3 Abstract This thesis covers conifers (Pinopsida) and their use in teaching natural science in primary schools and biology in secondary schools. The aim is to analyze the problems of conifers (Pinopsida) at FEP (Framework Education Programme) for basic education and in selected textbooks, to determine the level of teaching conifers (Pinopsida) in primary schools and secondary schools in the Benešov region and propose a project with the theme of conifers (Pinopsida) for primary and secondary schools, with partial verification in the classroom. The theoretical part is concerned with conifers (Pinopsida) from a biological point of view. Characterize a group of conifers (Pinopsida), it's representatives in the Czech Republic and also deal with the ecology of conifers (Pinopsida). In the research part, using text and tables I mention results of analysis of FEP for basic education and analysis of textbooks. Later in the form of tables and graphs I mention the results of research on teaching conifers (Pinopsida) in primary and secondary schools in the Benešov region. Research was conducted using the questionnaire. Finally, I present the proposed project: The scent of resin partially verified in primary school. This work is intended for all who are interested in the conifers (Pinopsida) from the didactic point of view.

This diploma thesis aims to gather information about learning styles and opportunities for using comic when teaching science/biology. 253 teachers from all around the Czech Republic filled out a form which shows their experience, suggestions and arguments for and against using comic to teach Natural History. The respondents also answered questions about their approach to visual learners in class. The results show that science and biology teachers would be interested in getting and using some worksheets including comic in their lessons. Teachers would like to use comic mainly in the fields of Evolutionary biology, Ecology and for the topic of Photosynthesis. The creative part of this thesis works with the results of the questionnaire and presents four educational comics based on the most popular topics teachers chose. Each worksheet includes a teacher's manual and recommendations.

The diploma thesis deals with the comparison of two selected concepts of science teaching at primary school. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the classification of science as an educational field, explains the possible concepts of its teaching and compares the advantages and disadvantages of two selected variants with reference to the fulfilment of educational goals and respect for didactic principles of science teaching. The available materials suitable for teaching, the degree of their use and the comparison of teaching methods depending on the success in scientific testing are also outlined. The practical part of the work brings a comparison of the results of a questionnaire survey between individual groups of ecologically and science-taught pupils. Individual tasks and questions were created on the basis of established hypotheses. The results of the research bring a comparison of the knowledge and skills area, but also the area of students' attitude towards the subject. The established hypothesis was confirmed partially, the attitude section brings in results to the research questions. The present Master's thesis is concerned with the issue of implementation health education as a part of school subject called Biology at a chosen primary and secondary school. The aim of the thesis is to verify the functionality of curriculum implementation at the chosen school and also to propose a right model of implementation health education as a part of Biology easily applicable from own teaching experience. The thesis is divided into three parts. In this diploma paper there is a set of biological didactic games for natural science at primary school. The games are divided into four sections - botanical games, zoological games and some topics of human biology, mineralogy and geology. According to the possibilities of their usage in the education they are divided into three groups again. We call them revision games, which are useful to revision and fix curriculum, and knowing games for gaining new knowledge and finally motivational games to interest the students. The diploma thesis deals with droplet infections and finds out what knowledge, attitudes and behavior pupils of the lower secondary school have towards them. The theoretical part focuses on educational documents in the Czech Republic, including the occurrence of topics about droplet infections in RVP ZV, didactic game as a teaching method and a detail description of selected viral and bacterial droplet infections. In the practical part, the diploma thesis finds out what knowledge, attitudes and behavior students have about droplet infections. Subsequently, a didactic game is performed and the effectiveness of the didactic game is evaluated by comparing the pre-test and the post-test on the basis of changes in the knowledge, attitudes and declared behavior of the interviewed pupils. The results showed that due to the didactic game there was an improvement in the students knowledge and a desired change of attitudes. The declared behavior of students remained unchanged, as the entry level of students in this area was already at a high level.

The presented diploma thesis has an educational character and tries to find a way how to teach geology more attractive at primary schools. It includes authorial proposals for field trip routes and school experiments that can be implemented in lessons or within other educational school activity during school year. The field trips are built to be carried out in the geological park of Bohemian Paradise because of its natural wealth giving many possibilities to be used in teaching geology and other related fields of natural sciences. This thesis deals with the knowledge testing of the natural history at pupils in 9th classes of primary and lower secondary schools by means of the didactic test which was created by students of Masaryk´s University in Brno (Kokošínská, Slavíčková) in 2009. Output knowledge of natural history was tested with 302 students (156 boys and 146 girls) in South Bohemia region (České Budějovice, Tábor, Soběslav). The comparison of the knowledge of the natural history was carried out at primary school leavers a graduates of lower secondary school cycle. The respondents from secondary school showed better knowledge than pupils of the natural history of the 9th classes of the primary school. The pupils achieve the highest knowledge in the field of human biology, the lowest one in the field of inanimate nature. The results of the thesis were compared with the results of the survey in primary and lower secondary schools in Brno (2009) and Central Bohemia Region (2009, 2011). The results were in all tested regions comparable and a statistically significant difference was not proved.

This diploma thesis is focused on the didactic use of woody plants in teaching at the secondary level of elementary schools and in the corresponding years of grammar schools. The purpose is to appropriately use trees and other woody plants that are close to schools and are available for teaching. The theoretical part deals with basic curricular documents, methods of teaching possibly used in science or biology that have been briefly characterized, and the representation of the topic of woody plants and their method of processing in commonly available textbooks. The following chapter provides a description of the woody plants used in the process of making of the practical materials. The research of the thesis includes a questionnaire survey done among teachers of science or biology at chosen elementary and grammar schools in Pilsen and surrounding towns. The research investigated the teaching methods and the actual use of woody plants in lessons and was evaluated afterwards. Based on the survey, a motivational teaching material was created and it was verified in practice with pupils of a specific grammar school. Main aim of this master thesis is to map the situation of parasitism teaching in elementary and grammar schools. Thats why it contains analysis of reachable elementary and grammar school textbooks - it informs about various kinds of rating the textbooks, which can help both - current and future teachers of biology - to better know and identify reachable textbooks and choose the right ones for the parasitism teaching. It also contains test results of students parasitism knowledge, which are generally very good. Anyway they should learn much more about parazite's manipulation of their host behavior. Other part of my master thesis shows the results of grammar school teachers-filled questionnaires. All questionnaire results (teachers' and students') show that there can be an improvement in parasitism teaching. In next section you can find the Framework Education Programme analysis, own educational programme draft - workbooks, didactic games and powerpoint presentations. Thanks to the realization of teaching the parazites manipulation of their host behavior I found out that students' interest in the topic is quite big so it would be a shame not to share this newly explored area of parasitism with them. The aim of the presented master thesis is to prepare, realise and evaluate an efficiency of the alternative method of biology (natural history) teaching at second grade of primary school via excursion into natural areas of the Třebíč region. Four field trips dealing with botanical, zoological, geological and ecological focuses were realised. The theoretical part of the thesis is characterised the Třebíč region focusing on several different natural aspects with an emphasis on an interesting natural sites in this region that are suitable for teaching. Specific teaching methods that are useful for field trips are included in this part of the thesis. The practical part described four field trips including methodical instructions for teachers. Other didactic materials and worksheets are added in the appendices. The empirical part contains questionnaires and didactic tests that are used to monitor specific attitudes of 120 pupils from primary schools to teaching of natural, field trips and worksheets. The main aim of this thesis was to create a teaching path around Mařský vrch, which could serve as a supplement to teaching biology especially for primary schools and grammar schools (children of age 11 to 15). In this thesis, I focused on the processing characteristics of the area, didactical recommendation and the proposal of the path with various stops. Eleven stops were designed.
