This study aims to determine the management of information systems, supporting and inhibiting factors in the acceptance of new students at the Puteri Khadijah Islamic Boarding School Pamekasan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type of research. Data obtained from observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that first, in managing the information system for admitting new students at the Islamic boarding school, they planned by forming a committee, determining the opening and closing dates, the conditions that must be met, providing website-based forms, and file deposits and evaluating each process carried out. This has been done directly or in writing, after the entire program has been carried out with the evaluation, of course, to find out what is still lacking from the performance to the new student admissions committee then corrected in the future. Second, the supporting factors are the guidance from the caregivers, the direction from the coaches, and also the cooperation of the New Santri Admission committee, completeness of facilities, and infrastructure. The inhibiting factor is the lack of communication between fellow New Santri Admission committees

ABSTRACT Background The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is designed to inform members of the admissions committee about applicants’ academic readiness for medical school. Although previous work has shown that MCAT scores have some predictive validity evidence for a variety of medical student outcomes, there is also a concern that the MCAT is overly emphasized by admissions committees, which may, for example, affect matriculant diversity. The purpose of this study was to understand whether deemphasizing the MCAT by blinding committee members to applicants’ specific scores has resulted in matriculants with different pre-clerkship and clerkship performance. Method The Admissions Committee from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) created a policy to blind admissions committee members to MCAT scores. The MCAT-blinded policy was implemented for classes of 2022 to 2024. This MCAT-blinded cohort’s performance was compared with a previous cohort, classes of 2018 to 2020. Two analyses of covariance were performed to test for differences in the pre-clerkship and clerkship module scores. Undergraduate grade point average (uGPA) and MCAT percentile for matriculants were included as covariates. Results There were no statistically significant differences in either pre-clerkship or clerkship performance between the MCAT-revealed and MCAT-blinded cohorts. Conclusion This study found similar medical school performance between the MCAT-blinded and MCAT-revealed cohorts. The research team plans to continuously follow these two cohorts to understand their performance further down their education path, including step 1 and step 2 examinations.

This article addresses the responsibility of counseling psychology programs to communicate and implement the professional training values regarding diversity as articulated in the Counseling Psychology Model Training Values Statement Addressing Diversity (henceforth the “Values Statement”) clearly and directly in the advertising and admission process. This will help both applicants and admissions committees assess the best fit between program and applicant and allow for self-selection and committee selection with regard to applicants' aptitude to embody the training values (e.g., self-awareness, openness) specified in the Values Statement. The Values Statement can guide programs in their interview and selection process by providing a framework for assessing applicant readiness to pursue doctoral work in counseling psychology. Current admission practices in counseling psychology are reviewed in the context of the Values Statement. Then a model application review and interview process is described from advertising through selection.

Veterinary admission committees are asked to create and implement a fair, reliable, and valid system to select the candidates most likely to succeed in veterinary school from a large pool of applicants. Although numerous studies have explored grade point average (GPA) as a predictive value of later academic success, there has been little attention paid to how and where an applicant acquires his/her undergraduate coursework. Quality of academic program is an important component of applicant files, and it is suggested that the source of a candidate’s coursework might influence admissions committee decisions, perhaps even outside of the committee’s immediate awareness. Options for undergraduate education include taking classes at a traditional four-year institution, a community college, or online. This study provides an overview of the current state of online courses and community colleges in the US as a foundation to explore the views of veterinary admissions committee members pertaining to coursework completed at traditional residential 4-year schools or at community colleges and whether they are delivered on campus or online (at either type of institution). Survey participants reported a pattern of preference for traditional four-year residential coursework compared to online or community college courses. These results are interesting given the exponential growth of students taking online courses and data showing community colleges are providing a successful gateway to obtaining a four-year degree. This also points to the need for admission committees to discuss potential biases since the information about type of school and/or course may not be consistently available for all applicants. Finally, at a time when admitting a diverse class of students is a goal of many programs, it is of special concern that there are potential biases against courses taken online or from community colleges - venues that tend to draw a more diverse population than traditional 4-year universities.

The New Student Admission Program (PPDB) is an annual program at MTS Miftahul Huda Tegal Sari. Previously, the new student admission process was done manually, requiring physical visits to the school to fill out registration forms and gather information. This was not effective. Therefore, this research has created an online system for new student admissions. Using the waterfall method, data was collected through observations, interviews, and literature studies. The result is a web-based PPDB information system using the CodeIgniter framework, which simplifies the admission process for prospective students and schools. This system is expected to assist the PPDB committee in managing new student data more effectively and efficiently. Information technology-based PPDB has great potential to enhance the management of the student admission process in schools.

Digital transformation is increasingly affecting various areas of higher education. Digital services and tools significantly change the principles of interaction between the admissions committee and the applicant, the teacher and the student, the higher education institution and the regulatory authorities. The process of introducing the super service “Admission to university online”, which began in 2019, was supposed to change the mechanism for submitting applications to universities. It was assumed that applicants would be able to upload the necessary documents to the service and enroll in the selected educational institution without the need for a personal visit. In the future, the super service was supposed to replace traditional forms of filing documents. However, by 2022, the submission of paper documents directly to the university is still the main and most popular mechanism for interaction between the applicant and the admissions committee. This work is a continuation of a study conducted since 2020 at Kazan State Agrarian University, the purpose of which is to identify the main obstacles to the effective use of the superservis “Admission to university online”. The paper presents and compares with last year’s results the data of a newly conducted survey of applicants who visited the university in person. The identified main reasons for refusing to use the digital service are the same, but the share of applicants who used this mechanism for submitting documents to the university is growing. The result of the study was proposals for the university’s admissions committees to more effectively implement digital tools and obtain the necessary competencies when interacting with applicants through superswervis. The proposed activities include the use of educational computer classes to access the super service, online counseling of applicants by university teachers, a chatbot for automatic answers to the most popular questions and the holding of various competitions and quizzes to raise awareness of the possibilities of the super service in social networks and in career guidance work. The authors' proposals should help the admissions committee to increase the level of customer focus and improve the image component of Kazan State Agrarian University.

The main directions of the work of the admission committee are highlighted: organizational and methodological, technological, the actual admission campaign and generalization, as the final stage at which the results of the admission campaign are summed up. The features of each of the directions are highlighted and the IT tools that were used for them are indicated. It is shown that over the past two decades, IT tools have undergone drastic changes, which are associated with an increase in the functionality of the admission committee. Arguments are given in support of the thesis that the solution for automating the management activities of the university, in particular for the admission campaign, over the past years has been a domestic software on the 1C:Enterprise platform — the 1C:University system. The article presents the stage-by-stage coordination of the admission campaign — from planning and forming the required list of documents (application of the applicant, receipt, examination sheets) to processing information about entrance examinations and USE results, forming enrollment orders. It is shown that the 1C:University system occupies an important place in the automation of many processes taking place in the admission office of the university. Online services that are important for the organization of the admission campaign are described.

Objectives The main objective of this study is to conduct qualitative analysis of educational autonomy experiences as ‘parent members of the school governing committee’ in a small-scale high school located in Gangwon-do. Furthermore, the purpose is to discuss an issue of expertise of parent members of small-scale schools in rural areas which was pointed out at the induction of school governing committee. Methods Narrative analysis, one method of qualitative analysis, excels in improving the understanding of a certain experience through the process of narrating one’s own experience and also in adding true voice of the narrator. This study selected two participants with ample experience as parent members of school governing committee and conducted in-depth interview for narrative analysis. Results In many cases, parent committee members who participated in this study tended to concurrently hold additional positions as the board members of the parent committee and their children were either board members of the student council committee or active participants of school activities. Children were the strongest driving force for their parents to participate in school governing committees. However, because of low number of voluntary participation as parent members, they had been ‘elected without voting process’ and it was often the case for them to serve consecutive terms. The participants found their participation fruitful when carrying out agendas related to actual ‘benefits’ for students (school uniforms, school meals, and issues related to college admission of students). The school governing committee was more like an arena of ‘acceptance’ and ‘agreement’ rather than that of competition. Conclusions The study showed that the parent members of school governing committees in small-scaled schools did not lag behind in their understanding of and expertise in educational autonomy. It is necessary for parents and members of school governing committees for schools with strong regional characteristics or those small in size to actively participate in operating the school.

Background: The spread of COVID-19 infection paved way to many admissions into hospitals worldwide exhausting the healthcare systems. A simple test for immediate stratification of risk in patients with infection by COVID 19 virus is important. Aim in this study was to know the prognostic value of neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in determination of the severity of infection in COVID-19 infected patients. Methods: This study was conducted in a tertiary care institute, Mandya. Clearance from Institutional Ethical committee was taken. Data from 108 COVID-19 infected hospitalized patients between April 2021 and June 2021 were collected retrospectively from hospital records. Patients in the study were grouped into two groups as Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Ward (Non ICU) patients, based on admission into ICU. The patient’s demographic characteristics, comorbidities, clinical manifestations, medications used and investigations done initially during admission were noted from the hospital files for both groups. Chi-square test/ Fisher's exact test was used for comparison of categorical outcomes. Statistical significance was noted if P value < 0.05. Results: Of 108 patients, 25 patients (23.15%) had ICU admission. Patients aged >55years had more ICU admission (44%) than non-ICU admissions (22.89%). In patients <55years non-ICU admissions were more (77.11%) compared to ICU admissions (56%). Leukocytosis, neutrophilia, lymphopenia, high CRP values were seen more in patients in ICU than in ward and is significant statistically (p <0.05). High NLR values were seen in patients in ICU than in ward. Chi-square test is significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Increased NLR predicts the severity of infection in patients infected with COVID-19 virus, who will require admission into ICUs. It can be used as a biomarker which can aid in identifying severe COVID 19 infection.

This is the God Squad. It is faceless, impersonal, unmoved by tragedy, almost terrorist in aspect. The photo appeared in LIFE magazine on November 9, 1962, and it depicted the Admissions and Policy Committee of the Seattle Artificial Kidney Center. The Committee had been established in 1962 to select those few persons who would be admitted to the new and tiny dialysis unit that was created by Dr. Belding Scribner, inventor of the arteriovenous shunt. It consisted of seven anonymous members – a minister, a lawyer, a businessman, a homemaker, a labor leader, and two physicians. Each month they received a pile of charts about persons with end-stage renal disease. A prior medical evaluation had rated them all medically suitable for dialysis. The Committee’s task was to select one or two out of a dozen or so to take the available spots. The others were left to die. After several years of this agonizing work, the amendments to the Social Security Act provided financial support for renal dialysis and transplant, allowing the Admission Committee some peace of mind.

Pusan National University School of Medicine (PNUSOM) began analyzing the cohort of pre-medical students admitted in 2015 and has been conducting purposeful analyses for the past 3 years. The aim of this paper is to introduce the process of cohort establishment, cohort composition, and the utilization of cohort analysis results. PNUSOM did not initially form a cohort with a purpose or through a systematic process, but was able to collect longitudinal data on students through the establishment of a Medical Education Information System and an organization that supports medical education. Cohort construction at our university is different in terms of a clear orientation toward research questions, flexibility in cohort composition, and subsequent guideline supplementation. We investigated the relevance of admission factors, performance improvements, satisfaction with the educational environment, and promotion and failure rate in undergraduate students, as well as performance levels and career paths in graduates. The results were presented to the Admissions Committee, Curriculum Committee, Learning Outcomes Committee, and Student Guidance Committee to be used as a basis for innovations and improvements in education. Since cohort studies require long-term efforts, it is necessary to ensure the efficiency of data collection for graduate cohorts, as well as the validity and ethics of the study.

Globally, mental health legislation has been changing and evolving throughout time. Compulsory admission is when patients with mental disorders are admitted to a psychiatric unit against their own will to receive treatment. In Europe, as public attitudes and practices shifted, compulsory admission procedures were reformed to ensure patient rights and safety. Differences however exist for compulsory admission procedures between countries. In 2018, a survey was created and disseminated by the European Psychiatric Association Ethics Committee to National Psychiatric Associations within 40 European countries to learn more about the legislation, key actors involved, and reasons for admission. Results showed that approximately half of the responding countries required an independent medical expert, typically a psychiatrist, to be involved in the procedure. Most countries by law required the involvement of a court-appointed judge in making the decision about compulsory admission and to review the case after a certain period of time. All but one country have time limits on legal decisions for compulsory admission. Further, patients have the right to obtain legal counsel to assist them through the process of appeal or the decision in most countries. The primary reasons for admission were the patient being a danger to themselves or others. Despite continued efforts, stigma still surrounds mental health disorders. Public awareness and increased knowledge are needed to improve the perception of compulsory admissions. Moving forward, it is necessary to create educational courses, as well as written guidelines for key actors, to stimulate good practice and promote voluntary treatment (Wasserman et al. 2020; https://doi.org/10.1192/j.eurpsy.2020.79). Application essays are a commonly used admission instrument for students entering higher education. The quality of the essay is usually scored, but this score is often subjective and has poor interrater reliability due to the unstructured format of the essays. This results in mixed findings on the validity of application essays as an admission instrument. We propose a more objective method of using application essays, using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a text mining method, to distinguish seven moves occurring in application essays written by students who apply to a master degree program. We use the probability that these moves occur in the essay to predict study success in the master. Thereby we answer the following research question: What is the effect of discussing different moves in students’ application essays on the student grades in a master program? From the seven different moves (functional unit of text) we distinguished, five of which have a significant effect on student grades. The moves we labeled as ‘master specific’ and ‘interest to learn’ have a positive effect on student grades, and the moves we labeled as ‘research skills’, ‘societal impact’ and ‘city and university’ have a negative effect. Our interpretation of this finding is that topics related to intrinsic motivation and specific knowledge, as opposed to generic knowledge, are positively related with study success. We thereby demonstrate that application essays can be a valid predictor of study success. This contributes to justifying their use as admission instruments.

ABSTRACT Introduction Delays in the discharging process can affect hospital efficiency. Improving patient flow in acute care hospitals is an essential issue that hospital management and research aim to achieve. Admission volume and LOS for hospitalized patients in the medical specialties department was examined at a tertiary care center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to explore practical approaches to reduce the LOS. We aimed to identify and manage reasons for the delay in discharging patients from the medical specialties department at a tertiary care center in Saudi Arabia. Methods Admission and discharge data for hospitalized patients were collected from 2016–2018. In 2017, a FOCUS (find, organize, clarify, understand, select)–PDSA (plan, do, study, act) quality improvement method was used to improve the discharge processes, with specific measurable targets per year. The number of readmissions and mortality rates decreased significantly after the intervention was implemented, suggesting an improvement in the quality of treatment and the process of admission and discharge. Results Despite gradual increases in admissions from 2016 to 2018, the mean LOS decreased significantly between 2016 and 2018, from 9.16 to 7.47 days (p < 0.001). The number of readmissions and mortality rates decreased after the intervention was implemented in 2017, suggesting an improvement in the process of admission and discharge. Conclusion The LOS can be reduced by implementing a quality improvement intervention, driven by a multidisciplinary committee involving healthcare personnel, to facilitate the optimal discharge mechanism through available hospital resources and services.

Admission of new students is a routine activity carried out by schools every new school year. This activity aims to advance the school so that in its implementation a selection is needed. This selection is carried out in order to achieve a target of achieving the quality of prospective students. In this new student admission, a committee is needed to facilitate the activity. Currently, not many schools in Indonesia have implemented an online admission system. The purpose of this research is to design a web-based new student admission information system "SIPSB" and facilitate the registration of prospective new students to be more efficient. In designing this new student admission information system, the Object Orientred Analysis and Design (OOAD) method and the waterfall model are used. The use of the waterfall model in this study makes it easier for researchers to design information systems because there are several stages in system development, namely requirements analysis, system design, implementation, system testing, and maintenance. The results of this study show that the new student admission information system "SIPSB" is able to manage the web-based new student admission process more efficiently.

Abstract N.K.Y., P.C., & P.R.Y. contributed equally to this study Introduction: Many studies have concluded that active cancer patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 have a more complicated infection course and worse outcomes compared to the general patient population hospitalized with COVID-19. However, little evidence exists whether having a history of cancer plays a significant role in these observations. Patients with hematologic malignancy (HM) might have worse prognosis among all cancer patients but the reason remains unclear. Our objective is to evaluate outcomes and severity of COVID-19 in patients with Hematological Malignancy (HM) versus Solid-tumors (ST) in different clinical settings and also compare these outcomes within the group of patients with hematological malignancies. Methods: This retrospective study examines risk factors and outcomes of COVID-19 in patients with a history of cancer and laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis between March 1 st, 2020, and December 31 st, 2020, at Rush University Medical Center, one of the largest COVID-19 tertiary care hospitals in Chicago. Baseline characteristics, malignancy type and types of cancer treatment within the last 30 days were recorded. Measures of COVID-19 severity included hospital admission versus outpatient care, use of oxygen, intensive care unit (ICU) admission, and mechanical ventilation. The primary outcome was death. Statistical analysis was conducted using optimal discriminant analysis, a non-parametric exact machine-learning algorithm which identifies the relationship between independent and dependent variables that maximizes model predictive accuracy adjusted to remove the effect of chance. Analysis was performed separately for each attribute using the entire sample ("training" analysis), then one-sample jackknife analysis was conducted to estimate cross-generalizability of findings using the model to classify an independent random sample. Results: 378 total patients with a history of cancer tested positive for COVID-19 within the time frame of the study. Of these, 294 (78%) patients had ST malignancy and 84 (22%) patients had HM. Characteristics and outcomes are summarized in Table 1. ST patients were marginally older than HM patients (p<0.025). A significantly greater proportion of HM patients were male (p<0.0023). HM and ST patients did not differ with respect to percentage receiving active cancer treatment (p<0.81). Compared to ST patients, more HM patients had received corticosteroids in the 30 days prior to COVID-19 diagnosis (p<0.017), had higher rates of hospitalization (p<0.0013) and ICU requirement (p<0.0001) with a significantly longer length of ICU stay (p<0.0036). Compared to ST patients, HM patients also required oxygen (p<0.002) and mechanical ventilation (p<0.0005) more often and had a 3.88-fold statistically higher death rate (OR 3.88 [95% CI 1.62-9.29] p<0.003). Patients with HM are categorized by disease subtype and summarized in Table 2. The case fatality rate from COVID-19 was 33.3% for patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms/myelodysplastic syndromes (MPN/MDS), 21.4% for patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), 13.6% for patients with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, 10.5% for patients with plasma cell neoplasms, and 4.5% for patients with acute leukemia. When looking at outcomes, CLL had the highest percentage of patients requiring hospital admission, oxygen, and ICU admission, and MPN/MDS had the highest percentage of patients requiring mechanical ventilation. Conclusions: Patients with hematologic malignancies had more severe COVID-19 illness and hospitalization rates and a 3.88-fold higher rate of death than patients with solid tumors. The comparable proportion of patients on anti-cancer therapy despite differences in survival suggests that being on anti-cancer therapy is less important than the underlying diagnosis of HM versus ST as a determinant of poor outcomes. Clinicians should closely monitor and initiate early COVID-19 treatments for all patients with HM and COVID-19. Because HM are highly heterogenous group of cancers, it is important to look at subtypes in greater detail. Numerous patient-level, disease-specific, and therapy-related factors may impact outcomes of COVID-19 among patients with HM, and we are currently analyzing additional data to better understand the factors which make this disease group more susceptible to severe infection. The American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma requires that trauma centers with greater than 10 per cent injured patients admitted to non-trauma services (NTSs) have processes to review these for appropriateness of care. We previously described an algorithm to determine the appropriateness of NTS admissions. Our objective was to determine if the outcome and process of care was similar between TS- and NTS-admitted patients. We conducted a retrospective analysis of our trauma registry. NTS-appropriate patients by algorithm were included. Differences between patients admitted to a TS and an NTS were compared. Nine hundred forty-one patients met the algorithm criteria as appropriate for the NTS; 694 were admitted to TS and 247 to NTS. Contact with TS was the most common association with admission to TS. NTS patients were older and had similar Injury Severity Scores, and a similar proportion had three or greater pre-existing comorbidities. NTS-admitted patients had similar risk for mortality and complications, but longer length of stay, and were less likely to have a desirable discharge disposition. Minimally injured elderly patients constitute most of NTS and a large proportion of TS admissions. NTS admission seems appropriate with respect to mortality and complications. Differences in the care process may have accounted for longer length of stay and differences in disposition destination.

Objective:To investigate whether admission hyperglycemia predicts poststroke infections and, if so, whether poststroke infections modify the effect of admission hyperglycemia on functional outcome in ischemic stroke. Methods:We used data from acute ischemic stroke patients in the Preventive Antibiotics in Stroke Study (PASS), a multicenter randomized controlled trial (n = 2,550) investigating the effect of preventive antibiotics on functional outcome. Admission hyperglycemia was defined as blood glucose ≥7.8 mmol/L and poststroke infection as any infection during admission judged by an expert adjudication committee. Functional outcome at 3 months was assessed with the modified Rankin Scale. Results:Of 1,676 nondiabetic ischemic stroke patients, 338 (20%) had admission hyperglycemia. After adjustment for potential confounding variables, admission hyperglycemia was associated with poststroke infection (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] 2.31, 95% CI 1.31–4.07), worse 3-month functional outcome (common aOR 1.40, 95% CI 1.12–1.73), and 3-month mortality (aOR 2.11, 95% CI 1.40–3.19). Additional adjustment for poststroke infection in the functional outcome analysis, done to assess poststroke infection as an intermediate in the pathway from admission hyperglycemia to functional outcome, did not substantially change the model. In patients with recorded diabetes mellitus (n = 418), admission hyperglycemia was not associated with poststroke infection (aOR 0.49, 95% CI 0.15–1.58).Conclusions:In nondiabetic acute ischemic stroke patients, admission hyperglycemia is associated with poststroke infection and worse functional outcome. Poststroke infections did not modify the effect of admission hyperglycemia on functional outcome in ischemic stroke.

Education is something that is important can provide knowledge that can improve the characteristics of life, both in personal life, community life, and state life. A New Student Admission, often referred to as PPDB, isan annual activity which is the selection stages for prospective new students organized by school-level committees under the supervision and coordination of the Office of Education. This year, PPDB uses a new system, the zoning system, which aims to equalize students. The purpose of this study was to describe how the implementation of Permendikbud number 14 in 2018 and what are the factors inhibiting the implementation of Permendikbud number 14 in 2018 on the admission of new students based on zoning. This research was designed using an empirical legal research approach. The results of this study indicated that the implementation of Permendikbud No. 14 of 2018 in High Schools / Kejuraan especially in the South Kuta area has not been running effectively because there was one school that received protests from students' parents which resulted in the process of hiring new students being hindered. In addition, this study also showed that the inhibiting factors for the implementation of Permendikbud No. 14 of 2018 on the admission of new students based on zoning consisted of internal factors, namely the committee was less selective in examining student requirements and the application provided was experiencing interference, and external factors namely location, community mainset, and domicile certificate.

In the decade following its founding in 1955, the men who led the foreign policy lobby the Committee of One Million Against the Admission of Communist China to the United Nations faced little concerted opposition to their attempts at preventing even the most minor alterations in the U.S. policy of both isolating and containing Communist China. But beginning with the Fulbright Hearings on China in March 1966, the trend of informed opinion moved sharply against them, as liberal Democrats became newly emboldened and moderates in both parties switched sides, inverting the bipartisan consensus against change the Committee relied upon. The 1968 election of former Vice President Richard M. Nixon, who had served alongside Committee hero John Foster Dulles, seemed to offer them newfound hope. But when the “New Nixon” proved unreceptive to the entreaties of his one-time allies, the Committee mounted a furious public relations campaign to rally belatedly the right-wing base and influence public opinion. Its failure illustrated both the limits of power of American conservatives over U.S. foreign policy while détente was ascendant, and the discontinuity in priorities between the Old Right from which the Committee emerged and the New Right that left it behind.

In response to the Howard Hughes Medical Institute/Association of American Medical Colleges Scientific Foundations for Future Physicians (SFFP) report and a concern for better preparing undergraduates for future doctoral programs in the health professions, the deans of the College of Arts and Sciences and Division of Basic Biomedical Sciences of Sanford School of Medicine of the University of South Dakota formed an ad hoc Premedical Curriculum Review Committee with representatives from the science departments and medical school. The Committee began by reviewing the university's suggested premedical curriculum and matching it to the proposed competencies from the SFFP to document duplications and deficiencies. The proposed changes in the Medical College Admission Test for 2015 were also evaluated. The Committee proposed a stronger premedical curriculum, with the development of some new courses, including an inquiry-based physiology course with team-based learning, to more fully address SFFP competencies. These analyses convinced the university that a new major would best help students achieve the competencies and prepare them for admission exams. Thus, a new Medical Biology major was proposed to the South Dakota Board of Regents and accepted for its initial offering in 2012. The new major has been broadly advertised to future students and is successful as a recruiting tool for the university. This article details the process of evaluating the curriculum and designing the new major, describes some of the difficulties in its implementation, and reviews outcomes from the new major to date.

The communication strategy allows communication actions to be carried out for communication targets designed as change targets. Whereas in the marketing communication strategy the main target is First, how to make people aware that they need a product, service or value and if attention has been built, then the most important target is that people are loyal to buy the product, service or value (Bungin, 2015: 62 ). The research method used is the Qualitative Research Method, where information about Marketing Communication Strategies using Social Media is discussed by interviewing new students who have graduated as students and the new student admission team committee. While the data collection techniques used in addition to interviews also carried out literature studies and observational studies. Interviews were conducted with the Head of the New Student Admissions Committee and 10 new students. Primary data were obtained from students who were registered as Trisakti Multimedia School students. The purpose of this research is to become input for agencies that marketing communication strategies are more accurate and responsive in processing data from active users. On Social Media paid accounts (ads) are needed to expand reach and create a time schedule for processing data and daily or weekly and monthly reports.
