<abstract><p>This study investigated how permanent charges influence the dynamics of ionic channels. Using a quasi-one-dimensional classical Poisson–Nernst–Planck (PNP) model, we investigated the behavior of two distinct ion species—one positively charged and the other negatively charged. The spatial distribution of permanent charges was characterized by zero values at the channel ends and a constant charge $ Q_0 $ within the central region. By treating the classical PNP model as a boundary value problem (BVP) for a singularly perturbed system, the singular orbit of the BVP depended on $ Q_0 $ in a regular way. We therefore explored the solution space in the presence of a small permanent charge, uncovering a systematic dependence on this parameter. Our analysis employed a rigorous perturbation approach to reveal higher-order effects originating from the permanent charges. Through this investigation, we shed light on the intricate interplay among boundary conditions and permanent charges, providing insights into their impact on the behavior of ionic current, fluxes, and flux ratios. We derived the quadratic solutions in terms of permanent charge, which were notably more intricate compared to the linear solutions. Through computational tools, we investigated the impact of these quadratic solutions on fluxes, current-voltage relations, and flux ratios, conducting a thorough analysis of the results. These novel findings contributed to a deeper comprehension of ionic flow dynamics and hold potential implications for enhancing the design and optimization of ion channel-based technologies.</p></abstract>

AbstractIn this work, we consider ionic flow through ion channels for an ionic mixture of a cation species (positively charged ions) and an anion species (negatively charged ions), and examine effects of a positive permanent charge on fluxes of the cation species and the anion species. For an ion species, and for any given boundary conditions and channel geometry,we introduce a ratio _(Q) = J(Q)/J(0) between the flux J(Q) of the ion species associated with a permanent charge Q and the flux J(0) associated with zero permanent charge. The flux ratio _(Q) is a suitable quantity for measuring an effect of the permanent charge Q: if _(Q) > 1, then the flux is enhanced by Q; if _ < 1, then the flux is reduced by Q. Based on analysis of Poisson-Nernst-Planck models for ionic flows, a universal property of permanent charge effects is obtained: for a positive permanent charge Q, if _1(Q) is the flux ratio for the cation species and _2(Q) is the flux ratio for the anion species, then _1(Q) < _2(Q), independent of boundary conditions and channel geometry. The statement is sharp in the sense that, at least for a given small positive Q, depending on boundary conditions and channel geometry, each of the followings indeed occurs: (i) _1(Q) < 1 < _2(Q); (ii) 1 < _1(Q) < _2(Q); (iii) _1(Q) < _2(Q) < 1. Analogous statements hold true for negative permanent charges with the inequalities reversed. It is also shown that the quantity _(Q) = |J(Q) − J(0)| may not be suitable for comparing the effects of permanent charges on cation flux and on anion flux. More precisely, for some positive permanent charge Q, if _1(Q) is associated with the cation species and _2(Q) is associated with the anion species, then, depending on boundary conditions and channel geometry, each of the followings is possible: (a) _1(Q) > _2(Q); (b) _1(Q) < _2(Q).

In this work, the dependence of reversal potentials and zero-current fluxes on diffusion coefficients are examined for ionic flows through membrane channels. The study is conducted for the setup of a simple structure defined by the profile of permanent charges with two mobile ion species, one positively charged (cation) and one negatively charged (anion). Numerical observations are obtained from analytical results established using geometric singular perturbation analysis of classical Poisson–Nernst–Planck models. For 1:1 ionic mixtures with arbitrary diffusion constants, Mofidi and Liu (arXiv:1909.01192) conducted a rigorous mathematical analysis and derived an equation for reversal potentials. We summarize and extend these results with numerical observations for biological relevant situations. The numerical investigations on profiles of the electrochemical potentials, ion concentrations, and electrical potential across ion channels are also presented for the zero-current case. Moreover, the dependence of current and fluxes on voltages and permanent charges is investigated. In the opinion of the authors, many results in the paper are not intuitive, and it is difficult, if not impossible, to reveal all cases without investigations of this type.

Electret filter composed of permanently charged electret fibers is a good material for environmental protection. A novel kind of electret melt-blown nonwovens (EMNs) doped with nano-tourmaline was developed by corona charging in this paper. The structure of web, mechanical properties, surface charge density and filtration efficiency of samples were discussed. The results showed that the structure of EMNs became loose and the initial surface charge density was increased markedly. Furthermore, the EMNs exhibited higher filtration efficiency and lower pressure drop, especially the content of nano-tourmaline was about 6 wt. %.

Abstract A NiO/β-Ga2O3 heterojunction-gate field effect transistor (HJ-FET) is fabricated and its instability mechanisms are experimentally investigated under different gate stress voltage (V G,s) and stress times (t s). Two different degradation mechanisms of the devices under negative bias stress (NBS) are identified. At low V G,s for a short t s, NiO bulk traps trapping/de-trapping electrons are responsible for decrease/recovery of the leakage current, respectively. At higher V G,s or long t s, the device transfer characteristic curves and threshold voltage (V TH) are almost permanently negatively shifted. This is because the interface dipoles are almost permanently ionized and neutralize the ionized charges in the space charge region (SCR) across the heterojunction interface, resulting in a narrowing SCR. This provides an important theoretical guide to study the reliability of NiO/β-Ga2O3 heterojunction devices in power electronic applications.

Examiner les modalités actuelles de continuité périnatale dans l’organisation des soins amène à retrouver l’origine du concept « sentiment continu d’exister » à divers moments de l’histoire des idées, puis à celle des pratiques. Socle dans la construction de l’humain, les moyens de l’assurer chez l’enfant en construction mettent en jeu de multiples facteurs. La pénétration de la théorie de l’attachement dans la culture médicale et psychologique en a favorisé la diffusion. D’abord étudié au sein de la dyade mère–bébé, le cadre d’analyse s’est élargi à la place du père, et à l’environnement professionnel dans sa proximité avec les parents et l’enfant aux étapes précoces de la vie, marquées par la médicalisation des décennies précédentes. De ce fait, le monde obstétricopédiatrique s’est complexifié. Les nouvelles technologies de soins ont confronté les équipes à des charges émotionnelles incontournables. C’est dans le rapprochement des disciplines concernées par le devenir de l’enfant, tant sur le plan somatique que psychoaffectif, qu’ont pu se repérer les fossés au sein du monde professionnel. Ces écarts tiennent à la matérialité des organisations, aux conditions d’exercice fort distantes, aux cultures monodisciplinaires jusqu’alors exclusives, ainsi qu’aux langages et aux objectifs distincts. L’impact des attitudes et pratiques médicales et psychosociales en ces moments sensibles est devenu objet de recherche. Chaque terrain développe ses stratégies, aidé selon les sites par une politique de soins telle que la création des réseaux périnatals en France. Une étroite collaboration entre trois équipes française, suisse et belge a permis depuis deux décennies de coanimer l’analyse minutieuse des processus de changement psychoémotionnel chez les futurs parents, et leur retentissement sur l’enfant en devenir, à la lumière des nouvelles modalités d’accompagnement pluriprofessionnel dans la succession des étapes. Même si les politiques de santé diffèrent, un état d’esprit commun s’est dégagé, ménageant l’inventivité et le rythme de chaque site. Un effort de publication et d’enseignement s’est mené ensemble. Le schéma « APRC » (Accompagnement personnalisé en réseau coordonné), élaboré au fil des années grâce aux propositions de praticiens engagés, aux recommandations administratives, aux échanges entre régions et pays, dessine un ensemble de dispositifs légers qui organisent la communication au sein du réseau professionnel. Les éléments de discontinuité sont présents, nécessaires, et témoignent de la diversification des rôles au fil des étapes. Mais ils s’intègrent dans un contexte environnemental toujours en mouvement, formant une toile protectrice et souple autour des personnes qui pourront s’y appuyer. Mis en forme sur le site de Montpellier, l’APRC a bénéficié récemment d’une étude comparative qui en confirme l’efficacité. Il constitue une étape dans l’effort de prévention précoce, susceptible d’améliorations permanentes.

Objetivo: Analisar o método de oficinas desenvolvido com base na teoria de Charles Maguerez utilizado no processo de Educação Permanente em Saúde. Além disso, conhecer a percepção dos profissionais de saúde sobre os efeitos da utilização desse método.Materiais e Métodos: Estudo exploratório e descritivo com abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvido em um Centro de Saúde da Família (CSF) de um município do Norte do Ceará. Teve como sujeitos os profissionais da equipe de saúde do CSF de um município do Norte do Ceará.Resultados: Foram entrevistados 15 profissionais que participavam das atividades de Educação Permanente em Saúde na unidade. A análise dos dados se deu com base nos pressupostos do método do Arco de Charles Maguerez, onde foram originadas as seguintes categorias: O método utilizado no processo de Educação Permanente em Saúde; Refletindo/discutindo sobre a realidade; Apontando resolução para os problemas e transformando as práticas cotidianas; Desafios para o uso do método nos momentos de Educação Permanente em Saúde na Estratégia Saúde da Família. Há uma valorização do método por estimular a participação da equipe e é visto como estimulador de reflexões tanto em relação à assistência prestada enquanto equipe para a comunidade quanto ao seu próprio fazer enquanto profissional. Surgiram propostas relacionadas à periodicidade das oficinas e a busca de conhecer mais o Arco de Charles Maguerez.Conclusão: O uso da teoria do Arco de Charles Maguerez na Educação Permanente em Saúde provocou envolvimento com a realidade vivenciada, com as potencialidades do território e da própria equipe.

We study a one-dimensional Poisson–Nernst–Planck system for ionic flow through a membrane channel. Nonzero but small permanent charge, the major structural quantity of an ion channel, is included in the model. Two cations with the same valences and one anion are included in the model, which provides more rich and complicated correlations/interactions between ions. The cross-section area of the channel is included in the system, and it provides certain information of the geometry of the three-dimensional channel, which is critical for our analysis. Geometric singular perturbation analysis is employed to establish the existence and local uniqueness of solutions to the system for small permanent charges. Treating the permanent charge as a small parameter, through regular perturbation analysis, we are able to derive approximations of the individual fluxes explicitly, and this allows us to study the competition between two cations, which is related to the selectivity phenomena of ion channels. Numerical simulations are performed to provide a more intuitive illustration of our analytical results, and they are consistent.

Les traumatismes alvéolo- dentaires (TAD) sont très fréquents et impliquent souvent des enfants ou des adolescents nécessitant ou en cours d’un traitement d’orthopédie dento faciale. Leur incidence peut être diminuée par une prise en charge orthodontique tant sur le plan fonctionnel que sur le plan orthopédique. Le traitement orthodontique sur des dents traumatisées peut avoir des effets néfastes sur les tissus pulpaire et parodontal. Le plan de traitement des patients présentant des TAD implique donc l’évaluation de 2 facteurs : le pronostic du traumatisme et le traitement éventuel de la malocclusion. La connaissance des risques de la prise en charge des dents traumatisées pour un consentement parfaitement éclairé est capitale. Il est donc essentiel de connaître les réactions biologiques de celles-ci. Il sera parfois même nécessaire d’envisager uniquement une solution de compromis dans les objectifs de traitement ODF.

AbstractThe cation exchange capacity (CEC) of seven well characterized halloysite nanotubes (HNTs) in the dehydrated 7 Å form has been measured using a method based on cobalt hexammine exchange. In addition to unbuffered measurements, which varied between 2.9 and 9.3 cmol(+)kg−1, CECs were also determined over a wide pH range and proton titration measurements were conducted on two samples. The data were fitted using a constant capacitance model based on the presence of two sites: permanently charged sites and pH-dependent variable charged sites. Normalization of CEC to the average specific surface area (BET) of the halloysite samples reduces considerably the variation of CEC values for the different samples particularly over the intermediate pH range (5–9) with the average value at pH 7 equal to 8.5 cmol(+)kg−1and a standard deviation of 1.17. Overall the CEC behaviour of the seven samples appears reasonably consistent throughout the set. Calculations based on proton titrations suggest a ratio of variable charge to basal sites for the dehydrated halloysite nanotubes of ∼3:1.

In this study we examine the effects of ionic conditions on the gating charge movement in the fast inactivation–removed wild-type Shaker channel and its W434F mutant. Our results show that various ionic conditions influence the rate at which gating charge returns during repolarization following a depolarizing pulse. These effects are realized through different mechanisms, which include the regulation of channel closing by occupying the cavity, the modulation of transitions into inactivated states, and effects on transitions between closed states via a direct interaction with the channel's gating charges. In generating these effects the cations act from the different binding sites within the pore. Ionic conditions, in which conducting wild-type channels close at different rates, do not significantly affect the rate of charge recovery upon repolarization. In these conditions, channel closing is fast enough not to be rate-limiting in the charge recovery process. In the permanently P-inactivated mutant channel, however, channel closing becomes the rate-limiting step, presumably due to weakened ion–ion interactions inside the pore and a slower intrinsic rate of gate closure. Thus, variations in closing rate induced by different ions are reflected as variations in the rate of charge recovery. In 115 mM internal Tris+ and external K+, Cs+, or Rb+, low inward permeation of these ions can be observed through the mutant channel. In these instances, channel closing becomes slower than in Tris+O//Tris+I solutions showing resemblance to the wild-type channel, where higher inward ionic fluxes also retard channel closing. Our data indicate that cations regulate the transition into the inactivated states from the external lock-in site and possibly the deep site. The direct action of barium on charge movement is probably exerted from the deep site, but this effect is not very significant for monovalent cations.

Of particular interest is to examine the dynamics of ionic flows in terms of I–V (current–voltage) relations with boundary layers due to the relaxation of neutral conditions on boundary concentrations. This is achieved by employing the regular perturbation analysis on the solutions established through geometric singular perturbation analysis. Rich dynamics are observed, particularly, the nonlinear interplays among different physical parameters are characterized. Critical potentials are identified, which play critical roles in the study of ionic flows and can be estimated experimentally. Numerical simulations are performed to further illustrate and provide more intuitive understandings of our analytical results.

Abstract The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) is a next-generation long-baseline neutrino accelerator experiment aiming for precise measurements of the neutrino oscillation parameters. DUNE will include a near detector complex regrouping three different detectors among which SAND (System for on-Axis Neutrino Detection) that will be the only one permanently on the neutrino beam axis in charge of monitoring in detail the emitted neutrino beam and its stability through time, a crucial characteristic to realize accurate oscillation measurements at the percent level. SAND will reuse the superconducting magnet and the electromagnetic calorimeter of the KLOE experiment. We will describe in the following the proposal of using, as inner tracker of SAND, a large 3D matrix of 1.5cm side scintillator cubes (3DST) surrounded by 3 gaseous Time Projection Chambers. This setup allows to realize accurate beam monitoring combining the 3DST unprecedented capability of neutron detection and energy measurement with the high precision momentum resolution for charged particles offered by the TPCs. The proposed TPC design allows to reach spatial resolutions of a few hundreds of micrometers using 1 cm pads by deploying the resistive MicroMegas technology for the charge readout.

The electrical charges in soil particles are divided into structural or permanent charges and variable charges. Permanent charges develop on the soil particle surface by isomorphic substitution. Variable charges arise from dissociation and association of protons (H+), protonation or deprotonation, and specific adsorption of cations and anions. The aim of this study was to quantify the permanent charges and variable charges of Reference Soils of the State of Pernambuco, Brazil. To do so, 24 subsurface profiles from different regions (nine in the Zona da Mata, eight in the Agreste, and seven in the Sertão) were sampled, representing approximately 80 % of the total area of the state. Measurements were performed using cesium chloride solution. Determination was made of the permanent charges and the charges in regard to the hydroxyl functional groups through selective ion exchange of Cs+ by Li+ and Cs+ by NH4+, respectively. All the soils analyzed exhibited variable cation exchange capacity, with proportions from 0.16 to 0.60 and an average of 0.40 when related to total cation exchange capacity.

O experimento foi conduzido em solos aluviais da área experimental do Departamento de Engenharia Rural da Faculdade de Ciências Agronômicas – Universidade Estadual Paulista, Botucatu, SP. Em uma área piloto, foram caracterizadas as propriedades hidráulicas do solo, determinado a carga hidráulica e descarga dos drenos subterrâneos. Os dados foram analisados com o uso das equações de Hooghoudt, para fluxo permanente, e a de Glover-Dumm, para fluxos não permanentes. Nas condições locais deste estudo a equação para fluxo permanente não permitiu uma boa estimativa da porosidade drenável na profundidade que contribui para o fluxo aos drenos. O uso da equação para fluxo não permanente proporcionou um valor de porosidade drenável mais próxima de um valor médio representativo desta propriedade para o dimensionamento de sistema de drenagem, quando comparado ao método de laboratório (mesa de tensão). Contudo, e devido à variabilidade espacial textural do solo ser ampla, vindo a dificultar a estimativa de valores mais representativos da porosidade drenável a ser utilizados nas equações para o dimensionamento de drenos. Assim, um grande número de medições pode ser requerido em condições de recarga e carga hidráulica, para levar em conta esta variabilidade, permitindo, portanto, uma estimativa mais fidedigna da porosidade drenável, no sentido de definir o melhor procedimento de análise dos resultados. The experiment was carried out in an alluvial soil area at the Agricultural Engineering Department in the School of Agronomy Sciences of Paulista State University, Botucatu, SP, Brazil. In an experimental area, the hydraulic properties of the soil were characterized through the hydraulic head charge and discharge of the underground drains. The data were analyzed with the use of Hooghoudt equations for steady-state flow and Glover-Dumm equation for non-steady-state flow. Under local conditions, the figures for steady-state flow did not allow a good estimate of the drainable porosity in the depth that contributes to the flow towards the drains. When compared to laboratory method (tension table), using an equation for non-steady-state flow, to calculate the dimension of drainage systems, provided a drainable porosity value closer to the significant average value of this property. However, and because the spatial and textural soil variability be wide, it is more difficult to estimate more significant values for drainable porosity to be used in equations for the drain dimensioning. Therefore, to take this variability into consideration and, thus, allow a more accurate estimate for drainable porosity in order to define the best procedure for result analysis, a large number of tests, under conditions of recharge and hydraulic head can be requested. Large charge density, unlike high temperature, may lead to nonrestoration of global and gauge symmetries. Supersymmetric GUTs with the appealing scenario of unification scale being generated dynamically naturally contain global continuous R-symmetries. We point out that the presence of a large R-charge in the early universe can lead to GUT symmetry nonrestoration. This provides a simple way out of the monopole problem and, at the same time, solves the well-known cosmological problem of the theory being caught permanently in the wrong vacuum with the GUT gauge group unbroken.

Costa Rica hosts ten volcanic complexes and is highly tectonically active due to its location at the interaction between the Cocos, Nazca, and Caribbean plates and the Panama microplate. Three of the five historically active volcanoes had frequent eruptions in 2019. The institutions in charge of monitoring the volcanoes of Costa Rica are the Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica from Universidad Nacional (OVSICORI-UNA) and the Red Sismológica Nacional (RSN: UCR-ICE that groups the Escuela Centroamericana de Geología from the Universidad de Costa Rica, and the Observatorio Sismológico y Vulcanológico de Arenal y Miravalles from the Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad; acronyms ECG, UCR, OSIVAM, and ICE). These institutions are focused on the most dangerous volcanoes, i.e. those closest to the Great Metropolitan Area (2.2 million inhabitants), which includes San José (the capital), and those near hydroelectrical and geothermal plants. In 2020, those institutions operated a network of. 59 seismic stations on volcanoes, 5 infrasound stations, 25 permanent GPS sites, 2 permanent DOAS, 3 permanent MultiGAS, 13 webcams, and performed systematic analyses in geochemistry and petrology laboratories. Those institutes routinely communicate results with the authorities in charge of crisis management nationally and internationally (Comisión Nacional de Prevención de Riesgos y Atención de Emergencias and Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre, respectively) and are always looking for more scientific collaborations. Costa Rica alberga diez complejos volcánicos y presenta una elevada actividad sísmica debido a su ubicación dentro de un marco tectónico complejo, donde interactúan las placas del Cocos, Nazca, Caribe y la microplaca de Panamá. Tres de los cinco volcanes históricamente activos han tenido frecuentes erupciones durante el 2019. Los institutos que vigilan los volcanes de Costa Rica son el Observatorio Vulcanológico y Sismológico de Costa Rica (OVSICORIUNA) y la Red Sismológica Nacional (RSN: UCR-ICE que agrupa a la Escuela Centroamericana de Geología de la Universidad de Costa Rica y al Observatorio Sismológico y Vulcanológico del Arenal y Miravalles del Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, acrónimos en orden: ECG, UCR, OSIVAM e ICE). Estos institutos se enfocan principalmente en los volcanes que representan un alto riesgo para la capital San José y la Gran Área Metropolitana, en el centro de Costa Rica (2.2 millones de habitantes), y aquellos cerca de centrales hidroeléctricas y geotérmicas. La vigilancia se apoya en una red de 59 estaciones sísmicas, 5 medidores de infrasonido, 25 sitios GPS permanentes, 2 DOAS, 3 MultiGAS permanentes, 13 cámaras web y análisis sistemático de muestras en los laboratorios de geoquímica y petrología. Estas instituciones comunican sus resultados de forma rutinaria a las autoridades a cargo de la gestión de peligros nacionales e internacionales (Comisión Nacional de Prevención de Riegos y Atención de Emergencias y Volcanic Ash Advisory Centre, respectivamente), y permanecen en la búsqueda permanente de colaboraciones científicas.

Le syndrome douloureux régional complexe type1 (SDRCI) ou algodystrophie est défini comme un syndrome douloureux vasomoteur et trophique portant sur des structures sous-cutanées, articulaires, périarticulaires et osseuses, d’un segment de membre, le plus souvent après un traumatisme. Sa physiopathologie est complexe et n’est pas totalement élucidée. Elle implique un dysfonc-tionnement sympathique, des phénomènes inflam-matoires, neurogéniques, vasculaires, périphériques et centraux. L’incidence du SDRC I est forte entre 30 et 70 ans et la majorité des travaux rapportent la prédominance féminine. Les facteurs favorisants sont nombreux, mais dans certains cas, aucune cause n’est retrouvée. Sur le plan clinique, différentes phases caractérisent le SDRCI, la phase aigüe dite chaude douloureuse, la phase dystrophique caractérisée par l’amplification des troubles trophiques et la phase atrophique qui se confond parfois avec la 2ème et au cours de laquelle s’installent les attitudes vicieuses, pouvant devenir des séquelles permanentes. Le diagnostic est clinique et les examens biologiques dont le bilan inflammatoire sont habituellement sans anomalies. Des critères diagnostiques cliniques sont actuellement établis et validés sur le plan international. L’hyperfixation osseuse au technétium 99 précède l’apparition des signes radiologiques, mais elle peut totalement manquer chez l’enfant et l’adolescent. L’IRM n’a de place qu’en cas de difficulté diagnostique, particulièrement en cas d’atteinte de la hanche. Le traitement de SDRC de type I est n’est pas bien défini. La kinésithérapie, la physiothérapie sont essentielles. Pendant la phase douloureuse, les antalgiques de palier 1 et 2 sont utiles. La corticothérapie en cure courte a donné des résultats favorables. La calcitonine, considérée pendant longtemps comme le traitement de référence de l’algodystrophie, n’est plus recommandée. Les bisphosphonates ont un effet antalgique mais leur prescription reste hors AMM. La place de l’anesthésie thérapeutique dans les formes d’algodystrophie réfractaire reste à définir. Les blocs sympathiques sont remis en cause, la sympathectomie est rarement pratiquée. La prise en charge psychologique est indispensable et la prévention reste essentielle.

In the Social Internet of Things (SIoT), trust refers to the decision-making process used by the trustor (Service Requesters (SRs) or Service Consumers (SCs)) to decide whether or not to entrust the trustee (Service Providers (SPs)) with specific services. Trust is the key factor in SIoT domain. The designing of a two-way, two-stage parameterized feedback-based, service-driven, attacks-resistant trust and reputation system for SIoT accompanied by a penalty mechanism for dishonest SPs and SRs is our main contribution that mitigates the trust-related issues occurring during service provisioning and service acquisition amongst various entities (SPs or SRs) and enhances trust amongst them. Our proposed methodology examines a SP’s local trust, global trust, and reputation by taking into account “Social Trust” and “Quality of Service (QoS)” factors”. Two—Stage Parameterized feedback” is incorporated in our proposed strategy to better manage “intention” and “ability” of SRs and provides early identification of suspicious SRs. This feature compels SRs to act honestly and rate the corresponding SPs in a more accurate way. Our recommended paradigm sorts SPs into three SP status lists (White List, Grey List, and Black List) based on reputation values where each list has a threshold with respect to the maximum service fee that can be charged. SPs in White List charge the most per service. SPs in other lists have a lower selection probability. Every feedback updates the SP’s trust and reputation value. Sorting SPs increases resistance against On Off Attack, Discriminatory Attack, Opportunistic Service Attack, and Selective Behavior Attacks. SPs must operate honestly and offer the complete scope of stated services since their reputation value relies on all their global trust values (Tglobal) for various services. Service requests may be accepted or denied by SPs. “Temporarily banned” SRs can only request unblocked services. SRs lose all privileges once on a “permanently banned” list. If local and global trust values differ by more than the threshold, the SR is banned. Our method also provides resistance against Bad Mouthing Attack, Ballot Stuffing Attack. Good Mouthing Attack/Self—Propagating Attack. Experiments indicate our trust and reputation management system recognizes and bans fraudulent SRs. “Dishonest SPs” are “blacklisted,” which affects their reputation, trust, and service charges.

Potassium-ion electrets, which mainly consist of amorphous silica and permanently store negative charge, are vital elements of small autonomous vibration-powered generators. However, negative charge decay is sometimes observed to cause issues for applications. In this study, we propose an improved guideline for the fabrication of potassium-ion electrets by first-principles calculations based on density functional theory, which shows that yield reduction can be suppressed by additional oxidation. Moreover, we experimentally confirm that the additional oxidation step effectively extends the lifetime of potassium-ion electrets.

Charles Marowitz's Silent Partners, based on Eric Bentley's book The Brecht Memoir (1989) and on the author's subsequent interviews with Bentley, premiered under Marowitz's own direction at the Scena Theatre in Washington, DC, in 2006. Here, he describes the genesis of the play and the working relationship with Bentley which in turn explored Bentley's working relationship with Brecht. Charles Marowitz was a close collaborator with Peter Brook in the RSC's experimental work in the 1960s, and was founder and director of the Open Space Theatre in London, but now works permanently as a writer, director, and critic in the USA.

Permanent magnet axial bearing axial stiffness analysis is critical in the design process of permanent magnetic bearing. This article establishes the axial magnetic model through the equivalent magnetic charge method, but the equivalent magnetic charge method solving the axial force need work out four complicated quadruple integrals. The calculation cycle the traditional method is too long, and even cannot get analytical solution. On the contrary, the method of through Forcal language programming to approximate computation bearing axial force makes the solving process simplification. The stiffness of the permanent magnet bearing with equivalent magnetic charge method is verified by comparing the simulating result obtained by using the finite element method. The conclusion is that the equivalent magnetic charge method can be used to calculate the axial stiffness of permanent magnet bearings and provide the basis of the axial permanent bearings design.

Voltage-gated proton channels are unique ion channels, membrane proteins that allow protons but no other ions to cross cell membranes. They are found in diverse species, from unicellular marine life to humans. In all cells, their function requires that they open and conduct current only under certain conditions, typically when the electrochemical gradient for protons is outwards. Consequently, these proteins behave like rectifiers, conducting protons out of cells. Their activity has electrical consequences and also changes the pH on both sides of the membrane. Here we summarize what is known about the way these proteins sense the membrane potential and the pH inside and outside the cell. Currently, it is hypothesized that membrane potential is sensed by permanently charged arginines (with very high p K a ) within the protein, which results in parts of the protein moving to produce a conduction pathway. The mechanism of pH sensing appears to involve titratable side chains of particular amino acids. For this purpose their p K a needs to be within the operational pH range. We propose a ‘counter-charge’ model for pH sensing in which electrostatic interactions within the protein are selectively disrupted by protonation of internally or externally accessible groups.

Confrontés à une liste d’attente permanente pour les prises en charge en psychothérapies dans le service, il nous a paru important de nous questionner sur les raisons d’une embolisation des consultations, ceci par un nombre limité de patients border-line, décrit comme hyper-consommateurs de soins ambulatoires pendant plusieurs années, tout en étant en difficultés pour bénéficier d’un suivi psychothérapeutique régulier. Nous nous sommes alors intéressés à comparer le parcours de soins, les caractéristiques cliniques d’un groupe de ces patients états limites, pris en charge en TCC, que nous considérions comme « dépendants » de leur psychothérapie, par rapport à un groupe d’autres personnalités pathologiques. À partir des problèmes institutionnels que pose la prise en charge de ce type de patients, nous nous interrogerons sur la notion d’addiction aux psychothérapies par comparaison aux autres addictions et nous discuterons les modalités de gestion de cette dépendance bien particulière.

Résumé L’écriture postmoderne, dans laquelle s’inscrit C’est moi le gros et toi le petit de Juan Mayorga, est une écriture construite notamment sur les renvois et les répétitions. De fait, ce texte fonde sa structure et sa charge comique sur la répétition : comique de répétition, mais aussi humour du jeu sur la répétition du modèle de Laurel et Hardy et sur les répétitions permanentes auxquelles se livrent les deux protagonistes. Nous nous proposons d’interroger ces répétitions en cascade et d’analyser les rouages du comique de répétition en mettant en regard un cinéma usant de ce procédé et un théâtre qui reprend ce motif pour mieux se le réapproprier.

Une nouvelle procédure pour l'extraction de la position du rotor des moteurs synchrones à aimants permanents à pôles saillants (PMSM) est présentée dans cet article. Un signal de rotation de porteur est injecté dans la machine pour mesurer son déplacement à l'aide d'un courant haute fréquence. Cette méthode réduit le temps de calcul, simplifie le modèle d'extraction et améliore l'erreur d'évaluation du déplacement. Cette méthode est efficace pour les moteurs synchrones à aimants permanents montés en surface (SPMSM) présentant de petites saillances magnétiques avec un enroulement de stator distribué de manière sinusoïdale alimenté par un onduleur de source de tension à modulation d'impulsions vectorielles spatiales (SVPWM). Les résultats expérimentaux ont prouvé que la méthode de compensation de déphasage en ligne pouvait évaluer le déplacement du rotor, la vitesse et le fonctionnement du contrôle vectoriel PMSM sans capteur avec une grande précision. Cette méthode a montré son efficacité pour les performances statiques et dynamiques dans diverses conditions de charge de fonctionnement.
