Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation proposes to contribute to the study of literary criticism of Deleuze, by examining at the same time Deleuze’s philosophical works, in order to demonstrate the autonomy of his literary criticism between philosophy and literature. This shows the double ambition of his literary criticism: the reading of literary works as philosophical exploration, and the metaphysical reflection incorporated in the study of the text. To show at the same time the evolution of his literary criticism and the dialogues that Deleuze engaged with literary critics and philosophers, this dissertation adopts the point of view of Deleuze in his criticisms, that is to say, to find a project of his literary criticism. The analysis of this project is guided by the Deleuzian conceptualization that has continued to be renewed, ranging from the question of genesis to that of finality and autonomy. In the argumentation of each part, this dissertation adopts comparative methods: a comparison within Deleuze’s works to demonstrate the shift of his critical horizon, a comparison with other literary critics to value his critical approaches, and a synchronic dialogue with other philosophers to contextualize its conceptualizations. Deleuze’s literary criticism, studied in his thematic genealogy, gives a place in which the relationship between literature and philosophy remains no longer at the conceptual or interpretative level, but in a reciprocal exploration, always problematised by his literary criticism

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe aim of this research is to highlight and inquire into the common methodological principles, interest and concepts constitutive of Gilles Deleuze's and Jacques Lacan's theories. Against interpretations that affirm the incompatibility of their approaches, and against analyses that restrict the comparison to their critiques of the Freudian Oedipus, our aim is to prove that the source of their commonality emanates from the relationship Deleuze and Lacan have to the problematic field designated by Kantian transcendental philosophy. Since what is at stake is no longer the possibility of thinking the conditions of possible experience in general but the conditions of the singular or the difference, that is, the conditions of an experience that by definition cannot be limited a priori by anything, that affiliation will entail a subversion and a deep reformulation of the concept 'transcendental'. The transcendental becomes a paradoxical concept insofar as, first, it is emptied or neutralized, although it doesn't disappear completely, and, second, the impossible reveals itself as the ultimate condition of possibility. We expose the programmes of Deleuze and Lacan separately but in parallel, understanding that both define the mission of transcendental research by dividing it into two phases: first, the analysis of the conditions of the thinkable in general, based upon the Structuralist premises, operates as the platform that allows them to, secondly, transcend to the real, which entails a movement from the structure towards its reverse: the "beyond the conditions'. This progress is completed in both Deleuze and Lacan by a science of limits

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleOur thesis work aims to identify the essential character of the image in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze. It is true that he is the first philosopher to consider the movement of images as the basis of thought. He has indeed written several books about the image. To him, it resembles the movement of thought and ideas and, as such, it is a means of expression and a way of existing, so it is substantial in expressing philosophy. The image allows thought to become a process to facilitate the thinker's reasoning, to understand his act, to desire life and to form the sensible. This is why Deleuze does not limit his theory of the image to the image of cinema, but extends it to all images of thought. This long neglected dimension is beginning to interest more in research on the philosophy of Deleuze. Indeed, the image makes it possible to invent the actual and virtual world of thought, and the possible and real world of existence, so that it is political, ontological and existential. The image invites us to enter into a new sensitivity and a new composition of the relationships of thoughts. The ethics of the image consists of a totality of ideas which expands and differs into everything, which accelerates in movement and slows down in rest. It constitutes its ultimate and absolute unity in a singular way of aesthetic activities. This is how the ethics of image creates a new image that is aesthetic, stylistic and transcendent in its heterogeneities, discontinuities, insensibility. The aesthetic style image specifies this new image as a new form of thought and defines it by constituent elements, expressions and contents
Delmas, Sonia. „Penser le temps à partir des oeuvres de Gilles Deleuze“. Paris 10, 2007. http://www.theses.fr/2007PA100146.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThinking about time through Gilles Deleuze’s writings reveals the indivisibility between actual corporeality (present of « effectuation ») and virtual incorporeality (time empty of « effectuation ») as an experience of eternity. Deleuze’s thoughts on time have been deeply influenced by two different kinds of philosophy. As philosophers of immanence, Spinoza, a thinker of God and of the experience of eternity, and Bergson, a philosopher of memory and duration of eternity of life, are his two allies. A description of this background forms the first part of my essay. The second part of the essay stresses the deleuzian distinction between Chronos, the corporal present (characterized as the living present) and Aiôn, time empty of effectuation (characterized as event time). My hypothesis can be summerized as follows : Heidegger’s interpretation of Kant had a significant impact on Deleuze’s elaborations of the concept of Aiôn. The third part aims at emphasising the temporal split between actual corporeality and virtual incorporeality in the field of language, in order to understand the deleuzian concept of Aiôn, not chiefly through the psychanalytic concept of the death instinct, but rather as the virtual that allows the present to pass by making history bifurcate

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleFoucault and Deleuze: two philosophers, two contemporaries with an unusual career whose meeting and mutual acknoledgement throws a glimmering ligth on each other's thinking. By comparing Foucault's and Deleuze's texts, one can find out how concepts –even philosophical practices– pass and transform from one to the other. Their asymmetrical respective publications put into relief perspectives on topical questions theoretical and political common commitments, particulary on the issue of relationships between politics and subjectivization practices; How the subject came into being through desire, and how the body harnesses its pleasures –caught between subjection to and desubjection from – give rise to an array of questions about what a life that would be free from the concept of subject, êthopoiétique, alêthurgique, in a word, a philosophical life can be. Two philosophers concerned with the event – even though Deleuze's notion of transformation does not coincide with Foucault's genealogical and archeological approach – who share the same sharp sense of criticism in order to provide a new vision of thought and foster the resurgence of an ethical questioning after the “dead of man” and the “dead of God”
Arsenie-Zamfir, Raluca. „Le corps dans la philosophie française contemporaine : Michel Henry et Gilles Deleuze“. Dijon, 2006. http://www.theses.fr/2006DIJOL008.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleOur thesis's subject is the body in the contemporary French philosophy, which we analyze starting from the writings of Michel Henry and Gilles Deleuze. The revalorization of the body's traditional concept opens a new prospect for philosophy, by conceiving the human as a nature's part and the corporeity as intensity and movement. We want to outline a philosophy of life where the body loses its geometrical contours with the profit of its capacities and its affects. The radicalism of this prospect is founded on the absolute immanence which offers the bases for the living body expressing itself by the relations with the others and with the events taking part in its constitution of meaning. Our purpose is also to revalue the order of the body practice in the world in terms of individually adjusted ethics. The living body appears therefore be fond of intensive materiality, enveloping affectivity and practices of objective control
Jacques, Vincent. „Expressionnisme et suspension problématique : la notion de problème chez Gilles Deleuze“. Paris, EHESS, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010EHES0148.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe notion of problem occupies an essential position in Deleuze's –philosophy. Starting from this notion, and using both a genetic and systematic approach, this study offers a reading of the Deleuze's system while at the same time exposing its fractures and its transformations This thesis situates itself, and develops, around the turn leading from the Idea¬problem (Difference and repetition) to the abstract machine of A Thousand Plateaus. The first part of the thesis is constructed around the critical reversaI which places the problem at the very heart of thought. The notion of problem correlates to a concept of expression taken from the first reading of Spinoza (1967). Insisting on the importance of the notion of expression, the study shows the strong internal consistency of the first stage of the system, which is known as problematic expressionism. The second part of the thesis presents the second stage of this problematic expressionism, which was developed in Mille plateau. As a result of analysis of the second reading of Spinoza (1981), it becomes necessary to demonstrate in what way the reorganization of the expressionist system became the driving force for a philosophy of the nature and the social. The notion of problem is also essential to the notion of experience as problematic suspension, as revealed in the event of The Logic of Sense and in the crystal-time of The Time-Image. Between the suspension as the contemporary question of the belief in the world and the expression as the problematic: participation in the world, the thesis thus shows that the notion of problem is found at the heart of the Deleuze's philosophy

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis aims at describing the philosophical discourse through the properties of its texts. Discourse is intended as a norm determining, at the level of the text, all the levels of the description. Correlations between these levels are described by the mean of a deeply annotated corpus comprising texts by G. Deleuze. Accessing the empirical complexity of this corpus allows us to show the importance of discourse normativity, from the morphological level to the semantic macro-structures. We examine also the influence of the idiolect and its interaction with discursive normativity. The theoretical frame of a linguistic of the norms and the methodological frame of corpus linguistics allow to make the discourse an observable and to discuss the typological criteria which do not take it into account

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleInitialy, the dream is not central to the philosophy of Deleuze. However, it seems interesting to follow the paths that this idea offers, and to listen to the multiple voices arising from the problems related to it, for different reasons. First, our work will debunk a common illusion about Deleuze : the common idea according to which his thought is a delirious and a never-ending praise of folly. Far from this cliché, Deleuze never gave up on defining philosophy with strict rigor, as a « debunking undertaking », this has been explored by Lucretius, Spinoza and Nietzsche before him. Although, the dream plays a major role in his philosophy, but it is not the role we commonly think it plays. We would like to defend the idea of a superior onirism of Deleuze, that helps giving an original consistency and a paradoxical status to the dream itself. Then the dream becomes a relevant starting point for an assessment of the relationship between truth, thought and life. From the fictional illusion of an idealist shape of the dream to the imaginative power of the onirical process, we can find three metamorphosis of the dream in the philosophy of Deleuze, to the service of a superior justice : a fiction of the airs, an exaltation of the depths, a cristal of the earth

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis argues for a constructivist reading of Gilles Deleuze' s early philosophy. In the introduction I outline why I consider Deleuze's philosophical project — from the 1950s to the 1990s — to centre on the problem of immanence, which for Deleuze is inseparable from its "construction" by various means, including language. The term "onto-logic" is used to capture this notion of immanence as constructed by language, and I claim that "univocal sense" is the name of this immanence during Deleuze' s 1960s works. In Part I, I show in detail how Deleuze derives his conception of univocal sense from the work of Nietzsche and Spinoza. I propose that Nietzsche's and Spinoza's critiques of the forms of Man and God are marshalled and transformed by Deleuze, offering a third alternative to the deadlock: either transcendental critique or pre-critical metaphysics. I also show that Deleuze's reading of Spinoza, and Bergson, entails a provisional dualism of Being and Thinking giving way to a monism, thanks to a constructivist "logic" of expression, which is where I locate the original site of Deleuze's "plane of immanence". In Part II, I extend this framework to the specific terrain of Deleuze' s engagement with the structuralist paradigm in his texts from the Tate 1960s, especially The Logic of Sense. I show how Deleuze constructs a theory of language in this text which uses the tools of structuralism and psychoanalysis to argue that corporeal bodies and the ideal propositional forms of language co-articulate to express sense. The univocal sense expressed merges the dualism of bodies and language which produced sense as their surface-effect, a veritable case of Deleuzian immanence
Deane-Freeman, Timothy. „Le Dehors Numérique : Deleuze et l'écran contemporain“. Thesis, Paris 10, 2020. http://www.theses.fr/2020PA100035.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe problem this thesis intends to address is that of a certain disconnect between the cinematic philosophy of Gilles Deleuze and the condition of the contemporary moving-image, which, in the years since Deleuze wrote on film, has been radically altered by its transformation into digital format(s). It is my central contention that a productive relationship between this philosophy and contemporary screen cultures is indeed possible, and potentially of great value, provided we can reread and extend certain key Deleuzian concepts.Pursuant to this goal, drawing on a concept deployed throughout Deleuze’s Cinema II: The Time-Image (1985), I argue that digital images can engender certain unique relations with an “outside” –an unarticulated presence beyond the frame, which serves to unground and problematise thought. The “outside” –developed from the literary philosophy of Maurice Blanchot– constitutes a genetic condition of thought, which sees the thinker confronted with that which is fundamentally un-thought, an unrecognisable terrain to which she must respond with creative, novel solutions. This model of thought, I argue, impels us away from habitudes and orthodoxies, forcing us to become radically open to contingency and change –a movement commensurate with what I will claim is the fundamental political orientation of Deleuze’s philosophy

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleGilles deleuze's work asks the problem of multiplicities. Our work will try to follow this logic able to produce new rules at every stage of his development. Research hs been extended to several fields such as mathematics, physics, aesthetics, technology, history to consider all these aspects as the leaves of a multimlicity. It is the concept which enables to show a path from one plane to another according to specific ways which have to be created
Raby, John. „Gilles Deleuze : musique, philosophie et devenir“. Thesis, Rennes 2, 2015. http://www.theses.fr/2015REN20011/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAccording to Gilles Deleuze, writing about music would be a summit of thought, the idea of superiority of the music is even asserted. Deleuze doesn’t think the relationship between music and philosophy as a comment but as a becoming. Music is not just a subject of analysis since in turn influences the style of conceptualization of the philosopher. The musical question thus revolves around two perspectives : a becoming-music of philosophy, a becoming-conceptual of music. For example, the concept of refrain refers to both a "little song" and the eternal return of Nietzsche.Becoming-music of philosophy is an artistic dimension of thought, so the writing style became a major issue. Deleuze shares with writers the creation of a foreign language in everyday language - which tends to create a « musicalisation » of words. As the writer invents a word music with a continuously variable setting of the language, the music of philosophy implies a continuous variation of the concept, including the use of metaphor. The philosophical text then refuses any interpretative approach to concentrate the affective part of the text. Such becoming is not without producing a form of ambiguity since it ultimately makes indistinguishable poetry and philosophy. How to take music fot the deleuzian concept in the field of philosophy? The same continuous variation is seen under high aesthetic ideal within the becomingconceptual of music. This second perspective corresponds to a more traditional aspect of Deleuze's thought since music is subjected to the ontological apparatus of the philosopher. Inspired by Wagner, Proust, Bergson and Boulez, Deleuze develops a metaphysic ofmusic based on two notions : the pure past and reminiscence. Because of such an idealistic conception of music aspect, Deleuze opposes Nietzsche's aesthetics to revive the romantism

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleMy thesis proposes a method of identification of the power, a creation of abstract tools to this end, an critical evaluation of the diversity of the forms of expression of the power and a proposition of measures in order to solved power problems within the framework of a materialistic deleuzo-guattarian political philosophy. Our subject is divided at four moments: the first one is a critical moment of identification of the configuration of the scientifico-political power and the definition of the task of the political philosophy towards him since an at first abstract analysis then the put in perspective of this one by a concrete analysis of the contemporary historic and political processes. The second moment consists in establishing a theory of including political philosophy with regard to all the existing critical approaches. In the third moment, it is a question at first of proposing a contents in the political theory by the presentation of concrete operators of analysis and then to legitimize the position of the political deleuzo-guattarian philosophy in the contemporary field. Finally, according to the materialistic perspective applied to the field of the political philosophy, we formulate concrete proposals for the establishment of a lasting peace by investing the contemporary political legal and strategic field. The objective is to offer a key for understanding contemporary politics by the critical approach guaranteeing a knowledge of the desirous processes presiding over the most viable and livable possible forms of order of the social organizations. We propose strategies to reach these goals

However even if it does own a part of open criticism and provocation, it would be wrong to regard that “machinism” as the mere thoughts of an iconoclast whose aim would be to tear to pieces the great figures of the history of Philosophy. “Reading by the way of the middle” is an evidence of a paradoxical faithfulness : the aim of “schizo-reading” is to experiment the virtual movements of the philosopher’s thought before it freezes or “stratifies” in the textual organisation of the book. This work aims at shedding light on the reasons why Deleuze was driven to reconsider the act of reading while showing the methodological and theoretical difficulties that punctuate the invention of this new philosophical practice
Jude, Ismaël. „Théâtre et philosophie chez Gilles Deleuze. La notion de dramatisation“. Thesis, Paris 4, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012PA040062.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe notion of “dramatisation” was formulated by Gilles Deleuze in his 1967 text Difference and Repetition, only later to be abandoned. This piece of research sets out to clarify the meaning of this concept by distinguishing its “dramatic” acceptance from its “scenic” one. Since Deleuze never explicitly expressed his theory of the stage this thesis project intends to determine from Deleuze’s texts, as well as from the authors to whom he himself referred, the hypothesis at work within the philosopher’s definition of this term. The statement of this hypothesis takes place in a problematic conceptual environment, as described in the works of Denis Guénoun and Esa Kirkkopelto. The notion of “dramatisation” derives its meaning through a critique of a particular understanding of “representation” within which Plato, Aristotle, Kant and Hegel are held captive, as well as through a certain construal of Kierkegaard and Nietzsche’s concept of repetition. Interpretations of Plato’s method of dichotomous division, Kant’s transcendental method and Nietzsche’s eternal return contribute in this thesis to articulating the way in which drama, the stage and repetition combine

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn this thesis, we challenge the critique of identity as being what oppresses difference and evolution. We try to show that the search for identity in the Hegelian system does not undermine the real but on the contrary enriches it and is a condition for its evolution and for our freedom. We also show how the emphasis on unity when interpreting a philosopher, here Aristotle, is legitimate because it allows us to emphasize in him a contribution to the search for knowledge and freedom well more than the emphasizing separation and preserving mystery and irreducibility. The latter could rather alienate us while giving us an illusion of freedom and space. We therefore oppose a logic of transcendence and separation, and show how this logic is in itself reductive. Our work has thus led more specifically in a first part to take on the ideas of unity, identity and completion present in Hegel and to show versus Adorno mainly that said ideas do not oppose human freedom but that on the contrary they imply it and are a necessary condition thereof. We try in a second part to support a Hegelian interpretation of Aristotle that takes into account unity, opposing in particular Pierre Aubenque who defends a separation and irreducibility in Aristotle. Finally, in a last part we support the representation of the real through logic - the contradiction in Hegel and the opposites in Aristotle - with the aim of showing that the negative of the representation allows an effective power over the real and cannot be considered illusory as claimed by Deleuze and Nietzsche. In this work, our reflection is led by the criticism made by these philosophers and commentators against the Hegelian philosophy and what it includes in terms of presuppositions, identity, system and logic. By highlighting the contradictions inherent in their criticism, we show that the Hegelian philosophy and the perspective it proposes overcome these contradictions and move towards freedom
D'aurizio, Claudio. „Le pli : Deleuze entre Leibniz et le Baroque“. Thesis, Reims, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019REIML001.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe subject of my thesis is the concept of “fold” in the work of Gilles Deleuze, as it emerges in the late 80’s. My purpose is to show that the concept of fold can summarise the entirety of Deleuze’s philosophical project. As a matter of fact, its formulation allows to address all of the most important questions of his thought, and to adopt a different approach on the discussion and the solution of some philosophical problems, such as the theme of the subject and Deleuze’s conception of philosophy as a “creation of concepts”. By doing that, I try to follow and underline the several implicit references and the hidden theoretical pattern which compose the text of The Fold. Leibniz and the Baroque (1988). My work is composed of five chapters. The first one has an introductive character and consists of a reflexion on Deleuze’s philosophical reading method, which we define as “anamorphic”. The second chapter focuses on the presence of Leibniz in Difference and repetition (1968) and on the relevance of his thought in the creation of Deleuzes’ philosophical terminology. The third one is titled “A thousand folds”, paraphrasing the name of another work of Deleuze and Guattari. There I try to reconstruct the several theoretical lines that compose the concept of fold; furthermore, I try to underline the philosophical multiplicity of this concept. The fourth chapter focuses on the Baroque, which plays a fundamental role in Deleuze’s argumentations. Here I retrace his ideas about infinity and folding during the Baroque era. Then, I try to confront his theory with Walter Benjamin and Jacques Lacan’s lectures of Baroque. The last chapter deals with the concept of neobaroque

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleAfter its Golden Age in Ancient Greece, the question of friendship has become a « lost philosophical problem ». During the 20th century, this question has been rather peculiarly taken over at a crossroads between philosophy and literature, first by Maurice Blanchot, and then by a whole generation of philosophers, such as Gilles Deleuze, Michel Foucault, Roland Barthes or Jacques Derrida. These theoreticians have reinstalled the philosophical dignity of the question of friendship, while reconsidering it completely. As it is, their friendship has not much in common with that of the Ancient Greeks, for it has been doubly affected: by "Auschwitz", a disaster after which it is impossible to look at a friend without defiance; and by May 1968, when any stranger was already a loved one, and thus became the "familiar-unknown". Through these two events, we have tried to elaborate a definition of friendship as friendship without a face. It corresponds to a friendship rid of the alienating, confiscating presence of the friend. In this new configuration, friendship is not at the heart of the city anymore, but it is newly radical, through a refusal of every kind of identification, fixation or assignation. To sum it up, friendship has become synonymous with the beginning of a resistance
Jeong, Boram. „Theory of subjectification in Gilles Deleuze : a study of the temporality in capitalism“. Electronic Thesis or Diss., Paris 8, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017PA080165.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation looks at time as a socially or psychologically imposed ‘structure’ that determines the ways in which past, present and future are weaved together in the subject. This inquiry presents (1) a critical role of temporality in the formation of the subject, (2) a specific temporality characteristic of contemporary financial capitalism, and (3) the pathologies of time found in the subjects of capitalism. The first two chapters provide an extensive analysis of Deleuze’s passive syntheses of time given in Difference and Repetition, which reveals the subject’s passive relation to time as a structure of ‘becoming.’ The following chapters examine how this ontological structure of time interacts with socio-economic temporalities in its production of the subject. I particularly focus on the temporal structure of debt, which has become a general condition of the subjects in the current economic system. I claim that the debt-based economy produces ‘melancholic subjectivity,’ characterized by a dominance of the past and the inhibition of becoming

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleGilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari are not famous for having a deep, enduring interest in theatre. This thesis first develops historical and biographical elements to reveal that the notion of their indifference to theatre is cruelly inexact: the former repeatedly mentions drama and constructively criticises it, while the latter turns out to be the author of dramas which are yet unpublished, and whose theatrical characteristics are revealed here. In a more conceptual part, I then offer the mapping of a heterogeneous web of notions that both philosophers abide by: theatre is used in the creation of new concepts; it is at the service of a new wording of philosophy. The Theatre of Thought, the Method of Dramatisation, the Theatre of Cruelty, the Schizo Theatre, the Minor Theatre and the Theatre through the process of Becoming-Other are the signposts of A Coming Theatre that our research sets out to explore. Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy offers a reaction to the crisis of theatre. While Deleuze takes theatre on new lines of flight and pushes it on the verge of pure abstraction, Félix Guattari forges a Postdramatic Theatre. My thesis includes indexes of all the theatrical vocabulary and characters to be found in the works of both philosophers, as well as interviews by some of their close artist friends

The analysis is dealt with in the perspective of a better understanding of the processes that lead to the birth and keeping (through its daily reproduction) of the State-Form as a Capture Apparatus, concluding with some hypotheses – and very open investigative tracks (theoreticaland practical) – aimed at thinking about a social reorganization that attempts to design different and more egalitarian scenarios of collective life. The gaze focuses on the existence of a duplicity that now demands to be better articulated: a) on the one hand, the obligation to understand the nature, the mechanisms of functioning and the purpose of ideology as a practice of 'subjugation-through-subjectivation'; b) on the otherhand, the primarily political theme of the existence of individualities and collectivities – energies and positions still collocated in the determined conjuncture – yet readables as an expression of an active and inventive subjective presence, creative and not subjugated, capable of acting and re-acting to the mechanisms of interpellation and 'shaping ad-hoc' implemented by the apparatus of general signification of the productive system. In a constant reference to the primary and secondary literature – and on this basis, by making interpretations, analogies and connections of which every responsibility is evidently assumed by the writer –, are here shown unexpected points of contact so far little identified among the authors under exam. This is accomplished by examining their work as it unfolds, especially as it evolves, expands and better specifies (this is the case of Althusser) with a different semantics, which nevertheless reinterprets – in our reading – thesis and positions already taken, making play (in a new form) categories already used in older studies, and therefore never abandoned despite every “critical” reading that identifies only breakages and irreconcilable 'coupures'. In this way, we discover elements of closeness of Althusser's latest thesis with the deleuzean and guattarian conception of the subject and of its ‘becoming’

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis work analyses the ontological vindication of motion towardsMerleau-Ponty and Deleuze’s philosophies. By “ontological vindication” weunderstand, firstly, that motion is an absolute philosophical subject before anyconsideration of the special sciences, and secondly, that this perspectiveexplains motion in its being’s dimension, that is to say motion constitutesreality creating space and time conditions without being subsumed to them.Throughout History, the philosophical importance of motion has beenambivalent, it has possessed a fundamental philosophical meaning at the sametime it has suffered and surprising disdain. Aristotle has found motion in theinnerness of things, proclaiming its ontological dimension and placing it in theheart of nature. Nevertheless, modern science, in search of nature’s domain, replaces the ontological value of motion with a geometrical model thatannihilates all processuality in the phenomenon. An ontological vindicationdesires to recover the idea of motion-process in the heart of reality, but withoutvindicate any aristotelianism. Thanks to Merleau-Ponty and Deleuze, we areable to propose an ontological motion beyond the Aristotelian categories andthe anthropomorphic models, which makes possible a meditation aboutmobility in itself and which is suitable to a cosmological philosophy. This workalso contributes to the studies between Merleau-Ponty and Deleuze, whoseliterature is barely absent and reduced to specials fields. On the contrary, wepropose an approach concerning to their ontological projects and, in particular, concerning to the question of motion

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis thesis is about anti-Hegalianism of French philosophy during the 1960s. Focusing on Louis Althusser, Michel Foucault and Gilles Deleuze, its aim is to understand why a lot of philosophers, at that time, criticized Hegel even though his philosophy had been very successful in France from 1930s to 1950s. The comprehension of this phenomenon aspires also to show its limits, in order to go beyond the false opposition between anti-Hegelianism and Hegelianism and to think about the relevancy of Hegel’s philosophy today. In a first part, the text analyzes Althusser’s work from the master’s thesis on Hegel (1947) to the very anti-Hegelian books For Marx and Reading Capital (1965) ; then it studies Foucault’s thought to understand why he defended Hegel in 1949 and after became an anti-Hegelian philosopher during the 1950s and the 1960s ; finally, it searches why Deleuze evolved until developping a violent anti-Hegelianism in Nietzsche and Philosophy (1962) and in Difference and Repetition (1968). The conclusion tries to seize this collective phenomenon as an intellectual constellation, but also to problematize it

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleM. Foucault has been trying to found a new way to think discontinuity through the production of a concept of discontinuity which might be able to break both with "philosophies of the subject" and the linear, teleological models of history, and conceiving a new history of the systems of thought which would warrant the historicization of its own process or objectivation. Foucault's philosophy is discontinuous, non linear and obviously rooted in its own history. A new approach of his work was thus wanted in order to read Foucault with its own method of historicization. The paradoxal link between discontinuity and history has been approached through a second concept, "difference", which appears to be central in French thought after 1945, associated with a larger attempt to formulate the possible conditions of a non-dialectical thought. Foucault's neglected dialogue with Merleau-Ponty, Derrida and Deleuze's works, to whom such a topic has been central, suggests to formulate a new hypothesis : there has been among them a common problematization of difference, but the relation to history and discontinuity has underlined the singularity of each singl philosophical choice
Bonnec, Damien. „Pierre Boulez et Stéphane Mallarmé : essai d’une herméneutique comparée“. Thesis, Rennes 2, 2019. http://www.theses.fr/2019REN20054.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleEnlightened amateur of the litterature, Pierre Boulez (1925-2016) has set several times to put to music some of the most original authors of modern litterature. Many commented, his relationship with the poetry of Stéphane Mallarmé (1842-1898) has manifested itself several times, as in the cycle Fold by fold - composed for nearly three decades - or in his Third Sonata. If the open work’s problematic was a particularly discussed aspect, the influence of the poet does not seem to stop at such a conception of form. Also, the reference to Mallarmé, having not always been explicit, will have to be sought in works devoid of any textual treatment. Indeed, if many Boulezian works no longer make any reference to the poet, they do not seen less to suscribe in the wake digged by the meeting with the Mallarmean poetics. Apart from the questions relating to open forms, it will be a question of grasping what, in the dialogue of the composer and the poet, unfolds. To do this, the present thesis intends to engage in a most fruitful dialogue with contemporary aesthetic thought. Based on French philosophy – as Deleuze’s one - it seems that notions such as fold, resonance or suspense are then able to thematize and deepen the close relationship between Boulez and Mallarmé

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation plans to contribute to a study of the philosophy of time and the ethics of Deleuze, by scrutinizing the conception of time drawn from the three syntheses in Difference and repetition and that of ethics which is embodied in the article titled “Spinoza and the three « Ethics » ” (Critical and Clinical), in order to show the isomorphism between the ternary structure of the three syntheses of time and that of the three Ethics. This brings about a meta-ethical stake going beyond the deleuzian scope and also enables to recapture the conception of ethics from a perspective of time. It’s about trying to arrive at a meta-ethical reflection, on the deleuzian ethics inspired by Spinoza and Nietzsche, from this ‘problematique’ of both time and ethics. The approach and the style that are adopted to realize this theme are neither exegetical nor hermeneutical, but inclined to construct the arguments. Hence, instead of adhering to the deleuzian assertions taken for granted, by insisting on an intellectual reserve and by practicing an argumentative attitude, a genuine conceptual dialogue with Deleuze from an external point of view becomes possible. This argumentative dialogue is realized by applyingsome powerful concepts, which don’t necessarily attach to the deleuzian system: the concept of ‘presentism’ is introduced by joining it with that of the spinozian ‘expression’ in order to make all the three syntheses of time univocal; the concept of ‘abduction’ is invited to clarify the particular philosophical manner of Deleuze. Therefore, this dissertation privileges an externalist point of view in the reading of the articulation between ontology of time and ethics
Bénit, Bernard. „Deleuze : la pensée sans image“. Thesis, Paris 10, 2017. http://www.theses.fr/2017PA100002/document.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn his early works, Deleuze looks for a "thought without image", inseparable from the critique of the "image of thought", i.e. of representation. The problem, organizing Deleuze's philosophy, is the relation of thought with the image problem that is picked up and moved, from Nietzsche and phi/osophy to Difference and repetition. To "describe" the acts of a thought without image, Deleuze proceeds in three steps: "the starting point" is the criticism of the image of thought, the denunciation of representation and its presuppositions, which trap and distort the thought. "The real beginning" consists, therefore, in identifying the conditions, not of experience possible such in the representation, but the actual experience, which is a new image of thought that frees it from the representation. The representative image of thought, Deleuze substitute to a new image of thought which is the set of conditions for a thought without image. Finally, the third step, "the authentic repetition", is the update of a thought without image, sub representative. Far from being natural, given to a thinker of goodwill, like recognition, the thought without image is creation of thinking in thought, thought wild, nomadic, who was born without prior model, or likeness: it arises from the violent encounter with the sign that forces it to think. In other words, the thought without image, is the system of the simulacrum

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleWhat is literature's approach to the event? How does literature produce and give testimony to events? The event is generally defined in this study as any occurrence, real or fictional, within a singular verbal work. The event is that which obviously comes about, yet in its very essence the event comprises a dimension of inexhaustibility, an unknown element that refuses perception and appropriation, and that constructs and depends on the creative engagement of the stylistic and fictional work. Reading Heidegger's later writings and discussing his reception by French thinkers such as Blanchot, Derrida, and Deleuze, my study defines the act of literary creation as a progression towards the event and, most particularly, as the experience of the un-happening element within the happening. As I argue, while the event incessantly acts in the literary work as an unprecedented call for absolute creation, literature offers the evasive voice and image of the non-place within the taking place. My study demonstrates how these theoretical premises may be applied to actual literary works by analysing Marcel Proust's and Louis Ferdinand Céline's air raid passages in Le Temps Retrouvé (1927) and in the first book of Féerie Pour Une Autre Fois (1953) respectively. In these passages, the experience of literature—as both an act of writing and reading—becomes the vital move of the event itself: the more one surrenders to the violent and impersonal corporeality of the event, the more the work becomes "the offspring of the event," as Deleuze joyfully remarks (Logique du Sens, 1969)

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleMasochism: Coldness and Cruelty, published(1967) Deleuze proposes a distinction between death instinct and death drive, so that sadism and masochism are regarded as different processes and mutually exclusive. Deleuze relies on Freud' s arguments, more precisely on the text Beyond the Pleasure Principle (1920), to conceive the death instinct as a transcendental principle and to differentiate it from its psychic representative, the death drive. Deleuze thus initiates a philosophical investigation around the transcendental field and the pleasure principle. This investigation runs parallel to an intense debate on psychoanalytical theory, and continues during his later works. Deleuze appreciates the freudian suggestion of an unconscious functioning indifferent to the pleasure principle and governed by repetition. He proposes to develop the concept in the form of transcendental synthesis of time. Difference and Repetition (1968) places Freud in a dialogue with other philosophers — especially Hume, Bergson and Nietzsche — and postulates three transcendental syntheses marked by repetition, or three passive syntheses of time, which are constitutive of the unconscious and independent of the pleasure principle. From Deleuze' s philosophical advances, a reevaluation of several psychoanalytical concepts begins, founded on an understanding of the death instinct as the positive and originating principle of the repetition, as the power that engenders "thinking" in thought under the effect of violence. Logic of Sense (1969) leads this une of investigation to the argument that the senses are produced by the power of the paradoxes and identifies the death instinct with no sense. Some concepts of Freud, Klein and Lacan are included in the composition of a new image of philosophy and of what it means to think. Trying to demonstrate that thought and sense are produced in close relationship with the erogenous body, Deleuze returns to the psychosexual development but now from the perspective of his philosophical concepts, and presents his own version of the genesis and dynamics of the psychological instances. In view of this philosophical course taking by Deleuze, this doctoral research proposed to explore his discussion with psychoanalysis, according to a trajectory outlined by the concept of death instinct along these three works. We demonstrate how Deleuze understands and appropriates of some psychoanalytic concepts, linking them with other concepts of his philosophy. We indicate which issues from psychoanalysis were valued in the composition of a transcendental philosophy of difference. From a systematic exposition of the criticisms and proposais that Deleuze addresses to the psychoanalytical field in this particular period, we carried out a confrontation between Deleuze's philosophical interventions and the original psychoanalytical texts. Ultimately, this research intends to contribute to a discussion about the pertinence, coherence and relevance of this debate for both domains

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleHenri Bergson, in the first chapter of Matter and Memory, extends perception from the subject to the whole reality, conceived as a cosmic system of images, integrating this idea with an original understanding of the matter as a force, a dynamic field that coincides with the expression of an élan vital. Gilles Deleuze, during the sixties, resumes these intuitions, elaborating the notion of plane of immanence, i.e. a surface that determines the emergence of reality, a “cosmogenetic” condition of everything that is. Aim of my work is to study this line of thought, grounded on the notion of transcendental impersonal field, that connects Bergson to Deleuze with the intermediation of Jean-Paul Sartre, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Jean Hyppolite, Raymond Ruyer and Gilbert Simondon and that seems to show, at the same time, an original metaphysics, capable of grasping the different relations that constitutes the cosmos

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIf Deleuze and Guattari partly proceeded with producing their Anti-Oedipus with Artaud (1972) from a recipitation of the essence of Lacan's work, it's aise in the wake of this book that Lacan, moving towards a psychoanalysis of the Real, reassessed the matter of psychosis with Joyce. Far from being an alleged epistemological caesura, insanity accounts for the unconscious. Clinical work with madness enables to further investigate the mechanisms of the unconscious in relationship to the other. Subsequently, in light of this clinical work, the psychoanalytic technique, its links with nosography, along with some classical metapsychological concepts, are bound to be re-evaluated and revised. But giving rise to this fresh praxis- based and epistemological thinking entails a materialist approach to the unconscious as a space of productior and reproduction and net merely a scene of intrapsychic representations always-already-there that the clinician would "discover". Considering the unconscious to its full extent as a paradigm that the clinical work demands and updates sheds a new light on the conditions of possibility of psychoanalytic technique. Psychoanalysis may thus recover the true reach of its impact, beyond the temptation of "psychoanalysis-as- an-ideology" that used it to extend the social forms of domination, hiding them in the shadow of its nosographic constructions supporting the psychoanalytic psychiatric operation Foucault revealed. Relieved of its ideological guidance and idealistic coating, the analytic act, far from remaining abstract, can be conceived and accepted as an operation of an ever and full clinical and political consistency

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn my thesis, I aim to study Deleuze's concept of literary semiotics by refering to its roots Nietzsche and Freud. Deleuze recognizes that his entire philosophy deals with the notions of "sign" and "sense". The sources of his inspiration for his semiotics are Nietzsche and Freud, who seem to be mixed in Deleuze's work so that it's difficult to distinguish Nietzsche from Freud. My first chapter deals with the way Nietzsche and Freud search for a corporal language. My second chapter examines how the unconscious forces will be motors of coding and decoding. In my third chapter, I reveal how Deleuze succeeds in transposing to Lewis Carroll's works a cryptology of the unconsciousness, which is under the sign of Nietzsche and Freud. Not the consciousness but the will to power (or the libido) webs the texts. The letter of the unconsciousness must render it valuable by recurring at the genealogy and the archaeology. Those operations of decoding are the condition for a new coding of the instinctive text which must become a poetic text transcribing in a metaphoric way the forces of the body

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research deals with body modifications, whether given as intentional or not, just as psychoanalysis, when essentially considered in its Lacanian stream, looks upon them in their as well theoretical as clinical meaning. From the methodological point of view, this issue gets involved in a twofold relation between philosophy and aesthetics. On the one hand, we intend to resort to the critical tools brought by philosophers (Deleuze & Guattari, Judith Butler) in order to question the unthought and normative presuppositions that underlie the psychoanalytical viewpoint on body ; in the same time, this process lets the rational categories evolve under the pressure of some specific psychoanalytical results. On the other hand, the reference to art (literature, visual arts, cinema, body performances) will be used as touchstone and source for the reinvention of the analytical conceptual network ; conversely, the clinical investigation and formalisation lead to redefine and to shift the basic frameworks of aesthetic discourse (representation, surface, form, sublimation…). As main thread and research hypothesis, we explore the harmonics of the « sinthome », a concept extracted by Lacan from his thoughts about art and writing, so as to comprehend the conditions of subjective invention in its bodily dimension
