ObjectivesTo identify the prevalence of human papillomavirus genotypes – as a single infection or co-infection – not included in the 9-valent (9v) HPV vaccine among women with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN 2–3).MethodsRetrospective study of 1700 women referred due to abnormal cytology to Sant Joan de Deu Hospital. We selected 849 patients with CIN 2 or CIN 3 diagnosis confirmed by biopsy. An HPV test, a second cytology, and colposcopy were performed on all patients.Those with abnormal colposcopy underwent cervical biopsy. Patients with abnormal cytology and normal colposcopy or transformation zone type 3 underwent endocervical curetage. Conization was performed if punch biopsy or endocervical curetage confirmed CIN 2–3 or if a CIN 1 lesion persisted (diagnosed by biopsy) over 2 years in patients over 25 years of age. Comparisons for qualitative variables were analyzed with the chi-squared test. Analysis of variance was used for comparisons involving more than two samples.ResultsHPV was detected in 746 of 849 patients (87.9%) and in 306 (41%) of those where more than one HPV genotype was present. The more frequent genotypes detected as single infection were: HPV-16 (267/849%–31.4%), HPV 31 (34/849–4%), HPV-33 (20/849%–2.4%), HPV-58 (17/849%–2%), HPV-51 (15/849%–1.8%), and HPV-53 (12/849%–1.4%). The more frequent genotypes isolated including multiple HPV infection were HPV-16 (427/849%–50.2%), HPV-31 (108/849%–12.7%), HPV-51 (79/849%–9.3%), HPV-33 (67/849%–7.8%), HPV-58 (67/849%–7.8%), and HPV-52 (59/849%–6.9%). In total, 78% of women diagnosed with CIN 2 or CIN 3 had an infection by a HPV genotype included in the 9v vaccine. Of the 849 women diagnosed with CIN 2 or CIN 3, 103 (12.1%) tested negative for HPV and 106 (12.4%) tested positive for low-risk HPV types.ConclusionsInclusion of HPV-51, 53, 66, and 35 in a new vaccine may not be advisable as most are detected as coinfection with other high-risk genotypes that are already included in the current vaccines.

Activation of several protein kinases is mediated, at least in part, by phosphorylation of conserved Thr or Tyr residues located in a variable loop region, near the active site. In certain kinases, this activation loop also controls access of peptide substrates to the active site. In the corresponding region of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor, a potential phosphorylation site, Tyr-845, does not appear to have a major regulatory role. In order to find out whether this variable loop can modulate the peptide phosphorylation and self-phosphorylation activities of the EGF receptor kinase, we investigated the role of residues around Tyr-845, using site-directed mutagenesis. Multiple sequence alignment showed that residues Glu-842, Glu-844 and His-846 are conserved or nearly conserved in eight members of the EGF receptor family. Mutants Glu-842-->Ser, Glu-844-->Gln and His-846-->Ala were expressed in the baculovirus/insect cell system, purified to near-homogeneity and characterized with respect to their peptide phosphorylation and self-phosphorylation activities. All three mutants were active, and these changes did not affect ATP binding directly. However, all mutations increased the Km(app.) for peptide substrates and MnATP in peptide phosphorylation reactions. The Vmax. for the phosphorylation of peptide RREELQDDYEDD was unaltered, but the Vmax. for self-phosphorylation (with variable [MnATP]) decreased 4-, 2- and 7-fold for mutants Glu-842-->Ser, Glu-844-->Gln and His-846-->Ala respectively, compared with the wild-type. These results suggest that binding of this peptide restored an optimal conformation at the active site that might be impaired by the mutations. A study of the dependence of initial rates of self-phosphorylation on cytoplasmic domain concentration showed that the order of reaction increased with the progress of self-phosphorylation. Both pre-phosphorylation and high concentrations of ammonium sulphate restored maximal or near-maximal levels of self-phosphorylation in the mutants, possibly through compensating conformational changes. A plausible homology model, based on the cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase catalytic subunit, accommodated the sequence Glu-841-Glu-Lys-Glu as an insertion in the peptide binding loop at the edge of the active site cleft. The model suggests that Glu-844 and His-846 may participate in H-bonding interactions, thus stabilizing the active site region, while Glu-842 does not appear to interact with regions of the catalytic core.

The laccase producing abilities of four Basidiomycete fungi species were compared using solid-state fermentation using four different lignocellulosic residues. The biosynthetic potential of the Basidiomycetes was highly dependent on the type of fungi. In general, the laccase secreting ability of Cerrena unicolor Han 849 was greater than Lenzites betulinus Han 851, Stropharia rugosoannulata Han 1321, and Auricularia heimuer Han 1333. The maximum laccase production of C. unicolor Han 849 was approximately 11.25, 122.26, and 15.27 times higher than L. betulinus Han 851, S. rugosoannulata Han 1321 and A. heimuer Han 1333, respectively. Different species of fungi had a preference in lignocellulosic residues. The presence of Firmiana platanifolia was conducive to secreting laccase via C. unicolor Han 849 during solid-state fermentation. A continuous and stable laccase production via C. unicolor Han 849 was an obvious advantage of solid-state fermentation with any of the four lignocellulosic residues used. The maximum laccase production of C. unicolor Han 849 using Firmiana platanifolia was approximately 2.12, 1.68, and 6.13 times higher than Populus beijingensis, Sorghum bicolor, and Oryza sativa, respectively. These findings will be helpful for developing new productivity strains in industrial applications and selecting suitable lignocellulosic residues for laccase production.

AbstractAcinetobacter spp. are important healthcare pathogens, being closely linked to antibiotic resistance and outbreaks worldwide. Although such species are rarely observed in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF), we describe the characteristics of 53 strains of Acinetobacter spp. isolated from the sputum of 39 Brazilian patients with CF. The species distribution was A. baumannii (n = 29), A. pittii (n = 13), A. nosocomialis (n = 8), A. seifertii (n = 1), A. soli (n = 1) and A. variabilis (n = 1) determined by partial rpoB gene sequencing. Sixteen strains (10 A. baumannii, 3 A. pittii and 3 A. nosocomialis) were multidrug-resistant (MDR) by disk diffusion test (30%) and eight MDR carbapenem-resistant A. baumannii strains harboured the blaOXA-23-like oxacillinase gene. Thirty-three sequence types (STs) were identified by multilocus sequence typing of which eight were novel (A. baumannii: 843, 844, 845, 847, 848; A. pitti: 643; A. nosocomialis: 862 and A. seifertii: 846); six STs (2 A. baumannii, 3 A. pittii and 1 A. nosocomialis) were found in more than one patient. Four strains of A. baumannii were assigned to two common clonal complexes (CCs), namely, CC1 (ST1, ST20 and ST160), and CC79 (ST79). This study underlines the extensive species diversity of Acinetobacter spp. strains in CF lung infections which may present difficulties for therapy due to significant antimicrobial resistance.

The purpose of this study is to secure literature on intermediate exercises music by comparing and analyzing the difficulty and technique of Czerny op.849 and Heller op.45. For this study, the difficulty of the two exercises was reclassified into 6-8 based on Magrath book, piano practice teaching method, reference literature, and the techniques were analyzed into 10 types within the learning goal of intermediate level exercises. As a result, in Heller op.45, the upper techniques of each difficult exercise are more evenly distributed than in Czerny op.849, and the finger-centered techniques and lower techniques for musical expression appear. Therefore, as a detailed classification of exercises with similar difficulty and high-level techniques, Heller op.45 is selected as alternative exercise music for Czerny op.849, supplementary technique exercise music, and work. It will be an important teaching method that broadens the range of selection of intermediate study literature for domestic piano teachers and students who rely only on Czerny op.849.

The identification of cereal and horticultural varieties are important for registration and agricultural systems. The traditional way to variety identification is the recording of morphological characters using descriptors. But molecular markers may serve as a modern and suitable approach to variety identification such as ISSR. The objective of the study was to identify the 17 ISSR primers, 801~849, for varietal identification of six wheat varieties, Darkhan-34, Darkhan-166 (Arvin), Darkhan-131, Darkhan-144, Khalkhgol-1 and Tsogt. As a result of ISSR marker observation on varieties, Arvin can be identified with 817, Khalkhgol-1 with 817 and 827, Tsogt with 822, Darkhan-34 with 830, Darkhan-131 with 830 and 848 and Darkhan-144 with 827, 830 and 848 primers. Among the surveyed ISSR primers, five can be used as variety-specific primers, 817, 827, 822, 830 and 848.

Directives 2015/849 and 2018/843 on money laundering require continuous adaptations of the legal framework to respond to threats of the use of new technologies in money laundering. Directive 2018/843 extends the scope of Directive 2015/849 to ‘providers engaged in exchange services between virtual currencies and fiat currencies, as well as custodian wallet providers’. Undoubtedly, the new payment systems facilitate money launderers’ criminal activity. These systems are better than cash for moving large sums of money, non-face to face business relationships favour the use of straw buyers and false identities, the absence of credit risk, as there is usually a prepaid option, discourages service providers from obtaining complete and accurate customer information, and the nature of the trade and the speed of transactions make it difficult to control property or freezing. However, the development of technologies, including the Internet, has unquestionable advantages involved and even provides, through online resources, verification of identity or other duty of surveillance for the prevention of money laundering. In addition, the reform of June 22, 2010 introduced in Spain the criminal liability of legal persons and incorporated money laundering, together with other crimes, to this innovative model of criminal responsibility. Soon after, Organic Law 1/2015, of March 30, modified the hitherto barely applied regulation. In conclusion, the use of dummy corporations for money laundering is frequent, as is evidenced by the judgements of the Supreme Court of June 26, 2012 and February 4, 2015, but until recently the accessory consequences and the doctrine of piercing the corporate veil were sufficient.

A nogueira-macadâmia produz frutos do tipo folículo, cuja parte comestível é a semente, com alto valor agregado no mercado internacional e com grande aceitação pelos consumidores. No Brasil, sabe-se que a época de colheita dos frutos da nogueira-macadâmia inicia-se em meados de fevereiro, porém, não se conhece o potencial produtivo dos diversos cultivares disponíveis nas condições brasileiras. O objetivo deste trabalho foi quantificar a produção e a amplitude de colheita de cultivares de nogueira-macadâmia, no município de Itapira, SP. Para o experimento, foram utilizados dez cultivares de nogueira-macadâmia (HAES 722, IAC Campinas-B, 791 Fuji, HAES 842, HAES 849, HAES 814, HAES 344, IAC 9-20X, IAC 9-20 e HAES 816), sendo quantificadas durante três safras, em Itapira, SP, o número de frutos e a massa de colheita (produção e produtividade estimada), calculando-se, posteriormente, a massa média dos frutos. Concluiu-se que a produção da nogueira-macadâmia, em Itapira, SP, inicia-se em meados de fevereiro e estende-se até o final de junho. IAC 9-20 foi o cultivar mais precoce e, HAES 722, o mais tardio, enquanto o HAES 344 proporcionou a menor amplitude de colheita e 791 Fuji e HAES 849 as maiores. Os cultivares IAC 9-20X, IAC 9-20 e HAES 816 apresentaram o maior desempenho produtivo.

Gottschalk of Orbais (ca. 804–868) was condemned for heresy by the Synods of Mainz and Quirzey (in 848 and 849) due to his doctrine of double predestination, and spent the last twenty years of his life in confinement in Hautvillers. Throughout Gottschalk’s last years, and perhaps due to the severe punishment he had suffered, another facette of this monachus gyrovagus surfaced. The image of a rebellious figure, somewhat subversive in his heretical self-defence, resorting to subterfuge, and endowed with protruding features, announcing the penchant to martyrium, prophecy and some uncommon strategies of religious self-representation for the Carolingian era, came to light.

To the Editor.— I read with interest the article by Koren et al, "Tenfold Errors in Administration of Drug Doses: A Neglected Iatrogenic Disease in Pediatrics" (Pediatrics 1986;77:848-849). Errors such as those described by the author are perhaps most likely to occur during an emergency resuscitation situation. Several factors contribute to this increased likelihood. (1) emotional stress of the situation, (2) the urgency of need for the medications, leading to excessive haste in their preparation for administration and at the same time a decrease in the likelihood that the dose will be double checked before administration, and (3) the relative lack of familiarity of the members of the resuscitating team with the medications being used.

Abstract Directive (EU) 2015/849, known as the “4th AML Directive”, introduced an obligation on all EU Member States to create and maintain registers of the beneficial owners of their companies and trusts. Prior to such measures coming into force in most member states, Directive (EU) 2018/843, known as the “5th AML Directive”, further introduced some significant changes to the functioning of such registers and, in particular, to the access to their information. This article considers the impact of the rules introduced under the 5th AML Directive on private foundations. After a brief analysis of the relevant provisions in the Directive, it focuses on three member states in particular: Austria, Malta, and Belgium.

Telehealth has the potential to change the way we approach patient care. From virtual consenting to reducing carbon emissions, costs, and waiting times, it is a powerful tool in our clinical armamentarium. There is mounting evidence that remote diagnostic evaluation and decision-making have reached an acceptable level of accuracy and can safely be adopted in orthopaedic surgery. Furthermore, patients’ and surgeons’ satisfaction with virtual appointments are comparable to in-person consultations. Challenges to the widespread use of telehealth should, however, be acknowledged and include the cost of installation, training, maintenance, and accessibility. It is also vital that clinicians are conscious of the medicolegal and ethical considerations surrounding the medium and adhere strictly to the relevant data protection legislation and storage framework. Para analizar la relación entre sobrepeso/obesidad, género, ansiedad y estrés se realizó un estudio transversal correlacional en donde participaron 849 adolescentes del norte de México. Los análisis de revelaron que las mujeres con sobrepeso y obesidad presentan mayores niveles de estrés y de ansiedad, así como mayor probabilidad de manifestar ambas condiciones. Se concluye que el género y la obesidad son condiciones de riesgo para la manifestación de estrés y ansiedad. To analyze the relationship between overweight / obesity, gender, anxiety and stress a correlational cross-sectional study was developed, participating 849 teenagers from northern Mexico. The analysis revealed that overweight and obese women have higher levels of stress and anxiety, and that they are more likely to manifest both conditions. It is concluded that gender and obesity are risk conditions for the manifestation of stress and anxiety.

Abstract Introduction Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) is one of the most common types of degenerative dementia after Alzheimer’s dementia. The core clinical features for diagnosis includes cognitive fluctuations, visual hallucinations, rapid eye movement (REM) sleep behavior disorder (RBD), and parkinsonism. Other symptoms include daytime drowsiness, longer daytime naps, prolonged staring spells, and episodes of disorganized speech. REM behavioral disorder (RBD) is commonly associated with DLB, occurring in 85 percent of individuals, often early in the course of the disease. It can precede the clinical diagnosis of DLB by up to 20 years. Report of case(s) A seventy-six-year-old female with a history of well controlled obstructive sleep apnea was diagnosed with REM behavioral disorder in 2012. She had presented with episodes of screaming, attempt to ambulate during sleep, resulting in injury. Her polysomnogram revealed evidence of REM without atonia and a screaming episode during REM. Her RBD symptoms were controlled with clonazepam and melatonin with less frequency of the RBD episodes. The patient gradually started noticing memory issues and by January 2020 she was diagnosed with dementia and was initiated on Aricept. Within 7 months of diagnosis of dementia, she started reporting vivid hallucinations that were not threatening or violent compared to her violent content of RBD. Physical exam revealed impaired cognitive function and mild intermittent resting tremor of the right hand. The neurological exam was normal including normal tone, strength, and gait. She also reported repeated falls and fractures. The diagnosis of Lewy body dementia was made based on the presence of 2 core clinical features. Conclusion The current management of these conditions is mainly symptomatic. In the evolution of neurodegenerative disorder, RBD precedes other conditions like LBD, parkinsonism, etc. Research suggests that alpha-synuclein neurodegeneration is the common pathology behind these conditions. The understanding that RBD presents at the beginning of the evolution, provides us with a unique opportunity for preemptive treatment to prevent further degeneration in turn preventing the debilitation consequence like dementia, parkinsonism, neuroleptic sensitivity, and dysautonomia. Foram quantificados a umidade, extrato etéreo, proteína, cinza e fibra bruta, além disso, extração de óleo e o perfil de ácidos graxos. A maior quantidade de proteína foi registrada na cultivar 'IAC 9-20X'. Quanto ao teor de fibra bruta, as maiores porcentagens foram observadas nas cultivares 'HAES 741' e 'HAES 842'. As amêndoas de todas as cultivares de nogueira-macadâmia analisadas possuem ácidos palmítico e oleico.

The results of the study of 30 flax samples of different ecological and geographical origin from the collection of the N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR) are presented. The varieties of the Russian selection 14, Chinese 6, Ukrainian 5, French 4, Belarusian 1 have been investigated. The influence of genotypes and weather conditions on the manifestation of economic traits by multivariate analysis of variance has been established. Field studies were conducted in the sub taiga zone of the Tomsk region in 2015-2017. Natural and climatic conditions met the requirements for the cultivation of fiber flax. By total and technical stem length the best varieties of the Chinese selection Heiya 4 (K-8485), Sxy 7 (K-8689), the Russian hybrid Tomsk 16 * Success (K-8544), the French variety Drakkar (K-8493), the Ukrainian Glazur (K-8695), 66-72 and 60-66 cm respectively, were significantly higher than the standard Tomsk 16. According to the fiber content in the technical part of the stems (38-40%) the following varieties were the leaders: the Russian selection P-3989 (K-8672), A-236 (K-8692), M-249 (K-8693), the French selection Alizee (K-8494), Agatha (K-8492), Melina (K-8495), and the Ukrainian selection Vruchy (K-8694), were significantly above the Tomsk 16 standard. By the fiber mass (91-104 mg) the French varieties Drakkar (K-8493) and Alizee (K-8494), the Ukrainian varieties Vruchii (K-8694) and Glazur (K8695), the Russian varieties A-236 (K-8692) and M-249 (K-8693) reliably exceeded the Tomsk 16 standard by 6-44 mg. The flax varieties of the Russian selection P-3989 (K-8672), Dobrynya (K8504), A-236 (K-8692), the Chinese Heiya 4 (K-8485), Heiya 13 (K-8486), Tyy 13 (K-8687), the French Agatha (K-8492), Drakkar (K-8493), Alizee (K-8494), Melina (K-8495), and the Ukrainian Gladiator (K-8505) and Vruchiy (K-8694) were recognized as promising and were included in the breeding process as male seed parents. The resulting hybrid material has been on trial in the selection nursery from 2017 and the second year of breeding from 2021.

Abstract N-ethyl-N-nitrosourea (ENU) mutagenesis in mice can be used to study gene function in vivo and to establish genetic mouse models of human disease. In this study, a white spotted mouse (named KitW-1 Bao) was obtained by ENU-induced mutagenesis. Inheritance testing showed a single-gene dominant mutation and lethality in the KitW-1 Bao homozygous mice. The mutation was mapped to Chromosome 5 between markers D5 Mit356 and D5 Mit308. The region contains the Kit gene, whose mutations are known to lead to pigmentation defects in mice. Sequence analysis of the Kit cDNA from KitW-1 Bao heterozygotes revealed an A to T missense mutation resulting in an amino acid substitution of Asp (D) by Val (V) at amino acid position 849 within a highly conserved tyrosine kinase domain. The combined phenotype displayed by the KitW-1 Bao heterozygous and homozygous mutant mice demonstrates the critical function of the highly conserved aspartic acid residue at position 849 in the Kit gene product.

We investigate the origin of various convective patterns for Prandtl number P = 6.8 (for water at room temperature) using bifurcation diagrams that are constructed using direct numerical simulations (DNS) of Rayleigh–Bénard convection (RBC). Several complex flow patterns resulting from normal bifurcations as well as various instances of "crises" have been observed in the DNS. "Crises" play vital roles in determining various convective flow patterns. After a transition of conduction state to convective roll states, we observe time-periodic and quasiperiodic rolls through Hopf and Neimark–Sacker bifurcations at r ≃ 80 and r ≃ 500 respectively (where r is the normalized Rayleigh number). The system becomes chaotic at r ≃ 750, and the size of the chaotic attractor increases at r ≃ 840 through an "attractor-merging crisis" which results in traveling chaotic rolls. For 846 ≤ r ≤ 849, stable fixed points and a chaotic attractor coexist as a result of an inverse subcritical Hopf bifurcation. Subsequently the chaotic attractor disappears through a "boundary crisis" and only stable fixed points remain. These fixed points later become periodic and chaotic through another set of bifurcations which ultimately leads to turbulence. As a function of Rayleigh number, |W101| ~ (r - 1)0.62 and |θ101| ~ (r - 1)-0.34 (velocity and temperature Fourier coefficient for (1, 0, 1) mode). However the Nusselt number scales as (r - 1)0.33.

The paper presents the results of the synthesis of bismuth superconducting ceramics with compositions Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Can-1CunOy (n=2, 3, 5) based on amorphous ceramics obtained by ultrafast melt quenching. In order to increase the rate of formation of superconducting compounds, effective devices have been developed for melting and hardening melts under the action of IR radiation. The sample holder was made of platinum. Melting and hardening were carried out in a continuous mode in an oxidizing environment in a flowing air atmosphere. The study of the elemental composition of the precursor samples established a slight deviation towards a decrease in the cationic composition of the precursors (Bi, Pb and Ca), relative to the stoichiometric composition. An increase in oxygen content by 12–15 % was also found. Synthesis of superconducting compounds was carried out in the temperature range of 843–850 °C, depending on the composition. The study found that in the sample Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca4Cu5Oy (2245) the superconducting high-temperature phase 2223 crystallizes. It was found that the formation of the superconducting phase 2223 in the Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca4Cu5Oy composition occurs in a lower and wider temperature range (843–848 °C) compared to the Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy (2223) composition. The complete formation of the superconducting high-temperature phase 2223 in a sample with the nominal composition Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr2Ca2Cu3Oy (2223) was carried out in a narrow temperature range of 849–850 °C, in a strict temperature regime with the participation of the liquid phase. An increase in the rate of formation of the superconducting compound 2223 in both studied compositions by 1.5–2.5 times was established, compared with the solid-phase method and other melt methods

On the other hand, cowpea varieties KANO1696 and SAMPEA7 showed a tendency towards having increased concentration of about 50% of the element analyzed in each year on bothAlectraandStrigainoculated plots. In both KANO1696 and SAMPEA 7 there was a tendency towards the increase in the grain concentration of Mg and Zn and the decrease in K and Mn onAlectrainoculated plots and the increase in P and Mg but the decrease in Ca and Zn onStrigainoculated plots. The concentration of P in all the varieties in 1999 and 2000 (except IT89KD245 in 2000) was increased onStrigainoculated plots. Macadamia (Macadamia integrifolia, M. integrifolia × M. tetraphylla) trees were pruned at different times at sites near Alstonville, northern New South Wales, Australia, to examine the effects on vegetative flushing, subsequent flower raceme production and yield. Pruning of cv. 849 and cv. A268 modified the cycle of flush development. Pruning times that resulted in immature flushes on the canopy in late autumn or early winter inhibited raceme production. In contrast, pruning in late May and early June did not generally reduce raceme production relative to production on unpruned trees. The times of pruning that reduced raceme production also reduced yield. The yields of trees pruned in late May were also reduced, presumably because of decreased light interception. In the season after treatment the trees pruned in early April had greater numbers of racemes per unit of tree canopy volume than the trees pruned in late May. The trees of the lighter flowering cv. 849 pruned in early April had higher yield efficiencies than the trees pruned in late May, whereas there was no effect on yield efficiency in the prolifically flowering cv. A268. The differences in raceme production in the season after pruning may have been due to a combination of an alternate bearing response, characteristics of the stems produced after pruning, or maturity of the flushes. In a separate experiment, uniconazole sprays immediately after pruning reduced the length of the new stems, slowed canopy expansion, and increased kernel recovery compared with untreated hedged trees, but did not affect flowering or yield. In another experiment, hedging in early June had no effect on raceme production in cv. 849 trees in consecutive seasons, and no effect on canopy volume or yield in the first season. In contrast, canopy volume and yield were reduced in the second season. Finally, pruning of young, yet-to-flower cv. 849 trees from late winter to spring staggered flush development, with the earliest pruned trees producing more racemes and setting more fruit than the later pruned trees.

The linear immunogenic and antigenic structure of E. coli Gal-Gal pili from the recombinant strain HU 849 was investigated with nine synthetic peptides corresponding to regions of the pilus sequence predicted to contain hydrophilic beta-turns. Five peptides, as bovine serum albumin conjugates, were found by anti-HU 849 pilus serum and were thus designated "immunogenic epitopes." Peptides corresponding to R 25-38, R 38-50, and R 48-61 (which jointly comprise the single intramolecular disulfide loop), and R 103-116, were bound in low titer. A prominent immunogenic epitope was specified by a peptide corresponding to R 65-75. Four peptides, as thyroglobulin conjugates, elicited antisera in rabbits that bound intact HU 849 pili. These were designated "antigenic epitopes." Two prominent antigenic epitopes were localized to peptides corresponding to R 5-12 and R 93-104, whereas peptides corresponding to R 65-75 and R 119-131 represented two minor antigenic epitopes. None of the peptide antisera bound Gal-Gal pili from heterologous strains except anti-R 93-104 and anti-R 5-12. In 8 of the 10 Gal-Gal-binding pyelonephritis isolates tested, anti-R 5-12 detected a protein with an apparent molecular weight of 18,000 co-migrating with several Gal-Gal pili. Anti-R 93-104 detected a corresponding protein in 4 of 8 fecal and 7 of 12 pyelonephritis Gal-Gal-binding isolates; however, it also bound apparently unrelated proteins of higher molecular weight.

The stages of development of highly oleic varieties of sunflower bred at V.S. Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops are presented. The development of highly oleic sunflower varieties such as Pervenets, Kruiz and the new promising sample S. 849 is distinguished. Due to the results of a competitive trial, the sample S. 849 exceeded the variety Kruiz in yield by 14%, and oleic acid content in oil in average is equal 88–90% in a population. The demand for the highly oleic sunflower varieties is growing up. Therefore, we developed initial germplasm of confectionary type with high content of oleic acid in oil of seeds. The conducted breeding work allowed increasing meanings of traits of high oleic acid content and 1000 seeds weight (one of the most important for the confectionary sunflower) in all stages of breeding process.

Background. Obesity is a growing public health problem associated with increased morbidity and rate of death. Postmortem examination is imperative to determine the cause of death, to detect clinically unsuspected disease entities, and consequently to determine the actual impact of obesity on patient mortality.Methods. A total of 849 adult autopsies were retrospectively reviewed. Obese (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2) and nonobese patients were separately studied. The primary cause of death in each group was categorized into malignancy, infection, stroke, ischemic and nonischemic heart disease, pulmonary embolism, hemorrhage, and primary nonneoplastic diseases of different organ systems.Results. Of 849 autopsies, 32.3% were obese. The leading causes of death in the obese population were malignancy (31.4%), infection (25.9%), ischemic heart disease (12.8%), and pulmonary embolism (6.2%). Obese individuals were statistically more likely to die from pulmonary embolism and liver disease and less likely to die from neurologic diseases and nonischemic heart disease.Conclusion. Autopsies on obese individuals constitute a third of all adult medical autopsies in our center. Increased death rates in the obese due to pulmonary embolism and liver disease should receive special clinical attention. Autopsy findings in the obese population should contribute to overall premortem disease detection, prevention, and management.

We utilised social media listening (SML) to obtain patients' perspectives on symptoms, diagnosis and comorbidities associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and its impact on patients' quality of life (QoL).A comprehensive search on social media platforms was performed for English language content posted between July 2016 and January 2018 using COPD-related terms. Social Studio, a social media data aggregator tool, was used to capture relevant records. The content was manually curated to analyse and map psychological aspects with descriptive statistics applied on aggregated findings.A total of 849 posts from patients or caregivers (“patient insights”) were considered for the analysis, corresponding to postings of 695 unique individuals. Based on 734 mentions of symptoms from 849 posts by potential patients/caregivers, cough (27%), mucus (25%) and shortness of breath (21%) were the most frequent; analysis by perceived COPD severity indicated these to be common across all severities. Difficulty in mucus clearance (24% of 268 mentions) and sadness (40% of 129 mentions) were top among the aspects impacting physical and emotional QoL, respectively.SML from patients with COPD indicated that relief from cough, mucus production and shortness of breath would be the most desirable aspects of disease management from a patient's perspective.

The first article in the series describing changes in the perception of terrorist threats across the European Union focuses on illustrating the new approach of the European Union, consisting primarily in rejecting the division into physical and cyber threats and recognizing the role of private entities in preventive actions and noticing the problem of radicalization to a greater extent. In addition, strategic documents adopted at the EU level were presented in a broader context. Finally, the most important solutions resulting from the adoption of Directive 2017/541 on combating terrorism were analyzed. In the second part, the reader’s attention will focus on the issue of combating, preventing and eliminating the possibility of financing terrorism. In addition to indicating the main solutions at the EU’s level (Directive 2015/849 and 2018/843), the results of their implementation into the national legal order were also indicated.

Background: Cataract is generally caused due to physical aging, but in some cases, there are chances that it may develop in early ages (Pre-senile cataract). Pre-senile cataract is believed not to be primary in nature and some underlying ocular/systemic/environmental factor is causing the lens opacification at an early age. This study aim was to determine frequency and risk factors of pre-senile cataract in our populationMethods: this observational study at Outdoor Patient - Eye in Benazir Bhutto Hospital, Rawalpindi (BBH), for the period from December 2017 to June 2018. Cataract was diagnosed on slit lamp examination. Detail history, Ocular and systemic examination was done for all pre-senile cataract cases. Laboratory/radiological investigations were performed when and where required. Using the Excel spreadsheet, Statistical analysis of descriptive data was carried out.Results: A total of 11448 patients were examined, whereby cataract was found in 849 (7.41%) patients. Out of these 849, 165 (19.43%) cases were pre-senile cataract. Pre-senile cataract was most seen in age group 30-49 86 (52.13%) and among women 93 (56.36%). The identified causes were idiopathic 55 (33.3%), diabetes 45(27.3%) and Steroids and other drugs related 33 (20.0%). posterior sub-capsular cataract is 60(36.36%) was most identified type in the study among pre-senile cataract.

Malaria, a hazardous infirmity caused by a parasitic malady of the red blood cells, is without question harming to the wellbeing. In the present investigation, the chemosuppresive and haematopoietic activities of 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg body weight of unrefined ethanolic concentrates of three Chinese green teas (BIA 849, TD 570 and GB/T19598) were assessed using the 4-day suppressive anti-plasmodial assay in mice Plasmodium berghei (NK65 strain) pre-infected mice. The effect of the extracts on weight of the animals was evaluated. It was observed that 200 mg/kg bw (body weight) of BIA 849 and GB/T19598 were as potent as 5 mg/kg bw of chloroquine, with percentage suppressions of 58.97 ± 5.04, 57.63 ± 5.62 and 57.50 ± 4.5, respectively. TD570 at 200 mg/kg bw was more effective in suppressing plasmodium. 400 mg/kg body weight of TD570 and GB/T19598 extracts were more potent than 5 mg/kg bw of chloroquine having 100 % chemosuppression. The chemosuppression of BIA 849 did not change altogether at 400 mg/kg bw. The haematological parameters, WBC, RBC and MCV did not significantly change in the groups treated with the tea extracts utilizing suppressive model of malaria treatment contrasted with the uninfected group and were comparable to those treated with chloroquine. Haemoglobin concentration nonetheless, varied significantly with respect to the uninfected group. Weight changes were most significant with 200 mg/kg bw of TD 570 treated group (32 % increase) on suppression. All in all, the green teas displayed high chemosuppressive and haematopoietic possibilities and are thusly prescribed as contender for additionally screening as elective antimalarial drugs

A partir da aplicação da análise de regressão linear múltipla, pelo método stepwise, em um conjunto de dados tabulados pelo IBGE referentes a 849 municípios do estado de Minas Gerais, e, ainda, dos respectivos valores totais da produção agrícola de cada uma das 33 culturas permanentes e 31 culturas temporárias produzidas em cada um daqueles municípios, o presente estudo teve por objetivo, inicialmente, avaliar a influência do valor adicionado bruto da agropecuária sobre o Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) dos municípios mineiros, e, especificamente em relação à agricultura, identificar como os valores totais da produção agrícola dos municípios do estado de Minas Gerais poderiam constituir-se em direcionadores do valor adicionado bruto da agropecuária daqueles municípios. Entre outros resultados, observou-se indícios de que o valor adicionado bruto da agropecuária contribui para a formação do PIB dos municípios mineiros, contudo, pelo menos estatisticamente, a influência dos segmentos do setor de serviços e da indústria parece ser bem mais expressiva. Também se percebeu que o valor da produção das culturas do milho em grão, cana de açúcar, café em grão e manga, em conjunto, explicam 93,7% das observações referentes aos 849 municípios mineiros integrantes da amostra dessa pesquisa, sendo que, os valores da produção das outras 13 culturas agrícolas identificadas como possíveis determinantes do valor adicionado bruto da agropecuária municipal mineira foram capazes de explicar, em conjunto, apenas 9,4% daquelas observações.

BackgroundAlthough promising developments in cancer vaccination have been made, therapeutic effectiveness is often insufficient. Liposomal vaccine effectiveness could be enhanced by antigen encapsulation and incorporation of molecules that actively target to antigen presenting cells to enhance T cell activation. CD169-expressing splenic macrophages are located in the marginal zone and efficiently capture particulate antigens such as viruses and exosomes from the blood circulation. Upon antigen capture CD169+ macrophages transfer antigen to cross-presenting dendritic cells that are responsible for the activation of CD8+ T cells.MethodsHere we prepared liposomes that contain a physiological ligand for CD169, the ganglioside GM3, to facilitate uptake by CD169+ macrophages. We assessed how various amounts of targeting molecule GM3, decoration with PEG and liposomal size affected binding and uptake by CD169+ macrophages in vitro and in vivo. In addition, we evaluated the stability of liposomal preparations in plasma. As a proof of concept, we prepared GM3-liposomes with a long ovalbumin peptide and tested the capacity of these liposomes to induce CD8+ and CD4+ T cell activation and compared it to control liposomes and soluble peptide.ResultsThese data indicate that targeting of splenic CD169 macrophages can be optimized by careful selection of constituents of the liposomal delivery vehicle. Moreover, optimized GM3-mediated liposomal targeting to CD169 macrophages results in potent immune responses.ConclusionsGM3-mediated liposomal targeting to CD169 macrophages presents as a promising strategy for cancer vaccinesEthics ApprovalAll animal experiments were approved by the local animal welfare body.

Abstract The usefulness of production functions, mathematical descriptions of production processes, has long been recognized by economists in manufacturing industries, and more recently by agricultural scientists in the field of biological production. As increasing emphasis in forestry is placed on short-rotation, intensive crop management it would seem that foresters would also require production functions for rational timber management planning. These functions could be useful in a number of areas such as: crop tree growth prediction, control of stand development, economic analysis for decision-making purposes, and for determining the so-called elasticities of inputs and outputs. A very general functional form that may be appropriate for the development of forestry models is the transcendental logarithmic, or translog, function. Unfortunately, at this time, sufficiently detailed data do not seem to be available for any tree species to estimate a production function that could make sophisticated intensive forest management possible. Thermal treatment offers an alternative method for the separation of aluminum foil and cathode materials during spent lithium-ion batteries recycling. In this work, the combustion kinetic of cathode was studied based on six model-free (isoconversional) methods, namely Flynn–Wall–Ozawa (FWO), Friedman, Kissinger–Akahira–Sunose, Starink, Tang, and Boswell methods. The possible decomposition mechanism was also probed using a master-plots method (Criado method). Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the whole thermal process could be divided into three stages with temperatures of 37–578°C, 578–849°C, and 849–1000°C. The activation energy ( Eα) derived from these model-free methods displayed the same trend, gradually increasing with a conversion range of 0.002–0.013, and significantly elevating beyond this range. The coefficients from the FWO method were larger, and the resulted Eα fell into the range of 10.992–40.298 kJ/mol with an average value of 20.228 kJ/mol. Comparing the theoretical master plots with an experimental curve, the thermal decomposition of cathode could be better described by the geometric contraction models.
