The East African species of the millipede tribe Pachybolini are revised. Three new genera are described: Crurifarcimen n. gen. (monotypic, type species: C. vagans n. sp., Tanzania), Hyperbolus n. gen. (type species: H. apicomplexus n. sp., Tanzania and Uganda; further species: H. morogoroensis Kraus, 1958, Tanzania, transferred from Pachybolus), Parabolus n. gen. (type species: Trigoniulus dimorphus Carl, 1909, Tanzania, transferred from Pachybolus, further species: P. calceus n. sp., Kenya). Hadrobolus Cook, 1897 and its only species, H. crassicollis (Peters, 1855), Mozambique, are redescribed. Epibolus bravensis (Silvestri, 1897) and E. mossabicensis Lawrence, 1967, are both synonymised under E. pulchripes (Gerstäcker, 1873), Somalia to Mozambique, rendering Epibolus Cook, 1897, monotypic. Pachybolus Cook, 1897, is restricted to its poorly known type species, P. tectus Cook, 1897, Zanzibar. A cladistic analysis of Pachybolini (W Africa, E Africa, Madagascar) does not support monophyly of the East African genera, but does support a clade consisting of Crurifarcimen+Hyperbolus+Parabolus, as well as monophyly of the two latter genera.

Annotation:
Thorell (1897) erected the monotypic genus Palicanus based on a single male specimen from Yangon (formerly Rangoon) in Myanmar (formerly Burma). Initially the genus was placed in Drassidae Sundevall, 1833, which later became a junior synonym of Gnaphosidae Pocock, 1898. The genus was subsequently transferred to Clubionidae Wagner, 1887 (Simon 1897) and finally to Miturgidae Simon, 1886 (Lehtinen 1967). Palicanus caudatus Thorell, 1897 is notable because of its mouse-grey appearance (Deeleman-Reinhold 2001) and is currently known to occur in China, Indonesia, Myanmar, Reunion Island and Seychelles (World Spider Catalog 2019). Gravely (1931) described Systaria barkudensis (Gravely, 1931), originally placed under Syrisca Simon, 1886, on the basis of specimens collected from the Indian state of Odisha. The species was redescribed once (Majumder & Tikader 1991) and later it was transferred to Systaria Simon, 1897 (Deeleman-Reinhold 2001). In this paper, we synonymise S. barkudensis with P. caudatus and provide supplementary information on the somatic morphology and male genitalia with detailed illustrations.

The genus Sciadiocara Skrjabin, 1916 is revised and the following species are recognized: Sciadiocara umbellifera (Molin, 1860); Sciadiocara bihamata (Mueller, 1897) with Sciadiocara denticulata Gibson, 1972 as its new synonym; Sciadiocara legendrei Petter, 1967; Sciadiocara serrata Wang, 1966; Sciadiocara cucullatus (Wehr, 1934); Sciadiocara chabaudi Schmidt and Kinsella, 1972; and Sciadiocara rugosa Schmidt and Kinsella, 1972. Sciadiocara secunda Skrjabin, 1916 is considered a nomen nudum. All species except S. legendrei and S. serrata are redescribed.

These six species are described herein in detail. New observations on the outer shell layer structure of the right valve and the pore-canal system of the left valve led to amending the diagnoses of the g|eneraBarrettiaWoodward, 1862,ParastromaDouvillé, 1926, andPraebarrettiaTrechmann, 1924. Also, the revision of Chiapas’ and other American species of multiple-fold hippuritids led to proposed changes in their generic adscription.

The genus Hyposerica Brenske, 1897 is endemic to the Malagasy region with most species (approximately 60, Ahrens unpublished data) occurring in Madagascar. There is also one species on La Réunion and nine species on Mauritius Island (eight were previously described by Arrow [1948] and one is described here as new). The Mauritius Island species are the only representatives of the tribe Sericini (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae) on the island. Hyposerica are not only the most diverse group of melolonthine chafers on Mauritius Island (with 12 chafer species in total), but also one of the most species-rich groups of scarabaeoid beetles on the island (Vinson 1956, 1967; Gomy 2000).

A new species of pseudothelphusid crab of the tribe Kingsleyini Ortmann, 1897, from the southern Amazon region in the state of Rondônia, Brazil, is described and illustrated. Fredius avilai n. sp. can be readily distinguished from its congeners by the following characters of the male first gonopod: mesial lobe elongated, convoluted, proximal portion directed laterally, distal portion sharply recurved in abdominal direction; marginal process rounded, not projected over distal opening of spermatic channel, merging with distal portion of abdominal surface after a shallow depression; lateral suture well demarcated along mesoabdominal surface of stem, distal portion directed inwards. The assignment of the new species to the genus Fredius Pretzmann, 1967 and its affinities with another closed related species are discussed.

Neste artigo, a partir da releitura de textos fundamentais de Benveniste (1956/1966; 1958/1966; 1959/1966; 1965/1974; 1967/1974; 1969), buscamos detectar de que forma o autor, por formação um linguista histórico, e depois um expoente entre os estruturalistas, consegue, mesmo admitindo a noção de língua como sistema, trazer para a Linguística em meados do século XX a necessidade de se estudar um campo então novo e praticamente inexplorado, em vista do corte metodológico de Saussure (1916): a enunciação, e suas implicações. Postulamos que o pensamento benvenistiano articula, reinterpreta e por vezes desloca noções fundamentais de Breál (1897) e de Saussure (1916), no sentido de, com originalidade, conseguir abordar o sujeito na/da linguagem, no âmbito de uma Semântica linguística.

His Nobel Prize lecture and American Economic Association lecture in 1967 are discussed, too. The third part analyzes Friedman’s methodology. Milton Friedman was the most influential economist of the second half of the 20th century. He is best known for his theoretical and empirical research, especially consumption analysis, monetary history and theory, and for his demonstration of the complexity of stabilization policy.

The article is devoted to the design activity of the famous Belgian architect Victor Horta (1861–1947), one of the founders of the European art Nouveau (Art Nuoveau). The interest in this unique architect is due to the fact that he lived a very long and creative life, and left a huge creative heritage. In 1967, his best Art Nouveau works received a well-deserved recognition and became the property of world culture. The paper presents the analysis of architectural, compositional and structural features of a number of buildings erected in Brussels. Four of them are included in the list of UNESCO world heritage sites in 2000. Including the Tassel House (1892–1893), The Hôtel Solvay (1894–1900), The Hôtel van Eetvelde (1895–1897) and The Horta Museum (1898–1900). Some aspects of his scientific, pedagogical and sociopolitical activities are also considered.

K. Martens and O. Külköylüoǧlu).In the Miocene, this genus has been reported from Morocco (Zonocypris maghrebinensis Helmdach, 1988) and in the Plio-Pleistocene, from India (Zonocypris costata, in Bhatia &amp; Khosla, 1967; Singh, 1977), Bulgaria (Zonocypris membranae membranae Livental, in Suzin 1956, and Zonocypris membranae quadricella Stancheva, in Stancheva, 1966), Turkey (Zonocypris membranae, in Tunoglu, 2001), Greece (Paracypretta? sp. Mostafawi, 1988, Zonocypris sp. 6 Mostafawi, 1994b and Zonocypris rippeae Mostafawi, 1994a) and Russia (Zonocypris membranae, in Suzin, 1956; Mandelstam &amp; Schneider, 1963). Species attributed to Zonocypris by Nazik &amp; Gökçen (1992) from the Lower Miocene of Turkey most likely do not belong to the genus Zonocypris but to Virgatocypris Malz &amp; Moayedpour, 1973.Recent field work in Algarve, southern Portugal (Cabral et al., 2003), allowed the presence of the genus Zonocypris to be recorded, represented by a species closely related to the Recent species Zonocypris costata (Vávra, 1897) in a Pleistocene lacustrine ostracod assemblage at Boliqueime.Thus, the recognition of Zonocypris cf. costata (Pl. 1) in the Pleistocene of southern Portugal is the first documented occurrence of this genus in post-Cretaceous deposits of Western Europe.

There are few realizations in modern Serbian architecture that are as constantly written and spoken about as those of the charismatic Nikola Dobrović (1897-1967). Melded in Central Europe, and affirmed in interwar and post-war Yugoslavia, his works left a deep mark in all areas of the profession, from design and construction, to urbanism, theory, criticism, historiography, conservation and university teaching. As an uncompromising visionary of the democratic city, he encouraged a radical modernization of the architectural stock, setting an example for the generations that followed. In doing so, he developed an independent conception of International Modernism, the principles of which he consistently advocated. Although there are fewer and fewer contemporaries who remember him, generations of admirers and architectural historians prevent Dobrović's personality and works from being forgotten, repressed or sanitized. Hence, as part of the celebration of the 125th anniversary of his birth in Belgrade, several events of a scientific and educational character were organized.

The species of Pritha Lehtinen, 1967 in Italy are revised for the first time, and a preliminary putative diagnosis for the genus is provided. Two new Italian species are described: Pritha parva sp. nov. (male and female) and P. sagittata sp. nov. (male and female). P. pallida (Kulczyński, 1897) and the type species P. nana (Simon, 1868) are entirely re-described. The copulatory organs, some other somatic characters and the habitus of each sex of the four Italian species are illustrated and photographed at high magnifications. P. debilis (Simon, 1911) and P. vestita (Simon, 1873) are removed from the synonymy with P. nana and revalidated to species status, and a lectotype is designated for the latter. P. pallida is recorded from Spain and Greece for the first time. Distribution, behavioural aspects and ecology of the four Italian species are discussed and photographs of live specimens, webs and habitats are provided.

Abstract. The continuation of valuable, long-term glacier observation series is threatened by the accelerated mass loss which currently affects a large portion of so-called "benchmark" glaciers. In this work we present the evolution of the Careser glacier, from the beginning of systematic observation at the end of the nineteenth century to its current condition in 2012. In addition to having one of the longest and richest observation record among the Italian glaciers, Careser is unique in the Italian Alps for its 45 yr mass balance series started in 1967. In the present study, variations in the length, area and volume of the glacier since 1897 are examined, updating the series of direct mass balance observations and extending it into the past using the geodetic method. The glacier is currently strongly out of balance and in rapid decay; its average mass loss rate over the last three decades was −1.5 m water equivalent per year, increasing to −2.0 m water equivalent per year in the last decade. If mass loss continues at this pace, the glacier will disappear within a few decades, putting an end to this unique observation series.

The taxonomic status of the elegans-group of Alona s. lato (Cladocera: Anomopoda: Chydoridae) is herein examined. The West Palearctic Alona elegans Kurz, 1875 and poorly known African taxon Coronatella cf. bukobensis (Weltner, 1897) are redescribed, and new data on morphology of Coronatella circumfimbriata (Megard, 1967) and Coronatella rectangula (Sars, 1861) is added. Based on analysis of original and literature data, the elegans-group is herein suggested as a separate subgenus within the genus Coronatella, namely Coronatella (Ephemeralona) subgen. nov. Main diagnostic features of the latter include: (1) seta arising from the basal segment of antenna endopodite much longer than endopodite; (2) acessory seta of limb I long, almost as long as ODL seta; (3) setae 2-3 of IDL armed with uniform thin setulae; (4) exopodite of limb II with a very short, rudimentary seta. Coronatella (Ephemeralona) subgen. nov. is a morphologically uniform basal group of the genus. It is distributed mostly in the arid belt of the Old World, with a single species known from South Africa. C. (Coronatella) is distributed worldwide; it is composed of several distinct species-groups with overlapping areas of distribution. A checklist of Coronatella species is provided.

Starting from the end of the XIXth century, a decrease in infant mortality was observed worldwide. Care of preterm infants became the domain of dedicated units inside hospitals and technology became more complex. Neonatal Intensive Care Units were created throughout the world, increasing infant survival chances regardless of age and pathology. Alongside Neonatology, better means of investigating the pregnancies were discovered. Ultrasound use during pregnancy improved the chances of identifying complex genetic syndromes, some incompatible with survival after birth. It is considered that Stéphane Tarnier (1828–1897) is the architect of Perinatology, many of his inventions had a major role in the evolution of Obstetrics and Neonatology (the Tarnier forceps, the basiotribe, intrauterine balloon for inducing the labor, gavage feeding of the preemies). But only in 1967 the term “perinatology” was mentioned for the first time in a German paper. Professor Emeritus Erich Saling is the father or perinatology. He introduced the evaluation of gas exchange for the fetus during labor and the examination of amniotic fluid during the last weeks of pregnancy. Today, Perinatology is a widely used concept, but the road to creating this concept was long and needed the work of many prominent doctors.

This group is recognized in workers and females by a combination of: antennae of 12 segments with club of 2 segments, median portion of clypeus forming a longitudinal platform and the lamelliform setae in the internal border of the mandibles. This last trait, unknown in other ants, is proposed as autapomorphy for the Adelomyrmex genus-group. Abstract. The continuation of valuable, long-term glacier observation series is threatened by the accelerated mass loss which currently affects a large portion of so-called "benchmark" glaciers. In this work we present the evolution of the Careser Glacier, from the beginning of systematic observation at the end of the 19th century to its current condition in 2012. In addition to having one of the longest and richest observation records among the Italian glaciers, Careser is unique in the Italian Alps for its 46 yr mass balance series that started in 1967. In the present study, variations in the length, area and volume of the glacier since 1897 are examined, updating and validating the series of direct mass balance observations and adding to the mass balance record into the past using the geodetic method. The glacier is currently strongly out of balance and in rapid decay; its average mass loss rate over the last 3 decades was 1.5 m water equivalent per year, increasing to 2.0 m water equivalent per year in the last decade. Although these rates are not representative at a regional scale, year-to-year variations in mass balance show an unexpected increase in correlation with other glaciers in the Alps, during the last 3 decades. If mass loss continues at this pace, the glacier will disappear within a few decades, putting an end to this unique observation series.

AbstractThis paper examines the nature of late Ottoman provincial intercommunal interactions and affiliations as they appear in the memoir of Hovhannes Cherishian (1886–1967), a shoemaker from late Ottoman Marash (present-day Kahramanmaraş, in southeastern Turkey). The paper is situated within the larger discourse of “untold histories” that historians have begun to address in revising the deeply ingrained post-Ottoman nationalist historiographies that dominate both academic and popular discourses. Conventional historiographies have represented former late Ottoman subject communities (e.g., Greek, Jewish, Armenian) as insulated and homogenous proto-nation-states. In the revisionist historiography, the late Ottoman Armenian voice, especially the provincial one, has been noticeably absent. Here I utilize Cherishian's memoir to examine the life and thoughts of one late Ottoman Armenian provincial subject. I focus especially on his treatment of intercommunal interactions in Anatolia and present-day Syria between 1897 and 1922. His accounts of these often extended intercommunal interactions, affiliations, and networks are characterized by intercommunal and interpersonal openness, sympathy, intimacy, and pleasure, even as he presents them side-by-side with descriptions of deportation and death at the hands of the late Ottoman state. I develop the idea of what I call “provincial cosmopolitanism” to conceptualize and represent the disposition, affinity, and process of identity formation that enabled Cherishian to create and operate these interpersonal relationships and networks that propelled his life, a historical condition to which we are not currently privy in most historiographical accounts of the late Ottoman period.

Srpska akademija nauka i umetnosti posvetila je 2022. godinu akademiku Nikoli Dobroviću (Pečuj, 12. 2. 1897 - Beograd, 11. 1. 1967) i obeležavanju jubileja povodom 125 godina od rođenja ovog istaknutog jugoslovenskog i srpskog arhitekte modernog doba. Izložba "Nikola Dobrović - pod zastavama modernih pokreta" autora prof. dr Marte Vukotić Lazar i mr Bojana Kovačevića (otvorena u Galeriji Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti, 24. maja 2022. godine, a trajaće do 2. oktobra 2022) zauzima centralno mesto u Programu obeležavanja jubileja. Prikupljena i obrađena obimna građa opredelila je autore izložbe da celokupan Dobrovićev opus podele u tri perioda: Praški (1919-1934), Dubrovački (1934-1943) i Beogradski (1945-1967), čije su granice otvorene za međusobna prožimanja i slobodno proisticanje svih uticaja iz jednog perioda u drugi. U tom kontekstu se dizajnerka postavke izložbe, arhitekta Marina Dokmanović, u dogovoru sa autorima izložbe, opredelila da ovu multidisciplinarnu izložbu prezentuje u okviru galerijskog prostora u osam celina, kao najsvrsishodniji način da se posetiocima prvi put stavi na uvid, dosad neizlagani obimni materijal objedinjen iz raznih institucija i na jednom mestu, a koji se bavi životom i delom, kao i periodom kome je pripadao arhitekta Nikola Dobrović, redovni član Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti, redovni profesor Univerziteta u Beogradu, nosilac brojnih počasnih titula, društvenih i javnih priznanja itd. Izložbu prati luksuzni katalog, obima 204 strane, sa brojnim crno-belim i ilustracijama u boji, među kojima je veliki broj publikovan prvi put. Pored izdanja na srpskom jeziku, katalog je objavljen kao posebno izdanje i na engleskom jeziku. Izdavačka delatnost Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti priprema još tri publikacije koje će biti dostupne stručnoj javnosti do kraja jubilarne 2022. godine, i to: monografiju Nikola Dobrović: život, delo, vreme na srpskom i na engleskom jeziku, kao i zbornik radova na srpskom jeziku koji će biti rezultat izlaganja sa međunarodnog naučnog skupa koji nosi naziv 125 godina od rođenja arhitekte Nikole Dobrovića (1897-2022) u organizaciji Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti, Arhitektonskog i Filozofskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu, a koji će biti održan 17. i 18. novembra 2022. godine u prostorijama Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti i Arhitektonskog fakulteta u Beogradu. Oko izložbe, koja je centralni događaj, okupili su se brojni, takođe važni događaji sa mnoštvom učesnika i aktivnostima koje su se održavale na više mesta u Beogradu. Pod okriljem Udruženja arhitekata Srbije i Akademije arhitekture Srbije održana je "17. Beogradska internacionalna nedelja arhitekture" (BINA, 26. 5. 2022 - 7. 6. 2022), dok su na Arhitektonskom fakultetu u Beogradu i zimski i letnji semestar školske 2021/2022. godine umnogome bili posvećeni ovom jubileju kroz niz nastavnih celina i aktivnosti vezanih za redovnu, izbornu i postdiplomsku nastavu, uz organizaciju pratećih događaja kao što su otvorene radionice, razgovori, gostujuća ekspertska predavanja, realizacija studentskog konkursa za idejno arhitektonsko-urbanističko rešenje rekonstrukcije zgrada Dobrovićevog Generalštaba (DSNO), sa izložbom konkursnih rešenja u Knez Mihailovoj ulici u Beogradu u neposrednoj blizini Galerije Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti (27. 5. 2022 - 10. 6. 2022) u realizaciji BINA i Arhitektonskog fakulteta u Beogradu itd. Biblioteka Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti (BSANU) organizovala je, takođe, u novim vitrinama prijemnog hola, kamernu, izložbenu postavku od građe iz fonda Biblioteke Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti, uz biografske i druge podatke. Na inicijativu predsednika Odbora za pripremu i obeležavanje ovog jubileja, akademika arhitekte Milana Lojanice, u organizaciji Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti, Arhitektonskog i Filozofskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Beogradu, održaće se i međunarodni naučni skup 125 godina od rođenja arhitekte Nikole Dobrovića (1897-2022) u Beogradu, 17. i 18. novembra 2022. godine. Radio televizija Srbije (RTS), kao nacionalna medijska kuća, dala je podršku ovom jubileju realizacijom dokumentarnog filma o životu i radu Nikole Dobrovića, pod nazivom "Urbanista mora biti arhitekta", kroz prizmu arhivske građe, audio i video materijala, kao i kroz svedočenja i tumačenja Dobrovićevog života, dela i doba kome je pripadao, njegovih nekadašnjih studenata, danas uglednih srpskih arhitekata: Aleksandra Stjepanovića, Živojina Bate Krapešića, Dragoljuba Bakića i Đorđa Bobića, srodnika, Vesne Pešić, sestričine Ivanke Dobrović, sociologa i političarke, kojoj je Nikola Dobrović bio teča, kao i autora izložbe, u produkciji Obrazovno-naučnog programa, na čelu sa glavnim i odgovornim urednikom Ilijom Cerovićem, urednicom emisije Mirjanom Bjelogrlić-Nikolov i rediteljkom Ivanom Stivens.24 Izložba je, sa jedna strane, posvećena arhitekti Nikoli Dobroviću, konceptima i fenomenima, ličnostima i delima koji su utabali njegove puteve, odredili usmerenja, izoštrili stvaralačke vidike i doveli ga do Beograda, njegovog životnog i profesionalnog odredišta. Njeno drugo posvećenje usmereno je ka zaostavštinama od kojih započinje svako temeljito istraživanje opusa pojedinih graditelja.

(it is restored from synonymy to E. olivaceum) = L. sordidus syn. nov.; E. minutum comb. nov. and E. infumatum comb. nov. are possible synonyms of each other. Homotoicha amazoniensis Cadena-Castañeda, 2015 is here included in the genus Euthyrrhachis (as E. amazoniensis comb. nov.). Some other new data on the above-mentioned genera are also given.

AbstractThe climatological characteristics of drought in South Korea were investigated using daily precipitation data for 1777–2008. The effective drought index was used to quantify the drought intensity. As a result, five characteristics were discovered. First, South Korea can be divided into four drought subregions (the central, southern, and east coastal regions and Jeju Island) using hierarchical cluster analysis. Second, a map for long-term drought conditions in the four subregions is created that allows identification of the spatiotemporal distribution of droughts for the 231 yr at a glance. Third, droughts in South Korea have time scales that depend on the onset season. Spring (March–May) droughts tend to be short (≤200 days) because the summer (June–September) rainy season follows. Summer droughts tend to be long (>200 days) because the dry season (October–February) follows. In the dry season, droughts tend to be sustained or become severe rather than being initiated or relieved. Fourth, 5-, 14-, 34-, and 115-yr drought cycles were identified by spectral analysis. The 5-yr cycle was dominant in all of the regions, the 14-yr cycle was observed over the southern and east coastal regions, and the 34-yr cycle was observed over the central region. Fifth, the most extreme drought occurred in 1897–1903 (return period: 233 yr) and was associated with the 115-yr drought cycle. After this drought, severe droughts (return period of >10 yr) occurred in 1927–30, 1938–40, 1942–45, 1951–52, 1967–69, and 1994–96; they were caused by the consecutive shortage of summer rainfall for two or more years.

Письма А.И. Тереножкина 1939–1941 гг. относятся к периоду поиска ученым своего научного пути и началу его работы в Узбекистане. В них он делится с В.А. Городцовым первыми результатами исследований в зоне строительства Большого Ташкентского канала и на городище Ак-Тепе, знакомит учителя с Чимбайлыкским кладом и советуется по поводу его хронологии. Послания 1941–1942 гг. написаны с фронтовых дорог, но их главной темой по-прежнему является археология. В.А. Городцов в своих письмах отмечает важность новейших археологических открытий в Туркестане, делится новостями о ходе работы над 2 томом «Археологии», призывает бить врага. Abstract Denkard VII which considered as the “Legend of Zoroaster” has been the subject of several investigations. The first translation was by E.W. West (1897: The Sacred Books of the East. Vol. 47. Clarendon: Oxford University Press: 26); Many years later Marijan Molé (1967) published a French version of Book VII; in Persian, Ahmad Tafazzolī and Žāleh Āmūzgār (1993: 55–110) translated some parts of the book VII; the last version which is in Persian belongs to Rashed Muhassel (2012: Denkard VII. Tehran: Pažuheshgāh-e olūm-e ensāni). Chapter two, sentence 34 of Denkard VII contains a word transcribed as tōšn/tušn of which this essay aims to have a critical view.

Investigations of specimens belonging to the genus Hylaeogena Obenberger, 1923 from South America and especiallyfrom Venezuela and corresponding types in European institutional collections has led to the detection of a number of newsynonyms and new combinations. These proposed nomenclatural changes are for species in the genera Hylaeogena Oben-berger, 1923 and Pachyschelus Solier, 1833. The New Caledonia archipelago is known for its high level of endemism in both faunal and floral groups. Thus far, only 12 species of non-marine ostracods have been reported. After three expeditions to the main island of the archipelago (Grande Terre), about four times as many species were found, about half of which are probably new. Here, we describe a new species, Cyprinotus drubea sp. nov., which is characterised mainly by the hyper-developed dorsal hump on the right valve, much larger than in any other known Recent species in this genus. After a literature study of the other presumed species in Cyprinotus Brady, 1886, we retain seven Recent species in the genus, including the present new species. Cyprinotus crenatus (Turner, 1893), C. dentatus (Sharpe, 1910), C. flavescens Brady, 1898, C. inconstans Furtos, 1936, C. newmexicoensis Ferguson, 1967, C. ohanopecoshensis Ferguson, 1966, C. pellucidus (Sharpe, 1897), C. scytodus (Dobbin, 1941) and C. sulphurous Blake, 1931 are here all referred to the genus Heterocypris s. lat. Claus, 1892. Cyprinotus unispinifera Furtos, 1936 is assigned to the genus Cypricercus Sars, 1895. Cyprinotus tenuis Henry, 1923, C. fuscus Henry, 1919 and C. carinatus (King, 1855) are here classified as doubtful species. A checklist of the 14 non-marine ostracods, now including Cyprinotus drubea sp. nov. and Cypris granulata (Daday, 1910), thus far reported from New Caledonia, is provided. Herpetocypris caledonica Méhes, 1939 and H. caledonica var. minor Méhes, 1939 are synonymised with Candonocypris novaezelandiae (Baird, 1843).

LANGUAGE NOTE | Document text in Chinese; abstract also in English. 此文是對近代保守派學者劉咸炘的一份歷史學研究。這一研究從劉氏頗受關注的歷史觀切入,終於其人仍有待深入探究的理事論和新文化批評。首先,此文説明了劉氏的歷史觀念雖然承襲自章學誠,但支撑其歷史觀的乃是理學色彩濃厚的理事論。鑒於劉氏有學史以明道的價值訴求,此文在之後又分析了劉氏在其理事一元論學説中對於人性本善的回護,並指明這一回護中德福難得一致的問題。隨後,此文分析了劉氏在處理此問題時圍繞鬼神有無之問題對無神論所作的批評及其困境,指出劉氏保守的理事文化觀反映了文化保守派在近代中國的弱勢處境。最後,此文引述馬一浮對“六經皆史”的批評,試探劉氏學思在近代思想史中間的位置。 This paper is a historical study of modern conservative thinker Liu Xianxin (1897-1932) and his theory of li (principle) and shi (social activities). As Liu is now known as a brilliant historian, his theoretical discourses and criticism of China's westernization have become subjects for investigation. First, this paper studies Liu's historical ideas influenced by Zhang Xuecheng (1738- 1801) and Neo-Confucianism. Second, it examines Liu's defense for the theory of original goodness of human nature and the problem of the correspondence of virtue and happiness. Third, it examines Liu's theistic argument, which was used in securing the correspondence of virtue and happiness. Based on these investigations, this paper shows inherent tension in Liu's theory of li (principle) and shi (matter), which reflects the anti-tradition trend Liu faced. Through discussing Ma Yifu's (1883- 1967) critique on the view that “Confucian Classics are historical works,” the last part demonstrates Liu's significance to modern Chinese scholarship.
