Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn the multivariate model where the variables are strongly correlated, a covariance analysis (ANCOVA) is strongly advisable. The classical ANCOVA method may be used only if the covariate is not affected by the treatments in the experiment. F. Smith (1957) illustrated the case of an ANCOVA with covariate affected by treatments that lead to erroneous conclusions. We proposed some generalized ANCOVA methods. Three methods are explained. The first two are used for study of colza-oil cake in avicol feeding, with experimental data from INRA. The third concerning statistical synthesis has been presented only from a theoretical point of view. The introduction of a new food for animals can be less adaptable because of the lack of animal appetite as regards to the new food. To increase the efficiency of the experiments we propose amodelization of the progressive dosage in animal feeding, using the confidence simultaneous inter-vals of the comparisons "treatments- control" with optimal allocations of treatments and control of the development of experiment
Hoang, Vu Ly. „Three essays on the relationship between trust and credit availability“. Electronic Thesis or Diss., Université de Lille (2022-....), 2024. http://www.theses.fr/2024ULILD010.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe thesis studies the influences of generalized trust on relationship lending, bank organizational structure, credit availability and borrower discouragement. To do so, we pose the following three research questions. The first one is “What is a link between generalized trust and relationship lending?”. The second is “Does generalized trust induce a more decentralized or centralized bank structure? and the last is “Does generalized trust, defined at the level of the region in which the firm operates, have an influence, on the one hand, on the availability of credit and, on the other hand, on borrower discouragement?”. To get the interesting findings, we use various datasets, namely our own survey in Vietnam, the three different surveys of the EBRD (BEPS II, LITS II and BEEPS VI), World Values Survey (WVS) Joint 2017-2020, Bankscope and ORBIS of the Bureau van Dijk. Our first key result is that generalized trust and relationship lending are substitutes in the sense that strong trust sees less use of relationship lending. The reason is that relationship lending has costs (i.e. time to build up). Firms might find relationship lending costly while strong trust helps mitigate information asymmetries. If firms already had bank loans, the costs of relationship lending were paid and therefore the substitute link is statistically weaker. The second finding is when the bank's area of operations has a high (resp. low) level of generalized trust, it adopts a centralized (resp. decentralized) organizational structure. This is due to when generalized trust is strong, information can be transmitted easily across hierarchical layers of the bank. The third one is that when generalized trust is strong, firms are more likely to access bank credit and less likely to be discouraged from applying for bank loans. It is because trust helps mitigate information asymmetries

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIn reliability and survival analysis, distributions that have a unimodalor $\cap-$shape hazard rate function are not too many, they include: the inverse Gaussian,log-normal, log-logistic, Birnbaum-Saunders, exponential Weibull and power generalized Weibulldistributions. In this thesis, we develop the modified Chi-squared tests for these distributions, and we give a comparative study between the inverse Gaussian distribution and the otherdistributions, then we realize simulations. We also construct the AFT model based on the inverseGaussian distribution and redundant systems based on distributions having a unimodal hazard ratefunction
Savoie, Louis-Philippe. „Faire confiance au gouvernement? : évaluation des caractéristiques individuelles, étatiques et sociales qui sont liées à la confiance envers le gouvernement“. Thèse, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/1866/11086.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleTrust in government is a hotly debated topic in public discourse as well as the scientific literature. It is, however, an unclear notion, although a few theoretical innovations have helped refine the concept since its inception as system support by David Easton. This literature review examines current trends in study of trust in democratic governments. I define trust in government as a relational concept that is relatively stable through time. This thesis identifies 26 factors that are linked to trust in government in three categories: individual, state and social characteristics. I demonstrate that cultural explanations better explain variations in trust in government than economic approaches at all scales. However, young democracies have a different profile, in which economic approaches have a slightly bigger role.
Medeiros, Mike. „The importance of language : the impact of linguistic vitality on intergroup tensions“. Thèse, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/1866/11675.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis dissertation seeks to add to the understanding of ethnic tensions. It does so by exploring in a four-part study one of its most important but severely overlooked features: language. Combining research traditions from sociolinguistics, social psychology and political science, this dissertation provides an in depth analysis of language’s influence on intergroup relations. It does so, specifically, by concentrating on the influence that linguistic vitality, the social health of a language, has on social tensions. This dissertation puts forward a theoretical framework in which linguistic vitality is presented as fueling cultural grievances, which subsequently impact intergroup relations. The first article explores the general macro-social relationship between linguistic vitality and intergroup conflict intensity. Using data from UNESCO’s Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger and from the Minorities at Risk (MAR) project, the results show a curvilinear relationship in which low and high levels of linguistic vitality generate lower conflict intensity than moderate vitality levels. The findings support linguistic vitality as being an important determinant of language-based ethnic tensions in a general manner, but even more so for countries with multiple linguistic minorities. The second article explores the influence of linguistic vitality on political trust. The results of the analyses, using survey data from the European Social Survey (ESS) and linguistic vitality data from UNESCO’s Atlas of the World’s Languages in Danger, show that linguistic vitality positively influences trust in national institutions and that perceptions of linguistic discrimination decrease political trust. The findings further indicate that the status of a language, how ‘official’ it is, also positively affects trust in national institutions. Therefore, language is clearly underscored as being an important dimension of political trust. The third article seeks to isolate the socio-psychological sequence which connects linguistic vitality and intergroup tensions. Original survey data was gathered from Francophones in Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Manitoba. The findings, using stepwise regression analyses, support a socio-psychological sequence in which in-group threat influences attitudes towards the out-group through the mediation of perceived threat caused by the out-group. Thus, these findings emphasize the importance of linguistic vitality perceptions on intergroup attitudes The fourth, and final, article, in collaboration with Patrick Fournier and Verònica Benet-Martínez, uses an experimental design to ascertain the causal role of linguistic vitality on intergroup attitudes. The results demonstrate that the type of information, positive or negative, on linguistic vitality influences perceptions of threat towards a language. However, results about linguistic vitality information’s impact on out-group attitudes, support for sovereignty and subjective identity were less one-sided. This dissertation permits to shine new light on group tensions by highlighting the important role that linguistic vitality plays on macro-social phenomena and micro-individual attitudes.
Mounier, Antoine. „Le contrôle parlementaire des affaires européennes : quelle influence sur les attitudes envers l’UE?“ Thesis, 2021. http://hdl.handle.net/1866/25629.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe oversight of national parliaments over European affairs has recently received a great deal of attention, both from institutions of the European Union (EU) and from authors contributing to the literature on the democratic deficit. However, while several studies have shown how this control could contribute positively to the media coverage of European issues or to the transposition of directives, its role on citizens' attitudes is often postulated and has so far not been demonstrated. By mobilizing data from the Observatory of National Parliaments after Lisbon (OPAL) project collected between 2010 and 2012, this study adopts a quantitative methodology with the ambition of measuring the influence that parliamentary oversight over European affairs could have in shaping attitudes towards the EU. Since attitudes towards the national and European level are closely linked, I first demonstrated that parliamentary oversight helps to build confidence in the national parliament. Regarding the European level, the results indicate that parliamentary control seems to have an antagonistic effect on trust in the EU; on the one hand, the institutional capacity of parliaments have a positive effect, and on the other hand, the parliamentary activity has a negative effect. This research, although exploratory and therefore preliminary, thus lays the foundations for a better understanding of the role that national parliaments could potentially play in shaping attitudes towards the EU.
Leggett-Dubé, Justine. „Les dispositifs d’aide à la consommation : une analyse qui prend compte des obstacles à la rationalité dans l’évaluation des biens de consommation“. Thèse, 2012. http://hdl.handle.net/1866/11061.
Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis research project aims at exploring the role of design within the act of purchasing and rating products. This premise is based on the fact that design is an obstacle to an individual’s rationality when choosing goods because they are multidimensional and of uncertain quality, as proposed by Lucien Karpik. This creates a difficulty faced by consumers when trying to find comparable products on the market. The research hypothesis of this project suggests that design is an obstacle to reason by offering multidimensional products to consumers. It then becomes harder for them to evaluate singular products available on the market, and to make wise consumption choices. One of the aims of design is to offer users freedom of choice, but this dynamic and economic role of design can also lead to confusion, where consumers become blinded by the abundance of choices. In this sense, design would be the keystone of a singularity-based economy. Five product rating projects were observed on a two-year period within two agencies involved in producing consumption aid devices by using an ethnological approach. The conclusion of this study has shown that some improvements could be made to the product rating processes, particularly for the facts that have not been accounted for in the actual consumption aid devices, such as user-centered product ratings based on user scenarios instead of object-centered product ratings, as well as considering user experience in product evaluation.
