Summary: Clinical practices, both private and academic, need to be profitable to sustain themselves and grow. To manage them and drive profits, one needs leadership that has a well-rounded understanding of multiple facets. When business decisions are based on financial data alone, they meet the goal of profit margin but alienate clinicians; when made using clinical data alone, they fulfill the clinical mission but ignore the bottom line. Here, we explain the benefits of a sound business-minded leadership that integrates the nuances of financial data, the cadence of clinical practices, and the value of resources, and makes meaningful business decisions. These decisions create a strong bond between physicians and their administrative leaders, aligning their “mission” (provide better care), and their “margin” (profitability and growth). We explain critical aspects of each source of information and how to use them together to make business decisions. Recognizing that clinicians may not have access to methods of financial analysis, we also supply a prepopulated Excel spreadsheet that has all equations baked in, so that it can be readily used, filling in their own data to generate financial ratios. This work explains how sound decisions can be made using financial metrics, clinical data (here, plastic surgery), and resource utilization, to identify areas that can be improved and take steps to achieve results.

In order to address some deployment problems of IP multicast, the notion of Multicast Service Overlay Network (MSON) is proposed. How to construct MSON satisfying user’s demand efficiently under the situation of limited resources is a hot issue. In this paper we analyze a mathematics model of MSON construction. Under the objective of finding a virtual topology on top of physical network fulfilling all restrictions, and minimizing the cost of construction while keeping residual physical network the most balanced, an Integer Linear Programming model of the construction problem is depicted. In order to solve the problem efficiently, we propose a heuristics algorithm named BLMH. The efficiency of BLMH is evaluated by emulation experiment according to congestion link number under several scenarios.

Nutritional intake in children plays an important role in optimizing growth and development in children. The adequacy of nutritional intake in children can be assessed by the state of nutritional status characterized by thin, normal, and obese children. One of the roles of parents is to be responsible for fulfilling nutrition for their children. The desire of parents to fulfill their children's nutritional needs is often the background of inappropriate feeding practices. Inappropriate feeding practices include always fulfilling a child's desire to consume the food he wants, even many parents allow whatever food their child consumes, many parents serve ready-to-eat food Lack of nutritious food will lead to child growth retardation , the prevalence of malnutrition in 2013 was 19.6%, consisting of 5.7% malnutrition and 13.9% malnutrition. When compared with the national prevalence rate in 2010 (17.9%), it seems that this is increasing. The aim of this study is to know the relationship between the role of parents in preparing a balanced menu with the nutritional status of children. The design used is a literature review, namely by using several journals from several sources such as: Google Scholar, PubMed. The keywords used to perform the search are "Balanced Menu with Child Nutritional Status" for international articles used to search is "Balanced With Children's Menu. Market equilibrium is a price agreement that occurs in a market system between sellers and buyers with a mechanism of bargaining. The presence of demand and supply encourages a bargaining process aimed at obtaining a balanced price. The market can be said to get a price balance when the asking price matches the bid price. The process of demand and supply is also in the perspective of Islamic economics. The research method used in this research is library research or literature research. The results of the study show that in Islamic economics there are conditions related to the Al-Qur'an and Hadith, namely the concept of a good economy and in accordance with Islamic teachings. Aiming at the stalemate that precision, speed, robustness, and other parameters constrain each other in the parallel processed vision servo system, this paper proposed an adaptive load capacity balance strategy on the servo parameters optimization algorithm (ALBPO) to improve the computing precision and to achieve high detection ratio while not reducing the servo circle. We use load capacity functions (LC) to estimate the load for each processor and then make continuous self-adaptation towards a balanced status based on the fluctuatedLCresults; meanwhile, we pick up a proper set of target detection and location parameters according to the results ofLC. Compared with current load balance algorithm, the algorithm proposed in this paper is proceeded under an unknown informed status about the maximum load and the current load of the processors, which means it has great extensibility. Simulation results showed that the ALBPO algorithm has great merits on load balance performance, realizing the optimization of QoS for each processor, fulfilling the balance requirements of servo circle, precision, and robustness of the parallel processed vision servo system.

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused various problems, one of which is mental health problems. Unmantained mental health can cause a decrease in the immune system and can facilitate the transmission of Covid-19. One way to increase immunity is to eat a balanced diet containing the healthy nutrients. Therefore, it is necessary to educate the public to maintain mental health and increase immunity through the fulfillment of nutrition to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Evaluation were conducted at the beginning and at the end in the form of a quiz. Then the quiz results were analyzed descriptively and comparatively using the Wilcoxon method. 228 participants who took part in webinar activities with subtopics on mental health experienced an increase in knowledge from before participating in this activity with a percentage of 46.7%, and 234 participants experienced an increase in knowledge from before participating in the webinar activity with a subtopic of increasing body immunity through nutritional fulfillment with a percentage of 47.9%. The Wilcoxon test showed that there was a significant increase in knowledge about mental health and body immunity before and after attending the webinar (p = 0.000). The result is there are an increase in public knowledge after the webinar is conducted. We hope that community can maintain mental health and be able to meet nutritional needs to increase immunity during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Background.A “balanced” time perspective has been suggested to have a positive influence on well-being: a sentimental and positive view of the past (high Past Positive), a less pessimistic attitude toward the past (low Past Negative), the desire of experiencing pleasure with slight concern for future consequences (high Present Hedonistic), a less fatalistic and hopeless view of the future (low Present Fatalistic), and the ability to find reward in achieving specific long-term goals (high Future). We used the affective profiles model (i.e., combinations of individuals’ experience of high/low positive/negative affectivity) to investigate differences between individuals in time perspective dimensions and to investigate if the influence of time perspective dimensions on well-being was moderated by the individual’s type of profile.Method.Participants (N= 720) answered to the Positive Affect Negative Affect Schedule, the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory and two measures of well-being: the Temporal Satisfaction with Life Scale and Ryff’s Scales of Psychological Well-Being-short version. A Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) was conducted to identify differences in time perspective dimensions and well-being among individuals with distinct affective profiles. Four structural equation models (SEM) were used to investigate which time perspective dimensions predicted well-being for individuals in each profile.Results.Comparisons between individuals at the extreme of the affective profiles model suggested that individuals with a self-fulfilling profile (high positive/low negative affect) were characterized by a “balanced” time perspective and higher well-being compared to individuals with a self-destructive profile (low positive/high negative affect). However, a different pattern emerged when individuals who differed in one affect dimension but matched in the other were compared to each other. For instance, decreases in the past negative time perspective dimension lead to high positive affect when negative affect is high (i.e., self-destructive vs. high affective) but to low negative affect when positive affect was high (i.e., high affective vs. self-fulfilling). The moderation analyses showed, for example, that for individuals with a self-destructive profile, psychological well-being was significantly predicted by the past negative, present fatalistic and future time perspectives. Among individuals with a high affective or a self-fulfilling profile, psychological well-being was significantly predicted by the present fatalistic dimension.Conclusions.The interactions found here go beyond the postulation of a “balanced” time perspective being the only way to promote well-being. Instead, we present a more person-centered approach to achieve higher levels of emotional, cognitive, and psychological well-being.

Adolescent stress, anxiety, and self-harm behaviors are on the rise, and the consequences have significant implications for how youth engage in school. While the data trends paint a worrisome picture of rising student stress and disengagement, evidence shows that listening to the voices and concerns of youth and implementing research-based reforms can support students to live balanced and academically fulfilling lives. Understanding the adolescent student experience reveals numerous areas for policy and practice solutions that can lead to healthier outcomes. Student experience data both explains what is happening and points to solutions.

Purpose and research question: The present study investigated whether there was any significant difference between balanced bilinguals, dominant bilinguals, limited bilinguals and monolinguals in the application of metacognitive linguistic skills while doing a reading comprehension task in the additional (English) language. Namely, how do different degrees of bilingualism affect metacognitive linguistic skills? Methodology: The present study examined three domains of metacognitive reading process (planning, monitoring and evaluating), as well as the overall use of metacognitive reading strategies. Four groups of participants (30 seventh grade students in each group) completed a Metacognitive Reading Strategies Questionnaire, aimed at measuring their metacognitive awareness in each domain after fulfilling a reading comprehension task in English. Data analysis: A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) was used in order to test the differences within groups and between groups. Findings and conclusions: Level of metacognitive reading awareness was affected by the degree of bilingualism. There was a positive influence of balanced (reading and writing skills in the second language) and imbalanced (oral skills in the second language) degrees of bilingualism on metacognitive linguistic abilities. A balanced degree of bilingualism exerted the greatest influence on most of the metacognitive reading domains (planning, monitoring and the total use of metacognitive strategies). Significance: A significant advantage of balanced bilinguals over all other groups was revealed. Level of metacognitive reading awareness was affected by the degree of bilingualism. Thus, bilingual education should be taken seriously due to its positive effect on all aspects of thinking and learning. Results provided additional support to the notion that bilingualism had a positive impact on the metacognitive linguistic skills. Moreover, the balance between the languages appeared to be a significant variable. Thus, balanced bilinguals, who possessed the highest competence in the second language, showed the best performance in the domains of planning, monitoring and overall use of metacognitive reading strategies. Limited bilinguals, on the contrary, demonstrated the lowest scores in the mentioned domains. The findings also revealed the absence of any considerable difference between the groups in the domain of evaluating.

Abrupt sunlight reduction scenarios (ASRS) following catastrophic events, such as a nuclear war, a large volcanic eruption or an asteroid strike, could prompt global agricultural collapse. There are low-cost foods that could be made available in an ASRS: resilient foods. Nutritionally adequate combinations of these resilient foods are investigated for different stages of a scenario with an effective response, based on existing technology. While macro- and micronutrient requirements were overall met, some—potentially chronic—deficiencies were identified (e.g., vitamins D, E and K). Resilient sources of micronutrients for mitigating these and other potential deficiencies are presented. The results of this analysis suggest that no life-threatening micronutrient deficiencies or excesses would necessarily be present given preparation to deploy resilient foods and an effective response. Careful preparedness and planning—such as stock management and resilient food production ramp-up—is indispensable for an effective response that not only allows for fulfilling people’s energy requirements, but also prevents severe malnutrition.

This article aims to analyze national policies on food and nutrition in the family food fulfillment practices in Aceh. Various programs to address food and nutrition problems have been made but nutrition problems have not been successfully resolved. The results of the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riset Kesehatan Dasar, Riskesdas) showed that the prevalence of stunting for baby under two years old in Aceh is the highest in Indonesia. This article was based on Foucauldian theory and a qualitative approach, through interviews with 40 families having children under five years old to recall the type of food consumed by all family members for 3 x 24 hours The results show that there is a gap between the practice of fulfilling family food in Aceh and national policies on food and nutrition. The practice of fulfilling family food is focused on carbohydrates and animal protein, while the government promotes the fulfillment of a balanced diet between carbohydrates and proteins (animal and vegetable) with vegetables and fruits. The gap occurs because of differences in the discourses of the power of the body and benefits of food. The community understands that food aims to make the body able to function properly (body productivity discourse). Meanwhile, the government aims for the human body to grow and develop ideally to avoid degenerative diseases (healthy body discourse). Family food fulfillment practices depend on the power of women’s knowledge, especially mothers’ who have the main role in fulfilling family food.

Abstract Stunting has become a current nutritional issue among toddlers in this global era. Consequently, the Indonesian government strives to reduce the incidence of stunting through specific and sensitive dietary interventions. Husband's support is essential for pregnant women in fulfilling balanced nutritional needs, where the husband's role is significant. This study aims to determine the relationship between a husband's support and the fulfillment of balanced nutritional needs in preventing stunting. This research uses a cross-sectional design conducted at Rejosari Public Health Center in June-July 2023. The study sample comprised 105 respondents who met the inclusion criteria and were selected using probability sampling techniques. The applied analysis method is the bivariate Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. The study results show that most respondents have normal energy consumption (64.8%). Husband's support was in the high category in the informational (73.3%), appraisal (73.3%), and emotional (73.3%) dimensions. However, 60% of respondents in the instrumental dimension stated they received support in the low category. Husband's support in the form of informational support (p= 0.104), instrumental support (p=0.429), appraisal support (p= 0.051), and emotional support (p= 0.325) was not related to fulfilling pregnant women's balanced nutritional needs. The overall family support variable analysis yielded a p-value of 0.425, indicating no relationship between the husband's support and the fulfillment of balanced nutritional needs in pregnant women. The importance of a holistic approach in nutritional intervention programs is emphasized, involving both husband's support and other factors such as nutritional education, access to quality food sources, and broader social and health support.

Abstract Consumers purchase products with the objective of reducing pain, increasing pleasure or both. Product aesthetics primarily contribute to enhancing consumer pleasure, and utilitarian attributes, such as product functionality, primarily help reduce consumer pain. So the question is how consumers choose between the goals of reducing pain and enhancing pleasure. In the case of functional dominance, consumers attach greater importance to fulfilling their minimum utilitarian needs over their minimum hedonic ones. By contrast, if consumers have to choose between two products, and one product meets their minimum functional requirement but exceeds their minimum aesthetic expectations, while the other meets their minimum aesthetic expectations but exceeds their minimum functional requirement, they select the product with superior aesthetics. A balanced design with an optimal combination of attributes and emotional experiences will reach a greater price on the market and insure higher profits.

To establish a correlation between spin diffusion, spin lifetime, and electron density, we study spin polarization evolution in low-dimensional GaAs semiconductors hosting two-dimensional electron gases by employing time-resolved magneto-optical Kerr effect microscopy. It is shown that for the establishment of the longest spin-lifetime, the variation in the scattering rate with electron density is of more importance than fulfilling the persistent spin helix condition when the Rashba α and Dresselhaus β parameters are balanced. More specifically, regardless of α and β linear dependencies on the electron density, the spin relaxation rate is determined by the spin diffusion coefficient that depends on electron density nonmonotonously. The longest experimental spin-lifetime occurs at an electron density, corresponding to transition from Boltzmann to Fermi–Dirac statistics, which is several times higher than that when the persistent spin helix is expected. These facts highlight the role the electron density may play when considering applications for spintronic devices.
