Common crime prevention measures have not yielded the expected results. It is important to examine the possibilities of using the latest achievements in crime prevention. One of the available options is digitalization. Starting from the definition of digitalization as the use of digital technologies to change the business model and provide new opportunities for generating income and value, the author emphasizes that digitalization can be used as a measure to prevent crime. In this regard, some solutions for preventing crime through digitalization are embodied in the use of digital currencies, digital identities and signatures, smart devices, and mobile applications. The author elaborates on each of these solutions, focusing on specific crime prevention measures and examples from different countries worldwide. It may help crime prevention experts perceive digitalization as a measure for reducing the volume of crime. If the benefits of digitalization are put into good use, we can expect that the volume of property-related crimes, violence-related crimes and traffic delinquency will drop in the forthcoming period. On the other hand, the implementation of these measures may give rise to the commission of Internet-related crimes, thus leading to the increase in computer crime.

Construction is a sector characterized by a high likelihood of accidents, among the factors that have the potential to reduce such accidents, the design stage is important to reduce risks in the life cycle of the enterprise. The need to reduce risks on the construction site early and proactively has fostered the development of digital tools for designs. This study aimed to conduct a systematic review of the literature on the development and application of digital tools capable of identifying security risks in designs and examine them to point out their characteristics and limitations. The review of the literature was based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement. The research showed that although the use of digital tools has great potential for impact on risk mitigation in the design stage, they are still little used and have not reached their maximum potential. In addition, this systematic review indicates possibilities of use, which include the automation of risk verification and provision of security measures, as well as limitations, as the absence of consideration of the dynamism of the work in digital tools. Therefore, the present work presents a basis to help structure future applied research in the area.

Abstract Although during the past few years the scopes of shadow economy in Lithuania have slightly decreased, different forms of this phenomenon, in particular digital shadow activities, still generate a significant part of the overall value added. As no constant estimations of the scope of digital shadow economy have been made in Lithuania, alleviation of this problem is based on consequence fighting rather than reason elimination. Digital shadow economy poses a significant challenge for law enforcement agencies concerning its investigation and prevention. Hence, it is purposeful to research both theoretical and practical aspects of digital shadow economy prevention in order to identify the measures that could be used for the efficient reduction of the scope of this phenomenon. The aim of this research is to identify the measures of digital shadow economy prevention and compare the attitudes of governmental institutions and consumers towards the efficiency of these measures. The results of the empirical research showed that both consumers and experts agree that the level of tax morale has to be raised not only by using the measures of self-education but also by introducing long-term educational programmes; second, public authorities should ensure business friendly environment, actively implement the principles of justice and officially acknowledge and announce the concept of digital shadow economy; finally, for more efficient detection of the cases of digital shadow activities, it is necessary to reinforce current labour resources that should be specially trained to be able to disclose revenue hiding and tax evasion schemes, employed in e-trade.

Sexual violence in universities represents an iceberg phenomenon. The Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education has identified sexual violence as one of the most serious issues facing higher education. In response, the ministry enacted a regulation to address the prevention and handling of sexual violence (PHSV) within universities. While there is extensive research on the implementation of this regulation, as well as on the controversies surrounding it and the handling of sexual violence cases in universities, limited studies have explored the association between the prevention and management of such cases and the digital literacy levels among university community members. On the other hand, socialization and prevention programs related to sexual violence are mostly conducted through digital media platforms. This study employed qualitative research methods to assess the digital literacy levels of university community members in relation to PHSV. Initial data was collected through questionnaires, focus group discussions, and documentation of informants. The findings highlight that preventing and addressing sexual violence cannot be effectively achieved solely by disseminating PHSV information via digital media. These efforts must be supported by initiatives to enhance digital literacy across university communities. This research provides valuable insights into the intersection of digital literacy and gender-based violence prevention, particularly in academic settings. Methodologically, the study demonstrates the adequacy of the qualitative approaches in comprehensively exploring and describing this phenomenon. Moreover, the study contributes to the broader academic discourse by illustrating how social and digital media shape perceptions of sexual violence and play a critical role in raising awareness.

The article deals with the problem of preventing the deformation of legal consciousness in the conditions of digitalization of education in modern society. The purpose of the work is to analyze the influence of the digital environment on the formation, change, prevention of deformation of the legal consciousness of students and to determine the possibility of using the digital environment in order to prevent deformation of the legal consciousness of students, its modeling, correction, and the need to introduce digital tools into educational organizations to achieve this goal. The article touches upon the main factors that traditional influence of formation and prevention of the deformation of legal consciousness and the role of the digital environment in this matter. In this paper, using analysis and synthesis as the main research methods, studies concerning digital and legal literacy of citizens of the Russian Federation are analyzed. Taking into account the analysis, recommendations are given on the formation of legal awareness and pedagogical prevention of its deformation among students in the conditions of digitalization of society, as well as the need to introduce into the digital environment of an educational organization teaching and upbringing methods aimed at the formation of legal awareness of citizens, their civil position that meets the requirements of the formation of the rule of law and ensuring the development of civil society. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the fact that Russian scientists investigated the issues of legal awareness, prevention of its deformation and digitalization of education, but as independent issues in various branches of sciences: jurisprudence, psychology, pedagogy, sociology, philosophy, etc. In this study, these issues are considered in interrelation and interdependence. As a result of the study, it was found that the digital environment affects the deformation of the legal consciousness of the student and can be used to ensure the prevention of distortion of the perception of legal reality in the educational process. The author offers definitions of such concepts in pedagogical science as: "legal consciousness", "deformation of legal consciousness", "pedagogical prevention of deformation of legal consciousness".

Background Digital technologies are increasingly integrating into people’s daily living environments such as schools, sport clubs, and health care facilities. These settings play a crucial role for health promotion and prevention because they affect the health of their members, as the World Health Organization has declared. Implementing digital health promotion and prevention in settings offers the opportunity to reach specific target groups, lower the costs of implementation, and improve the health of the population. Currently, there is a lack of scientific evidence that reviews the research on digital health promotion and prevention in settings. Objective This scoping review aims to provide an overview of research targeting digital health promotion and primary prevention in settings. It assesses the range of scientific literature regarding outcomes such as applied technology, targeted setting, and area of health promotion or prevention, as well as identifies research gaps. Methods The scoping review was conducted following the Levac, Colquhoun, and O'Brien framework. We searched scientific databases and gray literature for articles on digital setting–based health promotion and prevention published from 2010 to January 2020. We included empirical and nonempirical publications in English or German and excluded secondary or tertiary prevention and health promotion at the workplace. Results From 8888 records, the search resulted in 200 (2.25%) included publications. We identified a huge diversity of literature regarding digital setting–based health promotion and prevention. The variety of technology types extends from computer- and web-based programs to mobile devices (eg, smartphone apps) and telemonitoring devices (sensors). We found analog, digital, and blended settings in which digital health promotion and prevention takes place. The most frequent analog settings were schools (39/200, 19.5%) and neighborhoods or communities (24/200, 12%). Social media apps were also included because in some studies they were defined as a (digital) setting. They accounted for 31.5% (63/200) of the identified settings. The most commonly focused areas of health promotion and prevention were physical activity (81/200, 40.5%), nutrition (45/200, 22.5%), and sexual health (34/200, 17%). Most of the interventions combined several health promotion or prevention methods, including environmental change; providing information, social support, training, or incentives; and monitoring. Finally, we found that the articles mostly reported on behavioral rather than structural health promotion and prevention. Conclusions The research field of digital health promotion and prevention in settings is heterogeneous. At the same time, we identified research gaps regarding the absence of valid definitions of relevant terms (eg, digital settings) and the lack of literature on structural health promotion and prevention in settings. Therefore, it remains unclear how digital technologies can contribute to structural (or organizational) changes in settings. More research is needed to successfully implement digital technologies to achieve health promotion and prevention in settings.

Objective. To determine the criteria for the application of preventive measures for individual computer program «Medical and psychological prevention of complications, and the normalization of physiological parameters in a hypertensive patient».Design and methods. With the financial support of the Government of the Russian Federation, the State contract № 6464r/9021 of 28.12.2008, we have developed and registered in the Federal Institute of Industrial Property preventive medical computer program «Medical and psychological prevention of complications, and the normalization of physiological parameters in a hypertensive patient» № 2011618469, state registration number 01200951860. We examined 180 patients (120 hypertensives and 60 controls) aged 20–70 years (mean age 35,5 ± 7,2 years), patients of the main group had a primary diagnosis of hypertension (I, II, III degree). We performed clinical neurological, standard laboratory and instrumental diagnostic examinations and psychodiagnostic testing, as well as the pulse measurements by cardiointervalography followed by mathematical analysis of the data by a special program.Results. Analysis of reactions in the interim period of adaptation (14–21 day) has shown its important role to predict the outcome of preventive measures. According to our data 88,2 % patients with hypertension III degree and 94,4 % patients with hypertension II degree demonstrated normalization of the blood pressure and improvement in general state, and the approach was beneficial in 100 % patients with hypertension I degree. Mean recovery time after hypertensive crisis was 15,0 ± 5,0 minutes in patients with hypertension I degree, 30,0 ± 10,0 minutes in patients with hypertension II degree (p < 0,001), and 45,1 ± 27,4 minutes in patients with III degree (p < 0,05). Patients, who used personal computer software, demonstrated the reduction of irritability, fatigue, improved sleep, memory, increased work effiiency, disappearance of sleepiness, and there was an increase in self-confidence.Conclusions. Thus, our results show that the use of individual computer program «B/P rate» leads to the reduction of the frequency and duration of hypertensive crises, as well as to the improvement of cognitive function and psychosocial parameters.

This scientific work is a continuation of a previously published scientific article: if the first part of the study revealed the concept and criminological characteristics of digital crime, then the second part of the work is devoted more to the prevention of digital crime. The analysis of such a concept as a crime committed using information (digital) technologies shows that in the scientific literature there are different points of view regarding the content of this concept, however, each of the definitions is more or less based on the norms of current legislation in the field of information. The key purpose of this scientific research and the tasks arising from this goal are formulated as the disclosure of the definition of digital crime, the description of its types and the presentation of common positions on the issue of digital crime prevention. The research methodology is based on the use of general scientific and private scientific methods of cognition, in particular, the method of induction, deduction, generalization, analysis, research of official information sources, the method of expert assessments, etc. The resolution of the issue of the pre-vention of such crimes is of the greatest practical importance. The largest amount of authority in the fight against digital crimes is vested in specialized subjects of the prevention of digital crimes. However, only all actors together can ensure the systematic implementation of all prevention measures. In the fight against digital crimes, the subjects of prevention must act together and build an effective mechanism for interaction and exchange of necessary information. Countering the crimes in question includes a full range of operational and technical, search, operational and investigative measures, including explanatory and preventive means of general and individual prevention of offenses, which are provided for by current legislation.

Background Mobile phone–based digital interventions have been shown to be a promising strategy for HIV prevention among men who have sex with men (MSM). Objective This study aimed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of a mobile phone–based digital intervention for HIV prevention among MSM in China from the perspective of a public health provider. Methods The cost-effectiveness of the mobile phone–based digital intervention was estimated for a hypothetical cohort of 10,000 HIV-negative MSM who were followed for 1 year. A model was developed with China-specific data to project the clinical impact and cost-effectiveness of two mobile phone–based digital strategies for HIV prevention among MSM. The intervention group received an integrated behavioral intervention that included 1) individualized HIV infection risk assessment, 2) recommendation of centers testing for HIV and other STIs, 3) free online order of condoms and HIV and syphilis self-test kits and 4) educational materials about HIV/AIDS. The control group was only given educational materials about HIV/AIDS. Outcomes of interest were the number of HIV infections among MSM averted by the intervention, intervention costs, cost per HIV infection averted by the mobile phone–based digital intervention, and quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs). Univariate and multivariate sensitivity analyses were also conducted to examine the robustness of the results. Results It is estimated that the intervention can prevent 48 MSM from becoming infected with HIV and can save 480 QALYs. The cost of preventing 1 case of HIV infection was US $2599.87, and the cost-utility ratio was less than 0. Sensitivity analysis showed that the cost-effectiveness of the mobile phone–based digital intervention was mainly impacted by the average number of sexual behaviors with each sexual partner. Additionally, the higher the HIV prevalence among MSM, the greater the benefit of the intervention. Conclusions Mobile phone–based digital interventions are a cost-effective HIV-prevention strategy for MSM and could be considered for promotion and application among high-risk MSM subgroups.

Background Digital diabetes prevention programs (digital-DPPs) are being implemented as population-based approaches to type 2 diabetes mellitus prevention in several countries to address problems with the uptake of traditional face-to-face diabetes prevention programs. However, assessments of digital-DPPs have largely focused on clinical outcomes and usability among those who have taken them up, whereas crucial information on decision-making about uptake (eg, whether a user downloads and registers on an app) and engagement (eg, the extent of use of an app or its components over time) is limited. Greater understanding of factors that influence uptake and engagement decisions may support large-scale deployments of digital-DPPs in real-world settings. Objective This study aimed to explore the key influences on uptake and engagement decisions of individuals who were offered the National Health Service Healthier You: Digital Diabetes Prevention Programme (NHS-digital-DPP). Methods A qualitative interview study was conducted using semistructured interviews. Participants were adults, aged ≥18 years, diagnosed with nondiabetic hyperglycemia, and those who had been offered the NHS-digital-DPP. Recruitment was conducted via 4 providers of the NHS-digital-DPP and 3 primary care practices in England. Interviews were conducted remotely and were guided by a theoretically informed topic guide. Analysis of interviews was conducted using an inductive thematic analysis approach. Results Interviews were conducted with 32 participants who had either accepted or declined the NHS-digital-DPP. In total, 7 overarching themes were identified as important factors in both decisions to take up and to engage with the NHS-digital-DPP. These were knowledge and understanding, referral process, self-efficacy, self-identity, motivation and support, advantages of digital service, and reflexive monitoring. Perceptions of accessibility and convenience of the NHS-digital-DPP were particularly important for uptake, and barriers in terms of the referral process and health care professionals’ engagement were reported. Specific digital features including health coaches and monitoring tools were important for engagement. Conclusions This study adds to the literature on factors that influence the uptake of and engagement with digital-DPPs and suggests that digital-DPPs can overcome many barriers to the uptake of face-to-face diabetes prevention programs in supporting lifestyle changes aimed at diabetes prevention.
