The topic "Integration in the community of elderly people with mental disabilities" is an important topic forsocial assistance because at present there are relatively few opportunities for integration or social reintegration of people with mental health problems. If mental illness is treated in specialized institutions - clinics, hospitals and psychiatric wards - where patients receive specialized treatment and counseling, the same cannot be said about the actions of integration or social reintegration of those mentally affected at discharge from these units

Objective Community pharmacists play an important role in providing many essential services to older adult patients. This study aimed to assess participants’ awareness and utilization of current services provided by the community pharmacy and to identify preferences for innovative strategies and services related to healthy aging. Design This is community-based research using interviews with older people in community pharmacies. Student pharmacists performed the interviews, asking 11 questions developed by the research team. The interview questions included services currently provided by the community pharmacy to determine patient awareness and use. Setting One-on-one structured interviews with participants 50 years of age and older were conducted at community pharmacies in Arizona. Results A total of 53 older people (54.7% female) participated, with most patients knowledgeable about current pharmacy services and 69.7% using at least one service. When asked if they would participate in innovative services, more than half of those interviewed (56.6%) were interested in medication side effect screening and education, and 54.7% would want to participate in medication review with drug interaction screening. Almost half were interested in lifestyle education for healthy aging in nutrition and physical activities (49.1%) and medication disposal (47.2%). Most participants preferred to communicate in person with their pharmacists, but some showed interest in mobile phone texts and calls. Conclusion Community pharmacies may be a viable setting to provide novel services to promote healthy aging among older people, particularly medication side effect and drug interaction screenings and education.

The article draws on Achaemenid royal inscriptions in a postcolonial investigation of Ezra-Nehemiah’s portrayal of the community of immigrants from Babylon. The book presents the community’s identity as a hybrid of the way imperial hegemony portrays the colonized who live in the Persian Empire and of aspects of the community’s own Judean heritage that is strongly influenced by Yahwism. In Ezra 1–6, the community is portrayed as a group of colonists sent from the imperial center by the king, but, in these chapters, loyalty to the king amounts to loyalty to Yhwh, since it is the community’s God who commands the Persian king to act. In Ezra 7-Nehemiah 13, however, this loyal group of colonizers becomes a colonized people disloyal to their God and king. These chapters present the community as a group who has ceased to be the loyal imperial subjects of Ezra 1–6 and who have declined to the state of their ancestors, congenitally unable to keep Yahwistic and Persian law, and thereby justifying the colonized state of the community and imperial exploitation of its resources. In this section of the narrative, the community is just what Persian hegemony defines its colonized peoples to be: They are a group of “slaves” to the Persians, and rely utterly on individuals commissioned by the Persian king and sent from the center of the empire – that is, Ezra and Nehemiah – to lead them and to keep them loyal to their God and, therefore, a loyal colonized people to Persia.

There are few empirical studies about the role of Aboriginal sporting organisations in promoting wellbeing. The aim of the present study was to understand the impact of an Aboriginal community sporting team and its environment on the social, emotional and physical wellbeing of young Aboriginal men, and to identify barriers and motivators for participation. A literature review of the impact of sport on the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal participants was conducted. This informed a qualitative study design with a grounded theory approach. Four semistructured interviews and three focus groups were completed with nine current players and five past players of the Fitzroy Stars Football Club to collect data about the social, emotional and physical wellbeing impact of an Aboriginal football team on its Aboriginal players. Results of the interviews were consistent with the literature, with common concepts emerging around community connection, cultural values and identity, health, values, racism and discrimination. However, the interviews provided further detail around the significance of cultural values and community connection for Aboriginal people. The complex nature of social connections and the strength of Aboriginal community networks in sports settings were also evident. Social reasons were just as important as individual health reasons for participation. Social and community connection is an important mechanism for maintaining and strengthening cultural values and identity. Barriers and motivators for participation in Aboriginal sports teams can be complex and interrelated. Aboriginal sports teams have the potential to have a profound impact on the health of Aboriginal people, especially its players, by fostering a safe and culturally strengthening environment and encompassing a significant positive social hub for the Aboriginal community.

Abstract: The longstanding effort to develop a people-based regionalism in Southeast Asia has been shaped by an inherent tension between the liberal inclination to privilege the individual and the community under formation, on the one hand, and the realist insistence on the primacy of the state, on the other. This article explores the conditions and constraints affecting ASEAN’s progress in remaking Southeast Asia into a people-focused and caring community in three areas: disaster management, development, and democratization (understood here as human rights). Arguably, the persistent gap in Southeast Asia between aspiration and expectation is determined less by political ideology than by the pragmatic responses of ASEAN member states to the forces of nationalism and protectionism, as well as their respective sense of local and regional responsibility.
