Especially, the convenient characteristics of folding bicycle make it be the most popular green product. In order to create new customer groups, business must understand the demand of new markets; determine the segmentation and product line strategy that can increase profit. The thesis applied Quality Function Deployment(QFD)to help product development, product design and customer requirement management of bolding bicycle. Also, used Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP)to gain the weight of customers’ requirement. Finally, used Cluster Analysis to separate customers into market segment, found different customers’ preferences and came out a useful strategy for the segments to increase customer satisfaction. The result of this thesis showed that segment 3, 4, 6 are different from common cognition. Segment 3 “electrical folding bicycle”, There are no well-known companies providing electrical folding bicycles in Taiwan, but this product line has a great potential to increase the profit of a company. Segment 4 “good-looks folding bicycle”, design and appearance are the most attractive factors to this segmentation, so company can provide folding bicycles which is good looking and not expensive to fulfill this requirement. Segment 6 “Price and convenient folding bicycle”, this segmentation focus on the price and the easy-carrying ability of folding bicycles. The rise in recent years to enhance the public awareness of environmental protection and sports and leisure fashion, the bike has become the preferred outdoor sports people, but the material currently on the market there are different bikes, because the manufacturers constantly replacing old ones, and bicycles easy to start to form A consumer-oriented products, and in order to keep carbon reduction trend over a period of time you want to replace a bicycle, a waste of resources, resulting in a lot of waste, so that environmentally friendly intention was destroyed, this study In the four markets with different materials prepared in the frame as the object of study, which is made of chrome-molybdenum steel, titanium, aluminum and carbon-fiber frame, to identify the concerns of different materials on the impact of bicycle and explore these results suggest that the future direction of the environment as the product of design. This study takes advantage of the concept of life cycle assessment, application life cycle assessment software Simapro and select Eco-Indicator 99 as impact analysis, life-cycle bikes for different materials evaluation and analysis. In this study, the impact of the four kinds of materials were analyzed and compared bicycle, where D car made of carbon fiber frame process with very different characteristics and the other three bikes, and more with plenty of polymeric material is made, so the impact of higher than other frame nearly 40 times, if the car excluded D, exhibit the highest aluminum alloy frame vehicle impact point B, the weight of the lightest car B but since prominent increasing the rigidity and reduce the weight of the material characteristics, will need to add aluminum (Al) to vanadium (V) element, an aluminum element in this discovery, is the main material in three different bike, causing the bicycle to the main cause of environmental impact.

Bicycle is extremely popular and provides a very important means of transportation in Taiwan. The biggest threat to bicyclist is the head injury in a bicycle accident. Annually, there were 800 deaths and 17 000 hospitalizations resulting from bicycle accidents in USA. In Taiwan, there were around 304 head injury cases related to bicycle accidents every year. Bicyclists are urged to protect themselves in the event of a bicycle accident by wearing helmets. A bicycle helmet should maintain the desirable performance, which is reducing the head acceleration during impacts. Therefore, bicycle helmets are tested to ensure a minimum level of performance by the helmet for a range of criteria that affect safety. To test the energy absorbing capabilities of helmet, the results of the linear acceleration of the headform is measured during the impact test. Firstly, this study constructs a finite element model of helmet impact test using LS-DYNA software based on the EN 1078:2006、CPSC and SNELL B95 standard. To verify the accuracy of the proposed numerical model to simulate impact test, simulation results are compared with those obtained from experimental tests. The comparison results indicate that the proposed numerical model of impact test has considerable potential for evaluating the performance and safety effectiveness of helmet. During an accident, the main part of a helmet responsible for shock absorption is the energy absorbing liner. To determine a structure of liner that reaches high effective protection, helmet models with new liner material were considered. A comparative study of different liner materials on the impact performance has been performed using FE simulation based on three standards. The analyzed results indicated that the Expanded Polypropylene(EPP) liner material dominates over other liner materials. This new helmet liner material demonstrated high energy-absorbing capabilities. The design guideline obtained in this study may serve as a useful reference for designers on future development of helmet safety technologies. Furthermore, the finite element model of helmet impact test can be useful to evaluate the shock-absorption abilities.

After 2008, Taiwan''s bicycle heat wave, the demand for bike commuter move into the stage of recreational sports. Two years later, media reports bike hot fever is cooling down while the number of participants in Taiwan''s major cycling events have increased every year. This trend spread to the parents and children cycling around the island, cycling rite ... and so on, cycling seems to have become the dream of life, the performance of self-realization. This study explors six different geographic areas of consumer life style, whether the acts of buying a bike are different, and whether demographic variables on consumer behavior impact, and provides marketing aspects of the proposal for the industry. Lifestyle variables in this study are divided into three clusters of respondents (warm pleasure group, home group, and the courage to challenge groups of men and women), with different clusters, demographic and geographic variables as independent variables of the marketing strategy. The scope and object of the six geographical regions based on six areas of Taiwan whom have purchased a bicycle or consumers would like to purchase in the future. Written questionnaires with a total of 720 copies were distributed, 488 questionnaires were valid. Statistical software used SPSS12.0 for grouping the variables after factor analysis of information on lifestyle variables, and data reduction. One Way ANOVA to test the hypothesis. Analysis of Correlation of demographic variables to test hypotheses, and One Way ANOVA of geographical variables to test of the research hypothesis. The research results indicate as follows: 1.Different cluster of consumers for marketing mix strategy (product, price, place, promotion and public relations) were significantly different. 2.Gender and product, price and public relations show a high degree of correlation; education and promotion are highly related; annual income are highly associated with the distribution channel. 3.Consumers with different geographic variables in the marketing mix strategy (product, price, place, promotion and public relations) are significantly different.

The purpose of this research is to review the problems faced by Taipei’s current bicycle-life development through the author’s personal experience as a bicycle lover and the discussion about bicycle development plans in the Netherlands and the municipality in the Netherlands, in the province of Utrecht – Houten. The primary research motivation came about when the researcher, who has long cycled between home and Taipei, discovered that the development of the city’s modern bicycle policy was overly rigid and still secondary to a planning concept centered around motor vehicles, resulting in the needs and expectations of city cyclists not being fully met. The structure of this research can be divided into three parts: First, according to literature analysis and the researcher’s experience, the three factors affecting city residents’ bicycle riding can be summarized as “safety,” “comfortability,” and “convenience.” After individual inspection, it is apparent that Taipei’s current developments are lacking in each factor, thus making it difficult to attract residents to ride their bikes in the city. Secondly, it was discovered through case discussion that the primary reason the Netherlands is able to successfully promote bicycle riding among citizens is that it has an advantageous policy, economy, social culture, and natural environment, and their government clearly places bicycles at the forefront of transportation development policy. Comparing the experience of the Netherlands and Taipei, it is apparent that the problem with Taipei’s current bicycle policy implementation lies within its lack of a comprehensive planning concept and its hardware construction being mostly in the experimental phase. At the same time, ordinary citizens’ over-reliance on motor vehicles is the root of the problem. Finally, experimental prospective planning and design operations are being implemented in downtown Taipei and put forward the concept of “bicycle-life area” to provide relevant organizations new ways of thought and methods of planning in future bicycle policy development. Therefore, this research concludes that if Taipei is to truly carry out the goal of “bicycle-integrated life,” it must grasp the following main points: 1. Take into consideration the station distribution of Taipei’s mass transportation system and the length/habits of city residents’ daily bicycle rides, and build a “bicycle-life area” for cyclists to safely ride by re-adjusting the road transportation system and the boundaries of where daily life activities occur. 2. The bicycle road network should be connected to public places and areas frequented by people in their daily lives, such as schools, mass transportation stations, parks, etc. Use the strategy of establishing transfer areas to supply people with convenient and highly effective travel methods. 3. Encourage businesses and government organizations to plan restrooms in public areas and the workplace in order to improve the comfortability of cyclists after their ride.

Due to Taiwan People are paying more attention to well-being and health-care these years, many citizen ride bicycles as a leisure activity. As a result, the demands for bicycles are rising as well. This research focus to examine whether the lifestyles of consumers have been influenced on their purchase decisions of bicycles also sets to explore whether demographic variables exhibit any influence on the purchase decisions of consumers. Finally, this research provides more suggestions for marketing efforts in the bicycle market. This research refers to lifestyle variables and demographic variables as independent variables and applies the AIO lifestyle variables as the classification reference. It then describes the consumers’ behaviour by using purchase decision variables, such as purchase decisions, purchase motivations and purchase evaluation criteria, in order to analyze the characteristics of consumers. This research samples mainly the consumers who have bought bicycles in Taipei City and County. Questionnaires are released in hard copy and through the Internet. A total of 251 questionnaires are issued and 216 effective ones are recovered. This research runs SPSS12.0 (a statistical software package) to conduct a factor analysis on lifestyle variables, purchase motivation variables, and variables concerning assessment criteria. Data is condenses and variables are grouped before the research hypotheses are validated with Regression Analyses, One-Way ANOVA and Chi-Square Tests. According to the research, the consumers who have purchased bicycles can be classified into two lifestyle types, i.e. regimen and fashion pursuing. Purchase motivation variables are grouped into two types, i.e. health-oriented and convenience-oriented. There are four purchase assessment variables, i.e. prices-oriented, functions-oriented, services-oriented and discounts-oriented. There are correlations between the variables concerning lifestyles, purchase motivations, purchase assessment criteria and demographics.

The purpose of the study was to analyze the behavior of bicycle consumer, including their life style, product involvement and how the above factors contribute to bicycle purchasing decisions. A questionnaire survey was conducted, on a basis of 332 bicycle consumer from central Taiwan, to identify key elements which influence consumer’s decision-making. Life Styles, Product Involvement and Purchasing Decisions are the three dimensions to analyze the behaviors of the target consumer. The researches find that Opinions accounts for a major factor in the dimension of Life Style. In the dimension of Product Involvement, Recognizing Risks yields the highest score while The Importance of Bicycles is considered as a relatively minor factor. Program Evaluation, which achieves an upper average score, outperforms the other factors in the dimensions of Purchasing Decisions. Purchasing Option provided by bicycle channels gains the lowest mark in this dimension. Specifically, gender, age, education, and income levels of the consumers indicate a significant difference in Product Involvement. It is also notable that marriage status, age, and occupations of the consumers show a significant difference in Life Style. Finally, results suggest that both Life Style and Product Involvement of the consumers have substantial impacts on making purchasing decisions. In particular, the factor, Activity, shows a significant influence on the Life Style of consumers. As for Product Involvement, Pleasure Value has a strong favorable effect on it. For future implementation, customization of the product and segmentation of the market based on the lifestyle of bicycle consumer are discussen
