Der volle Inhalt der QuelleHelmud Leder’s model defines and orders the affective and cognitive processes involved in the aesthetic experience. On the basis of this model, we studied the aesthetic response of a sample of female design students, who were invited to interact with an art installation. The participants filled in various pre-post questionnaires to record aspects of affective valence, self-consciousness and anxiety. After the experience in the installation, they were given other questionnaires to find out their opinions on the quality of the experience and their interpretation of the significant elements of the installation, and the degree of consistency of each of these elements with the installation as a whole. By comparing the data obtained from all the participants before and after the experience in the installation, we analysed the extent to which there were detectable trends in cognitive and affective changes that may be dependent on the stimulating material. Meanwhile, in order to verify the influence of previously provided information on the conceptual content of the installation in the response of participants, we defined two sub-groups, one of which received additional information on the contents of the installation, while the other did not. The results suggest that the “H1” art installation has the property of generating changes in some of the affective and cognitive variables studied, and that the provision of additional basic information on the concepts represented in the installation affects certain aspects of both the cognitive and affective response of the participants.

conceptions of assessment according to their teaching subject, years of teaching experience, in-service training, and the undergraduate institution they graduated from. There were 414 teachers included in the study. Data were gathered through the short version of Teacher Conceptions of Assessment Scale (TCoA-IIIA), which had 27 items. Exploratory Factor Analysis results revealed that there were four factors in the scale which were called Student Accountability, School Accountability, Improvement, and Irrelevance like in the original scale. Then, the correlation results revealed that Student Accountability, School Accountability and Improvement conceptions were significantly correlated with each other at moderate level. However, Irrelevance conception did not have a significant relationship with other conceptions. The findings of Multivariate Analysis of Variance (MANOVA) indicated that teaching subject and in-service training did not make any significant difference in teachers&rsquo
conceptions of assessment. However, years of teaching experience and undergraduate institution teachers graduated did significant differences in teachers&rsquo
conceptions of assessment.

In this thesis IFRS 7 Financial instruments: Disclosures, that treats information about financial instruments, is investigated. IFRS 7 aims to establish a good international standard for disclosures about financial instruments. The purpose of this thesis is to study differences in the interpretation of IFRS 7 Financial instruments: Disclosures between Swedish life insurance companies, problems – if any – that associate with the recommendation, the recommendation’s effect on accounting and the attitudes towards IFRS amongst the Swedish life insurance companies. The thesis is based on a qualitative method and the conclusion of the thesis is that the life insurance companies find it tricky to decide how the accounting shall be designed in compliance with IFRS 7. Almost all information needed already exists. The problem rather relates to the design of the accounting. Further more, the companies read the recommendation with different eyes and define different users of annual reports, that creates different interpretations. Balance- and income statements will be less affected of IFRS 7, while notes and disclosures will grow. Finally, the attitudes towards IFRS vary alot between life insurance companies.

The results of this study demonstrated the effectiveness of task-based language learning in Second Life environment which had positive impact on students. In this respect, it is suggested that the Second Life experience provided students to gain motivation and self-confidence and overcome their anxiety related problems towards speaking English. Therefore, this study may offer an insight for further studies to investigate the effectiveness of 3D virtual environments in language education, especially in Turkey.

The study was conducted in Ankara with 425 tenth-grade students enrolled to general, Anatolian, foreign language and vocational high schools. Two measuring instruments were utilized: 1.Beliefs about Mathematics Scale (BaMS)
2.Beliefs about the Teaching of Mathematics Scale (BTMS). The validity and reliability of these scales were tested. The design of the present research is a casual-comparative study. The hypotheses of the present study were tested by using multivariate analysis of variance at the significance level 0.05. The results of the study indicated that:1. There are statistically significant differences among the mean scores of students enrolled to different kinds of high schools with respect to beliefs about mathematics and beliefs about the teaching of mathematics
2. There are statistically significant mean differences among students who have different mathematics achievement levels in terms of beliefs about mathematics and beliefs about the teaching of mathematics
3. There are statistically significant mean differences among students who are in different branches in terms of beliefs about mathematics and beliefs about the teaching of mathematics
4.There is no statistically significant mean difference between the male and female students on beliefs about mathematics. On the other hand, there is statistically significant mean difference between the male and female students on beliefs about the teaching of mathematics in the favor of female students.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleIstraživana oblast rada je Pan-Evropski Koridor 7 – internaconalni plovni put Dunava (Regenzburg – Crno more). Tačnije, radom je obuhvaćeno 93,7% Koridora 7, odnosno 2.227 rečnih kilometara Dunava (od Pasaua – Nemačka do delte Dunava – Crno more), jer je to deonica kojom krstare brodovi specijalizovani za međunarodna turistička krstarenja. Tokom protekle decenije međunarodna turistička krstarenja su na globalnom nivou zabeležila najveći rast od svih drugih oblika turističkih putovanja. Ipak, ovaj vid turizma je još uvek u razvoju i nije dovoljno istražen. Rezultati rada pokazuju da su učesnici međunarodnih turističkih krstarenja na ovim prostorima i dalje turisti koji pretežno pripadaju trećoj dobi. Utvrdili smo da su najprisutnije starosne grupe 60-84 godina, sa dominacijom starosnih grupa uzrasta 70-74 i 65-69 godina. Rezultati analize pokazuju da međunarodna turistička krstarenja Koridorom 7 utiču pozitivno na Srbiju, prvenstveno na priobalni, podunavski region. Iako se beneficije ne odnose na korišćenje usluga smeštaja i ishrane u ugostiteljskim objektima, dobrobit se ogleda u sledećim segmentima: turistička promocija (širenje pozitivnog plasmana Srbije kao receptivnog prostora na inostranom tržištu – predstavljanje kulturne baštine i prirodnih vrednosti); porast inostranog turističkog prometa, a samim tim i potrošnje; otvaranje novih radnih mesta (adekvatna infrastruktura i suprastruktura - serviseri različitih usluga brodovima, posadi i putnicima) – pristaništa, špediteri, suvenir tržnice itd. Rezultati istraživanja mogu pomoći daljim proučavanjima uzročno-posledičnih veza između ovakvog vida putovanja i resursa receptivnih zemalja na kojima se ova putovanja zasnivaju, a sve u cilju adekvatnog osmišljavanja i plasmana turističke ponude, odnosno optimalni razvoj receptivnih zemalja kroz održivi turizam.
The researched area is Pan-European Corridor 7 – international Danube waterway (Regensburg – The Black Sea). More precisely, 93.7% of the Corridor 7 is included in the paper, i.e. 2,227 river kilometres of the Danube (from Passau – Germany to the Danube delta – The Black Sea). During the last decade the cruise industry has been the tourism niche that has experienced the most rapid growth of all. However, this form of tourism is still in its infancy and has not been relatively well researched. The article demonstrates the dominance of “silver hair” cruisers on the Corridor 7. Furthermore, we found that the age groups 60-84 were the most represented, with the domination of age groups 70-74 and 65-69. The results of the analysis have shown that the Danube cruises have positive impact on Serbia, primarily the riparian area of the Danube. Although the benefits exclude food and accommodation expenditure, they are noticeable within the following segments: tourism promotion (broadening the scopes of Serbia as a receptive area for the foreign market through its cultural heritage and natural values); increase in foreign tourist turnover, other expenditures; new job opportunities (adequate infrastructure and superstructure – rendering services to ships, crew and passengers) – harbors, carriers, souvenir shops, etc. The results of the research may initiate further studies on the cause and effect connections between this type of traveling and resources of receptive countries, upon which the travels are based, both aiming at adequate design and launching of the tourist offer, i.e. the optimal development of receptive countries through sustainable tourism.

. Novices and experts were distinguished in their content richness measures which used to determine the quality of the maps. Regarding the progress pattern, novices and experts differed in terms of the frequency and duration for specific acts invarious phases of their progress in CM development process. Furthermore, expert participants differed from novices in their fixation count numbers, fixation durations, visit duration periods for specific actions. Fixation count numbers of the novices were higher than the experts during the entire process and in specific dimensions of the CM development process. As a conclusion, these pattern differences affect the CM development process directly and the instructors need to give emphasis to these critical points while using CM during the instruction, and with the help of these pattern differences, instructors could guide the learner effectively and acquire content rich CMs.

In this phase, misconceptions and underlying reasons of those mistakes and difficulties which students may encounter while learning fractions were described. Results revealed that there was evidence that fifth grade students made various mistakes regarding fractional concepts and operations in the fifth grade elementary mathematics curriculum and they had many misconceptions regarding fraction concepts and operations.

The study was carried out in a public school in one of the towns of the Central Anatolia Region with 28 sixth-grade elementary school students. One group pretest-posttest design was used. Mathematics Achievement Test and Mathematics Attitude Scale were administered to collect the necessary data. The instruction will be applied by the researcher five hours per week in a 15-week. The data were analyzed by using one-way repeated measures analysis of variance and a paired-samples t-test. According to the results of the study it was found that there was a statistically significant change in mathematics achievement of sixth grade students who participated in the instruction based on 5E learning cycle over three time periods (pre-intervention, post-intervention, and follow-up). There was only no statistically significant mean difference between post-intervention and follow-up mathematics achievement. Furthermore, there was a statistically significant decrease in mean scores of attitudes toward mathematics from prior intervention to after intervention.

attitude toward chemistry as a school subject and the effect of gender difference on understanding of chemical bonding concepts were investigated. Forty-two ninth grade students from two classes of a chemistry course taught by the same teacher in METU Development Foundation Private School 2000-2001 spring semester were enrolled in the study. The classes were randomly assigned as control and experimental groups. Students in the control group were instructed by traditionally designed chemistry instruction whereas students in the experimental group were taught by the instruction based on constructivist approach. Chemical Bonding Concept Test was administered to both groups as a pre-test and post-test in order to assess their understanding of concepts related to chemical bonding. Students were also given Attitude Scale Toward Chemistry as a School Subject at the beginning and end of the study to determine their attitudes and Science Process Skill Test at the beginning of the study to measure their science process skills. The hypotheses were tested by using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results indicated that instruction based on constructivist approach caused a significantly better acquisition of scientific conceptions related to chemical bonding and produced significantly higher positive attitudes toward chemistry as a school subject than the traditionally designed chemistry instruction. In addition, science process skill was a strong predictor in understanding the concepts related to chemical bonding. On the other hand, no significant effect of gender difference on understanding the concepts about chemical bonding and students&

This study was carried out during the spring semester of2008. Sample of this study constituted 560 pre-service teachers from a public university in Ankara. In this study data was obtained from the administration of Turkish versions of Schommers&rsquo
Epistemological Belief Questionnaire and Environmental Literacy Questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using factor analysis, correlational analysis, multiple regression analysis, and multivariate analysis of variances (MANOVA). We found five epistemological belief factors which indicated that pre-service teachers held multidimensional epistemological beliefs.Epistemological belief components, innate ability and quick learning, were significantly related with behavior component of environmental literacy. Innate ability, quick learning dimensions of epistemological beliefs and environmental attitude, concern were investigated to be the predictors of behavior. mean scores of pre-service teachers&rsquo
.Moreover,results of this study revealed that gender
academic major and grade level have effect on environmental literacy of pre-serviceteachers.

A total of 30 pre-service elementary science teachers who will teach elementary school science from 6th through 8th grade students after graduation voluntarily participated in this study. The sample was chosen by purposive and convenience sampling from the PSTs registered for the course named &ldquo
Science, Technology, and Society&rdquo
in the fall semester of 2009-2010 academic year at a public university in Ankara. In this study, the PSTs participated in an online discussion environment in which climate change, nuclear power, genetically modified foods, and human genome project issues were discussed for a total of four week period. The major data of this study were collected through the Epistemic Beliefs Questionnaire developed by Kuhn, Cheney and Weinstock (2000) and the Argumentativeness Scale by Infante and Rancer (1982). For the analysis of the quality of argumentations, an adapted version of Sadler and Fowler&rsquo
s (2006) argumentation analysis framework was employed. The results of the study illustrated that the PSTs frequently generated high quality argumentations for each socio-scientific issue which was interpreted as a positive indication that the online discussion environment was effective in promoting students&rsquo
argumentation. In addition, the results also showed that argumentation quality levels varied across socio-scientific issues. Another result of this study was that the PSTs&rsquo
argumentation qualities were higher for multiplist and evaluativist levels. Finally, the correlation results between argumentativeness and argumentation quality levels did not reveal a significant correlation between these variables. However, there was a significant correlation between epistemic belief levels and argumentativeness.

Der volle Inhalt der QuelleThis doctoral project was developed to evaluate the validity and reliability of a spiritual growth assessment tool that the author created for his ministry in Southeast Asia called the Bridge or BRIDGES. This tool called the BRIDGES Spiritual Growth Questionnaire (BSG-Q) is helpful for church leaders who intend on implementing The Bridge’s 7-Stage Discipleship Strategy in determining the spiritual stage of their church members. Fifty volunteers at the Bridge were recruited to complete the BSG-Q. To study the validity of the BSG-Q, the three basic and traditional components of validity (criterion-related validity, content validity, and construct validity) were applied. Nine small group leaders at the Bridge were recruited to help assess the criterion-related validity by completing a criterion assessment form. Five experts concerning the Bridge’s 7-Stage strategy were recruited to help assess the content validity by completing a content assessment form. Construct validity was assessed by referencing published authors. To study the reliability of the BSG-Q, the test-retest method and the split-halves method were applied. The accumulated data from all the questionnaires and tests and the analysis of the data confirmed the hypothesis of this project: “The BSG-Q is a valid and reliable tool in determining a person’s level or stage of spiritual growth within the 7- Stage strategy.” This project also enabled the author to make some critical discoveries in how to interpret the scores of BSG-Q participants resulting in important recommendations for church leaders who intend on using this tool.

The game covers photosynthesis, vitamins, carbohydrates, proteins and fat subjects of 5th grade science and technology course. Data was collected from 71 5th grade students of three primary schools. Students have played the game until the end of lesson than they were asked to complete The Instructional Materials Motivation Survey (IMMS). The study reveals that gender, weekly computer use and weekly game playing do not affect the impact of educational computer games on students&rsquo
motivation.
