Howdy everyone! It is 2020 and Census Day is April 1, 2020. There are many changes with the Census this year. Census 2020 will be the first census that people can respond to online. Sometimes people are not sure where to be counted (for example people in shelters and college students) and the Census Bureau has been working on this issue since 2015 (https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/decennial-census/2020-census/about/residence-rule.html). Annotation:
The community of Oberlin, Ohio, located in the northeast corner of the state, holds an important place in the history of the education of Black Americans. In 1834, one year after its founding, the trustees of Oberlin College agreed to admit students, “irrespective of color.” They were the only college, at that time, to adopt such a policy. Oberlin's history as the first college to admit Black students and its subsequent abolitionist activities are crucial to the discussion of Black educational history. Opportunities for education before the Civil War were not common for most of the American population, but for Blacks, these opportunities were close to nonexistent. In the South, it was illegal for Blacks to learn to read or write. In the North, there was limited access to public schooling for Black families. In addition, during the early nineteenth century there were no Black colleges for students to attend. Although Bowdoin College boasted the first Black graduate in 1827, few other colleges before the Civil War opened their doors to Black students. Therefore, the opportunity that Oberlin offered to Black students was extraordinarily important. The decision to admit Black students to the college, and offer them the same access to the college curriculum as their white classmates, challenged the commonly perceived notion of Blacks as childlike, inferior, and incapable of learning.

Abstrak The purpose of this study was to determine the utilization of the American Corner collection in the Andalas University Library. This research is a type of qualitative research with descriptive method through documentation by conducting interviews and analyzing internal factors consisting of: needs, motives, and interests as well as external factors consisting of: collection skills, librarian skills, and information retrieval. The results of the study are as follows. First, American Corner is a special service that is integrated in the college library. American Corner is the best corner service among other corner services in Andalas University library. This is supported by the facilities provided by the American Corner, the Andalas University library is widely used by students to make assignments, a place to rest and as a place of entertainment. That's good, because the recreation function of the library is executed. Second, internal factors are the fact that many students read collections to practice their English knowledge and are more interested in magazine and novel collections. Most students choose the American Corner because of the facilities provided, but many of the collections at the American Corner are not according to the student's interests so that it has an impact with books that are never touched and read by students. External factors should be added to the collection from the American Corner, but according to the needs and interests of students and the location of the computer, the OPAC retrieval system from the American Corner should be in the American Corner room to make it easier for students to retrieve information.

This study was carried out on a poultry farm in the Department of Animal Production – College of Agriculture - University of Anbar, the experiment aimed to determine broiler chicks' undesired behavior, including fear, gathering, and isolation. Seventy-five unsexed chicks were used that belong to strain Ross 308 with the age of one day. Chicks were randomly distributed to five replications, each replicate contained 15 chicks. The fear behavior was studied by observing the situation in which the chicks of each repeater are present at different times of the day when observing the chicks, we counted the number of isolated chicks, that is, located at the corners of the field, and recorded them, considering that they were very afraid. Chicks that are a little far from the corner were considered Medium afraid, and those that are farther away from the corner are a little afraid. As for the chicks that are spread out, far from the corners and walls, they are considered natural and not afraid, this is what was applied to each repeater (color) and at each of the specified times to take Data per day during the trial period. The results showed significant differences between the treatments in each of the traits of fear, grouping, and isolation due to the natural stimulator (sound) to broiler chicks.

or many of us, reading comic books is a formative childhood experience. Indeed, we can “read” comics pictorially before we can actually read. Comics are often the first reading material we select for ourselves and buy with our own money. The small-town newsstand where my brother and I bought Archie comics in the mid-’70s is etched into a corner of my brain: the ring of the bell as we opened the wooden door, the mingled smells of newsprint and tobacco, and the furtive glances towards the counter whilewe read as many comics as possible just out of the proprietor’s sight. Since the 1930s, comics have been an integral part of the American scene. They have both influenced our collective imagination and reflected the eras in which they were published. From movies (The Matrix) to literature (Michael Chabon’s The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay) to art (Roy Lichtenstein), the footprint of comics on the culture at large is a deep one.

Nursing educators wrestle with preparing the future nursing workforce to meet the needs of underserved, vulnerable populations in marginalized communities who suffer significant health disparities and social injustices. This article illustrates the integration of engaged civic learning (ECL) within a social justice framework that prepares baccalaureate nurses as global citizens to provide culturally congruent health care around the corner in local communities and learning abroad programs across the globe. Multiple partnerships with local organizations were strengthened, with ECL integrated across the nursing curriculum and aligned with local needs of community housing, schools, churches, shelters, and fitness centers. The nursing faculty collaborated with language professors to develop a Spanish for Health Professions program to increase communication between students and the high percentage of Spanish-speaking populations served locally and globally. A mixed-methods design evaluated program outcomes using descriptive data, student reflections, and the Global Perspective Inventory (GPI) to assess students’ experiences and global learning related to learning abroad during their college experience. Results from pre-surveys to post-survey results showed significant improvement (p < .05) in global learning in 16 of 35 question items. As students journey from entrance into nursing school until graduation, ECL develops them into engaged global citizens.

Those of us working in libraries, including university and college libraries, know the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic brought to light. However, we also know that many (if not all) of these challenges existed pre-pandemic and will continue to exist when we have reached a post-pandemic future. Issues of connectedness and access to services—and to people—will continue to be a concern for any institution aiming for improved equity and outcomes for those they serve. Blue Mountain Community College (BMCC) in Pendleton, Oregon, implemented LibChat, an online live chat service made for libraries and hosted by Springshare. Since its implementation in April 2020, LibChat has already assisted the BMCC Library and its wider community with these issues, as it applies to everything from internal communication, flexible work schedules and environments and, of course, response to student, faculty, staff, and community needs. Additionally, LibChat can continue to assist with these issues as we move forward and evolve with our community and its needs.
