Abstract: The aim of this article was a study about scientometry on medicinal plants in Brasil. We found 187 indexed articles in SCOPUS between 1947 and 2012. In 2010, 22 articles were found and the Brazilian Journal of Medicinal Plants had the highest number of publications (40%). The major part of the articles was classified as research articles (79%). Boldo and aroeira were the most researched species. Keywords: Scientometrics. Medicinal plants. Scientific production. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Análise da Produção Científica sobre Plantas Medicinais Resumo: O objetivo do trabalho foi realizar um estudo cienciométrico acerca da produção científica sobre plantas medicinais no Brasil. Foram consultados 187 artigos indexados no SCOPUS entre 1947 e 2012. Em 2010 foram encontrados 22 artigos, a Revista Brasileira de Plantas Medicinais teve o maior número de publicações (40%). A grande parte dos artigos foi tipo pesquisa (79%). Rad se bavi problemom obnove vinogradarstva u Istri u razdoblju 1945. – 1947. godine. Tijekom međuratne talijanske vlasti ono je bilo prilično zapostavljeno, gotovo u potpunosti uništeno visokim porezima i drugim davanjima. Rezultat toga bilo je odustajanje od vinogradarstva i okretanje uzgoju žitarica, prvenstveno pšenice. Oko 50 % površina vinograda u tom je razdoblju prenamijenjeno za uzgoj drugih poljoprivrednih kultura ili je propalo zbog zapuštanja. Prema tome, prve mjere ONOI-a bile su usmjerene na obnovu samih vinograda. Trebalo je pronaći najotpornije sorte, osnovati rasadnike i organizirati tečajeve za uzgajivače. Veliki su napori uloženi u borbu protiv bolesti vina i trsova, a otežavao ih je kronični nedostatak modre galice i sumpora. Istovremeno, vlasti su morale odrediti cijene otkupa i prodaje, pritom pazeći da zaštite interese proizvođača, trgovca i potrošača. Kako bi se zaštitilo pravo vino i vinski proizvodi, bilo je važno razlučiti pravo vino i vinske proizvode od umjetnih te napraviti razliku između vina i drugih alkoholnih pića nastalih od raznoga voća. Za potrebe pisanja rada korišteni su fondovi Državnog arhiva u Pazinu: »HR-DAPA-79, ONOI, 1945-1947« i »HR-DAPA-91, KNO Vodnjan, 1945.1947« te fond Vojnog arhiva Srbije: »Vojna uprava JNA, VU 1, 1945-1953«.

Context Social determinants of health (SDH) are reportedly more important in determining a patient's health status than the actual health care services provided. Given their role and unique clinical practice environment, athletic trainers will encounter patients who are influenced by SDH. It is important to educate future generations of athletic trainers on the importance of SDH to promote positive patient outcomes. Objective To detail a strategy for implementing concepts of SDH into athletic training education programs. Background A purposeful educational strategy that incorporates didactic concepts and clinical practice application of SDH for athletic training students is important to produce a deeper understanding of the role these factors play in populational health. Description Delivery methods such as presentation modules and learning activities are presented. Clinical Advantage(s) Integrating SDH through a tailored activity exposes students to the concepts of SDH and promotes observation and use in clinical practice. Awareness and recognition of how SDH support delivery of patient-centered care may promote patient and population health outcomes. Conclusion(s) The inclusion of SDH into athletic training education using lecture, observational learning, and reflective techniques can expose students to SDH in clinical practice and promote whole-person health care.

Stanje ribarstva u neposrednim poslijeratnim godinama u Istri za vrijeme Vojne uprave Jugoslavenske armije od 1945. do 1947. godine nije se često javljalo kao istraživačka tema. Problem svakako leži i u maloj količini arhivskoga gradiva koje se dotiče ove teme. S obzirom, dakle, na ograničen prostorni i vremenski okvir teme ovoga rada u uvodnim se poglavljima pruža kratak osvrt na stanje ribarstva i industrije prerade ribe u Istri u razdoblju od pokretanja prerađivačke ribarske industrije (kraj 19. st.) pa do kraja Drugoga svjetskog rata, a potom detaljnije na ponovno pokretanje rada te industrije neposredno po svršetku rata. U radu se ukazuje na neke od brojnih izazova s kojima se poslijeratna vlast suočila u obnovi i organizaciji samoga ribolova te u industriji prerade ribe. Za pokretanje ribarstva nužan je preduvjet bila uspostava suradnje sa svim uključenim sudionicima toga procesa. Taj zadatak nije se moglo postići isključivo strogim i tvrdim nametanjem nove doktrine, već postupnim upoznavanjem stanovništva s promjenama koje su nastupale i koje će utjecati na sve društvene procese. »Popularizacija« budućega privrednog napretka zemlje obuhvatila je i ribarstvo te se i u toj industrijskoj grani od svih uključenih, počevši od samih ribara pa do zaposlenih u prerađivačkim pogonima, očekivao doprinos u izgradnji bolje ekonomske budućnosti. Vlasti su svojim prvim potezima prvenstveno išle prema uspostavi reda i nadzora nad novim područjem te prema obuhvatnom uvidu u stanje gospodarskih resursa Istre. Komunističke su vlasti poduzimale napore da tehnološki unaprijede i olakšaju uvjete rada i ribolova i prerade. Uz pružanje pomoći ribarima jednako su tako kontinuirano ulagani napori u stvaranje boljih uvjeta i nesmetana rada u tvornicama za preradu. Poseban je izazov predstavljao nedostatak cjelogodišnjih zaliha potrebnih za kontinuiranu proizvodnju, potom pomanjkanje radne snage, pogotovo stručnoga kadra, te problem plasmana gotovih proizvoda. Ovo su bile stalne prepreke za koje su poslijeratne vlasti morale tražiti i stalno iznalaziti odgovarajuća rješenja. Gradivo fonda HR-DAPA-79 Oblasni narodni odbor za Istru (1945-1947) sadrži dokumente koji svjedoče o procesu obnove gospodarske djelatnosti u Istri, a samim time omogućuju detaljniju rekonstrukciju toga procesa.

Quelques mois à peine après la découverte des premiers rouleaux hébraïques des grottes de Qoumran en 1947, une théorie d'une grande importance fut formulée pour en rendre compte. Selon elle, ces rouleaux étaient le produit de la secte juive des Esséniens. Ce groupe fut décrit assez longuement au premier siècle dans les écrits du philosophe Philon et de l'historien Flavius Josèphe, lesquels évaluèrent leur nombre à environ 4 000 âmes répandues à travers toute la Palestine. Sur la base d'une affirmation de Pline l'Ancien (23-79 de notre ère) qu'un groupe d'Esséniens demeurant « parmi les palmiers » était situé quelque part le long de la rive occidentale de la mer Morte, on affirma, après l'étude de l'un des sept rouleaux originaux, que les Esséniens eurent leur principale demeure précisément dans le site connu comme Khirbet Qoumran, qui se trouve en dessous du domaine des grottes.

El objetivo del presente estudio fue cuantificar los cambios en la estación de crecimiento (EC) y la capacidad térmica (CT) de la EC, durante el periodo 1947-1996, como base de valoración posterior de cambios en la superficie potencial para el cultivo de maíz (Zea mays L.) en el estado de Jalisco. Se estimó el inició (IEC), duración (DEC) y finalizacion (FEC) de la EC, a partir de registros diarios y mensuales de 42 estaciones meteorológicas para dos períodos de tiempo (1947-1971 y 1972-1996), utilizando el método de la FAO y valores de precipitación al 75 % de probabilidad de ocurrencia. Se cuantifico la CT en grados-día de desarrollo acumulados (GDDA) durante la EC. Para ello se utilizaron temperaturas máximas y mínimas diarias y una temperatura base de 10ºC. Con estas estimaciones se realizaron interpolaciones geográficas para generar mapas estatales de IEC, FEC, DEC y CT, utilizando el sistema de información geográfica IDRISI 4.1. Los resultados mostraron una reducción promedio de 6 días en la DEC producto de un retrazo promedio de 2 días en la IEC y de un adelantado promedio de 4 días en la FEC. Esta reducción de la DEC estuvo asociada con una disminución de la precipitación probabilística de los meses de junio, septiembre y octubre. La CT de la EC también disminuyó en promedio 79 GDDA. Se concluye que tanto EC como CT presentan actualmente una tendencia de disminución, por lo que el panorama agroclimático actual es menos favorable para la agricultura temporalera de Jalisco.

The study concerns the effects on the course of agricultural land-use change of the local domination of land occupancy by sub-full-time farms; in particular the effect of non-agricultural occupations on the land-use of individual farm operators is central. Land-use changes in the West Highlands of Scotland (1947-79) were charted for 66 Parishes, which were subjected to a hierarchical fusion of 'similar experience' of change. Resultant clusters were compared in terms of structural attributes. Differentiation was found at two levels: between areas of high viz low percentages of part-time holdings and within the sub-full-time fractions, related to relative proportions of holdings of 40-135, and 135-270 Standard Man Days. 'Insignificant' holdings (<40 SMDs) were found not to be of a characteristic land-use 'type' but instead operated enterprises of similar form to larger units. In three areas of crofting townships land-use and enterprise characteristics were found not to be a sole function of size of holdings or labour availability, (estimated from household demographic and employment criteria). Non-farm occupational characteristics (full-time; part-time; seasonal etc) related to the scale of enterprise but less so to the type of enterprise. Occupants with off-farm work did not specialise per se in low-labour demanding activities. Linear programming was used to estimate optimal land-use intensity from land capability and labour data. Occupational factors related to sub-optimal land-use intensity as did occupants' age. A method derived from Point Score Analysis of decision-making factors showed that certain factors serve as 'constraints' on choices of specific groups of individuals. Off-farm work was found to be the most important such constraint.

Abstract Italy’s political development from 1945 to 1999 can be appropriately divided into three different phases: 1945–79; 1980–92; 1993–99. These phases do not coincide with the different alignments of the various Italian coalitional governments, that is: centrist coalitions (1947–62); centre-left coalitions (1963–76); national solidarity (1976–9); pentapartito (1980–92); centre-right vs. centre-left (1994–present), that have been traditionally utilized. None the less, I believe that a different criterion, referring to the nature and dynamics of democratic life, is overriding and can be precisely and profitably used.

Abstract In economic terms prior to World War II, Greece was predominantly rural, with more than 60 per cent of the population engaged in agricultural occupations generating 35 per cent of the national income. Nevertheless, the country was heavily depen¬ dent upon food imports. In the period 1935-7, 45 per cent of the required wheat was imported, although by 1939, this percentage was reduced to 20.5 (Demathas 1989: 151; Diamond 1947: 5-6). These high figures resulted from a concentration on the production of cash crops such as tobacco and currants (Mazower 1991: 79-81). The primary centres of cereal production in Greece were the northern parts of the mainland, whereas the Peloponnese was the main producer of olive oil and cur¬ rants. Despite wide variations, in genera], the islands were usually producers of a cash crop and they also depended either on remittances and/or cash earned from seasonal/circular migration.
