Der volle Inhalt der QuelleBackground: Homosexuality historically had a series of laws that spoke against their human rights. In Sweden, a healthcare law about fair treatment exists, however, not everyone got the same care. A nurse's key area of expertise is the care and understanding of patient treatment. Aim: The aim of the literature study was to explore homosexual experiences of treatment in the meetings with healthcare professionals and to look at the included articles sample groups. Method: Literature study with descriptive design based on 12 qualitative scientific articles from the search engine MedLine and manual searches. Main results: The results showed both negative and positive experiences of meetings with healthcare professionals. The elements that influenced how the meetings were experienced were the professionals' attitudes, knowledge about the subject and usage of heteronormative words. Most of the included articles informed about the participants' ages and inclusion criteria. The largest part of participants were women and nine of twelve articles were made in Europe. Conclusion: This have shown that the treatments homosexual patients got could have been influenced by the healthcare professionals’ knowledge, attitudes and personal values. The homosexuals described both positive and negative experiences where heterosexual assumption, certain word choices and feelings of doubt have occurred. An increased knowledge and education about questions concerning homosexual’s and their experiences in the meeting with healthcare can help the undergraduate nurses to develop the capability for a more individual and positive encounter for homosexual people.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleBACKGROUND: HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is an infectious blood disease found in large parts of the world. The stigma associated with HIV is widely spread in society and can therefore impact the efficacy of the patients’ treatment. Health care providers exhibit both positive and negative attitudes towards people living with HIV. It is important to highlight the problem in order for all patients to receive an equal treatment. AIM: The aim of this study is to describe how HIV-positive individuals experience the encounter with the health care providers. METHOD: A literature based study with analysis of nine qualitative scientific articles. RESULTS: Three themes have been researched: Being met as a human being, being met in a new way and being discriminated. A positive response from health care providers is perceived when there is a sense of participation. A negative response can be perceived for example when the health care provider uses excessive precautions, when they are distancing themselves or when the health care provider refuses to give treatment. CONCLUSIONS: Increased knowledge of health care providers creates a better understanding of HIV disease and its spread, leading to reduced fears and an improvement in the treatment offered by the health care providers.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleBackground: During the 1900th century and to this day many people migrated to Sweden which have led to a multicultural society where people with different cultures are seeking medical care. The healthcare personnel need to have great understanding for how immigrated patients want to be treated to be able to give culturally competent and good care. The healthcare personnel needs to see the patient as an individual, treat with respect and take the patients background into account in the meeting. The risk of impaired treatment outcomes and impaired treatment can be reduced if the healthcare personnel have an understanding of how patients want to be treated. Immigrated patients are an exposed group in the new country and increased knowledge of how they experience the treatment of the healthcare personnel may be needed to potentially inform and improve the health care in Sweden. Aim: To describe immigrants' experience of the attitude of healthcare personnel in Sweden. Method: Literature review based on 12 qualitative scientific studies which was published on two databases Pubmed and CINAHL. Results: There were 3 main categories and 3 subcategories based on the studies .The main categories included “The experience in the meeting with healthcare personnel of the individual”, “Background and cultural background of the individual”, “The impact of communication on the treatment”. The 3 subcategories that belonged to “The experience in the meeting with healthcare personnel of the individual” included “ a feeling of safety”, “unfavorable treatment” and “Respect and understanding”. These categories describe how immigrant patients experience the treatment of healthcare personnel in Sweden. The patients had a positive perception about the treatment when the healthcare personnel listened, took them seriously and saw them as individuals which created a trust to the healthcare. However the patients experienced a negative perception when the treatment was experienced as discriminating and disrespectful to the patient's cultural background. Conclusion: The result presented that patients with an immigrant background experienced the attitude of the healthcare personnel as both positive and negative. Health care should be adapted to the individual, patient's background and request of care to improve the treatment to the immigrated patients. Keywords: Immigrant, treatment, healthcare, experience, healthcare personnel

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleBackground: Violence in close relationships is about all types of violence between relatives and it occurs in all forms of relationships. Every Fourth woman in Sweden is subjected to violence in a close relationship. In 2017, 10 100 cases of violence against women were reported in Close relationships, there are more than 27 cases per day, but about 80 % of cases is never reported to the police. Women who have been subjected to violence in close relationships often suffer from ill-health and there is a correlation between violence and ill-health, which is why it is so important to be able to discover these and offer them help. Purpose: The aim was to describe how women subjected to violence in close relationships wish to be met by health professionals Methods: In this qualitative literature, articles were analyzed after Fribergs (2017) method of analysis. Results from each item were aggregated and divided into subcategories and categories. Result: Categories that emerged were approach, pay attention to violence and support and help. The most comprehensive finding shows that battered women want health professionals to ask them about violence. Conclusion: There is a value in that it appears that all patients are asked for no one to feel convicted or designated. Better knowledge of the subject of all health professionals also contributes to an improvement for the victims of violence who could then be met with a deeper understanding. It is important that the healthcare professional sees the problem even though it is a difficult and sensitive subject. The studies showed that the response is incredibly important for those who are subjected to violence to dare to talk about violence.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThe year 2009 approximately 5,000 people in Sweden were estimated being infected by the HIV virus. The aim of this study was to describe the experience of the HIV-positive persons of the approach of the health professionals. Eight HIV-positive people living in three major cities were recruited by network sampling through the union of Noah's Ark and were interviewed. A qualitative approach and manifest content analysis was used. The analysis brought forth three domains: positive attitude, negative attitude and neutral attitude, which in turn created seven categories with two to four sub-categories in each. The study found that respondents mostly felt that they received professional care and were met with respect. However, there were also perceptions of a negative response in the form of accusatory attitudes and prejudices outside specialist care. To reduce the stigma outside the specialized care, more knowledge and training of health professionals about the disease HIV is needed.
