Zato je bila Poletna andragoška šola z naslovom Izobraževanje odraslih in lokalni razvoj postavljena v manjši slovenski kraj zunaj središča. Sigurnosne službe u Sjevernoj Makedoniji imaju dugu tradiciju, počevši od kraja Drugog svjetskog rata. U svom razvoju, a posebno od neovisnosti do danas, sigurnosne službe pretrpjele su nekoliko promjena, neke od njih samo kozmetičke, a neke su ukinute ili transformirane u nove. Te su promjene bile determinirane povijesnim i društvenim promjenama s jedne strane, ali i razvojem sigurnosnih prijetnji i metoda i načina provođenja djela povezanih s terorizmom i drugim hibridnim prijetnjama, s druge strane. Danas, slijedeći svoje tendencije ka članstvu u EU, budući da je već postala članicom NATO saveza, Sjeverna Makedonija daje sve od sebe da sigurnosni sektor, a posebno obavještajne i protuobavještajne službe, podigne na višu razinu i približi se svijetu sigurnosni standardi. Kao rezultat toga, posljednjih su godina uspostavljene nove službe i očekuju se promjene u nekim od postojećih obavještajnih službi.

Národní lékařská knihovna (NLK) od roku 2008 digitalizuje ze-jména starší monografie a periodika, které jsou ohrožené rozpa-dem nekvalitního kyselého papíru, poškozené častým používá-ním nebo nevhodným uložením. Zpřístupnění digitalizovaných dokumentů se řídí Autorským zákonem. Volná díla, na něž se nevztahují autorská ani nakladatelská práva, jsou zpřístupněna online. Autorsky chráněná díla, která jsou chráněna autorskými či nakladatelskými právy - 70 let od úmrtí autora a 50 let od vydání, noviny a časopisy 70 let od vydání - lze prohlížet a tisk-nout pouze lokálně na počítačích v NLK. NLK zpřístupňuje di-gitalizovaná díla prostřednictvím Digitální knihovny NLK, která je provozována v open source systému Kramerius. Celkem je nyní v Digitální knihovně NLK 1 705 415 digitalizovaných stran, z nichž 753 562 stran je volně přístupných.V letošním roce knihovny v ČR nabídnou uživatelům novou službu, tzv. zpřístupnění děl nedostupných na trhu, které je umožněno díky novele autorského zákona z roku 2017. Pro-střednictvím této služby budou moci uživatelé přistupovat k dosud nedostupným digitalizovaným knihám a časopisům, a to nejdříve z knihoven, které se ke službě připojí, a následně i vzdáleným přístupem. Uživatelé tak získají přístup ke knihám, které nejsou dostupné na trhu 6 měsíců, a k periodikům starším 10 let.V roce 2019 využilo Digitální knihovnu NLK přes 48 tisíc uži-vatelů, kteří si prohlédli přes 107 tisíc digitalizovaných stran. Obsah Digitální knihovny NLK je možné prohlížet na počítačích, tabletech i mobilních zařízeních. Digitalizované dokumenty NLK jsou též integrovány do České digitální knihovny, která zpřístupňuje digitalizovaný obsah českých knihoven z jednoho místa.

This study presents the effect of PolyVinyl Alcohol Cement Fluid Loss Additive (PVA FLAC) on the API Filtration property of a cement slurry. In Cementing operations of oil wells, different type of fluid loss agents and chemicals are used based on the condition of the wells. PVA FLAC recently introduced in Kurdistan oil industry as loss agent additive to reduce the API Filtration Rate and fluid loss of the cement slurry. Four cementing formulations with different concentration of PVA FLAC additive prepared and their API filtration rates are measured. The results showed that when adding 1.94 gm, 2.91 gm and 3.88 gm of PVA FLAC additive to the cement slurry, the API Filtration Rate reduced by %17, %29 and %42, respectively. The new concentration significantly reduced the rate of filtration when compared to using only 0.97 gm of PVA FLAC additive.

AbstractCellulose-based polymers have been successfully used in many areas of petroleum engineering especially in enhanced oil recovery drilling fluid, fracturing and cementing. This paper presents the application of cellulose-based polymer in oil well cementing. These polymers work as multifunctional additive in cement slurry that reduce the quantity of additives and lessen the operational cost of cementing operation. The viscosity of cellulose polymers such as hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC) has been determined at various temperatures to evaluate the thermal degradation. Moreover, polymers are incorporated in cement slurry to evaluate the properties and affect in cement slurry at 90 °C. The API properties like rheology, free water separation, fluid loss and compressive strength of slurries with and without polymer have been determined at 90 °C. The experimental results showed that the viscosity of HPMC polymer was enhanced at 90 °C than other cellulose-based polymers. The comparative and experimental analyses showed that the implementation of cellulose-based polymers improves the API properties of cement slurry at 90 °C. The increased viscosity of these polymers showed high rheology that was adjusted by adding dispersant which optimizes the rheology of slurry. Further, improved API properties, i.e., zero free water separation, none sedimentation, less than 50 ml/30 min fluid loss and high compressive strength, were obtained through HEC, CMC and HPMC polymer. It is concluded that cellulose-based polymers are efficient and effective in cement slurry that work as multifunctional additive and improve API properties and cement durability. The cellulose-based polymers work as multifunctional additive that reduces the quantity of other additives in cement slurry and ultimately reduces the operational cost of cementing operation. The comparative analysis of this study opens the window for petroleum industry for proper selection of cellulose-based polymer in designing of cement slurry.

Cilj. Rad daje prikaz utjecaja tehnoloških promjena, osobito mrežne dostupnosti e-izvora znanstvenih informacija na službu međuknjižnične posudbe koristeći kao primjer podatke o međuknjižničnoj posudbi (MKP) Centra za znanstvene informacije, uz osvrt na trendove u Europi i svijetu. Pristup. Rad donosi kratak povijesni pregled razvoja službe međuknjižnične posudbe, prikaz tehnoloških promjena, s naglaskom na dostupnost građe u digitalnom formatu bilo pretplatom ili u otvorenom pristupu i promjene koje donosi, istovremeno olakšavajući proces međuknjižnične posudbe, ali i donoseći određena ograničenja. Analizirani su podaci o broju zahtjeva u Centru za znanstvene informacije Instituta Ruđer Bošković, a dat je i pregled današnje situacije u svijetu. Rezultati. Analiza je pokazala da velik broj zahtjeva za međuknjižničnom posudbom CZI bilježi sve do 2013. godine, nakon čega je registriran konstantan pad u broju zahtjeva, što je u skladu i s nekim primjerima u svijetu koji su prikazani u radu. Originalnost. Tema je obrađivana u prošlosti, no malo je novijih radova u Hrvatskoj koji obrađuju utjecaj tehnoloških promjena i digitalne građe na samu službu međuknjižnične posudbe, dajući pri tom opsežan pregled trenutnog stanja u svijetu. U svijetlu navedenih promjena su analizirani i prikazani statistički podaci međuknjižnične posudbe Centra za znanstvene informacije.

Javna služba kakvu danas poznajemo zasnovana je na North-Trevelyan izveštaju iz XIX veka koji je osudio nestručnost službenika kao posledicu nepotizma u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu. Reforme su usledile u drugoj polovini XIX veka i prvoj polovini XX veka, a paralelno su SAD eliminisale sistem plena i zamenjivale ga merit sistemom. Prema ovom sistemu zapošljavanje i napredovanje u javnoj službi zavisi od individualnih mogućnosti i zasluga. Sistem zasluga je stvoren da osigura pravedno i otvoreno zapošljavanje i konkurenciju bez političkog uticaja ili drugih faktora, poput nepotizma, subjektivnog doživljaja kandidata, itd. Odgovor na pitanje kako ocenjivanje službenika utiče na kvalitet javne uprave značajno je jer se pokazalo da različiti pristupi ocenjivanju službenika imaju različite posledice po javnu upravu, ali i da isti pristupi ocenjivanju daju različite rezultate u različitim državama. Zbog navedenog je neophodno posvetiti se istraživanju procesa ocenjivanja – od definisanja uslova za njegovo obavljanje, do analize rezultata.

At present, high temperature oil wells are known as the most problematic for cementing operation due to limitations of polymer. The polymers are significantly used as mutlifunctional additives for improving the properties of cement slurry. At high temperature, viscosity of polymer decreases and unable to obtained desired properties of cement slurry. It becomes then major cause of fluid loss and gas migration during cementing operations. Thus, it necessitates for polymers that can able to enhance viscosity of slurry at elevated temperatures. This paper is aiming to study Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) polymer at high temperature that is able to increase the viscosity at elevated temperature. In response, experiments were conducted to characterize rheological properties of HPMC at different temperatures (30 to 100 °C). Then it was incorporated as multifunctional additive in cement slurry for determining API properties (fluid loss, free water, thickening time and compressive strength). It was observed that HPMC polymer has remarkable rheological properties that can have higher viscosity with respect to high temperatures. The best concentration of HPMC was found from 0.30 to 0.50 gallon per sack. This concentration showed minimal fluid loss, zero free water, high compressive strength and wide range of thickening time in cement slurry. The results signified that HPMC polymer is becoming multifunctional additive in cement slurry to improve the API properties of cement slurry and unlock high temperature oil wells for cementing operations.

Političke promjene na europskom kontinentu sredinom 19. st. primorale su Habsburšku Monarhiju da koncentrira svoja vojno-financijska sredstva na istočnom Jadranu. Posljedica toga bio je razvoj Pule koja doživljava demografski i svaki drugi rast. Među pridošlicama bili su ljudi različitoga društvenog statusa, a među njima je svoje mjesto našao nadvojvoda Karlo Stjepan Habsburški. Nakon završetka Mornaričke akademije u Rijeci napredovao je u aktivnoj službi sve do čina kontraadmirala. Tada se povlači, a vrijeme u mirovini provodi često krstareći Jadranom i upravljajući svojim imanjem u Poljskoj. Tijekom Prvoga svjetskog rata preuzima funkciju pokrovitelja dobrotvornih udruga za prikupljanje pomoći u ratu, da bi pred kraj rata bio inspektor za istragu pobune mornara u Boki kotorskoj, čiji su savjeti utjecali na odluke cara Karla. Zbog čvrstih veza s Poljskom, bio je kandidat za njezinu krunu koju mu je nudio njemački car, ali ponudu nije prihvatio. Tijekom aktivne službe, a osobito u mirovini, nadvojvoda je pokazivao sklonost krstarenju Jadranom. Iz toga je razloga sagradio vile u Velom Lošinju, gdje mu se nalazila baza za krstarenje Jadranom, i Puli, kamo se preselio zbog potreba službe. Zaljubljenik u more i jahte, bio je sklon dizajniranju vlastitih jahti, a svoju je umjetničku stranu pokazivao ispunjavajući slobodno vrijeme slikanjem i sviranjem klavira. Pridonosio je društveno-kulturnom životu Pule svojom nazočnošću i organizacijom, a gradovima u kojima je boravio ostavio je u spomen svoje reprezentativne građevine.

U radu se analizira jezik hrvatskoga crkvenoslavenskog prijevoda Službe u čast sv. Tomi Becketu. Tekst te službe sačuvan je u 21 hrvatskoglagoljskom brevijaru (BrVb1, Bar, Ber2, Mosk, N1, Vat10, Vat19, Vat5, Pm, Met, Mav, VO, Rom, Pt, Broz, Drag, Oxf, Pad, Vin, N2, Brit) u dijelu Proprium de tempore. Toma Becket engleski je svetac kojega slavi Katolička Crkva, a živio je u 12. stoljeću. Stoga hrvatskoglagoljski pisari nisu mogli upotrijebiti slavenski tekst Službe u čast sv. Tomi Becketu niti ga prevesti s istočnoga izvornika, nego su morali prevesti latinski izvornik. Riječ je o hrvatskoglagoljskome prijevodu tzv. Sarum službe, tj. teksta službe iz Sarumskoga brevijara (BrSar). U radu se objavljuju i latinski tekst izvornika i tekst hrvatskoglagoljske službe iz najstarijega hrvatskoglagoljskog I. vrbničkog brevijara (BrVb1). Razlike osnovnoga teksta iz BrVb1 i tekstova iz ostalih brevijara navode se u kritičkome aparatu. Većina je razlika fonološka i morfološka, a leksičke su razlike rijetke. Hrvatskoglagoljski tekst prijevod je prvih dvaju i pol čitanja latinske službe. Tekstovi iz BrOxf, BrPm i BrVat10 znatno su kraći od ostalih. Tekst u BrVat19 nešto je kraći od ostalih, od kojih su tek neznatno kraći tekstovi u BrBar, BrMav i BrBroz. U pojedinim se tekstovima dodaju ili izbacuju pojedine riječi ili dijelovi teksta. Prijevod je vjeran izvorniku iako neki dijelovi rečenica nisu prevedeni. Pri prevođenju s latinskoga na hrvatski crkvenoslavenski osobit su problem oblici i strukture koje u tim jezicima nemaju isto značenje ili ulogu, oblici bez formalnoga korespondenta te pogotovo konstrukcije, zavisne rečenice i oblici koji u hrvatskome crkvenoslavenskom ne postoje. Ablativ apsolutni uglavnom se prevodi finitnom rečenicom s veznikom i ili bez njega ili instrumentalom apsolutnim. Konstrukcija nominativa s infinitivom s glagolom video, 2. prevedena je u jednome primjeru kao rečenica s prilogom očito, a u drugome povratnim oblikom glagola vidêti i infinitivom. Gerundiv koji zamjenjuje gerund preveden je kao glagolska imenica. Veznik quia u ovome tekstu uvodi uzročne rečenice i preveden je veznikom êko. Latinski konjunktiv imperfekta u hrvatskoglagoljskim je tekstovima često preveden kondicionalom, ali u izričnim se rečenicama prevodi indikativom. Konjunktiv imperfekta perifrastične konjugacije aktivne preveden je infinitivom s imperfektom glagola imati. Konstrukcija akuzativa s infinitom uglavnom se vjerno prevodi, osobito u rečenicama koje izražavaju zapovijed. Konjunktiv prezenta preveden je indikativom. Red riječi prijevoda uglavnom prati red riječi latinskoga izvornika. Tekst je vjerojatno preveden krajem 13. st. jer je sv. Toma Becket živio krajem 12. st., a najstarija je sačuvana služba u njegovu čast iz BrVb1 s kraja 13. ili početka 14. st.

Currently there is a lot of enterprise middleware platforms based on SOAP-oriented webservices. However common message oriented middleware does not fully satisfy the need of integration small to middle sized services keeping the expenses reasonably low. The main goal of this thesis is to provide the analysis, and achitecture of a catalog for REST based webservices and to provide implementation at least for the purpose of practical examples. This catalog should enable it's users the publication of REST webservices, their categorization, searching, sharing and providing metainformation and therefore providing support for the deployment process, propagation, maintanance and further development and therefore lead to higher standarization of these services. The system should be percieved as a proof of concept of support system of a RESTful MOM.

The thesis deals with the complete design, development and implementation of the server solution and graphical user interface for an autonomous system for detecting risk situations at a railway crossing. The server solution consists of a server service and a database. The .NET Core platform was used to develop the server service and its purpose is to perform the collection, processing and storage of information about risky traffic situations recorded by the camera modules. The service uses a Cassandra cluster database for secure data storage, and the database schema was designed with a focus on high performance. The own user interface is implemented with a web application built on Razor Pages technology. This application presents recorded traffic incidents to the user, using its own REST API service as a data source. REST API implements all logical operations on the data in the database.

Tato diplomová práce popisuje testování REST API rozhraní aplikací. Výsledkem práce je aplikace Restty, založená na použití nástroje Swagger, která umožňuje testovat jednotlivé části API aplikací, i vytvářet a spouštět komplexní testovací scénáře nad daným rozhraním. Teoretická část práce vysvětluje principy webových služeb, vzdálených rozhraní a představuje nástroj Swagger i technologie použité k implementaci. V následující kapitole jsou v práci prezentovány designové návrhy aplikace, na které plynule navazuje kapitola o implementaci a testování, pro které je zvoleno rozhraní nástroje Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite. V závěru práce jsou vyhodnoceny přínosy aplikace Restty a navrženy případné budoucí rozšíření.

Almost every company in the world deals with business processes on a daily basis. And business can derive signi cant bene t from taking a formal approach. This means, that the business process is formally described (for example using Business Process Modeling Notation 2.0) and implemented in some Business Process Engine (BPE). The aim of the thesis is to design a general API (BP Orchestration Web Services) that does not depend on BPE for business process monitoring and manipulation. The main problem of current APIs is that they are not uni ed, do not provide enough exibility and are too tied to the one particular BPE. This thesis includes general information about work ow, about BPMN and basic principles of REST architectural style. Based on this knowledge problesms were formally stated and as a solution BP Orchestration Web Services were designed and implemented. Web Services allow to instantiate a process from abstract de nitions, monitor the state of the process and manipulate with the process (including advanced manipulations such as exchanging a sub-process in the running instance for some another compatible sub- process). The RESTful API was designed in a way to minimize the client implementation and restrict client’s knowledge about internal details. As part of the thesis a connector to BonitaBPM was implemented and integration with BonitaBPM was done.

This diploma thesis deals with the operation of taxi-dispatch system and possibilities of its optimization by using geolocation services. The introductory part of diploma thesis contains theoretical basis used for an analysis of the current state and for design of an appropriate solution. The analysis of the current state deals with description of dispatch system functions within the selected company, finding weaknesses of the current system and also includes an analysis of market with systems designed for dispatch operation. Based on the analysis has been proceeded to design a custom solution consisting of a mobile application and a server part, which was then put into practice in the chosen company. Diploma thesis is finished by an evaluation of the proposal, which is based on the comparison of the situation before and after the introduction of the proposed solution.

The second part of the thesis contains description (how they work and what they are good for) of the integration technologies available in SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform. Those technologies are mostly implementations of the most common industry standards (database APIs, COM/DCOM, CORBA, web services). The study also includes description of these standards supported by SAS. The thesis features also comparisions of the integration technologies, namely comparison of database API implementations and comparision of Integrated Object Model API with SAS BI Web Services.

is used to measure the static gel strength of cement slurry and how long it takes to complete transition time. Bolu cement, Nuh cement, and Mix G cement samples were tested according to their free fluid values which are %2.5, %5, %3.12 respectively, and it is found that the Bolu cement with lowest free fluid content has the lowest potential for fluid migration. As a conclusion, fluid migration through behind the cased hole is a major threat for the life of the well. Appropriate cement slurry system may easily defeat this threat and lead cost saving well plans. Main focus of this thesis is creating workaround for ITIL processes in service desk systems. As a objective with highest priority was to choose service desk systems, then create interface which can make possible communication between service boards and selected processes. I described also in generally meaning ITIL library, common service desk functions and important ITIL processes. Management of incidents, problems, changes and configurations is based on a set of processes, which are able to manipulate with interface. Web services are main tool of implemented API for working with these processes. In conclusion are also presented several scenarios to demonstrate communication between clients and service across the board created interface.

Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) is a poor prognosis in hospitalized patients that is associated with high degree of mortality. AKI is also a major risk factor for development of chronic kidney disease. Despite these serious complications associated with AKI there has not been a great amount of progress made over the last half-century. Here we have outlined and provided details on variety of mouse models of AKI. Some of the mouse models of AKI are renal pedicle clamping (ischemia reperfusion injury), Cisplatin induced nephrotoxicity, sepsis (LPS, cecal slurry, and cecal ligation and puncture), folic acid, and rhabdomyolysis. In this chapter we describe in detail the protocols that are used in our laboratories.

Za priložnostne tvorjenke sicer velja, da pogosto (hote) rušijo običajno izrazno podobo jezika in imajo zato ob inherentni ekspresivni tudi izrazito intelektualno funkcijo, kar pomeni, da od bralca zahtevajo večjo miselno aktivnost. Vendar pa so priložnostnice obenem izraz stilne igrivosti jezika, ki učeče se pritegne, motivira in spodbudi, da oblikujejo pozitiven odnos do učenja jezika in slovenščine nasploh.

U hrvatskom medijskom prostoru (televizija, radio, film, kazalište itd.) u posljednjih dvadesetak godina sve su više prisutni dijalekti i različiti jezični varijeteti koji su u bivšoj Jugoslaviji smatrani perifernima, premda su najpopularniej serije bile upravo one na dijalektu – Gruntovčani, Naše malo misto, Velo misto, Prosjaci i sinovi itd. U stručnim i znanstvenim radovima sve se više (pre)-ispituje što je hrvatski standardni jezik i tko su govorni uzori hrvatskog standardnog jezika. Najbliže su standardnom govoru kakav opisuju normativni priručnici spikeri i voditelji javne televizije te voditelji središnjih informativnih emisija komercijalnih televizija. Prema percepciji publike standardni izgovori u filmovima i kazališnim predstavama ocijenjeni su umjetnim i neživotnim. U televizijskim emisijama različitih tema (glazbenim, kulinarskim, putopisnim) voditelji i gosti govore svojim lokalnim idiomima. Filmovi i kazališne predstave govorno također oslikavaju sredinu o kojoj govore. Glazbeni prostor zauzimaju tekstovi na dijalektima i idiomima određenih gradova i krajeva. Strani crtani filmovi redovito su sinkronizirani na hrvatski u dijalektima. Pri tome se njeguju određeni stereotipi – galebovi govore čakavski, dobroćudni, naivni i tradicionalni, ali tvrdoglavi likovi govore štokavskim dijalektom (ikavicom) – najčešće govorom Dalmatinske zagore, kajkavskim inačicama govore priprosti likovi, urbani likovi govore zagrebačkom kajkavštinom itd. Sudionici razgovora na različitim portalima uglavnom se služe svojim lokalnim idiomima. U radu će se staviti u odnos i aktualno promoviranje lokalnih idioma u hrvatskom medijskom prostoru naspram globalizacije u europskom medijskom prostoru (zašto su poljski Lolek i Bolek postali Jim i Jam?).

Abstract The Troll Phase 3 (TP3) wells were designed to enable high gas rates and sand free production for an expected lifetime of 40 years with a minimum pressure drop. By taking reservoir and production properties into account, open-hole gravel pack (GP) sand screens in the lower completion and big bore tubing in the upper completion were selected. To further reduce the pressure loss in the well, reduce rig time and cost, and reduce deployment risks, eliminating the intermediate completion was proposed. Traditionally, an intermediate completion is required to serve as a gas-tight barrier for running of the upper completion, mainly due to historical limitations of the GP extension (GP sleeve) not being a barrier qualified to API 19AC Validation grade V0 (referred to as V0 hereafter) after pumping sand slurry through it (post-erosion). An extensive qualification program was completed to qualify the GP system to API 11D1 and API 19AC V0 for use as a gas-tight barrier post-erosion. This allows the GP system to serve as a primary barrier while installing the upper completion and temporarily abandoning the well. The GP packer was qualified to API 11D1 V0 with the additional requirement to perform entire qualification in as-rolled casing and including a plug-in-tailpipe load case. The GP sleeve provided the most technically challenging requirements: a full-scale erosion test, immediate closure of the sleeve after pumping operation, followed by API 19AC Annex A V0 validation. Challenges were encountered trying to meet the rigorous V0 (zero bubble) acceptance criteria post-erosion. A significantly different approach was developed to achieve gas-tight performance in debris-laden environments. The new design successfully passed the post-erosion API 19AC V0 qualification to the full rating of the GP sleeve. The GP system development and qualification enabled the industry-first V0 post-erosion GP system for Equinor, which eliminates the need for an intermediate completion. This state-of-the-art gravel pack system enabled the simplified high gas rate, big-bore well design, not previously possible given well barrier considerations. The reduced pressure drop across the lower completion is expected to yield a higher gas production rate for the 40 years expected well life, contributing significant value to the TP3 project.

Abstract Both 2- and 3-dimensional computational studies of two-phase flow within a horizontal pipe with a vertical deadleg placed downstream of an oil/water supply source were considered as part of a model subsea petroleum production system. Two-phase continuity and momentum relations were solved using the open-source computational software OpenFOAM. The unsteady flow behavior of the two-phase dispersed mixture which consists of 90%–10% slurry of 32.8 API crude oil-water at the inlet port (Reynolds number of 2.1 × 105) was investigated. With the 2-D simulations, the effects of the average inlet velocity, diameter of the deadleg and length of the deadleg on the oil fraction within the deadleg and the stagnant zones were studied. Results of the 3-D unsteady simulations exhibited the complex vortical flow field and separation of the two phases that evolved within the deadleg leading to migration of separated oil to the top of the deadleg.

Abstract To mitigate strength retrogression at temperatures, higher than 230°F, well cement designs typically include strength retrogression control additives (SRCAs). Solid siliceous materials (e.g., silica flour, fume, and sized-sands) are commonly used SRCAs that are incorporated into cements using dry-blending techniques. This study highlights liquid silica compositions as alternative SRCAs to dry-blended silica for high-temperature cementing. Liquid additives can be managed easily, delivered accurately, and offer a reduced on-site footprint, thus making them particularly advantageous for operations offshore and in remote locations. This paper presents a study on the use of liquid silica compositions as SRCAs and their effect on cement slurry properties, such as thickening time, mixability, fluid loss, rheology, and free water. The cement slurry used during the current study was prepared and tested according to API RP 10B-2 (2005). The performance of the liquid silica composition was tested at temperatures up to 400°F. Set cement samples were prepared using the liquid silica composition and silica flour, cured for up to 14 days at different temperatures. In addition, permeability testing was also performed on the samples. This paper presents the findings of this research, including strength and permeability test results on cement blends cured at temperatures of 300, 330, 350, and 400°F. The liquid silica composition, which provided silica to the cement formulation equivalent to 35% BWOC dry silica (48% BWOC liquid SRCA), functioned effectively as an SRCA at temperatures up to 330°F. Signs of strength retrogression were observed at 350°F and were more pronounced at 400°F. A greater concentration of the liquid silica composition may be necessary to prevent strength retrogression at temperatures higher than 330°F. The liquid silica composition also demonstrated mild retardation and a dispersing effect on the slurry. However, it helped enable improved slurry stability and suspension, thus providing improved control over free water without adverse effects on fluid loss and sedimentation. The study results demonstrate that a liquid SRCA can help improve the performance of annular cement designs to provide dependable barriers and effective zonal isolation during high-temperature cementing applications. The improved performance enabled by this liquid silica composition verifies its potential use as an alternative SRCA for high-temperature oil well cementing operations.

In the case of slurry pumps, mechanical seal is usually used. It is well known that the pump is very dangerous if any solid particle enters the seal. Nowadays, people prefer to install a fluid dynamic sealing including 1 or 2 sets of minor vanes and an auxiliary impeller rather than using high-pressure cleaning water in a slurry pump. However, if a fluid dynamic sealing is not designed properly, the mechanical seal is apt to be destroyed by the invading solid particle, and the slurry pump axes is worn seriously and rapidly. Though there are few empirical methods for designing a fluid dynamic sealing, the definite design concept is much deficiency. In the present work, the geometry selection of the fluid dynamic sealing for a submersible slurry pump is carried out so as to establish the basic principle for a fluid dynamic sealing design. The model pump is of centrifugal type, and has the specific speed of 136 m·m3/min·rpm. In order to validate the design concept, three dimensional turbulent flow in the pump was simulated. The total pump channel including inlet pipe, impeller with attached minor vane set, volute casing, and auxiliary impeller is treated as the calculation domain. The mesh grid is more than 2,000,000 nodes. The numerical simulation has been conducted by using a commercial code Fluent v6.1.2. To see the effect of minor vanes and auxiliary impeller geometrical parameters on the sealing performance, we change vane number, vane height, and radius of the minor vanes and auxiliary impeller, flow-rate of sealing water, etc. Based on the numerical results, a set of favorable geometrical parameters of the fluid dynamic sealing was selected for a submersible slurry pump. It is noted that the pump with the newly designed fluid dynamic sealing had been successfully applied for actual operation in the Yellow River sand transportation system in Shandong province, China.

Abstract Pressure acid leaching (PAL) of lateritic nickel ores requires the use of extremely severe processing conditions (250 °C, > 4000 kPa, 98 % H2SO4). In addition to the severe corrosive nature of the acid solution, up to 30% of abrasive solids are present in the slurry. PyroGenesis Inc. has applied its expertise in materials science and thermal spray technologies into developing and commercially applying coatings for the protection of ball valve components used in PAL autoclaves. Vacuum plasma spray (VPS) and atmospheric plasma spray (APS) processes are used to apply coatings of metals and ceramics for corrosion and wear resistance, respectively. A comparative study on the microstructure and mechanical properties of different coatings, applied with the two processes, will be presented. Although APS coatings provide enhanced abrasive resistance, VPS coatings have shown the potential for superior properties. The extreme temperatures and pressures associated with the actual PAL conditions are too severe to simulate in laboratory conditions, hence, corrosion testing was not possible. Microstructural analysis, microhardness, adhesion, and abrasion testing were determined for each coating/processing combination.

Various authors have pointed out the importance of cement mixing process and its effect on cement properties. From all cement properties, two are extremely important: the mechanical cement strength (unconfined compressive strength or UCS) and the rheology. The first is critically impacting the well integrity whereas the latter is affecting the pumping ability and displacement in the well, which will also have effects on the well integrity. A previously performed literature survey has pointed out that mixing energy alone may not be sufficient to describe the cement slurry changes, and inferred that shear rate can also impact the final cement properties, such as thickening time or cement strength. Starting from the existing investigations, our goal is to quantify the source of maximum energy input during a conventional cement job and estimate its effect on final cement properties. This paper is showing theoretical and experimental investigations on selected API cements with respect to their properties as a function of mixing energy. The first part of the paper is focusing on the estimation of mixing energy in different section of the cement pathway to the annulus. The second part will show some experimental results and the new way ahead, based on our findings.

Poleg tega je industrijski turizem tudi primerno orodje za trajnostni razvoj destinacije, torej za oživitev nekdanjih industrijskih lokacij ali manj razvitih aktivnih industrijskih krajev. Prvič, industrijo lahko predstavi turistom in novim strankam. Drugič, lahko spodbudi razvoj infrastrukture in pomaga ohraniti tradicionalno tehnično znanje o industrijskih procesih. Kot študijo primera smo izbrali Metliko, majhno slovensko mesto, ki ima zelo dolgo tradicijo tekstilne industrije. Z uporabo intervjujev z lokalnimi turističnimi organizacijami ter vodstvom tekstilnih podjetij in s terenskim opazovanjem tekstilnih industrijskih lokacij smo proučili sedanje stanje in pripravljenost za razvoj ponudbe industrijskega turizma, ki bi lahko spodbudila lokalni razvoj. V ugotovitvah predstavljamo možnosti, ki jih imajo Metlika in druga podobna majhna mesta za oživitev tega območja in spodbujanje trajnostnega razvoja s pomočjo ponudbe industrijskega turizma.

Wasatch Energy Systems owns and operates two (2) mass burn incinerators each rated at 210 tons/day in Layton, Utah. Each incinerator was equipped with a three field Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) to control the particulate emissions. Dry sorbent (trona) was injected just upstream of the economizer to control acid gas emissions. The performance of the dry sorbent injection system was marginal. In anticipation of the upcoming EPA emission guidelines, 40 CFR Part 60, Subpart BBBB, Emission Guidelines for existing small municipal waste combustion units, Wasatch Energy Systems decided to update the existing APC systems several years ahead of the schedule. A request for proposal was released in October 1999 and eight proposals were received by the facility. AirPol Inc. of Parsippany, NJ was awarded a turnkey contract in June 2000 to add a dedicated Gas Suspension Absorber (FLS miljo Inc GSA) upstream of each existing ESP. A common lime slurry storage and preparation system, carbon storage and delivery system, ash conveying system, MCC, and control system were also provided under the contract. The new APC system was commissioned and put into service in September, 2001. Initial stack testing was conducted in October 2001 to evaluate system performance. Compliance stack testing was conducted for the Utah Division of Air Quality in November 2001. Results of testing demonstrate that particulate, metals, acid gas and dioxin/furan emissions from the retrofit facility are substantially lower than required under, now final, 40 CFR Part 60, Subpart BBBB – Class 1 Emission Limits for Existing Small Municipal Waste Combustion Units. This paper discusses the retrofit system design and performance.
