term employment relationship. Riddick Bowe's failed entry into an organization that has prided itself on its ability to communicate expectations, and the nature of the socialization process that the recruit will encounter, demonstrates what can happen when an organization varies from a successful recruitment/selection process. This paper begins by summarizing some of the important facets of organizational recruitment/selection and subsequent socialization tactics. Bowe's early departure from recruit training is detailed, identifying specific errors made by the Marine Corps relating to their established approach to realistic recruiting and socialization. Finally, implications for action by other organizations are discussed in the form of lessons to be learned.

The present report is of findings from a longitudinal study of work values. The findings relate to four important areas, (a) the significance of parental socialization in the formation of intrinsic and extrinsic work values, (b) the effect of early employment on intrinsic and extrinsic work values, respectively, (c) the differential effects of these social experiences across ethnic and gender groups, (d) and the stability of intrinsic and extrinsic work values from late adolescence to the early years of adulthood. In a sample of 3290 African American and Caucasian students, young people consistently placed greater emphasis on intrinsic than on extrinsic work values. There was a decline in extrinsic work values between adolescence and the early years of adulthood. When parents held high aspirations, their children placed greater emphasis on work orientations. Race had a more significant influence on work values than either socioeconomic status or employment experience.

Abstract This study aims to observe how much influence the policy of gender mainstreaming on employment in Banda Aceh city. Employment in this study is projected as the number of workers. The scope of this research is in the government of the Banda Aceh city by using SWOT analysis method. The data collected is secondary data obtained through interviews. The results of the study show that based on swot analysis there are several threats, opportunities, challenges, and weaknesses in the implementation of gender mainstreaming policies in employment in Banda Aceh city. The disadvantages are the limited willingness to work, the double burden of women as wives or mothers, lack of socialization and training, and the absence of disaggregated data. The strength of PUG policy is the Law Regulation, one of which is Presidential Instruction No. 9 of 2000, the level of education, skills, and understanding of HR.Government of Banda Aceh city should be able to support this policy through pro-gender equality programs so that there will be no gender gap in the city of Banda Aceh and One of the efforts that can be taken by the government in dealing with the issue of gender disparity is to create gender responsive programs in the form of socialization, discussion, and others that not only involve men but also women.

This research is intended to increase tax awareness, tax socialization, fiscal service, and tax penalties. The data used in this study were primary data. Primary data from questionnaires distributed to Individual Taxpayer in Bengkulu City. The number of questionnaires distributed was 109 questionnaires, but only 104 questionnaires could be processed. Data were analyzed by using multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS program. The results of the research indicate the existence of taxation awareness and tax penalties on positive individual Taxpayer, while the socialization of taxation and fiscal service does not apply to individual taxpayer compliance. This research can contribute for KPP Pratama Kota Bengkulu to improve taxpayer compliance by raising tax awareness and tax penalties. The limitations of this study, researchers only use individual taxpayer respondents who have business activities in the city of Bengkulu. Using an interpretive method, two investigators independently coded the transcripts and arrived at themes.Results:Themes identified included transition, lack of information, lack of resources, caregiver needs, independence, employment, and education.Conclusion:Families and staff experienced frustration with service fragmentation/access to alternative programming. Families and staff wanted opportunities for employment and independent living programming but lacked resources. Implications for practice and policy are discussed.

The graduate assistant (GA) athletic trainer position often symbolizes an important transitory role from student to autonomous practitioner. The position also is used to help gain valuable experience for future employment. Our purpose was to understand the socialization process of the GA athletic trainer as well as investigate the career intentions as they begin to seek employment following their experiences in that transitory role. Twenty-five (5 males, 20 females) GA athletic trainers were recruited and participated in this study. Findings indicate the experiences of novice athletic trainers serving as GAs have the potential to both positively or negatively influence perceptions of the athletic training profession and, ultimately, career intentions.

The purpose of this study is to explore the relation between personality traits and the level of aspiration to acquire new skills and improve one’s competence in the midst of first employment. Although with mixed results, previous studies indicated that personality attributes influence goal orientation, both in the school and work settings. However, there have not been any studies that have specifically analysed this relation in the context preceding the first employment. The results of this research, on a sample of last-semester business administration students of an esteemed mid-European university, indicate that prior to the first employment, two personality traits—openness to new ideas and disposition to negative emotions—influence the level of motivation to acquire knowledge and novel modes of action. Insight into the antecedents of an individual’s orientation towards increasing and developing competencies prior to the first employment is an important topic for organizations who have the imperative to develop more sustainable knowledge management practices in an early stage of organizational socialization.

This study contributes to the limited knowledge on university recreation and student affairs part-time student employment programs, and how this experience can promote student development. The research examines differences in socialization opportunities perceived by student employees of a campus recreation department. Socialization was measured using group cohesion (a measure of the individual's attachment to the group). Analysis determined that African American student employees perceived a significantly lower overall level of cohesion compared with Caucasian and Hispanic student employees. In addition, students working in program areas that required less interdependence and limited ongoing training perceived significantly lower levels of cohesion compared with student employees working in positions that required regular in-service training and job-task interdependence. The authors discuss implications of the findings, recommendations for student development professionals, and suggestions for future research.

This empirical study explored the development of implicit leadership theories among 16 to 18 year-old students in secondary schools prior to any formal leadership training or full-time employment. Students from governance, athletics, clubs, performance groups, and part-time work groups completed interviews and questionnaires. Adult leaders of activity groups also completed questionnaires. Results were analyzed by activity and role (e.g., student leader, student group member, and adult supervisor) for three separate dependent variables: Adult Leaders, Leaders in General, and Student Leaders. Results show that adolescents categorize leader behavior into similar constructs that have been previously established by research with adult samples experienced in organizational life. Experience in groups but not necessarily as a leader contributes to developing implicit leadership theories and type of activity guides such leadership attributions. Gender differences in the expectations for leaders were found and support the existence of early socialization into gender-specific leadership role stereotypes.

PurposeA significant and increasing number of graduate recruits take up employment for specific companies by virtue of their ethical reputation and profiles. As such, ethical fit has become an important dimension of the attraction and retention of graduates. However, preconceived notions of a company’s ethical orientation obtained through the media and initial recruitment exercises may be challenged during the induction and socialization phases of organizational entry, such that people may find that the reputation is just an external façade leading to disappointment and a reassessment of the employer. The paper aims to discuss these issues.Design/methodology/approachThe study’s essential focus is on building a conceptual ethical fit model and to underline the need for further conceptual development in the area. The analysis of extant secondary data and the methodology of serendipity were used.FindingsThe model’s conceptual cogency and practical utility for human resource management are analyzed in the light of specific secondary data and specific propositions described.Research limitations/implicationsA major concern with conceptual models is empirical validity and practical utility which requires empirical testing. However, this limitation has been mitigated by the use of a serendipitous approach from a qualitative empirical study with a generalized person–organization (P–O) focus.Practical implicationsVarious practical implications of the model described in the paper for HR management are evident from empirical studies in the area which have dealt with particular aspects of the model. For example, Baueret al.(1998) found that socialization effects employee turnover. And, Cable and Parsons (2001) indicate that organizational socialization is critical in generating committed employees whose values are congruent with those of the organization. Since committed employees are critical for the success of the organization, they suggest training programs for hiring managers and criteria in performance appraisals that include the development of employee value congruence through specific formal socialization tactics.Originality/valueThe paper contributes to the extant literature by building a dynamic conceptual model with attendant testable propositions that explore the implications of employee misalignment in pre-socialization anticipatory organizational ethical fit and post-socialization organizational ethical fit. More specifically, the study contributes to the extant literature by considering the socialization process in relation to ethical fit dynamics. It also considers from the point of view of specific moral development theory and changing perceptions of ethical climate that occur during organizational socialization. Serendipitous material obtained from a qualitative study of P–O fit puts flesh on the bones of the effects of the socialization process on ethical fit described by the paper’s conceptual model while providing circumstantial evidence for the propositions and their practical utility for HR management.

This research used Functional Imperatives Talcott Parson theory to analyze the structural and cultural role of self-employment woman’s family. The methodology used in this case was qualitative research design.The result of the research shows the economic factor. Besides the factor of young marriage culture which causes the divorce. After divorce, the women start to work as self-employment woman. Lacking of the education awareness can be one of the causes in increasing the number of self-employment woman.Lacking of communication among the family can cause the parents are not able to keep the children from social deviation. Social deviation which has been occupied for long time can be human habit and common activity in society.

AbstractLittle research provides concrete evidence of relationships between socialization by the women's movement and support for feminism and equality. Support for these issues has increased in Canada since the early 1970s, and using cohort analysis this study demonstrates clear generational differences in this support. The greatest support appears among women's movement and post-women's-movement cohorts. Furthermore, this article identifies gender differences on feminism and equality not appearing in the aggregate data. These differences increase with added controls for education and employment, suggesting links between women's attitudes and the development of a gender consciousness.

Result of research indicates that capacity building of public servants at Local Employment Agency of Palembang City in general has been quite well. Employee transparency for information openness is not working optimally. Employee responsiveness to administrative service is adequate. Employee equality in delivering service is sufficient. Capacity building of public servants must be supported by enthusiastic leadership which drives employee and collective commitment based on work contract and employee agreement. Employee must be made understood through socialization, internal session or even internal regulation.

A mail survey of 353 young adults who had physical disabilities and were between the ages of 20 and 30 was conducted to identify what bridges and barriers they experienced in their transition from school to work or alternative situation. The respondents were recruited from 11 education, rehabilitation and self-help organizations in New York and California. Data on career development were analyzed by multivariate techniques to assess the impact of personal characteristics, functional capacities, and work-socialization experiences on these outcomes. Consistent with research on the general population, personal characteristics (e.g., educational achievement) were the best disriminators of employment status. Reported use and benefit of formal helping resources was rather limited, suggesting need to re-shape the role, perception and/or impact of these professional services. Access to additional resources and improved opportunities through linkages among the special education, vocational rehabilitation and private-sector employment communities is recommended.

Individuals have several possible points of introduction into the nonprofit sector, including parental socialization, volunteering, and academic engagement. However, little is known in regard to how individuals learn about the nonprofit sector as a place of employment and become interested in nonprofit careers. Individuals are often exposed to nonprofit “work” for the first time as a volunteer. This research examines the particular experiences nonprofit employees had prior to their entry into the sector that may have influenced their selection of a nonprofit career. Results of this mixed-methods inquiry indicate that volunteering is an important conduit, as it allows people to see that paid employment exists in the nonprofit sector and allows them to better understand the various career options and career trajectories available to them. Finally, this paper discusses the practical implications for nonprofit practitioners and academic advisors, and their roles in connecting service to career.

Professional orientation of young people, the formation of their interests and needs is an important component of the socialization process. Crisis phenomena are manifested in the contradiction between organized and spontaneous processes of professional socialization, an increase in the rate of unemployment among young people, modern demands of young people and the real level of career guidance work, vocational training and employment of young people, which became the basis for researching the processes of professional socialization of young people. The sample consisted of 2315 respondents, of which 934 respondents were interviewed in Hungary according to the quota sample, 1381 respondents according to the probabilistic sample in Slovakia, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine. The research was carried out using a student survey (in cooperation with the Center for Research and Development of Higher Education, University of Debrecen (CHERD-Hungary)). The results of the study indicate that young people come to a situation of choosing a profession without a certain motivation, knowledge about the world of professions, having vague ideas about their future profession. Graduates rely on the opinions of others, are influenced by parents or teachers. The result is often a false choice of a future profession. Hungarian (77,5%), Romanian (75,7%) and Serbian (76,3%) students are the most independent in making decisions about studying in higher education; Ukrainian students (50,8%) who are guided by on the opinion of parents and teachers. A common feature for Ukrainian, Hungarian, Serbian and Romanian students is the enrichment of their knowledge (average score 3,28) and a prestigious, well-paid job (average score 3,05), for Slovak students the most characteristic motive for getting an education is budget funding (2,94 points) and the requirement of graduates by employers (2,0 points). It has been determined that young people have a high willingness to work to ensure their own material well-being. The prospect of further research is the development of recommendations for strengthening work in the field of vocational guidance for young people, contributing to the solution of the issue of devaluation of professional values.

Context: Many newly credentialed athletic trainers gain initial employment as graduate assistants (GAs) in the collegiate setting, yet their socialization into their role is unknown. Exploring the socialization process of GAs in the collegiate setting could provide insight into how that process occurs. Objective: To explore the professional socialization of GAs in the collegiate setting to determine how GAs are socialized and developed as athletic trainers. Design: Qualitative study. Setting: Individual phone interviews. Patients or Other Participants: Athletic trainers (N = 21) who had supervised GAs in the collegiate setting for a minimum of 8 years (16 men [76%], 5 women [24%]; years of supervision experience = 14.6 ± 6.6). Data Collection and Analysis: Data were collected via phone interviews, which were recorded and transcribed verbatim. Data were analyzed by a 4-person consensus team with a consensual qualitative-research design. The team independently coded the data and compared ideas until a consensus was reached, and a codebook was created. Trustworthiness was established through member checks and multianalyst triangulation. Results: Four themes emerged: (1) role orientation, (2) professional development and support, (3) role expectations, and (4) success. Role orientation occurred both formally (eg, review of policies and procedures) and informally (eg, immediate role immersion). Professional development and support consisted of the supervisor mentoring and intervening when appropriate. Role expectations included decision-making ability, independent practice, and professionalism; however, supervisors often expected GAs to function as experienced, full-time staff. Success of the GAs depended on their adaptability and on the proper selection of GAs by supervisors. Conclusions: Supervisors socialize GAs into the collegiate setting by providing orientation, professional development, mentoring, and intervention when necessary. Supervisors are encouraged to use these socialization tactics to enhance the professional development of GAs in the collegiate setting.

Research background: Globalization has determined the orientation of transformations in the labour market and employment: on the one hand, blurring of borders has led to an increase in interstate and remote employment (out staffing, freelance), lower costs for the wage fund and increased professional competition for the self-employed, on the other hand, there is an increase in information and digital inequality leading to discrimination in the labour market and high professional mobility of the workforce.. Purpose of the article: The purpose of the article is to analyse and systematize the main trends in the global labour market that affect the process of professionalization of various categories of employees in the Russian Federation. Methods: As the main research methods there were the analysis of documents, analysis of statistical data, secondary data analysis and expert survey used. Findings & Value added: The analysis described global trends in the labour market, as well as their impact on the process of professionalization of various categories of employees in the Russian Federation. Various options for modern professionalization are considered - traditional (based on formal vocational education) and non-traditional. The acquired and relevant professional competencies and professional reputation, rather than the level of knowledge and qualifications, prove to be economic and valuable. The study contributes to the development of the theory of professional socialization and the concept of modern employment, at the same time it can be useful in determining economic policy strategies in the field of labour market and employment regulation.

A sociological analysis of the factors of integration of young generations into active economic life is based on a study of the values of young people in relation to employment and professional growth. The information society has two key parameters that influence the construction of the trajectory of educational, professional, labor or entrepreneurial activity — the significant role of knowledge in creating value and the digital space as a source of information and the place for individuals to fulfill themselves in society and the social and professional community. A theoretical analysis of labor socialization allows researchers to move on to the results of empirical studies carried out with the participation of authors in 2017 and 2019-2020. The data obtained are evaluative in nature and allow authors to draw conclusions about the influence of the media space on young people entering working age taking decisions on choosing a profession and a form of economic activity, planning employment and career growth.

Abstract: Capacity Building of Public Servants to Attain Good Governance (Study at The Office of Personel agency and human resource development (BKPSDM) Kota Palembang). The realization of good governance needs professional and competent public servants. Early step that shall be taken by local government is capacity building of public servants in every public organization in the local. One public organization that is Local Employment Agency of Palembang city. Result of research indicates that capacity building of public servants at Local Employment Agency of Palembang City in general has been quite well. Employee transparency for information openness is not working optimally. Employee responsiveness to administrative service is adequate. Employee equality in delivering service is sufficient. Capacity building of public servants must be supported by enthusiastic leadership which drives employee and collective commitment based on work contract and employee agreement. Employee must be made understood through socialization, internal session or even internal regulation.

Based on policy analysis and individual interviews, the author analyzes the care workers’ precarious situations in home-based elder care in Slovenia, a post-socialist, European Union country characterized by a rapidly aging population and delays in adapting a long-term care system to this new social risk. Employment and quasi-employment positions which coexist in home-based care can be sorted along two continuums: between public and market service; between formal and informal work. The author argues that working conditions in home-based care differ according to the position of the care worker on these two continuums, that is, being employed in public services, being self-employed, working in informal care markets, holding a status of family assistant, or being an informal family caregiver. Although the working conditions in public services are deteriorating, the analysis shows that precarity is more severe in market and informal care, while formalization and socialization of care bring about less precarious conditions.
