The aim of this article is to illustrate the importance of the concept “mystery” in the classification of Sepedi detective stories. Mystery is therefore first defined, and then some rules governing how mystery is created and sustained in a narrative are reviewed. Examples are given of how the writers of Sepedi detective stories mislead their readers in order to create mystery. Mystery is then examined according to five of its constituent elements, namely the real character of the detective, the name of the criminal, the identity of the victim, the evidence that reveals the mystery in the end, and the investigation that reveals the mystery. Each category is explored by citing relevant examples from Sepedi detective stories.

Purpose: This paper is trying to show that the meaning of the sign has become a kind of mystery and has not yet been analyzed in a convincing way. Theoretical Framework: In this article, a model will be mentioned that can turn this mystery into a problem and then propose a solution for this problem. This article has theoretical aspect, and proceeds with a hypothesis that can maintain its efficiency for all kinds of signs. Result and Discussion: In this article, the author tried to explained three hypotheses. First, all the sentences that form in linguistic context will perceive based on sentence or sentences from background knowledge combined with sentences from situational context and the message. Second, the concept of unites in sentence shapes by proposition. Third, the assumption introduced in this article expand in all kinds of signs, whether symbol, icon or index. In another word, the concept of sign, from whatever kinds, forms by some sentences. Value/Originality: Each sign, from whatever kind, must signify something other than itself. This signification process links the form of a sign to its meaning and involved us in a problem that has always been taken for granted. What is taken for granted in the meantime is the ‘meaning’ of the sign, which has never been explicitly investigated.

Unriddling S. Kierkegaard’s pseudonyms is important for interpretation of his philosophical views. That is why the issue of his pseudonyms remains one of the most important problems for historians of philosophy and commentators on Kierkegaard’s works. This paper analyses various points of view on the reasons for Kierkegaard’s use of pseudonyms in his philosophical works. Among the opinions of various philosophers presented in the article, key hypotheses can be distinguished viewing pseudonyms as the following: literary characters; Kierkegaard’s experiment; a search for self-identification; understanding the past; an alternative to Hegel’s The Phenomenology of Spirit; alternative forms of human existence; roles played by S. Kierkegaard, who is also the author of these plays; demonstration of representative figures showing the boundaries of forms of human existence; a way to overcome loneliness; means of indirect communication; dissociation of Kierkegaard’s personality. The author believes that the concept of conceptual persona (or character) used by Deleuze and F. Guattari allows us to reveal the “secret” of Kierkegaard’s pseudonyms, since this concept demonstrates the complexity and multidimensionality of pseudonyms. Applying the concept of conceptual persona is relevant since pseudonyms have the same properties as conceptual personae: 1) like conceptual personae, pseudonyms are autonomous from their creator and express their own worldview; 2) dialogism, intrinsic to them, allows them to reveal through dialogue the idea embodied in a pseudonym; 3) among the pseudonyms there are no sympathetic pseudonyms expressing the author’s point of view or antipathetic pseudonyms opposing the author; 4) like conceptual personae, pseudonyms form a plane of immanence; 5) pseudonyms are not identical to a social role or the concept of literary character.

Abstract This article contrasts the accounts of mystery used to combat idolatry found in the theology of Karl Barth and in contemporary apophatic theology. It describes Barth’s account of mystery as distinctly Protestant in its soteriological nature and basis in contrast to recent apophatic accounts of mystery based on the doctrine of creatio ex nihilo. These divergent theologies of mystery—as either light or darkness based on different dogmatic res—ultimately reveal contrasting commitments in the doctrine of God. For both, Jesus Christ is the light of God’s gracious revelation. However, the movement in apophatic theology is from the light of Christ to the mystery of divine darkness, while in Barth’s theology Jesus Christ is the luminous mystery of God that dispels the Deus absconditus. This article argues that idolatry is better counteracted by Barth’s positive concept that mystery is grace and filled with content in Jesus Christ.

This research explores the legal implications of the widespread online practice of buying and selling mystery boxes, acknowledged as commonplace by consumers and businesses. The aim is to analyze the legal consequences of mystery box buying and selling contracts on several popular marketplaces among the millennial generation. Despite the unclear nature of the transaction's object, buyers are prepared and understand the contents of the mystery box. The study employs a normative legal approach with analytical descriptive methods. The findings conclude that transactions involving mystery boxes are considered fasid contracts due to their failure to meet the prerequisites for a valid bai' as-salam contract. This deficiency includes the absence of clarity in the object's value, certainty, existence, transferability, mutual knowledge, and exemption from maysir and gharar. Furthermore, the consumer's proclamation as a mystery box buyer is deemed inconsistent with the interāḍin concept outlined in Surah An-Nisa verse 29, which emphasizes the necessity of clear specifications for goods to avoid speculation. The study also highlights the potential for sellers to exploit the mystery box concept as an opportunity to conceal deficiencies in the items being sold.Penelitian ini didasarkan pada realitas sosial menjamurnya praktik jual beli kotak misteri secara online dan dianggap biasa oleh para konsumen dan pelaku usaha. Penelitian ini mengkaji konsekuensi hukum jual beli kotak misteri online yang umum diakui oleh konsumen dan pelaku usaha. Tujuannya adalah menganalisis akibat hukum kontrak jual beli kotak misteri di beberapa marketplace populer di kalangan generasi milenial. Meskipun objek transaksi belum jelas, pembeli sudah siap dan memahami isi kotak misteri. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan hukum normatif dengan metode deskriptif analitik. Hasilnya menyimpulkan bahwa transaksi jual beli kotak misteri dianggap sebagai akad fasid karena tidak memenuhi syarat keabsahan akad bai’ as-salam. Pemakluman konsumen sebagai pembeli kotak misteri dianggap tidak sesuai dengan konsep antarāḍin pada Surah An-Nisa ayat 29 yang menekankan kejelasan spesifikasi barang untuk menghindari spekulasi. Studi ini juga menyoroti bahwa konsep kotak misteri dapat dimanfaatkan penjual untuk menyembunyikan kekurangan barang.

Starting from the difficulties in the reception of the Council’s teaching on the liturgy and its implementation, this article points to the need to discover the paschal mystery of Christ in the Eucharist. Because of the biblical and patristic-liturgical renewal and the re-emphasis on “mystery” in the twentieth century, the article introduces the concept of mystery in pagan cults and in the Church of the first centuries. The second part of the article, based John Paul II’s teaching on the Eucharist, shows the spiritual attitude towards the paschal mystery of Christ in the celebration of the Eucharist and considers the components of this attitude. At the same time, he takes into account signs and symbols and their functions in the interiorization of this mystery.

Introduction. The article is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic means expressing the concept of «mystery» in the fictional works of J. Lippard and N. Buntline, the allocation of its socio-cultural component and the field model construction of lexical units representing this concept. The relevance of the research is due to the interest of modern linguistics in the study of the conceptual sphere of artistic works of the «urban mysteries» genre by American authors.Methodology and sources. The study was conducted within the framework of a linguistic and cultural approach using methods of description, comparison, interpretative analysis, conceptual analysis, the method of dictionary definitions analyzing, structural and semantic analysis, and the method of quantitative calculations. The illustrative material of the study consisted of more than 74 lexical units representing the «mystery» concept in the language, 45 of which were found in the analyzed works. The material was obtained by the method of directed sampling from the fictional works of American authors of the 19th century.Results and discussion. This article discusses and analyzes various interpretations of the concept of «mystery» by domestic and foreign scientists; defines the role of the concept in the work of fiction as a whole and in the analyzed novels of two authors J. lippard and N. Buntline; identifies the features of the linguistic implementation of the «mystery» concept; classifies the linguistic units of the concept according to their parts of speech, semantics and stylistic coloring; analyzes the writers’ linguistic pictures of the world and the conceptual sphere of their works, the illustrative zone of which reveals the reasons for the similarity not only of the storylines of the works, but also of their lexical content.Conclusion. The study made it possible to describe and illustrate the individual style of American authors of the 19th century through a system of expressive means that correlates the inner world of the writer with the artistic reality, the artistic world of the text created by the «poetic» language. The mental world can be interpreted in cognitive terminology as an individual poetic conceptual sphere, or the conceptual system of the author, consisting of a conceptual, objective, associative, figurative and symbolic layer of the concept. The study showed that the learning of the writer's linguistic picture of the world and the conceptual sphere of the work can be carried out using a field model, analyzing the LSF forming the «mystery» concept. The analyzed LSF is distinguished by a more specific vocabulary composition, the complication of the seme structure of words, the seme expansion and the restructuring of their hierarchy, which together form the artistic worldview of the authors.

Lucian Blaga (May 9, 1895 – May 6, 1961) is a Romanian philosopher of knowledge, history and anthropology with a “metaphysical vision of the totality of existence” (as he explains in 1938, aged 43, in his work entitled The Sketch of a Philosophical Self-Presentation) was influenced since his youth by Kant, Schopenhauer, Bergson, in structuring his antireductionist and anti-positivist perspective in philosophy. The main concepts of his philosophical system are the mystery, the style, the culture, the metaphysical and creative being, the Great Anonymous, the unconscious and the abyssal categories. We are going to address here mainly the historicity of the human being and the concept of mystery. This philosophical investigation is guided by the metaphysical principle, the problem of mystery and the problem of style, correlated in specific manners with the concept of a creative human being destined for mystery and capable of knowledge, dynamic, as well historical as spiritual, becoming onto being. The study addresses briefly the similarities and differences of the philosophical categories employed by Lucian Blaga against the Kantian categories. Also, we approach the relation of Lucian Blaga’s philosophy to Rortian philosophy and to certain ideas expressed by Michael Polanyi. The thesis of this paper is the idea that human expression overlaps human existence (and historicity), with her manifestations of knowledge through creativity; fashioned by the “stylistic matrix”, generated by the “abyssal categories,” with “ontological functions” correlated to the structure of the unconscious human spirit. Although not a personalist, Lucian Blaga emphasizes to such an extent the ontological difference of spiritual and creative nature between the human beings and other beings, that the perspective described is close to the area of personalist studies.

It’ also clear that of the fundamental attributes of the Trinity is that it is about relationship between those three, and with us. Augustine always struggled with the concept of Trinity. It was another complexity that he faced with apart from good and evil. He was a man who pursued till he got a clear answer for his complex issues of understanding of various topics.

The concept of Utopia that exist in three Jiro Akagawa’s Japanese contemporary novel, described the condition of Japan society nowadays. In the relationship concept that relies on hierarchy and closeness relationship between persona in Japan, Akagawa tried to think out of the box. Akagawa’s novel is a mystery novel focusing on society, mostly about the characteristic that influenced by the Uchi and Soto concept. These concepts made Japan society divided into ”inner group” and ”outer group”. Also, this concept made the Japan society not very active in making a relationship outside her/him self. In the style of Akagawa’s satire, he described this idea in his novels to convey the message to the reader.

This article provides an overview of the Algonquian manitow concept. Manitow is often translated as spirit, god or mythical being, but reflects more complex and culturally grounded ideas about power in animist ontologies. The article suggests that manitow should be translated with care, with attention to a range of meanings. The authors refer primarily to Cree examples from Alberta, Canada, but also take a broader view to consider examples from other Algonquian contexts. Beginning with a discussion of definitions, the article then turns to the concept’s theoretical career. The article provides data on the contemporary dynamics of the manitow in the context of Cree religious pluralism, as well as on the emplacement of manitow relations through toponymy, particularly as seen around lakes named manitow sâkahikan.

Phenomenology and theology continue to induce interdisciplinary analysis of selfhood and spiritual experience. In what follows, I discuss minimalist and maximalist phenomenologies. The latter opens up space for phenomenology to be informed by the theological concept of mystery. A maximalist phenomenology makes possible a particular variety of selfhood, what I call the dilated or middle-voiced subject, which belongs neither to pure passivity of recent French phenomenology nor to the strong agency of Cartesian and Kantian legacies. Such a middle-voiced structure facilitates the given to be received in the act of dilation or expansion of the self. The final section discusses the implications this may hold for spiritual experience.

Abstract In the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, it was often held that ancient mystery cults were ‘religions of salvation’ (Erlösungsreligionen). Such interpretations have been criticised by Walter Burkert in Ancient Mystery Cults (1987), who argued against the other-worldly character of Greek mysteries. Burkert’s work remains one of the most important studies of mystery cults today; nevertheless it does not examine the actual use of the Greek word soteria (‘salvation’, ‘deliverance’, ‘safety’), which is central for determining whether Greek mystery cults were indeed ‘Erlösungsreligionen’. This article investigates the extent to which Greek mystery cults could offer soteria (‘salvation’) in the eschatological sense. By examining the language of soteria in the best-known mystery cults in ancient Greece, it will ask whether Greek eschatological hopes were ever expressed in the language of soteria or in other terms. It will be demonstrated that, even when used in relation to mysteries, soteria did not mean anything other than protection in the here-and-now, so that what was offered was predominantly a this-worldly ‘salvation’. If early Christianity indeed derived its most important concept (soteria) from Greek religion, it was a derivation with a significant adaptation and change in meaning.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to share how the concept of organizational justice could help to explore employee satisfaction with the mystery shopping appraisal system. Design/methodology/approach The research was conducted at a fast-food restaurant chain located in Russia. Data were collected through an online-questionnaire distributed among all 516 chef-cashiers of the 86 restaurants of the chain located in Saint Petersburg. The questionnaire consisted of 17 closed-ended and one open-ended questions. Findings Violations of norms of procedural, distributive, and informational justice were identified. The majority of the chief-cashiers thought that the norms of interpersonal justice were met. Practical implications The paper also discusses how training and development professionals could use the concept of organizational justice to improve employee satisfaction with a mystery shopping appraisal process. The results collected through the questionnaire can be used in at least two ways: to implement structural changes in the process and to determine and address training needs of three groups of employees. Originality/value Perceptions of organizational justice predict employee satisfaction with different aspects of a performance appraisal system. This paper is first to explore how the concept of organizational justice could be useful in evaluating employee satisfaction with such performance appraisal method as mystery shopping.

The mystery box business involves buying and selling online. The items sold in mystery box products vary. In general, this purchase implies a surprising thought, so that the buyer in particular is not aware of the contents of the mystery box, but can only determine the type of product. Shopee is a platform that sells mystery box products and is currently popular among the public. Different from ordinary buying and selling, this buying and selling arouses the interest of buyers because this business is considered truly unique and profitable, but many buyers still regret it and feel they have been disadvantaged. This is because the seller does not declare the goods inside and therefore the goods received cannot be returned. In this research, the problem formulation is how the concept and practice of mystery box buying and selling transactions sold on Shopee and how mystery box buying and selling transactions on Shopee are reviewed from Islamic law. The author uses descriptive analysis research methods with actions based on quality. Data was collected through literature study. The research results show that the law of buying and selling mystery boxes is haram, because the buying and selling of mystery boxes on Shopee is effectively canceled based on the terms of the Ba'i Salam Agreement because one of the Ba'i Salam conditions, namely the privileges and types of goods, are not met. And such transactions are also included in buying and selling gharar.

Since Vatican II, the paschal mystery has become the focal point of all liturgy, a development that also has consequences for the Roman Catholic funeral liturgy. Celebrating the funeral in the context of the Eucharist underscores the concept of the paschal mystery very explicitly. Since 2011, a number of factors has led to the funeral liturgy without Eucharist becoming the liturgical norm in Flanders. This paper investigates this shift in light of the funeral liturgy being a memorial of the paschal mystery. It (1) sketches the shift that occurred in the revised funeral rite, (2) presents a detailed study of the new Flemish approach towards the funeral liturgy, using the diocese of Hasselt as an example, and (3) evaluates this new approach to the funeral liturgy, specifically from the perspective of the liturgy as a memorial of the paschal mystery. Finally, some conclusions regarding this case from a liturgical-theological and pastoral point of view are formulated.

The subject of this research is the phenomenon of mystery fiction and its evolution in the context of development of sociocultural project of modernity. The latter is viewed as a complex system, which fundamental principles permeate the entire fabrics of European culture, generating such phenomenon as a mystery fiction plot. The analysis of its varieties deepens the understanding of specificity of modernity and mature of crises that has captured it. Hermeneutic analysis allows going beyond the frames of the narrow-disciplinary analysis of the corresponding texts, allowing to determine the inevident layers within the phenomenon of narration of mystery fiction. The initial methodological point is presented by the concept of V. P. Rudnev, who identified interrelation between the mystery fiction storylines and dominant gnoseological paradigm. The author determines the four levels of narration of mystery fiction: ontological, gnoseological, anthropological, and ethical-normative. The classical (analytical) mystery fiction describes reality commensurable to human reason (ontological level), investigation appears as strict analysis (gnoseological level), detective resembles a “private thinker” who is distant from the society and the crime itself (anthropological level), and a crime is interpreted as a deviation that disturbs harmony of the rational order (ethical-normative level). In this sense, a classical mystery fiction is a reflection of metanarrative of modernity, aimed at building a complete system, and excluding the Other. At the same time, the crisis of the basis of modernity is essentially reflected in metamorphoses of mystery fiction genre. In existential and pragmatic mystery fiction, reality is irrational, and boundaries between the norm and deviation are being diluted. Such situation may be describes as disappointment in metanarrative – in underlines the inability of modern culture to adequately fulfill its fundamental functions. The Other strike roots in the cultural space; however, the space itself exists in accordance with the principles of postmodern anarchy.

In a recent edition of the Schizophrenia Bulletin devoted to negative symptoms, the editor suggested at the beginning of his preface that what he called the “positive–negative symptom distinction” had been introduced into psychiatry only a decade previously (Levine, 1985). Many authors in the same volume seemed to agree with him; at least they did not emphasise any continuity with earlier work. There were a few notable exceptions. Since, for more than 30 years, I have seen the relationship between psychological deficit (cognitive defect, negative syndrome) and the productive (florid, positive) symptoms as lying at the heart of the mystery of schizophrenia, it seemed possible that some account of how that interest arose and developed might still be timely. This is part of the history of the Social Psychiatry Research Unit of the Medical Research Council.

Zoonotic diseases pass between humans and other animals and are a major global health challenge. Lyme disease, SARS, swine flu, and Ebola are all examples of diseases spilling over to humans from other animals. Students may hear about these outbreaks in the news but learn very little about them in the classroom. We describe an activity designed to teach high school or college students about zoonotic disease outbreaks. This case-based lesson also introduces how habitat disruption can lead to far-reaching impacts on livestock and humans, often indirectly. Collaborative problem solving is used to explore the One Health concept and a real-world spillover event involving Hendra virus. Active learning using a “jigsaw” format to model the value of multiple stakeholders engages students in tracing the path of transmission for a pathogen. The scenario and class activity demonstrate how scientists and health professionals routinely work together to figure out the chain of transmission for a novel pathogen and use this information to limit the spread of disease.

The main predicament presented in this article lies in the complexity found in the internal structure of the human being when one searches for key elements that define its essence and uniqueness. The overview begins with empirical research as exemplified in psychology, continues in presenting chosen theories in modern philosophy, with an accent on the phenomenological method, and subsequently puts forward the synthesis of them both in psychotherapy. The last part is dedicated to theology as a distinct way to uncover what the essence of being human is, as based on divine Revelation; the latter is the only one of the presented sciences to be explicitly aware of the source of the mystery at the basis of being human. This article attempts to compare the research end results of chosen approaches by demonstrating their relationship to the most hidden aspects of being human. The analysis is organized around the concept of recognizing and accepting the place of mystery in the understanding of what are the most essential elements in the human being. As a result, psychology is conceptualized as a science that does not allow mystery; theology, however, is found to underline the presence of mystery in relationship to our divine origins.

The article examines the words and the meaning, as well as the dramaturgy of sound in the first edition of the mystery "The Tidings brought by Mary" by Paul Claudel. Understanding the synthesis of verbal and vocal intonation leads the author of the article to discover new ways of solving the problem of stage music in mystery drama by Claudel. The discrete nature of the design of the sound space of the mystery in the first edition represents the concept of separately performed fragments, in which the episodes integrated into the action in liturgical Latin are united by a common spiritual meaning. At the same time, the design of the sound space in the 2nd scene of Act III (the dramatic climax, the sacred space of the mystery) is characterized by novelty. Based on the interaction of theatrical-dramatic and musical structural elements, the composition of the scene is subordinated to the principle of end-to-end, continuous vocal-dramatic development of the action. Conclusions are drawn: during the 1910s, Claudel's idea of music in mystery drama was transformed - instead of musical fragments of an "applied" nature, a new compositional idea of stage music arose. The lyrical intonation of the author's voice is found in the sound space of the work. The mirror of Claudel's mystery reflects the principles of sound design of dramatic productions of traditional Japanese theater (Bunraku, Kabuki, Noh), as well as images of poetry of China and Japan. In the sound of the "The Tidings brought to Mary", the semantic and dramatic functions are performed by the verses of the songs "Oriole sings" and "Margarita, clear May!" performed by children's voices. Claudel's mystery drama formed a new understanding of the universal meaning of the mystery in the twentieth century.

Looking on issues concepts of psychological life in historical aspect it is possible to see huge abundance of ideas regarding this problem. Each epoch has been trying to resolve of the mystery of human psychological life on measure its own time. These researches made the important footstep in our history, without which, it would not be possible far progress in the discovering of the phenomena psychological life

Recent years have seen an increased turning to the “wisdom of the East” when addressing issues on the environment. The risk of misappropriating its tenets in order to make them conform to the Western system is extremely high however. This paper will lay bare the early texts of Daoism so as to disprove claims that Nature is mystical, antithetical to technology, and subservient to human consciousness. It shall argue that Nature not only arises from a non-anthropocentric source in Dao but that this arising takes place across three levels of reality: Dao’s mystery, the cosmogony of the One-and-Many, and the fourfold comprised of Dao, Heaven, Earth, and man. The result is a vision of Nature no longer bound to a singular actuality but one whose presence is felt across an endless range of possibilities as the substantive realization of Dao.

The purpose of the article is to substantiate the hypothetically expressed proposition that Dostoevsky in his work proposed for comprehension and understanding of the problem of man and consciousness such ideas that (and this is the performative potential of his philosophy) received theoretical conceptualization only in the XX-XXI centuries. We are talking primarily about his foreshadowing of philosophical anthropology, hermeneutics and phenomenology. The realization of this goal, framed in the article through the substantiation of the concept of ‘mystery’ as a category of philosophical anthropology, and the comprehension of Dostoevsky’s work in the context of the ideas of modern philosophy, are the novelty of the article. We argue that Dostoevsky supplemented the categorical apparatus of philosophy with the concept of mystery, foreseeing the specifics of the language of description, which became relevant to the specifics of modern philosophical and anthropological discoveries and socio-ontological constructions. The research methods of the designated topic are dictated by the target setting. With the help of the comparative method, we demonstrate the relationship between the provisions of these modern philosophical trends with the provisions expressed in the literary and philosophical form by Dostoevsky. The comparison shows the historical cultivation of anthropological content in the hermeneutic-phenomenological direction of the study of consciousness, which in Dostoevsky’s works manifested itself in all the complexity of its own structure, not reduced only to reason and intellect. In addition, we reveal the phenomenon of unhappy consciousness found in ‘Notes from the Underground’ and make an assumption about intersubjective (pluralistic) idealism, which justifies the uniqueness of a person and the ‘non-fusion’ of his consciousness, which is not amenable to generalizations of logic and does not fit into the laws of nature. Pluralistic idealism is an original metaphysical concept, which Dostoevsky substantiates with his work and within which he finds the definition of man as a mystery. On the way to the development of ‘new horizons’, the article supplements the categorical apparatus of phenomenology, when in the categorical series (‘intentionality’, ‘epoché’, ‘natural attitude’, ‘phenomenological reduction’) a concept appears, expressed in an artistic and figurative form, – ‘mystery’.

The Korean industrialization in this period has been well described by the ‘developmental state’ approach, but the property representation system can reveal the key role of property rights as an institution in the economic take-off, focusing on its incentive function.

Hundreds of billions of dollars have been spent for over three decades in the search for an effective human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) vaccine with no success. There are also at least two other sexually transmitted viruses, for which no vaccine is available, the herpes simplex virus (HSV) and the hepatitis C virus (HCV). Traditional textbook explanatory paradigm of rapid mutation of retroviruses cannot adequately address the unavailability of vaccine for many sexually transmissible viruses, since HSV and HCV are DNA and non-retroviral RNA viruses, respectively, whereas effective vaccine for the horsefly-transmitted retroviral cousin of HIV, equine infectious anemia virus (EIAV), was found in 1973. We reported earlier the highly disordered nature of proteins in outer shells of the HIV, HCV, and HSV. Such levels of disorder are completely absent among the classical viruses, such as smallpox, rabies, yellow fever, and polio viruses, for which efficient vaccines were discovered. This review analyzes the physiology and shell disorder of the various related and non-related viruses to argue that EIAV and the classical viruses need harder shells to survive during harsher conditions of non-sexual transmissions, thus making them vulnerable to antibody detection and neutralization. In contrast, the outer shell of the HIV-1 (with its preferential sexual transmission) is highly disordered, thereby allowing large scale motions of its surface glycoproteins and making it difficult for antibodies to bind to them. The theoretical underpinning of this concept is retrospectively traced to a classical 1920s experiment by the legendary scientist, Oswald Avery. This concept of viral shapeshifting has implications for improved treatment of cancer and infections via immune evasion.

The paper presents the translation concept of the Library Albatross (1921), the most significant project of today’s canonical Serbian modernists and avant-garde writers. This concept is paradigmatic within the modernist creative tendencies and programs between the two world wars. Although Library published only the translation of Poe’s Tales of Mystery and Imagination, the list of announced translations, the paratexts that accompany the Library’s promotional material, and the translation published, allow us to discuss specific translation strategies of Albatross. Albatross translation practice is a template for more comprehensive thinking about poetic innovations of Serbian literature after First World War. Moreover, the Albatross translation platform allows us to consider the concepts of modern/modernism, periphery/center, and world literature in Serbian culture during the twenties.

The paper considers the concept of professionalism, within the UK Further Education (FE) through an analysis of the literature. The paper identifies professionalism as a key feature of the changing landscape within UK FE since the Further and Higher Education Act (1992) which incorporated FE Colleges, allowing them levels of autonomy and discretion not seen before. With it, came new staffing contracts and changes to the expectations of a ‘professionalised’ staff teams. This paper suggests that despite 30 years having passed since incorporation, FE Colleges and their management still struggle with the concept of professionalism and its reality, noting particularly the dysfunctional nature of the sector and its difficulty in having a defined identity.

This article is a critical study of René Latourelle’s concept of revelation who conceives of it as Word, testimony and encounter. The theological thesis that I would like to advance in this article is that, whatever the analogy of God’s revelation, it is always fundamentally rooted in the experience of human openness to the highest value of his/her life in this world. Revelation itself is the analogical word of the most significant human experience in the world. The historical intervention of God is always experienced symbolically and considered plausibly according to the criterion of universal reason. Every understanding of the mystery is a human experience which in its essence is conditioned by the mystery itself. In this sense, it can be said that every concept of revelation is constructed from any interpretative and significant experience of the human being. This fundamental aspect of Christian revelation does not appear in Latourell's theological reflection.

This study analyzes the Consumer Protection Study on the Mystery Box Sale and Purchase Agreement on the Shopee Marketplace viewed from Indonesian Law. This research is a normative legal research using secondary data sources through library research. The results of the study show that the Mystery Box Sale and Purchase Agreement in the Shopee marketplace violates the provisions of Article 1320 of the Civil Code regarding the element of "halal causes", and there are no specific rules regarding the protection of consumers who carry out electronic transactions, so that the rules regarding consumer protection are still referring to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection. In this research, the case will be discussed in a comprehensive manner regarding the concept of a Mystery Box Sale and Purchase agreement and how to protect consumers regarding mystery box buying and selling transactions on the Shopee marketplace. This research is projected as a basis for studying in analyzing similar cases regarding Consumer Protection in Mystery Box Sale and Purchase Agreements on the Shopee Marketplace viewed from Indonesian Law Rules later in the future. The limitation of this research lies in the study using library data sources. In the future, it is hoped that similar research could use this research as a basic reference in conducting research that can obtain concrete data in the field. Thus, it can provide more factual outcomes according to the conditions that occur.

The work of Ludwig Wittgenstein counts among the most significant philosophical influences on Gordon Kaufman's recent theology. Yet important convergences between Kaufman's theological worldview and Wittgenstein's philosophical teaching remain unexplored. In this essay I shall examine a number of such convergences connected with the concept of the human. The thought of Stanley Cavell will play a central role in the discussion. Kaufman shares with the skeptical Wittgenstein revealed in Cavell's writings an abiding concern with the ordinary in human life—for example, everyday language, the human body—but both are interested in this ordinariness as the locus of ineradicable mystery. A richly textured treatment of the ordinary (and mysterious) situation of face-to-face human encounter emerges when relevant passages of Wittgenstein's, Cavell's, and Kaufman's writings are compared. This article will develop some of the implications of this comparison that hold particular promise for theological anthropology. The orientation and concerns of the paper are thus primarily constructive.

Abstract We argue that such trends of modern philosophy as philosophical anthropology, hermeneutics and phenomenology in their ideological origins were born in Russian philosophizing, so that the ideas and images of Dostoevsky’s works have been revealed as their harbinger. More specifically, he supplemented the categorical apparatus of philosophy with the concept of mystery, foreseeing the specifics of descriptive language, which has become relevant to the specifics of modern philosophical and anthropological discoveries and socio-ontological constructions. In addition, we consider the phenomenon of unhappy consciousness found in Notes from the Underground and make an assumption about intersubjective (pluralistic) idealism – an original metaphysical conception, within the framework of which the definition of man as a mystery can be explained.

This paper focuses on the role of the poetics of mystery in the formation of the romantic trag-edy genre. “The Spaniards” by Mikhail Lermontov is considered as a characteristic example of this genre, manifesting “melodramatization” of tragedy and tendency towards genre-generic synthesis. The action of “The Spaniards” is based on events related to the sphere of the mysterious, which are exceptional in life and common in melodrama. Central to the plot is the motif of the loss of a child. The secret of Fernando’s birth and “ignobility” form the con-flict and organize two storylines (love and family) and two (everyday life – melodramatic, and existential – tragic) levels of conflict. Mystery also plays an important role in revealing the inner world and expressing the romantic ideal of the hero. The ability to comprehend the mysterious, to pass beyond human experience and logic is not only the motivation of his ac-tions, but it also connects the hero with the ideal sphere. The study examines how the charac-ters’ anticipation of the “terrible” motivates their moral choices. Analyzing the interaction of lyrical motifs, the author suggests the motif of mystery as important for implementing the main (tragic) conflict, unlike melodrama, where the functions of mystery are plot-forming, stimulating the spectator’s interest and maximizing the dramatic tension. Mystery in the plot and the lyrical concept of the tragedy contributes to the understanding of the essence of the romantic conflict, has a suggestive impact on the audience, and deepens the psychologism.

The philosophical, psychological and sociological analysis of the Christian symbol of the Revelation is for the first time in the Ukrainian humanities carried out in the study. Understanding Revelation based on scientific concepts is a very complex problem, however, it is clear that its cause is the lack of the necessary methodology, ignoring the leading trend of world history and spirit i.e. the struggle of impersonal and personal principles of social being. It is proposed to base the study on the concept of four stages of human spiritual development: dependent personality, mediocre personality, mature personality, genius. With the help of Revelation, Christianity rethought the philosophical meaning of the concept of “truth”, which concerned not the material world, but the inner qualities of man. Christianity has come to the conclusion that the question “Who is the truth” is more important to man than the question “What is the truth?” Lack of a philosophical answer to the question “Who is the truth”? led to the dominance of the value judgment “every person is an individual”, which became the philosophical basis of the depersonalized paradigm of human being. Revelation appears as a way out of impersonal being into personal (transcendent), overcoming the fear of personal being, the birth of a spiritual principle in man and as a symbolic beginning of a new – personal – paradigm of being, when the highest values are self-actualization, self-realization and related work. Revelation is not only the birth of a person from an egocentric person, but it is a recognition of the significance of a person in another person. The reasons that prevent the scholars from revealing the meaning of Revelation are analyzed – the mechanisms of psychological protection and fear of personal being. Ignoring the leading trend of the world spirit (the struggle of the impersonal and the personal) and the concept of the four stages of spiritual development of man has led to a decrease in the critical mass of individuals in the human community. Failure to recognize the importance of the idea of personal existence is a crucial ideological cause of the existential vacuum, mental epidemics in the form of hybrid wars, global terrorism and violence against both human nature and nature in general. The modern apocalypse – an anthropological-global catastrophe – is the result of a crisis of impersonal existence and the priority of the material over the spiritual, which is realized by the mediocre person. It is proved that the proposed metaphysical theory of personality meets modern global challenges, opens opportunities for philosophical, psychological and sociological understanding of the causes of the crisis in Ukrainian society and in the human community. It is substantiated that the ideological basis for overcoming the crisis of impersonal existence is the assertion of the priority of the spiritual over the material, the adoption of the ideological law “Personality is the basis of being” and changing the form of determination. Determination of the present must be replaced by determination of the future.

There are numerous materials and substances that the ancient alchemists used as their raw material. One of these is the egg, which has an emblematic or symbolic significance since the first Greek alchemical texts. In this sense, it is worth mention three: Λεξικὸν κατὰ στοιχεῖον τῆς Χρυσοποιίας (Alphabetical Lexicon of the Crisopea), Περὶ τοῦ ὠοῦ οἱ παλαιοί φασιν οὕτως (What the ancients say about the egg) andὈνοματοποΐα τοῦ ὠοῦ・ αὐτὸ γάρ ἐστιν τὸ μυστήριον τῆς τέχνης (The nomenclature of the egg: this is the mystery of art). We can view Janusz Korczak’s concept of “deciphering hieroglyphs” as an imperative for us to leave our own conceptual world and become open to the mystery and “Otherness” of the other. According to Emmanuel Levinas, the relationship with another person is also a mystery that escapes all definitions and demands attitudes to be revised—in order for there to be a readiness to be open to that Otherness. Such openness is a kind of hermeneutical approach and a particular interpretation which is the polar opposite of analytical cognition. Levinas and Ouaknin call this interpretation a “caress”, which is the subject’s way of being when confronted with the Other. There is evidence to suggest that Korczak’s approach to children and the role of the educator are very similar to Levinas’ idea of “caress”.

Current orthodoxy in ‘consciousness studies’ has it that the key to understanding the concept of consciousness is to grasp the idea of qualia. But the appearance of mystery here is the product of conceptual confusion. There is nothing to ‘the qualitative character of experience’ beyond the individual character of a specific experience and how the subject felt in undergoing it, and here there are no mysteries beyond empirical ignorance and conceptual mystification.
