Der volle Inhalt der QuelleHow did one become an assistant priest, then a parish priest in the diocese of Boulogne-sur-Mer between 1627 and 1789? The issue will be at the centre of this piece of research and will make it possible to study the lives of those men from their births to their deaths. The core role of priests –and particularly that of parish priests- within the parish community offers an insight into the spiritual, intellectual and economic aspects of life under the Ancient Regime. This study starts from the year 1627, when Victor Le Bouthillier was appointed Bishop of the diocese of Boulogne-sur-Mer. This prelate spurred the implementation of the Catholic Reformation in the diocese. The year 1789 marks the end of this study with the death of Bishop Partz de Pressy –a great reformer. The intersecting study of a large number of documents has dictated the division of this dissertation into three parts. The first section -Sacerdotal Education- looks at the formation of priests, their educational and school records from childhood to graduation from the Grand Seminary over the 1627-1789 period. The second part deals with the professional records of clerics and focuses on priesthood and the ordinations carried out in the diocese of Boulogne-sur-Mer; it is then devoted to the roles of clerics, the hierarchy and an analysis of the careers of the parish clergy. The third part, entitled Priesthood and material life, looks at the daily lives of the parish clergy. The histories of Jansenism and Antijansenism in the diocese of Boulogne-sur-Mer are also analysed in the three parts. The day-to-day existence of those men, through all the stages of their lives –from birth to death- will be examined

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleShould I buy or should I bid ? The influence of market mechanism : the case of Boulogne-Sur-Mer fish market. The Boulogne-sur-Mer fish market is organized in a very specific way. Each day buyers and sellers can choose to use either an auction mechanism, a negotiated market, or evenboth, in order to sell and buy goods.A stunning fact observed is the stable coexistence of those two sub-markets throughout time, with no convergence of agents toward one of them, each one accounting for roughly half of the exchanged quantities. The present thesis aims at discovering the necessary conditions of the emergence andstability of such a coexistence. To do it, we will begin with an empirical study of daily transactions that have occurred on this market for a few years. We begin with a statistical and econometric study to extract the main stylized facts of this market, then we study the social networks influencing the outcomes. Once those facts determined, we build agent-based computational models able to reproduce the individual behaviours of agents, and through these, the emergence of the market’sbehaviour itself

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe history of the collections has been a main focus in the Museum Studies since the late 20th century. However, despite having been inventoried in the 1980s, the past of pacific collections is still mainly undiscovered, the process of their incorporation into the museum unkown. It is mostly due to the eventful history of inventories and collection managments. Museum curators often encounter objects unumbered, labels unconnected to any artifact, several numbers for the same object... But is displaying an object detached from any historical background a viable option ? Or should we always consider its history and the way it became a museum piece ? Our goal is to relate the pacific collections past, looking through the archives, unraveling the steps these artifacts took from the Pacific to Northern France. The diversity and profusion of pacific material in the North and Pas-de-Calais departments account for our regional focus. Our main point of interest is the collectors and donators, men and women who took part to the history of the artifacts, in the contexte of the notable socialibity. We highlight the way these objects came to enter the inventory of the museum, the way they were perceived by the administrations and the public, but also the way they were displayed. The two main institutions in our study are the Museums of Boulogne-sur-Mer and Douai. Both are rich in archives material and the tragic destiny of the second warrant this pre- eminence. The Hôtel Sandelin of Saint-Omer, Dunkerque Fine Arts and Lille Natural History Museums are the three other study cases presented in our thesis. Our time frame is mainly set on the 19th century, with a starting point at the creation of the first institution, the Boulogne- sur-Mer Museum
