This study aimed to evaluate the growth of stunted elver Anguilla bicolor from three different periods of stunting process. Prior to experiment, the stunting process of elver was carried out by limiting the feeding rate at 2% of the fish biomass and temperature media with 24 oC for 2, 4, and 6 months period. The study used a completely randomized design with three different sources of stunted elvers (i.e., A = 2 months; B = 4 months; C = 6 months) as treatments with three replications. Measurement of RNA:DNA ratio, protein content, profile blood description and elver otolith growth was carried out at the beginning and end of rearing process. Post-stunting elvers were reared on artificial media designed according to elver habitat and controlled. Elver was stocked with 15 individuals in the artificial semi-natural media with a temperature of 28 oC and fed with 1 kg media-1 day-1 tubifex worm for three months. The results showed that the compensatory growth of stunted elvers increased two to three times with 100% of survival rate after three months of rearing process. Stunting has a significant effect on treatment B, indicated by the value of weight specific growth rates, RNA : DNA ratio, protein content, blood glucose levels and otolith growth of elvers. This study revealed that the growth performance of stunted elver reared in semi-natural media for four months is better than other treatments.

ABSTRACT PVC trap is used by fisherman in Java Island, southern waters to capture elver, or juvenile eels measuring < 10 gr. The problems are that trap catches too less and elver in injured condition, while buyers need a lot of good elvers for cultivating. This study tried to fix a trap construction so that function more effective and doesn’t hurt elver. All experiments were conducted in the Fishing Gear Laboratory, Bogor Agricultural University. Three sections of traps were examined were the rear cover of trap construction, entrance of trap construction and application two doors of traps. Furthermore, new traps made by three criteria were obtained. The entire test was conducted in the experimental tank containing between 30-100 elvers. The test was done as much as 20-25 times with 20 minutes soaking time. The results showed that more elvers enter the trap which does not seal, the entrance was made from nets and had two doors of the trap. The construction trap based on three criteria was more effective which could trap 355 elvers or 6.12 times more than the fisherman’s trap (58 elvers).Key words: elver, PVC traps, ijep, Java Island, laboratory-------- ABSTRAKBubu paralon digunakan oleh nelayan di perairan selatan Pulau Jawa untuk menangkap juvenil sidat (elver) berukuran < 10 g. Permasalahannya, jumlah tangkapan bubu tersebut sangat sedikit dan elver yang tertangkap sering dalam kondisi terluka, padahal pembeli membutuhkan sangat banyak elver yang sehat untuk dibudidayakan. Penelitian ini mencoba memperbaiki konstruksi bubu agar lebih efektif dan tidak melukai elver. Seluruh penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Bahan dan Alat Penangkap Ikan, Institut Pertanian Bogor. Tiga bagian bubu yang diteliti adalah konstruksi tutupan bagian belakang bubu, konstruksi pintu masuk bubu dan penggunaan dua pintu. Selanjutnya, bubu dibuat berdasarkan ketiga kriteria yang didapatkan. Seluruh pengujian dilakukan di dalam tangki percobaan yang berisi antara 30-100 elver. Pengujian dilakukan sebanyak 20–25 ulangan dengan lama perendaman 20 menit. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa elver lebih banyak masuk ke dalam bubu yang tidak tertutup rapat, pintu masuk terbuat dari jaring dan memiliki 2 pintu. Konstruksi bubu yang dibuat berdasarkan tiga kriteria tersebut dapat memerangkap 355 elver, atau 6,12 kali lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan bubu nelayan (58 elver). Seasonal (April-July) patterns in the decline of length, mass, and condition and an increase in pigmentation stage of American eel (Anguilla rostrata) elvers collected during the estuarine commercial fishery and during entrance into fresh water varied among rivers in the Bay of Fundy and on the Atlantic coast of Nova Scotia. Elver mean length, adjusted to a mean collection date, varied among commercially fished rivers by up to 9%; mean mass varied by up to 27%. Within commercially fished rivers, mean length declined seasonally by 2-5%, mass by 0-60%, and condition by 0-44%. Elver condition declined 7-9% by the time 50% of the run (number of elvers) had entered the East River, Chester, and East River, Sheet Harbour, and by 21% at 95% of the run, while the mean pigmentation stage increased to 4.1-4.8 and 5.7-6.5, respectively, on a scale of 1-7. Such geographic variability in biological traits may result from the effect of varying annual and seasonal environmental conditions on the coastal distribution of elvers and on their run timing and physiological development in estuarine and stream habitats. The biological importance of the seasonal decline in elver length, mass, and condition is uncertain, but a seasonal decline in mass of 35% may be commercially important when elvers are sold by weight rather than count.

This paper relates daily mean seawater temperature and daily rainfall in northern Taiwan to the catches of A. japonica elvers during a two-year period. The results indicate a positive (P<O.05) relationship between rainfall and elver catches and a negative (P<O.05) relationship between seawater temperature and elver catches. Peaks in elver catches generally coincided with peaks in rainfall and minimums of temperature. Rainfall is clearly as important in affecting elver catch as is seawater temperature, which was previously regarded as the key factor.

Instream structures such as dams, weirs and culverts reduce diadromous fish (e.g. freshwater eels) biodiversity and abundance by restricting upstream migrations. Fish passes are used to facilitate fish passage around instream structures, but limited information is available about design aspects that influence the ability of fish to negotiate the structures. We used experimental ramps to evaluate the effects of surface type and slope on the climbing success of shortfin eel (Anguilla australis) elvers (total length <155mm). Climbing success was examined for three surface types (smooth plastic, sand and gravel, Miradrain) at slopes of 30, 50 and 70°. Elver climbing ability differed among substrates, with the highest success observed on the Miradrain surface (a moulded plastic drainage product). Climbing success decreased with increasing ramp slope. The mean length of elvers successfully negotiating the ramps was longer than that of elvers that failed to climb because only larger elvers could climb the Miradrain surface as ramp slope increased. Results indicated that the optimal ramp-designed passage for climbing species would be lined with Miradrain and set at an angle close to 30° and not exceeding 50°. Elver passage will be detrimentally affected by steep surfaces, which will be exacerbated if suboptimal ramp-surface types are used.

Progressive pigmentation of Anguilla rostrata elvers was very similar to that described for A. anguilla. Pigmentation increased rapidly with the advancing season, while total length decreased. The increase in pigmentation was independent of the decrease in length and may have been influenced by increased contact with the substrate. Mean lengths showed significant differences within seasons and between years, and the range of variation was greater than that described by V. D. Vladykov (1966. Verh. Int. Ver. Theor. Angew. Limnol. 16: 1007–1017) for elvers collected from Maryland to Quebec. We substantiate Vladykov's finding that elver size tends to increase with increasing distance from the spawning area, but reject his size/sex hypothesis. The main migration occurred in April and May and was related to decreasing water depth and rising stream temperature. Elvers took about 4 weeks to ascend 180 m above the tidal zone, probably because of a high stream gradient and the absence of tidal influence.

European eel populations have declined markedly in recent decades, caused in part by in-stream barriers, such as weirs and pumping stations, which disrupt the upstream migration of juvenile eels, or elvers, into rivers. Eel passes, narrow sloping channels lined with substrata that enable elvers to ascend, are one way to mitigate against these barriers. Currently, studded eel tiles are a popular substrate. This study is the first to evaluate the flow fields within studded eel tiles and to model the swimming performance of elvers using cellular automata (CA) and individual- (or agent-) based models. Velocities and flow depths predicted by a computational fluid dynamics model of studded eel tiles are first validated against published values for a single installation angle–discharge combination. The validated model is then used to compute three-dimensional flow fields for eel passes at five different installation angles and three inflow discharges. CA and individual-based models are employed to assess upstream passage efficiency for a range of elver sizes. The individual-based model approximates measured passage efficiencies better than the CA model. Passage efficiency is greatest for shallow slopes, low discharges and large elvers. Results are synthesized into an easy-to-understand graphic to help practitioners improve eel pass designs.

This study was performed to detect Aeromonas hydrophila infection in wild and cultured elver eel (Anguilla bicolor). In total, 20 live elvers (10 wild and 10 cultured) were collected and subjected to Aeromonas hydrophila tests. Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was done for an accurate identification of Aeromonas hydrophila using a universal primer and detection of the aerolysin gene in A. hydrophila using a specific primer. The virulence of A. hydrophila was determined using a pathogenicity test injection. The results showed that A. hydrophila could be detected using PCR and amplification of 685bp DNA. A. hydrophila could also be confirmed to contain the aerolysin gene of 290 bp DNA which could be a virulence indicator. Pathogenicity test revealed that LC50 was estimated to be 10.9 x 10 6.33. Histopathological changes were found in the abdominal and wounded muscles. Those changes were mainly in tissue ephitel cell hyperplasia. Based on the present study, A. hydrophila is a virulent bacteria in elver eel. A. hydrophila disease preventive measures need to be formulated. Elver eels should be tested for the A. hydrophila before restocking into farms.

Seasonal and diel patterns of stream invasion by American eels (Anguilla rostrata) were monitored in a small stream located on the north shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence from 1981 to 1985. Glass eels and elvers migrated from the sea in late June and July. Glass eels made up only a small percentage of the migrants. Pigmentation progressed quickly in the estuary, but elvers grew very slowly. Migration from the estuary and through the lower reaches of the stream was slow; no glass eels or elvers occurred at a station located only 4 km from saltwater. Juvenile eels reached that station in their second summer of stream residence. Juvenile eels migrated in July and August. They ranged from 70 to 250 mm in length and included more than one age-class. Those less than 100 mm in length were most numerous. Relative abundance of glass eels and elvers decreased in the estuary from 1981 to 1985. This coincided with a decrease in the proportion of smaller sized eels in the stream migration over the same period. Juvenile eels migrated progressively later in summer as the proportion of smaller sized eels decreased. Stream migration was nocturnal. Movements mainly occurred between 21:00 and 23:00. The relationship between glass eel and elver abundance in the estuary and juvenile eel abundance in the stream 1 and 2 years later was not clear.

ABSTRACT PVC trap is used by fisherman in the southern Java Island waters to capture elver or juvenile eels measuring < 10 gr. One of some problems is how difficult the traps transportation in great quantities. This study tried to design a new trap from spiral little iron material as frame construction. The aim is toward easy tobe shorted so became simple transportation of traps. All experiments were conducted on the Fishing Gear Laboratory, Bogor Agricultural University. The study is divided into two stages, that are design of spiral traps and testing the effectiveness of a spiral trap with two pipe traps, that are elver traps modification (Sururi et al. 2014) and fisherman‘s traps as control. The entire test was conducted in the experimental tank containing between 60 elvers with 20 times repetition. The soaking time were done within 20 minutes of observation each. Spiral traps design giving simpler and easier in transporting traps, because ist weight is 0.24 kg or 3.25 time less weigh than elver traps modification and 2.16 time less weight than fisherman traps. Beside, spiral traps can be shorted to 6 cm, or 8.3 time shorter than elver traps modification and 5 time shorter than fisherman traps. The results showed that spiral traps construction caught 286 individuals or more than elver traps modification (165 individuals) and fishermen’s traps (43 individuals).Keywords: PVC traps, elver, ijep, spiral traps-------ABSTRAKBubu elver digunakan oleh nelayan di perairan selatan Pulau Jawa untuk menangkap elver atau juvenil sidat berukuran < 10 g. Salah satu permasalahannya, pengangkutan bubu dalam jumlah banyak cukup sulit dilakukan. Penelitian ini mencoba merancang bubu dari material kawat besi berbentuk spiral agar bubu dapat dipendekkan sehingga memudahkan dalam pengangkutan-nya. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Bahan dan Alat Penangkapan Ikan, Institut Pertanian Bogor. Kegiatan terdiri atas 2 bagian, yaitu perancangan bubu dan pengujian bubu elver spiral dibandingkan dengan bubu elver modifikasi (Sururi et al. 2014) dan bubu elver milik nelayan sebagai kontrol. Pengujian dilakukan di dalam tangki percobaan yang berisi 60 elver sebanyak 20 ulangan. Lama perendaman bubu 20 menit per ulangan. Bubu elver spiral lebih simpel dan mudah dalam pengangkutannya, karena berat bubu hanya 0,24 kg atau 3,25 kali lebih ringan dari bubu elver modifikasi dan 2,16 kali lebih ringan dari bubu elver standar. Selain itu, bubu elver spiral juga dapat dipendekkan hingga 6 cm, atau 8,3 kali lebih pendek dari bubu elver modifikasi dan 5 kali lebih pendek dari bubu elver standar. På uppdrag av Vätterbygdens Rehabcenter och Högskolan i Skövde har en konceptuell design tagits framför ett elverk som drivs av kroppsenergi och är avsett för bruk i fältmässig miljö. Ett koncept har genererats,valts och utvecklats, varpå dimensionerande beräkningar och materialval för vitala detaljer harskett. Som hjälpmedel för dessa beräkningar har CAD-mjukvaran Pro/Engineer Wildfire 5.0 och dessapplikation Mechanica Structure använts. Andra verktyg har varit användarstudie, framtagande av målspecifikationer,Black Box, morfologisk tabell, Pughs konceptvalsmatris och viktad konceptvalsmatris.Elverket är tänkt att användas i samband med biståndsinsatser i katastrofområden där kontakten medelnätet är bruten och fossila bränslen ej finns att tillgå. I sådana situationer kan elverket vara ett gottkomplement till solceller och små vindkraftverk då elektricitetsgenereringen annars blir beroende avgoda sol- och vindförhållanden.Elverkets funktionsprincip liknar den hos träningsredskapet roddmaskin. Användaren utför en växlandedragande rörelse, fastspänd på en rörlig sits och hållandes ett handtag. En spiralfjäder underlättar återgångentill ursprungsläget. Rörelsen upprepas ca 25 gånger per minut. Från handtaget löper en vajer tillen rulle, vilken är monterad på en drivaxel. Drivaxeln ansluter till en planetväxellåda med ett frihjul sommellansteg. Planetväxellådan växlar upp den genomsnittliga varvfrekvensen 25 gånger, från 60 rotationerper minut till 1500 rotationer per minut, och ett svänghjul tillser att varvfrekvensvariationen är acceptabel.En synkrongenerator med fyra poler drivs av momentet och ström genereras, vilken i sin turfrekvensomriktas till 50 Hz.Enligt J. Carlstedts bok "Tester för idrottare" från 1995 finns en gräns för arbetsbelastning vars överskridandemedför en kraftig acceleration av ökningen av blodets mjölksyrehalt, med snabb utmattningsom följd. Denna gräns kallas för mjölksyratröskeln och är belägen där individens syreupptag når 70-90% av det maximala (VO2max) beroende på träningsgrad. Studien ”Stroke Power Consistency and 2000 mrowing performance in varsity rowers”, utförd 2007 av Shimoda et al., redovisar en syreupptagningsförmågaom VO2max = 4,1 ± 0,4 l/min hos universitetsrorsmän i 20 årsåldern, vilken utnyttjas till fullo vidarbetsbelastningar överskridandes 300 W. Beräkningar har också gjorts angående vilka kuggtal som hos planetväxellådanskugghjul är lämpliga, samt vilket tröghetsmoment svänghjulet bör ha. Ett specifikt sfärisktkullager med klämhylsa, SKF 1206 EKTN9, har valts för lagring av elverkets drivaxel.Vidare har konstruktionsmaterial och dimensioner bestämts för rulle, svänghjul, fotstöd och bärandestruktur samt delar av sitsen, baserat på underlag från analyser i Mechanica Structure. Slutligen har tvåbilder som visar elverkets komponenter och ett förslag för dess utseende renderats.Med en generator som vid 200 W belastning har verkningsgraden η = 0,86 och en växellåda med verkningsgradη = 0,94 återstår 160 W av användarens förväntade effekt innan ännu okända friktionsförlusterdragits av. Elverket kan därför inte konkurrera med bensin- och dieseldrivna elverk vad gäller produceradeffekt. Den största konkurrensfördelen är istället att elektricitet kan produceras oavsett tid på dygnet,väderförhållande eller tillgång till bränsle, så länge tillräcklig arbetskraft finns att tillgå.Åtskilligt arbete återstår innan en prototyp av elverket kan börja tillverkas. Det rekommenderas att defrån användarstudien framtagna kundkraven och satta målspecifikationerna också nyttjas vid eventuelltfortsatt arbete.
A conceptual design for a generating set, driven by muscle power and intended for use in a field-rateenvironment, has been developed at the request of the rehabilitation-center of Vätterbygden and Universityof Skövde. A concept has been generated and chosen, and dimensioning calculations and choice ofmaterials for vital parts has been performed, partly using the CAD-software Pro/Engineer Wildfire 5.0and its application Mechanica Structure. Other tools used in the process include identification of customerneeds, generation of target specifications, Black box, Morphological tables, Pugh’s matrix for choiceof concepts and weighted matrix for choice of concepts.The generating set's purpose is to be used in emergency relief activities when the local power grid isdown and there are no fossil fuels at hand. In such situations the generating set may be seen as a powerfulcompliment to solar and wind power, since it makes the power supply independent of wind and solarconditions.The operating principle of the generating set is partly that of a rowing ergometer. The user applies analternating pull, belted to a mobile seat and holding a handle-bar. The users return to start position iseased by a spiral spring. This motion is repeated about 25 times each minute. A steel wire rope runs fromthe handle to a reel which in turn is mounted on a driveshaft. The driveshaft is through a free-wheel connectedto a planetary gearbox, shifting the average rotational speed from 60 rotations per minute to1500. A flywheel decreases the variation in rotational speed, before a synchronous generator with fourpoles is driven by the remaining torque. The frequency of the generated power is lastly adjusted to 50 Hzusing a frequency converter.According to the 1995 J. Carlstedt book "Tester för idrottare", the lactic acid threshold limits the workloada person can endure without rapid fatigue. This limit is exceeded when the oxygen absorption of theindividual hits 70-90 % of capacity (VO2max), depending on the level of fitness. The study ”Stroke PowerConsistency and 2000 m rowing performance in varsity rowers”, conducted by Shimoda et al. in 2007,concludes that varsity rowers can achieve a maximum oxygen absorption of VO2max = 4,1 ± 0,4 l/min at arowing workload of 300 Watts. Based on the workload in this study corresponding to 70 % of VO2maxbeing 200 Watts, this magnitude of power was judged as the endurable workload a user of the generatingset could be expected to supply.The required diameter of the steel wire rope and dimensions for the wire reel has been settled. The appropriatenumber of teeth for the planetary gearbox’s cog-wheels has been calculated, as well as themoment of inertia for the flywheel. A specific self-aligning ball-bearing with an adapter sleeve, SKF 1206EKTN9, has been chosen for use at the driveshaft of the generating set. Furthermore, materials and dimensionshave been determined for the wire reel, the flywheel, footrests, load-bearing structure and partsof the seat through the use of analyses in Mechanica Structure. Lastly, two images showing the functionand parts of the generating set have been rendered.With a degree of efficiency when operating at a 200 W workload of η = 0.86 for the generator and η =0.94 for the planetary gearbox, 160 W remains before any currently unknown frictional losses has beensubtracted. Hence, this generating set is unable to compete with generating sets driven by diesel andgasoline in regard of capacity. The main advantage of the generating set is instead the ability to generatepower regardless of time of day, weather-conditions or fuel-access, as long as there’s an individualavailable for powering it.The development of the generating set is still very much a work in progress. It is recommended that theidentified customer needs and set target specifications are continuously regarded during possible proceededdevelopment.

Im März 2011 ist dem Stadtgeschichtlichen Museum Leipzig eine der wohl größten Privatsammlungen zu Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy übergeben worden – die Sammlung des ehemaligen Leiters der Musikabteilung der Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin Dr. Rudolf Elvers. Der 1924 geborene und in Berlin lebende Musikwissenschaftler war ein leidenschaftlicher und talentierter Sammler; er hat über Jahrzehnte hinweg als Privatmensch rund 480 Bücher, 500 Notendrucke und etwa 380 Autographen von und zu Mendelssohn systematisch und mit großem Geschick zusammengetragen. Dass dieser Bestand nun in Leipzig ist, darf als Glücksfall für die Musikstadt gesehen werden.

Syftet med vårt examensarbete var att ta reda på hur ett processinriktat arbetssätt utvecklar elevens lärande och vad olika kunskapsbegrepp innebär för elevens kunskapsutveckling. Vi ville undersöka hur det processinriktade arbetssätet tillämpas i slöjden kontra ett mer teoretisk uppfattat ämne för att kunna se om där fanns någon skillnad i arbetssätt. Vi har valt i vår undersökning att använd oss av slöjden som utgångspunkt för att se hur slöjden med sitt processinriktade arbetssätt, slöjdprocessen, kan bidra till diskussionen om vad viktig kunskap är idag. Metoder som har använts i vår studie är litteraturstudier och enkätundersökningar där vi vänt oss till lärare i ämnena slöjd och svenska i grundskolans senare del och elever i åk 8 och åk 9 för att se vilka skillnader som finns i synen på hur det processinriktade arbetssättet används i olika undervisningssammanhang. De resultat som vi fick fram visade att det skiljde sig mellan hur det processinriktade arbetssättet används i slöjd och i ämnet svenska. De visade sig att lärarna i slöjden i större utsträckning använde sig av formativ bedömning där man såg till hela lärandeprocessen medan lärarna i ämnet svenska använde sig av den summativa bedömningen, där fokusen mer låg på det färdiga resultatet. Resultaten från elevenkäterna visade på samma resultat. Eleverna menade att man i större utsträckning fick möjlighet till inflytande, ansvarstagande och reflektion i ämnet slöjd än vad man ansåg sig få i ämnet svenska. Däremot var lärarkommentarer efter avslutat arbete vanligare i ämnet svenska än i ämnet slöjd, vilket belyser den summativa bedömningens inriktning. Det som också våra resultat visade är att det processinriktade arbetssättet ökar elevens ansvarstagande över det egna lärandet och där den formativa bedömningen som lärarna gör är en viktig del i elevens kunskapsutveckling, där läraren följer hela elevens lärandeprocess, från idé till färdig produkt. Av analysen framgår att det processinriktade arbetssättet förutsätter ett nära samspel mellan lärare och elev, där en kontinuerlig återkoppling sker av elevens kunskap. Genom det processinriktade arbetssättet får eleven en större tilltro till sin egen förmåga och en självinsikt över sitt eget lärande.

Anguilla australis glass eels proved to be resilient and present strong aquaculture potential. General husbandry techniques, anaesthesia and prophylactic treatments were established for glass eels between 0.1 g and 2.0 g and elvers between 2.0 g and 8.0 g, caught in rivers and estuaries along the South East Coast of Victoria. The protozoan parasites Ichthyobodo and Trichodina were found to be present on arrival to the hatchery developed during different rearing treatments, and were successfully eradicated. A. australis glass eels accepted artificial food, but it was recommended first be fed a preweaning diet of minced fish flesh. A weaning regime from minced fish flesh to commercially available eel grower mash, over 15 days was established. Growth rate proved to be highly variable, both between and within groups. The highest growth rate of 2.71%/day was found when the natural diet of minced fish and Artemia was fed. The maximum growth rate when reared on an artificial diet of 1.63%/day was observed at 25°C. Growth was affected by the presence or absence of a preweaning diet, weaning diet, weaning period, temperature, but not by size or density. Once weaned, glass eels were found to perform better on commercially available grower mash than on the minced fish flesh, which was used to aid in weaning them to artificial diets. Of the water quality parameters measured stocking density was found to affect pH, Total Ammonia Nitrogen, Total Phosphorus, and Dissolved Oxygen, through not to an extent which affected growth.

I denne oppgaven har det blitt utført kartlegging av innhold av elementer og oppløst organisk karbon (DOC) i elvevann og skum i Bayelva og Londonelva, to arktiske elver med utløp i Kongsfjorden på Svalbard. Andre viktige parametere som pH, redokspotensiale, ledningsevne og temperatur har også blitt målt. Filtrerte (0,45 µm) og ufiltrerte vannprøver har blitt prøvetatt manuelt, samt med DGT (diffusjonsgradienter i tynne filmer), og analysert med HR-ICP-MS. Det ble funnet generelt lave konsentrasjoner av oppløste sporelementer i elvevannet i både Bayelva og Londonelva, og konsentrasjonene var under grenseverdier fra norske myndigheter for metaller i ferskvann. Det er forskjeller på elementkonsentrasjoner innad i elvene, og innholdet er høyere for de aller fleste elementer i Bayelva sammenliknet med Londonelva. Forskjellene i konsentrasjoner i de to elvene kan forklares av ulik geologi og hydrologi i de to nedbørsfeltene. DGT-ene ser ut til å ha blitt kontaminert. Innhold av oppløst organisk materiale er lavt, men detekterbart i begge elver. SUVA254 indikerer at det organiske materialet har hovedsaklig aromatisk karakter. Estimat for årlig tilførsel av oppløste metaller til Kongsfjorden har blitt regnet ut. Skumprøver inneholdt betydelige konsentrasjoner av DOC og elementer, og en oppkonsentrering av metaller i forhold til elvevannet er tydelig i både Bayelva og Londonelva. Høyest oppkonsentrering ble funnet for Pb, Zn og Cu. Signifikante positive korrelasjoner ble funnet mellom Fe og Mn og Fe og Al i vannprøver fra Bayelva, samt mellom Fe og Pb i to av prøvepunktene. I Londonelva ble det funnet signifikant positiv korrelasjon mellom Fe og Pb, i tillegg til en negativ relasjon mellom Al og As. Korrelasjoner mellom metaller er en indikasjon på at disse metallene har felles kilde og/eller transportmekanismer. Tydelige signifikante positive korrelasjoner ble funnet for Mn, Cu og Pb mot DOC i vannprøver fra Londonelva, og for Mn, As, U og hardhet mot DOC i skumprøver fra Bayelva. Det ble funnet dagsvariasjoner i elementkonsentrasjoner og ulike måleparametere i de to elvene, men variasjonene er mindre tydelig i Londonelva. Detta examensarbetet handlar om hur elever äter vid frukost och skollunch och vad följder blir om de inte äter ordentligt vid dessa måltider. Syftet med arbetet är att se om frukost och skollunch har någon betydelse för hur elever presterar i grundskolan.

Genom enkätundersökningar har 84 elever svarat på frågor som bl a berör vad de äter. Den teoretiska delen tar bl a upp vad vi behöver för att orka, frukostens och skollunchens betydelse och orsaker till att elever äter dåligt vid frukost och lunch.

Resultatet av denna undersökning visar, liksom tidigare forskning, att det är viktigt att äta frukost och skollunch om eleverna ska orka med skolarbetet, d v s kunna koncentrera sig, vara kreativ och inte tappa humöret.

Diskussionen tar bl a upp kommentarer till enkätundersökningen och skolfrukostens intåg i skolan.

Glass eels of the European eel migrate from coastal waters inland to freshwater as part of the catadromous lifecycle. The osmotic challenge faced at this time is augmented by their large surface area to volume ratio, and by the fact that the migration may only be completed after several attempts, due to the effects of tide and river flow. Glass eels and elvers developed normally when maintained in waters of differing salinity over a six month period. Drinking rates increased with environmental acclimation salinity (from 0.072 +/- 0.023 mul/g/h to 0.698 +/- 0.099 mul/g/h in FW and SW respectively), and freshwater acclimated fish exhibited a rapid drinking response upon contact with seawater. These accounts of dipsogenic behaviour are similar to those previously reported for adult eels. Results obtained from determinations of branchial Na+K+ATPase activities were more equivocal. Only after nearly five months were activities higher in SW (508.52 +/- 99.76 nmoles/Spairs gills/h) as compared to FW fish (151.65 +/- 8.9 nmoles/5pairs gills/h). Following the transfer of FW acclimated fish to SW there was a trend towards increased Na+K+ATPase activity after seven days post-transfer, which reached a significant peak after two months post-transfer. A transient increase in whole body cortisol content was noted following the transfer of fish from freshwater (388.02 + 90.38 pg/g) to seawater (6268.44 +/- 773.14 pg/g). However, it was not possible to ascertain that this was due to a direct effect of environmental salinity change. There were no clear changes in interrenal cell morphology between salinity groups, although the cells did appear reduced in size with time, regardless of environmental salinity. Total body Na+ content increased with time, and was higher in SW (58.66 +/- 1.66 mumoles/g) as compared to FW reared fish (44.85 +/-1.01 mumoles/g).

Jelen tanulmány célja, hogy a controlling tekintetében zajló hazai tudományos diskurzust kiegészítse a start-up controlling témakörrel. Az alapvetően elméleti- szakirodalmi bázison íródott cikk áttekintést nyújt a fiatal és gyorsan növekvő ún. start-up vállalkozások világában alkalmazható menedzsment kontroll elvekről, módszerekről, illetve azokról az elsősorban Európában lefolytatott empirikus kutatásokról, amelyek a hazai kutatók számára inspirációt jelenthetnek e specifikus belső energiaszinttel és üzleti kihívásokkal bíró vállalkozói ökoszisztémát érintő kutatások indítására. A tanulmányban az alábbi kutatási kérdésekre keressük a választ: Mely start-up vállalkozási jellemzők igénylik/indokolják a sajátos menedzsment kontroll elvek alkalmazását? Milyen formális és informális mechanizmusok alkothatják együttesen a start-up vállalkozások menedzsment kontroll rendszerét? Hogyan tematizálhatóak a start-up controlling szférát érintő, ezredfordulót követő kutatások Európában? Hogyan kapcsolódik a zöld controlling a fenntartható start-up-ok működéséhez?

Buda, Pest és Óbuda – ugyan koronként változó mértékű – önállósággal, de választott testületeik (tanácsaik) irányításával maguk intézték helyi közügyeiket, amelyeknek egyik lényeges része volt a rendészeti feladatok ellátása. A városegyesítés közeledtével az a kérdés is napirendre került az országgyűlésen, hogy a létrejövő Budapesten miként szervezzék meg a rendőrséget. A korábbihoz hasonlóan működjön tovább, de már a főváros irányítása alatt – kockáztatva így a három eltérő karakterű város(rész) helyzetéből és lehetőségeiből eredő konfliktusokat –, vagy az egész szerv kerüljön inkább állami kezelésbe. Nem egyszerűen szervezeti és finanszírozási kérdéseket kellett megvitatniuk a politikusoknak, mert már az elvek tekintetében is jelentős nézetkülönbségek kerültek elő. A következő írás bemutatja a fővárosi rendőrség létrehozásával kapcsolatos vitákat, amelyek jól érzékeltetik, hogy milyen horderejű kérdés megoldásában kellett a honatyáknak konszenzusra jutniuk.

Los nucleopoliedrovirus (NPV) son patógenos de insectos empleados a nivel mundial para el control de diferentes plagas (Barreto et al. 2005). Con un aislamiento nativo de este virus se desarrolló un bioplaguicida para el control del gusano cogollero Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E Smith) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), la plaga más importante del cultivo de maíz (Barón y Angulo 2003). Los NPVs son patógenos obligados y su producción masiva se realiza infectando larvas del insecto hospedero, las cuales son alimentadas con una dieta semisintética que aumenta considerablemente los costos de producción del bioplaguicida (Elvira et al., 2010). Con miras a hacer más competitivo el proceso de manufactura del insecticida viral, el presente trabajo pretendió seleccionar una dieta modificada a partir de la dieta estándar actualmente empleada, reduciendo sus costos de elaboración y determinando su efecto sobre el desarrollo larval y la productividad viral.

Minden szuverén állam a belső jogában önállóan határozhatja meg az állampolgári jogokat és kötelezettségeket, éppen ezért nincs egységes álláspont arra nézve, hogy jogi értelembe mely jogok és kötelezettségek alkotják az állampolgárságot. Ugyan vannak nemzetközi és európai ügyek (lsd. Nottebohm-ügy, Rottmann-ügy, Tjebbes-ügy, Micheletti-ügy), melyek bár kiemelnek bizonyos elvi tételeket, mely tételeket és joggyakorlatot az államoknak figyelembe kellene venniük, azonban ez a jogkövető magatartás nem mindig érvényesül. Az1960-as évek végétől Csehszlovákiában több törvény is rendelkezett a szlovák, a cseh és a szövetségi állam állampolgárságának megszerzéséről és elvesztéséről. A magyar kedvezményes honosítás ellenreakciójaként értelmezhető a szlovák kormánynak a szlovák állampolgárságról szóló törvény alkotmányt sértő, szigorú jellegű módosítása, amely ahhoz vezetett, hogy 2022. decemberéig több mint 4300 ember veszítette el szlovák állampolgárságát. A szlovák Parlament tavaly fogadta el az állampolgársági törvény ismételt módosítását, mely a megfosztott szlovákiai magyarok többségének helyzetén mit sem javított. Felmerül tehát a kérdés, hogy az Európai Unióhoz csatlakozott Szlovákia állampolgársági törvény módosításai megfelelnek-e az európai uniós és a nemzetközi jogi normáknak? Vagy hogy megvalósul-e Szlovákiában az egyenlő elbánás elve az állampolgárság vonatkozásában? Meglátásom szerint ezek mind-mind olyan érdekfeszítő és releváns kérdések, amelyek nagymértékben meghatározzák és rányomják bélyegét a mai társadalmunkra.
