Common to all commercial enterprises is the problem of violating the basics of the formation of intellectual activity. The same problem of enterprises’ intellectual activities is quite relevant from a practical point of view. One of the useful tools, the use of which makes it possible to translate the issues of intellectual activities, is the formation of a business model. In the process of the study reported here, a meaningful part of the intellectual business model of an enterprise was proposed and the corresponding concept was introduced. The main groups of indicators for assessing the level of intellectual activities of the business model of an enterprise were combined into the following clusters: qualifications (Q), skills (S), possibilities (V). The level of an enterprise's intellectual activities was assessed using an empirical and graphical method since the selected assessment indicators in their content can only accept point scores. The proposed methodology for forming a radar system to determine the format of business models for intellectual activity of trading enterprises is based on the definition of clusters of indicators to assess the level of an enterprise’s intellectual activities using an integral indicator. According to the radar system, the formats of enterprises' intellectual activities have been determined: innovative, integrated, rational, content-oriented, conducting. It was investigated that the potential for increasing the level of intellectual activity of the integrated format of the business model of an enterprise is about 14 %. The conclusion about the level of the enterprise's intellectual activities is made on the basis of determining the scale of values of expert assessments. Validation of the assessment of the level of intellectual activity of an enterprise was carried out separately for each format for all proposed clusters of assessment indicators. Based on the results of testing, recommendations have been compiled for choosing the format of a business model for the studied enterprises.

Business Intelligence represents the totality of an enterprise’s information, perceptual and operational competencies as a basis for managing change and building competitiveness. It centres on protecting the data of one enterprise, while gathering the data of others in creating the information needed for a development strategy. Abstract Business continuity management is a tool that provides a structured framework for building business sustainability with the ability to respond effectively, protecting the interests of key stakeholders as well as other key activities that create value for the business. It is the disruption of the enterprise’s key activities that can cause problems that enterprises may not be able to handle without proper help and can lead to bankruptcy. The action of various factors from the external as well as the internal environment can change the overall development of the enterprise depending on its reaction to the given change, at the same time, in connection with its initial readiness, ensured prevention of the enterprise. Maintaining business continuity is closely related to ensuring the smoothness of business processes. Business continuity management is a management process that identifies potential threats and their impact on the enterprise’s business operations. Therefore, the article aims to highlight the benefits of the implementation of business continuity management in enterprises, which would ensure the course and smoothness of business operations. At the same time, in combination with risk management, it is possible to reach a better understanding of the enterprise and its activities that ensure the running of the enterprise. The importance of business continuity management and risk management lies primarily in the enterprise’s readiness to face unexpected situations, while the appropriate selection of methods, techniques, and procedures can help to activate and create a sustainable enterprise system. By implementing business continuity management and risk management, it would be possible to achieve an improvement in the enterprise’s response to adverse situations but also in the overall course of the executed processes concerning the operation of the enterprise. Interruption of business operations can be caused by various factors, which have an impact mainly on the ability of the business to function even in difficult, unpredictable situations. Therefore, in this context, the main emphasis is placed on prevention, preparedness, and the ability of the enterprise to respond promptly to changes in the environment and the ability to transform its activities in its entire structure.

An important function of the economic mechanism of any enterprise is the management of its costs. This is due to the fact that any activity, and especially production, requires significant expenditure of resources. The functioning of the enterprise and its competitiveness directly depend on the level of operating costs. In a market economy, costs are the basis for choosing the best of alternative options for the development of an enterprise and making balanced management decisions, a guideline for setting the price of products and a prerequisite for increasing the enterprise’s capital. The effectiveness of adaptive actions of manufacturing enterprises to changes in the economic situation in the country or the immediate industry and their ability to work stably depend to a large extent on the provision of information management systems about the state and prospects of business, existing and potential problems, and alternative directions of development. On the one hand, costs are a necessary condition for the full functioning of any enterprise, and on the other hand, they directly affect the financial result of its activity, as the foundation of the enterprise’s development, and characterize the efficiency of the use of available resources. They are diverse, constantly changing under the influence of both the internal and external environment, and have different dynamics in different periods of time. All this prompts active current and strategic cost management, the purpose of which is to realize the competitive advantages of the manufacturing enterprise and secure it in positions of stable development. Such orientation should stimulate the introduction of the latest cost management technologies, which, in turn, will contribute to successful integration into the global and European economic space. At the same time, the effective functioning of domestic management will be ensured by innovative tools that have been tested at enterprises of the developed world economy and require adaptation to the real conditions of functioning of domestic enterprises. Therefore, the problem of cost management is relevant in the economy of European and world-class enterprises and is too relevant for domestic production to ensure stable profitable activity and competitive advantages in the market of goods and services.

With the development of capital market, commercial credit has gradually become an important part of market credit. Throughout the long-term development of the manufacturing industry, commercial credit has been one of the indispensable soft powers in the process of enterprise development. Therefore, enterprises should fully recognize and use commercial credit as a new means to improve enterprise performance. This paper selects the financial data of China’s listed manufacturing enterprises from 2010 to 2019, divides commercial credit into business credit and business trust, as well as studies the relationship between commercial credit and corporate performance. The empirical results show that the business credit of manufacturing enterprises has significant positive correlation with corporate performance, but there is no significant positive correlation between business trust and corporate performance. This paper also provides effective suggestions for manufacturing enterprises to enhance commercial credit.

If an enterprise has many legal representatives, the company's charter assigns only one of them to act as a representative to participate in prosecuting business-related disputes, or if the enterprise has one legal representative, but this person is dead or missing, etc. Since then, changing the legal representative or authorizing another person to participate in proceedings has encountered many difficulties. Therefore, the Law on Enterprises of Vietnam needs to be further amended, supplemented, or guided for implementation to be more uniform and feasible in practice.

As the market economy system becomes more and more perfect, the competition among enterprises becomes more and more intense, which also puts forward serious challenges to the operation and development of enterprises. Scientific management is the inexhaustible power of enterprise development, and enterprise development strategy, as an important component of the enterprise management system, directly affects the overall quality of the enterprise's operation, which in turn is related to the improvement of the enterprise's comprehensive strength. Only by continuously growing its comprehensive strength can an enterprise stand out among many other enterprises and seize more shares in the market. Therefore, when developing business and managing internal work, enterprises should analyze the influencing factors of strategy execution and take effective measures to improve strategy execution on this basis, so as to better play the role of strategic decisions to promote the development of enterprises.

A business plan serves two main functions: One is to provide a set of guidelines and expectations for running the business and the other would be to request funding from either a traditional or non-traditional lending source. Most business plans consist of the executive summary, business description, market analyses, management team, operations, and financial projections. Stephenson Enterprises is in the process of obtaining funding for a start-up business that will manufacture a biodegradable low cost substitute loose-fill packaging material. Due to the relatively high cost of this start-up, external funding is necessary. The first choice is to approach a large bank with the business plan, secondary choices if necessary would include smaller banks. The third choice would be alternative funding such as nonprofit organizations that provide start-up funding, however many of these are limited in the amount they lend. In order to garner funding for this entrepreneurship, it was decided that a business plan was needed. A business plan has two primary functions. One function is to set forth some guidelines as to how a firm is operated as well as what is projected. The second, and perhaps most often the reason a business plan is developed is to secure funding from a financial institution. Within the business plan a myriad of financial data was gathered to include: financial analysis, financial projections, cash flow, balance sheet, break-even analysis, sales proforma, income statements and sensitivity analyses. In addition to the financial data, a market analysis was conducted to provide insight into the local market. This business plan will not only provide an estimate of financials but will also serve as a guide book for operating the business.

Research into sports mega-events, of which the Olympics is the modern archetype, has often focused on the macro-economic and regional economic effects of hosting the Games. This research suggests that the local promoters and organisers of the event seldom, if ever, fulfil their promises. Drawing upon sport management, economic, and socio-historical analyses this thesis examines the economic trends and activities that occur within the business enterprises that are associated directly and indirectly with the Olympic Games. The thesis examines the commercial strength of the Olympic brand and how the brand has managed to evolve from being an instrument of peace and goodwill to a transnational nongovernmental commercial giant of imposing power and influence. The thesis provides an overview of the historical relationship between business and the Olympics and specifically analyses how business has engaged with the Olympics since the 1980s. Using London 2012 as a case study it attempts to assess how far London 2012 was good for business in the UK by examining the published accounts of the sponsors and suppliers of the Games. It also assesses the regional impact of the Games by looking at small and medium sized business enterprises (SMEs) in the south-east and the north-west. The results suggest that claims for a positive business impact from the Olympic Games are largely unwarranted. While the Olympics can be a catalyst for economic change, it should be viewed as a singular investment within a broader strategy for development. As a single event, the Olympics cannot guarantee a widespread economic impact on either major corporations or SMEs.

South Africa has a complex financial and retail service industry with high reliance on the use of IT systems to ensure effectiveness and maintainability. Decision making and improved outcomes may be done through an IT aligned enterprise architecture (EA) strategy. EA is a capability that contributes to the support and success of an organisations' IT. Organisations are currently using EA to better align IT and the business strategy which provides a comprehensive v.ew of the IT system. Thus, EA is increasing in organisations yet the measurement and value of EA is limited to organisations and enterprise architects. The discussions of the benefits and value of EA has been discussed for several years, however there are still no consensus about how the benefits and value of EA can be measured. The lack and clear understanding of the benefits and value of EA needs to consider different aspects of IT as well as the shareholders when measuring the benefits and value of EA to an organisation.

Annotation:
Family businesses are major contributors to the economies of most countries and are known to be one of the best performing, most prevalent and resilient forms of business throughout the world. Despite their importance and based on the vast amount of research done in the field of family businesses, this form of business appears to be laden with challenges and is short-lived. Amongst others, one of the most fundamental challenges and contributors to the short-lived nature, and thus high failure rate of family businesses is poor succession planning. In order to address this challenge, the Successful Transgenerational Entrepreneurship Practices (STEP) research framework was developed to ascertain the factors that contribute to entrepreneurial performance and the effective transgenerational potential and success of family businesses globally. Transgenerational potential, entrepreneurial performance, the external mediating factors influencing family businesses, Entrepreneurial Orientation (EO) and the Resource Based View (RBV) of familiness resource pools are the components that make up the STEP research framework. By adopting the STEP research framework, the primary objective of this study is to establish how a transgenerational family business creates new economic activity over time by using and transferring familiness resource pools from one generation to the next. Due to the primary focus of the study being to research familiness resource pools and how they generate transgenerational potential for family businesses, this component of the STEP research framework is investigated in detail. The literature review therefore highlights the eight dimensions of familiness resource pools, namely: leadership, networks, capital, decision-making, culture, relationships, governance and knowledge, and are the main focus of this study. An interpretivism research paradigm is selected for this study. Interpretivism paradigms are associated with qualitative research methodologies. Owing to the fact that much still remains to be discovered in terms of familiness and familiness resource pools, a descriptive, single-case study is the type of research method undertaken. The sample is identified based on non-probability purposive sampling as per the strict guidelines of the STEP project. The sample size in this study consisted of one family business operating in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. The STEP interview schedule, which consists of semi-structured questions, is the research instrument used to collect the necessary data from five participants involved in the family business (a prominent motorcar dealership). Once all the data is collected, a combination of directed content analysis and explanation building are used to analyse the data. The findings of the study reveal that the leadership values present in the family business stem from that of the founder. Contrary to the current CEO’s beliefs that the family business investigated operates primarily under his participative leadership style, the interviews reveal that while the CEO does demonstrate participative leadership, his leadership style is somewhat autocratic in nature. This autocratic leadership style has caused the employees and the business as a whole, to become too reliant on the CEO, especially in terms of strategic decision-making, which may be a threat to the future succession of the business. The CEO’s expert leadership however, ensures that the business adheres to strict guidelines in terms of employing the best person for the job, regardless of whether the candidates are family members or not. As such, the prominent motorcar dealership is marketed as a family business and together under the family leadership, has helped attract customers and well qualified non-family employees to the business. While there is ample leadership available within the business, the lack of succession planning is reiterated to be a major threat facing the future of the business. Almost all of the original networks established by the founder in the prominent motorcar dealership studied still exist in the business in 2014. It is established that employees, especially those in the third generation, are encouraged to build their own networks within their relevant spheres of responsibility. Moreover, the business family’s history, reputation and goodwill have helped create and establish networks for the family business, especially within the Eastern Cape. These networks have helped the business drive sales and have contributed to the success of the business.

However, the research outcomes revealed that provision of start-up manufacturing enterprise work outcomes is related to the teamwork factor – both belief in joint work, common understanding about the expected outcomes, mutual trust and support. Research limitations – direct start-up enterprises, which have registered their activity in one of the sub-sectors of the NACE (Rev. 2) Group C “Manufacturing Industry” and receive the support provided by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia Business Incubator for their start-up activity in Latvia, without exceeding a 4-year incubation period, have been chosen for the research. Practical implications – the research outcomes point to the need of Business Incubators of Investment and Development of Latvia to provide not only tangible opportunities for start-up manufacturing enterprises for the business idea development during the incubation period, but also practical knowledge on team building during the business start-up process. Originality/Value – Unlike other studies that are mostly focused on hard benefits in enterprises, as well as in start-ups, this is a specific research which provides insights on whether teamwork is recognized as an important factor of startup manufacturing companie work provision in relation to technological and external risks during the business start-up process and its work result achievement

A company can be considered sustainable when it pursues its goals while maintaining ecological balance, and employee and community well-being. This perception of enterprise activities results from the spread of the concept of sustainable development, according to which enterprises should not only achieve their own goals, but also address the needs of a wide range of stakeholders. The transformation of enterprises towards sustainability is a difficult and multidimensional process. It requires changes in operation of an enterprise, e.g., including environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into its business model. This article aims to show the process of transformation of Polish enterprises towards sustainability. The article analyzes ESG activities of companies from industries with different impact on the environment (chemical and banking) in 2021-2022. The results show that companies are aware of the need to include ESG factors in their business model. The scope and nature of the activities depend on the financial situation of the enterprise and its needs. In industries with a strong impact on the environment, environmental investments are more important. The activities of the enterprises over the analyzed years did not change significantly, suggesting determination in implementing the adopted strategy consistent with the sustainable development.

We employ the “social conditions of innovative enterprise” framework to analyze the key determinants of China’s development path from the economic reforms of 1978 to the present. First, we focus on how government investments in human capabilities and physical infrastructure provided foundational support for the emergence of Chinese enterprises capable of technological learning. Second, we delve into the main modes by which Chinese firms engaged in technological learning from abroad—joint ventures with foreign multinationals, global value chains, and experienced high-tech returnees—that have contributed to industrial development in China. Third, we provide evidence on achievements in indigenous innovation—by which we mean improvements in national productive capabilities that build on learning from abroad and enable the innovating firms to engage in global competition—in the computer, automobile, communication-technology, and semiconductor-fabrication industries. Finally, we sketch out the implications of our approach for current debates on the role of innovation in China’s development path as it continues to unfold.

In the future, more attention will be paid to the structural injustices that women face, to change enterprise practices and generate evidence to influence institutional change so that women can exercise their agency and claim their rights. Increasing the number of women in paid jobs can only be meaningful when unpaid care and domestic work and gender-based violence are recognized and action is taken to address them.
