www technologies are developing very fast. The new technologies make possible the easier creation of the web applications, which support business activities. Small and medium size enterprises, which serve as the driving force for innovations and thus for economic development, can utilize these technologies for the creation of relatively inexpensive applications, which can be tailor-made for the given enterprise by using the open source software (OSS). This contribution presents several practical examples of how to create – update – the web site of an enterprise and how to supplement it with an e-shop option. Examples from the area of flower selling have been selected.

Today, as organizations face constant change, they must rapidly adapt their strategies and operations. This involves continuous business transformation. However, guiding and managing such transformation can be an intimidating task because of organizational complexity. Hence, organizations resort to Enterprise Architecture (EA) to address this complexity and achieve their transformation goals. Nonetheless, there is a lack of research on EA benefits realization and a dearth of conclusive evidence on how EA enables business transformation and delivers value to organizations. Therefore, this research uses a case study method to explore how EA investment is converted into organizational value. This research makes two contributions. The first of these is the development of an EA value realization model, which comprises three iterative and interrelated processes: the EA conversion process, the EA use process, and the EA competitive process. The second contribution is the identification of factors that may influence the value realization process.

Mentawai is well known as an ecotourism area in Indonesia, with its Siberut National Park recognized as part of the World Network of Biosphere Reserves. People come to visit this exotic area every year to do activities and enjoying the natural surroundings. Tourist visits to Mentawai were escalating by years, both domestic and foreign tourists. Regional income from tourism was also increasing. Ecotourism is known worldwide for its benefit for economic contribution to local communities and poverty alleviation. The economic contribution of ecotourism is often appreciated through its direct effect on local business enterprises on sites. However, statistics today showed that Mentawai are still categorized as underdeveloped and poor. Therefore, this descriptive research objective was to assess tourism contribution by means of direct effect to local business enterprises and challenges faced by villages near Siberut National Park, South Siberut, Mentawai. A survey was conducted in November 2018 by distributing questionnaires to 19 representatives of tourism-related Local Business Enterprises (LBEs) using an accidental sampling technique. Data collected were then processed, analyzed and interpreted. In conclusion, this study shows that there is a low direct effect of tourism to the existing Local Business Enterprise in the villages of Muntei, Madobag, and Matotonan of South Siberut, Mentawai Island Regency, West Sumatera, Indonesia. In addition, essential challenges exist, not to mention managerial, predominantly concerning financial and legal matters. It is recommended that local government and other stakeholders put more consideration not only on environmental and social aspects, but also economy, represented by local business enterprises. Initiatives and integrated actions should be arranged and put in practice as empowering tourism, particularly ecotourism to its optimum, to bring about foremost contribution to local economy through direct effect of tourism to local business enterprises. Purpose The utilization of social networks is known to have an impact on micro-enterprise success. This study aims to examine the contribution of social networks in acquiring resources and their role in the enterprise’s success. Design/methodology/approach A business’s success is influenced by its network structure and the network’s resources. The authors examine whether unique religious-cultural characteristics affect the social networks contribution to a business’s success. This model examines the network utilization of women entrepreneurs who own micro-enterprises in ultra-religious groups. The sample consists of 123 surveys completed by Jewish ultra-Orthodox women entrepreneurs in Israel. Data collection was conducted between February and June 2013. The authors used a snowball sampling approach where interviewees were asked to refer us to other entrepreneurs. In the hour-long interview, a questionnaire was used with open and closed questions. Findings Findings indicate that strong personal ties provide a micro-enterprise with social legitimacy, emotional support and assistance in the management and operation of daily activities. However, contrary to the existing literature, network utilization did not contribute to enterprise success. That is, in religious communities in particular, social networks enable the existence of businesses, but do not contribute to their success. Practical implications The practical implications of this paper are the mapping of the social network resources used by the business owner, such as financial consultations or professional assistance, as well as distinguishing between strong and weak ties, which reflect the intensity of the contact for better use of the social network by the entrepreneurs. Originality/value This study examined social networks’ contribution to the acquisition of resources, as well as the part they play in the success of ultra-orthodox women micro-entrepreneurs and perhaps other religious and minorities groups.

<p>Small businesses (those with up to 99 employees) are the most common business type in Canada – comprising 97.9 per cent of businesses, and contributing close to one-third of Canada’s gross domestic product (GDP). Yet a significant number of these businesses fail, with only about 50 per cent lasting at least five years, according to Industry Canada. Social enterprises – businesses that provide valuable products or services while delivering social and sometime environmental returns – struggle even more than small businesses to attract finance, grow, and sustain. What are the similarities and differences between these two groups’ needs, and how can Canada’s three levels of government and the broader business ecosystem better support small businesses and social enterprises to thrive? This paper takes a comprehensive look at key business needs, barriers to success, enabling factors, and policy incentives, drawing upon academic literature, studies and reports from the government, non-profit, and social enterprise sectors, as well as recommendations from business advocacy groups primarily from Canada and the United States. </p><p><strong>Keywords: </strong>Small business, social enterprise, business financing, business growth, business ecosystem, procurement policy</p>

This paper explores links between developed innovations and business performance in small enterprises with fewer than 50 employees. It also examines how performance has changed over time during a period of five years. The empirical evidence is based on two quantitative datasets describing innovation and business performance in 145 small enterprises in 2005–2009. The study makes a contribution to academic literature by providing a detailed view of the differences in performance across innovation types. The results suggest that during the period of five years, non-innovators have been the best performing enterprises in terms of operating earnings and return on investments while radical innovations can be connected with sales growth. During the recession, the less vulnerable enterprises have been non-innovators and innovators characterised by the high diversity of developed innovations. Applying these results helps small business owners to consider what is the nature and timescale for getting return on innovations.

Purpose This paper aims to conceptualize two patterns of user recognition mechanisms and two kinds of user contribution behavior in enterprise-hosted online product innovation community and explain their relationships between user recognition mechanisms and user contribution behavior of online product innovation community. Design/methodology/approach A Chinese enterprise-hosted online innovation community and an American enterprise-hosted online innovation community are selected as research objects. Four Logit models are developed and some hypotheses are supposed from the perspective of prosocial behavior theory. Objective user data with three months from two online product innovation communities are collected to test with Logit regression analysis. Findings Findings show that there are obvious correlations between user recognition mechanisms and user contribution behavior, and there is also an obvious difference in community user activity level between the quantity-based user recognition mechanism community and the quality-based user recognition mechanism community. More specifically, in the online product innovation community with quantity-based recognition mechanism, both variables of peer recognition and community image motivation significantly affect user proactive contribution behavior. In the online product innovation community with quality-based recognition mechanism, the variable of peer recognition significantly affects both user proactive contribution behavior and user responsive contribution behavior; the variable of community image motivation significantly affects both user proactive contribution behavior and user responsive contribution behavior. Practical implications Although it is voluntary, online user voluntary contribution behavior still need to be presented, recognized and affirmed by community. For enterprise-hosted online community managers, they should pay more attention to design the reasonable online community user recognition mechanism with the coexistence of quantity and quality. Originality/value The theoretical contribution in this study is to enrich the existing research theme about enterprise-hosted online product innovation community. First, it conceptualizes two patterns of user recognition mechanisms. Second, it regards the variable of user contribution behavior as the co-existence of proactive contribution and responsive contribution. Third, from the perspective of prosocial behavior theory, it is an important supplement to explain the mechanism of user contribution behavior in enterprise-hosted online product innovation community. Fourth, it deepens the overall understanding of the relationship between user recognition mechanism and user contribution behavior. This study provides theoretical guidance for enterprises how to design reasonable and efficient online product innovation community platform. The research is devoted to the peculiarities of the formation of non-financial reporting as one of the tools for measuring the social activity of enterprises. The financial stability and successful business of enterprises is conditional on non-financial indicators and business orientation, ranks, reputation, openness and social responsibility. Non-financial reporting or a CSR report is an effective tool for measuring the performance of enterprises, a basis for the development and implementation of various strategic projects and programs. Information from non-financial reporting allows for assessing the effectiveness of management at an enterprise by economic, environmental and social component, their interdependence and contribution in achieving the main goal, and for subsequent goal setting and more effectively management of change. It means that the report in question serves as the main platform for communicating the results and impacts (positive or negative) of sustainable development. It shows the real effort of an enterprise in creating social, environmental and economic benefits. However, domestic enterprises do not have sufficient experience in the field of socially responsible business and need to create their own internal concept of corporate social responsibility considering international trends, which determines the relevance of this study Various international non-financial reporting standards are analyzed; it is demonstrated that the most popular mechanism for regulating non-financial reporting is the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), which defines a set of indicators measuring the social, ecological and economic component of the economic activity of enterprises The mechanism for making up a non-financial report by phase of the enterprise development is built. The use of the proposed mechanism in making up non-financial reporting will enable to set up an effective link between the enterprise and the stakeholders, and to determine the strategic directions of the enterprise's activities in the context of its development.

Tourism is a fast growing industry and has the potential for poverty alleviation for rural persons. Butha-Buthe, being in a rural area of Lesotho, has magnificent scenery of mountains, attractions to be visited, and adventure activities to be done. However, tourism in Butha-Buthe is under-developed, and it is very important to identify tourism’s potential in this area and explore how SMMEs could contribute in the development of tourism. Therefore the objective of this study is to examine the economic role of small, medium and micro enterprises in the development of tourism in Butha-Buthe. Challenges faced by the SMMEs include lack of resources such as poor infrastructure poor roads, transportation, and a lack of network-communication. Other challenges would be poor business skills in regards to employment and management which leads to business failure. To accomplish the study objective, questionnaires were distributed to local entrepreneurs in Butha-Buthe, local communities, local government and other stake-holders in the district. In addition, a mixed method of research was carefully and logically planned and then implemented. A survey questionnaire was used to obtain the views of the different stakeholders. The questionnaires were collected and data analysed which allowed the researcher to draw conclusions and propose a range of recommendations based on the findings, to assist in the development of tourism in Butha-Buthe. The findings revealed that there is huge potential of tourism development in Butha-Buthe through the SMME sector, but that there are still challenges faced by SMMEs in this district, despite the economic contribution they make. However, through the support of the government and private sectors these challenges should be dealt with.

ENGLISH ABSTRACT: In 1997, the Government of the Republic of Namibia launched the Policy and Programme for Small Business Development. The Ministry of Trade and Industry at the time was assigned the responsibility, together with several different stakeholders, to implement this policy. The launch of such a programme was a step taken to recognise the importance of the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector in local economic development (LED). The core of LED transformation and the implementation of any local authority is the creation of the private sector - a primary source of development – and support of the SME sector in particular. SMEs are considered one of the main driving forces in LED. The current study, which was conducted within Oshakati Town, attempted to study the role of SMEs in the LED sector and what challenges are hampering the SME sector to participate fully and to make a serious contribution towards LED implementation at the local authority level. The study considers to what extent the Namibian government and local government policies supports the SME sector development and contributes to LED and assessed issues regarding the sustainability of the measures engaged in by the government, and especially by the local government. Further, the researcher also attempted to determine how the SME sector in Namibia has responded to the LED implementation that regards SME development as the key to social and economic development through reducing poverty and increasing employment opportunities. The findings of the study indicates that, despite the nationally recognised importance of the SME sector in terms of LED, the sector still faces major challenges in regional and local government. The challenges of business entry (start-up capital), survival and growth are often substantial. The availability of financial resources and the lack of capacity to handle complex business management issues, as well as business premises also regarding the price of business land are all important in this regard. There is a continuous need to improve and maintain the required elements that bring about a good enterprises climate.

Copreneurs, defined as couples who jointly operate a business and share business-related responsibilities and decisions, represent a growing portion of family business (Fitzgerald & Muske; 2002; Marshack, 1993, 1994). However, knowledge of copreneurs remains limited in the research literature. The uniqueness of copreneurs may be particularly meaningful with respect to community social responsibility, referring to the contributions a business provides to the community beyond the products and services offered (Besser, 1999). This study explores the potential differences between the socially responsible behaviors of copreneurial and noncopreneurial businesses using the Sustainable Family Business Theory as a framework. Analysis focuses on the influence of business owner, business, community, and family characteristics on the community social responsibility of copreneurs and noncopreneurs. Data from the 2000 panel of the National Family Business Survey (NFBS) was used. Findings indicate that certain characteristics and contexts influence community social responsibility, although copreneurship is not a significant predictor.

Motivated by the number of firms that migrate from the Alternative Exchange (AltX) to the JSE main board, this research undertakes to examine the role and the functions of the AltX and its contribution to the development of the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMMEs) in South Africa over the period from January 2004 to December 2015. This study seeks to explore the performance of the firms that have migrated from the AltX to the JSE main board, as well as the attributes that contribute to a successful migration. The study emerges by computing risk, return, risk-adjusted performance and liquidity statistics of the firms that migrated from the AltX to the JSE main board over the period of the research since their respective listings on the AltX. In the preliminary tests conducted in this study, the excess returns of the sample firms were regressed against the market risk premium using ALSI as the market proxy. It is discovered that the beta coefficients estimated by the regressions are statistically insignificant. This indicates that the firms listed on the AltX have insignificant correlation with the firms listed on the JSE main board. Therefore, the ALSI could not be used as a performance benchmark for the sample firms in this research. Subsequently, the research evaluates the market response before and after the announcement date and the actual migration date of the firms that have migrated from the AltX to the JSE main board. The reasons why this research investigates the impact of announcement and actual migration separately is due to the observation that the period between announcement date and migration date is usually more than a month and investors might have different reactions towards these two mentioned events. Moreover, this is the first research that has investigated the impact corporate reaction on both migration announcement date and the actual migration date of the firms from the AltX to the JSE main board. The results reveal that there are significant average abnormal returns and average abnormal turnovers reaction around migration announcement date/actual migration date. The findings suggest that both the migration announcement and actual migration of the firms from the AltX to the JSE main board have produced significant abnormal returns. Moreover, the research evaluates the performance of the firms that have migrated from the AltX to the JSE main board against their comparable peers. The performance evaluation is conducted in two folds. Firstly, the evaluation is conducted in order to assess the financial position of the AltX sample firms before their migration to the JSE main board. Secondly, the post migration performance evaluation is conducted in order to classify each of the sample firms either as a success or as a failure after their migration to the JSE main board. The results reveals that, out of 20 sample firms only 13 firms have been categorised as successful post their migration from the AltX to the JSE main board, while the remaining 7 firms are categorised as unsuccessful post migration. Finally, this research investigates the attributes that differentiate the AltX firms that are likely to be successful and those that are unlikely to be successful after their migration to the JSE main board. To achieve this, Multivariate Discriminant Analysis (MDA) model developed by Altman (1968) is employed. The results reveals that, the model is able to classify 90% of the original cases and 85% of the cross-validated cases perfectly. Moreover, the model has identified net profit margin, current ratio and return on capital invested as the most important financial ratios in distinguishing the successful firms from unsuccessful firms post migration from the AltX to the JSE main board.

Family businesses are operating throughout the world and suggested to be the predominant way of doing business. This is also true in South Africa with its unique challenges and informal sector providing work to many South Africans not able to find work in the formal sector. Women operating in the corporate environment have traditionally encountered challenges in breaking through the glass ceiling in order to be counted as a successful person in her own right. The same scenario seems to be evident in the family Business environment. Women in family business might choose the family business career path as it allows them more flexibility and time to attend to the home and children, but they also face a glass ceiling of another nature and are there other challenges to overcome in order to make their mark in the family business world. This study’s primary objective was to investigate the literature pertaining to women in business and women in family business. Of great importance was to determine what contributions women make in the family business environment allowing them to be successful. In order to answer this question the secondary objectives supported the primary objective of this study and pertained to the difference between men and women in terms of leadership style and execution of their personalities in business. The inherent strengths and weaknesses displayed by both male and females in the family business environment are investigated in order to link this to their management execution. v A questionnaire was developed to do an empirical study on respondents as identified in the Nelson Mandela Metropole and greater Eastern Cape. The respondents were from varied industries and was selected and interviewed with the support of the questionnaire structure as guidance. The results were analysed and certain recommendations were made addressing the primary objective. Further recommendations were made relating to future potential research in this area. An important finding of the research is that women as identified in the Eastern Cape environment still have difficulty in reaching the top. This is true for the corporate world as well as the family business environment. The difficulty might be based in the traditional roles women assume, but in many cases it was found that women are responsible for their downfall or stagnation in the family business environment as women are satisfied to remain in the shadows and do not command their own space and right of existence. Recommendations were made based on the advice of some of the female respondents which can assist in women stepping up to the role they should take up. Some of the advice given can be used as a best practice in future research of this nature.

AbstractThe concept of IC puts the employee, in its potential role as crowdsource, Campaign Owner or initiator into focus. This reflects the emancipatory and participatory principle that goes hand in hand with the concept of Social Business. The basic idea of Social Business is not to link the business success of a company exclusively to its management capabilities or the business plan, but to understand and value the individual stakeholder as part of a successful enterprise network. For Social Business, value is not exclusively understood as business value; rather, the perspective is expanded to include social added value, in the sense that the value of the work for the employee, society or the environment is considered as an indirect corporate goal. Thus, Social Business is defined as a framework or strategy that uses digital social networks (enterprise social networks) with the primary goal of generating social, ecological and economic benefits. This article introduces the Social Business reference model, which supports the adoption and implementation of the outlined strategy and contrasts it to the ICU Model in order to identify the strengths as well as weaknesses of both models.

Purpose – to identify the types of risks to be analysed during the process of digitalisation of business models driven by Industry 4.0 and determine which blocks of business model are affected most. Research methodology – FARE method as a Multicriteria decision support method for expert evaluation is used. Findings – results determine 6 types of risks: technical, competence, acceptance by staff, acceptance by customers and partners, data privacy and security and financial risks. The highest effect is shown in customer channels, key resources, and revenue stream and customer segmentation. The lowest effect is shown for key partners. Research limitations – research focuses on the level of enterprise and does not cover macro-level risks. Practical implications – Industry 4.0 brings new types of risks to be assessed. The results show that risk assessment matrix RADi (Risk Assessment of Digitalisation of Business Model) can be used by enterprises to identify areas of highest risks when planning and implementing digitalisation of parts or whole business model due to Industry 4.0. Originality/Value – a new risk assessment matrix RADi (Risk Assessment of Digitalisation of Business Model) is developed by the authors as a contribution to the systematic approach to the changes occurring because of digitalisation in the business models

Design plays a leading role in the whole life cycle of nuclear power production, including site selection, design, manufacture, construction, operation and decommission. The quality of the design products directly affects the intrinsic safety of the nuclear power plant. The quality of final products in design process depends on a number of factors, including not only technology capability, but also the improvement of design quality assurance system, the capability and responsibility of the designers to nuclear safety, the thinking mode and working habit of the designers, and the extent of complete implementation of the review systems at all levels. These factors consequently affect the level of safety of the nuclear power plant. Nuclear power design industry is typical knowledge-intensive business, in which knowledge workers consist of essential assets to the enterprise. The article analyzes the asset structure and staff structure of nuclear power design industries in contrast with other industries, and discusses the contribution of knowledge workers to the development of the enterprise. This paper also tries to document the characteristics of knowledge workers in nuclear power enterprises. They are characteristic of superior income and welfare, high level education and ability, high specialization, and tacit knowledge. Based on these analyses, the article addresses four major principles in nuclear safety culture construction for nuclear power design enterprises as follows: 1. adopt motivation factors as major incentives, 2. emphasize self management, 3. management by objectives (MBO), 4. team work.

The differing views regarding the role of business in society are often presented as being placed within the stakeholder-shareholder debate. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) not only sits comfortably with the mantra of maximising shareholder value, sustainable CRS practices enhance shareholder value. The purpose of the current paper is to focus on the strategic implications of stakeholder approach in theoretical background with confrontation in a sample of Czech small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and large enterprises. Data were collected through personal questionnaires that were subsequently evaluated by dependence on the type of stakeholders and their level of significance. The findings of the research discovered considerable differences between the perception of the role and importance of the various stakeholders. The contribution of this paper derives in application of stakeholder approach in Czech enterprises. They are seen as having an obligation to consider society’s long-run needs and wants, which implies that they engage in activities that promote benefits for society.

The Masters of Enterprise Programme is a postgraduate programme whereby a student attempts to start a business during the course of their studies. Established in 2001, we have analysed the success of the 59 companies created from the course and found that as expected the start-up rate is higher than the general population. We also found that ratio of male to female founders (70-30) was similar to start-ups from the general population; however, the survival rate of ventures created from the programme was significantly higher. Also, a higher rate of the businesses were employing more than just the founder, implying they are what could be considered “Entrepreneurial” businesses rather than simply someone self- employed as might be normal in some careers. Despite many overseas students completing the course, only 3 of the businesses were founded outside the UK, suggesting the UK economy is benefitting from the ventures created. We also discuss other outcomes from the course such as these entrepreneurial students are often recruited by top corporates. We further discuss what we believe are the contributing pedagogic factors to its success. Keywords: Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Education, Employability, Start-ups, UK economy.

The purpose of this paper is to highlight the main benefits and challenges of using a data-driven recruiting system in enterprises. The trend of increasing digital presence in all fields requires new knowledge and skills of employees. Sustainable development of enterprise is increasingly based on human capital and investment in it. Precisely in these conditions of business, on the one hand, there is increasing pressure to attract and hire the highest quality employees more efficiently, which implies large investments in the recruitment processes and on the other hand to justify those investments. The high-quality data-driven recruitment system provides a way to measure the contribution of recruiting process to the success, to adequately manage existing recruitment programs, and to justify investments in their further development. A special part of this paper will be consecrated to the trends and challenges of using data-driven recruitment in the context of the global crisis of the coronavirus COVID - 19 pandemic.

The family firms (FFs) play an instrumental role in the economic spectrum of the Russian economy with respect to their contribution to income, output, and employment, ceteris paribus. The FFs not only contribute the domestic business activities but also make a significant contribution to international business. Ever since the launch of the mass privatization program (MPP) in Russia during 1992–1994 numerous disruptions on the business and economic landscape of Russia have emerged, and as a result, the FFs in Russia have been experiencing several new opportunities and challenges in the international market. However, it is noticeable that corporate regulatory, and corporate governance systems do not even clearly define the FFs. The current study explores the following research objectives: first, the motivation of internationalization of family enterprises in Russia, second, their process of internationalization, and third, the problems and challenges faced by the family enterprises

This document outlines a Rockwell Collins initiative currently underway to establish an eXtended Integrated Development Environment (XIDE) throughout its enterprise. The strategies contained in this document are either based on steps already complete or steps that are planned. We begin with a description of the XIDE vision followed by the major attributes of an XIDE and their importance. Several approaches to XIDE tool integration are described and a tool integration framework technology is selected based on the goals of scalability and modularity, available components for tool integration, and platform portability characteristics. A strategic migration plan is then outlined by identifying steps necessary to implement the XIDE vision. The implementation steps are then explored further along with reasons why they’re necessary and guidance on how to approach them. The final section explores Eclipse in much greater detail, including its history as an open source tool, the Eclipse Foundation, and justification for its selection for the XIDE framework. Also included are guidelines for the use of open source, and a review of several scenarios where contributing to open source can make sound business sense.

Saha, Amrita, Jodie Thorpe, Keir Macdonald und Kelbesa Megersa. Linking Business Environment Reform with Gender and Inclusion: A Study of Business Licensing Reform in Indonesia. Institute of Development Studies (IDS), Januar 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/k4d.2021.001.

Annotation:
Business environment reform (BER) targets inadequate business regulations. It is intended to remove constraints to business investment, enabling growth and job creation, and create opportunities for international business to contribute to and benefit from this growth. However, there is a lack of detailed knowledge of the impact of BER on gender and inclusion (G&I). While a review of existing literature suggests that in general, there is no direct link between BER and G&I, indirect links are likely through the influence of BER on firm performance. Outcomes will be influenced by the differential ways in which women-led firms experience the business environment when compared to their male counterparts, with disparities based on how they are treated under the law, as well as structural and sociocultural factors. The fact that in many countries, female-led firms are fewer and smaller than those of their male counterparts, and may operate in different sectors, also affects these dynamics. This research offers new insights through an in-depth analysis of the impact of the Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu (PTSP) or one-stop shop business licensing reform in 2009 on firm performance in Indonesia, and how these impacts vary based on the gender of firm leadership. The results find that on average, firms benefited from improved business performance (sales), as a direct or indirect effect of this reform, as well as an increase in the number of medium and large-scale firms. Outside Jakarta (Bali, Banten, Lampung), women-led firms experienced a small but significant benefit relative to male-led firms, related to both sales and the number of medium and large-scale firms they run. In Jakarta, women-led firms continued to lag behind men and there were no significant effects on employment, and this held across province and gender. These findings are based on an analysis of the PTSP reform using data from the World Bank Enterprise Survey (WBES), a survey of small, medium and large firms (i.e. with more than four employees) which took place in Indonesia between 2009 and 2015.
