General rules
Organisational reports play an important role in the commercial practices of business entities and in a country's institutional environment in general. Such reports are official written documents containing valuable information on a particular company, entity, or organisation: its results, achievements on particular directions, agenda, proposals, etc. On the global scale, reports of international organisations are particularly important.
To create a bibliographic reference to an organisational report available online according to the Harvard citation style, use the following template:
Author(s), (year). Report title Report type and/or number [online]. City: Publisher. [Viewed date viewed]. Available from: doi: DOI
Note:
- The field 'Report type and/or number' is used when the cited document contains this data. The field can be filled in with details such as 'No. 758/AR', 'NIH Publication No. 20-mh-8138', etc.
- Both a corporate and an individual author can be the author of a report. See more about citing different types of authors in the Harvard referencing system here.
- If an organisation is at the same time the author and the publisher of a report, its name is given twice in the reference.
For an organisational report available online at a URL address without a DOI, modify the corresponding element of the bibliographic reference as follows:
Available from: URL
See about how to indicate the DOI and URL addresses in this article.
For referencing the print version of a report, use the following template:
Author(s), (year). Report title Report type and/or number. City: Publisher.
