This dissertation studies the writing of character-narrator Mr. Silva, and the battle fought against the fascist ways within us and in the world. Discussing contemporaneity and biopolitics (Negri, 2001; Agamben, 2002; Safatle, 2015) through Portuguese author valter hugo mãe's a máquina de fazer espanhóis (2011) demands an understanding of the space occupied by the elderly (Debert, 1999; Navarro-Swain, 2003; Brum, 2010), as well as the Portugueses' lieu (Lourenço, 2001; Reis, 2004) in the current sociopolitical conjecture. The writing is marked by a plurality of discourses about the past Salazar era, about old age, and about the current status of things in what is still called democracy. Biopotency is creation, the concrete transformation of a possibility in the midst of life's expiration and confinement. Thus, Mr. Silva's writing presents the condition of those seen as abject, who live in the ―social backstages‖, spaces reserved to them because of the individualization model connected to the specific life forms produced by the norm and power systems. Hence, the hypothesis is that all this writing/production/fabrication of an old man confined in an asylum becomes a criticism and an alert about fascist ways, also pointing its opposite, which is the profound relationship with the other, and the transformation of a war machine (Deleuze, 1997) into a revolutionary imperative constituted by life potency, which in this case is the writing. This way, a time collectively shared is taken as a counterpoint to the banality of the hate for one another.
Esta dissertação se ocupa da escrita do narrador-personagem Sr. Silva e o combate travado contra os modos fascizantes que há em nós e no mundo. Abordar o contemporâneo e a biopolítica (Negri, 2001; Agamben, 2002; Safatle, 2015) através d‘a máquina de fazer espanhóis (2011), do autor português valter hugo mãe, requer a compreensão do lugar dos velhos (Debert, 1999; Navarro-Swain, 2003; Brum, 2010;), bem como dos portugueses (Lourenço, 2001; Reis, 2004) na conjuntura sócio-política atual. A escritura é marcada por uma pluralidade de discursos sobre o passado salazarista, sobre a velhice e sobre o atual estado das coisas dentro do que ainda se chama democracia. A biopotência é a criação, a transformação concreta de um possível em meio ao esgotamento e ao confinamento da vida, desse modo, a escrita de Sr. Silva presentifica a condição dos que são vistos como abjetos, que vivem nos ―bastidores do social‖, espaços que lhes são reservados devido ao modelo de individualização, modelo este conectado às formas de vida específicas produzidas pelos sistemas de normas e poder. A hipótese, então, é a de que toda essa escrita/produção/fabricação do velho dentro do asilo perfaz uma crítica e um alerta aos modos fascizantes, porém apontando sempre seu avesso que é a relação profunda com o outro e a criação de uma máquina de guerra (Deleuze, 1997) em devir-revolucionário constituída de potência de vida, que neste caso, é a escrita. Dessa maneira, um tempo voltado ao coletivo é requisitado em contraponto à banalidade do ódio ao outro.

Initially the claims for the condemnation of the past were marginalized, but in the mid-2000s a new official discourse of criminalization emerged, strongly supported by historians. Two years before, the Romanian President had recognized the participation of Romania to the Holocaust during the Second World War. This thesis questions the political and intellectual mobilizations that took place after 1989 around the interpretation of the national history. It shows how an expert field of institutions specialized in dealing with the communist and the fascist past participate to the democratic legitimization of the new political regime

He left Italy in 1926 after 5 years spent in Venetia fighting against Mussolini's accession to the power and lived in exile in Gascony then in Toulouse. It is based on new records and recent research works about Silvio Trentin's various dimensions : he was an eminent bookseller, an analyst of fascism, political leader of "Giustizia e Libertà" and believed in the United States of Europe. It throws a light on his activities within his numerous networks of friends : Italian "fuorusciti", the political leaders and the intellectuals during the period between the Twenties and the Forties. It emphazises the analysis of a jurist who theorized the concepts of autonomy and "internal Federalism" (see N. Bobbio) with Proudhon as a reference. It aims at a better knowledge of his role as an inspirator of the resistance movement called "Libérer et Fédérer" which was created in Toulouse in 1942
